I started doing business with Tims Father Henry Shoopman many years ago and have always been happy with how they handled every policy, claim, issue, and question I had. Tim has done a wonderful job at carrying on this tradition in keeping long time customers happy. Everyone who Ive dealt with has always taken the time to explain everything with no insurance speak or talking around a question. You ask a straight question and youll get a straight answer, and if you dont understand they never seem to mind rephrasing the answer or getting you to someone else who can explain it better.I saw this opportunity to review this agency and figured its about time I shared my thoughts.

I had my home and auto insurance for decades with this office. We were even customers of Tims father. Tim is not his father. They are overpriced and will drop you straightaway without the agent even having the decency to return your repeated calls. Just use caution. Know what you are going into. Unbelievable that a long term, loyal customer would be treated this way. Unacceptable.

Tim Shoopman and his staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to your average auto or home loan but Tim went the extra mile when it came time to put together our retirement package. We all want to get to retirement, but can you actually retire if you dont have enough money? We thought we were on the right track, but when my husband and I sat down with Tim, he showed us what it was actually going to take to get there; he even took the time to walk us through what our options were (with & without SF selections), all so we could be confident when the time comes to retire and truly enjoy those years!

Had a 3pm appointment to discuss changes to insurance and to correct an error they have been told about on multiple occasions. I arrived promptly at 3pm to find that the person I was scheduled to meet with wasnt there!! another woman asked if its something she could help with. Ummm I dont know, are you the janitor or an adjuster or what? The best thing to say would have been I am so sorry Erica isnt here. That is not acceptable. I will help you right now and we will get you taken care of! Nobody bothered to call to follow up or apologize.

My family started with State Farm under Tims father more than twenty years ago, partially because he built the business from the ground up. Unfortunately, the apple has fallen very far from the tree, and Tims method of doing business seems to be more about the money and less about customers. Ive given this particular agent several chances over the years, and things never seem to go they should. At one point, I requested a vehicle be removed from my policy (my secondary garaged car). Unfortunately for me, Tim removed coverage on the wrong vehicle, leaving my primary vehicle uncovered for months. I had to bring the issue to their attention on my next statement. At which point the only remark I received was Well, we would have covered it anyway. At a later date, Tim actually mentioned that covering anything that wasnt on the policy would be strictly illegal.That should have been the big red flag for me.My most recent claim was never followed up on. I had to call Tims office to request an appointment with an adjuster. Even then, they failed to schedule a time with any adjuster, and left the Call Center to take care of their grunt work that evening. Ill be switching State Farm agents as soon as possible. Avoid Tim at all costs, and choose a State Farm agent that built their own business instead of having one handed to them.

Tim Shoopmans State Farm Agency absolutely earns 5 star service on all accounts. From our home and auto insurance to our IRAs, we trust Tim Shoopman and all of his employees like we trust our family. One of my favorite books- that I still have and reference from time to time-- is this Mayo Book on Pregnancy. This was a gift from Tim and State Farm when we got pregnant with our first child 13 years ago. What a caring way to take care of your clients during one of the most important times of their lives!We have also ALWAYS had great successes when cars needed repairs OR when our roof needed repairs or replacing due to Texas crazy springtime storms. After our most recent hailstorm, Tim texted me that very night-- to let us know he was coming by the next day for a qucik look at our roof.And homeowners claims have been easy and professionally handled. An awful leak in our bathroom was fixed, and I got a new shower and tile! And it WAS SUCH AN EASY CLAIMS process.When I sing that tune, like a good neighbor, I know that Tim Shoopman will be there for me and my family.
