RMBJJ is hands down the greatest investment on myself I’ve ever made! I started training there a couple years ago or so. We have a lot of fun there and put in some good work! Professor Rodrigo, along with everyone I have met there, are some of the most helpful and non judgmental people I know. It can be intimidating to step out of your comfort zone – especially as an adult. I am sure glad I did. I’ll be signing my kids up for sure when they are old enough, as they offer several programs for different age groups.

I visited RMBJJ while on vacation in Delray and could not have been more pleased. Professor Rodrigo was very welcoming as well as the entire class. The facilities are super clean and the instruction was top notch. I highly recommend visiting if youre ever in south Florida. I should also mention that its a very family friendly environment. It was nice to see professor Rodrigo with his young son and he encouraged me to bring my own kids next time which I will do.

Spend time in Boca for work and based on a friend’s recommendation I came to RMBJJ to drop in. Ended up coming back again the next night. What an amazing gym. Great people, super welcoming, incredible instruction with attention to detail (felt like I was at a seminar), great rounds with awesome pacing and technique. I highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My regular academy was closed during Hurricane Dorian and I called a friend that trains at RMBJJ with Professor Rodrigo to ask if I could drop in. I visited Delray beach earlier this week and was given a very warm welcome at RMBJJ. Professor Mendes provided excellent instruction on lasso guard sweeps and sparring was very high-level and technical. Next time I visit delray beach I will for sure be back. I trained with Professor Mendes for well over a year before moving away and do not have a single negative comment. His school is by far the biggest thing I miss about my time in FL. Professor Mendes runs a competitive academy while still maintaining a welcoming environment for students of all levels. I now train at a different school in NYC and am even more impressed in hindsight with Professor Mendes’ teaching ability and school culture. His instruction will focus on minor aspects of moves and positions and then he will spend as much time during drills helping white belts as he will assisting higher levels. I highly recommend RMBJJ for everyone from brand new students to black belts and if it was possible to still attend classes at the academy I would be there every single night.

I have been studying under Professor Rodrigo Mendes for over a year now and I have reserved my review because honestly with something like Jiu Jitsu it takes quite a while to see results and provide feedback. With that said my review is going to be a little different.Rodrigo and his team of black belts and higher ranked students will allow you to grow to whatever your optimum potential is - no more no less. The is no secret to Jiu Jitsu and RMBJJ is very honest about that. The only way to progress is hard work and determination. If you can commit that much Rodrigo and his team will ensure that you have a guide along your personal journey, I say personal journey because no two students are the same. Aside from hard work and dedication Rodrigo makes sure to instill one other philosophy to his students - this school is ours, not mine. He makes it very clear without the support of his Professors, Students and their significant others there cant be an RMBJJ.So my suggestion is this - give it a try. The worst that can happen is you meet some cool people and decide its not for you. The best thing is you find something that gives you a deep satisfaction that doesnt come easily these days with instant gratification.I train with deliverymen, doctors, hairdressers, construction workers and everything in between - you rarely find diversity like that anywhere. I have found a lifestyle with this school that I cannot imagine living without and to be honest the fighting aspect is the least important part. I have found a sisterhood/brotherhood that is worth the price of admission itself.

Its been one month since Ive been training here & let me say it has been very humbling. I come from a wrestling and boxing background & have been very successful in those sports, but this is a completely different martial art, and one to be highly appreciated. I was very surprised how good these guys were on the mats. I had thought my wrestling experience could allow me to control & escape threats & it does help to a degree, but Im being taught lessons daily. The students are all great training partners & professor Rodrigo Mendes is an extremely nice & inviting guy. His gym has a family environment & everyone leaves there egos at home. Im very impressed with what Ive learned in 4 weeks cant wait to see where i am 4 years from now. I just wish I had started sooner, but better late than never. They also offer an all womens class for those weary about co-ed, my girlfriend has also joined. This is my first time writing a google review and I did so because I can tell Rodrigo Mendes is a special guy. Great gym! Ossss

Been rolling two and a half years and switched to RMBJJ about 9 months ago. Rodrigo is a straight dealing guy who likes to run his school ethically. He is personally very capable in BJJ and there are another couple of black belts in regular attendance. The balance between martial arts formality and the laid back Brazilian culture is just right for me. The facility is clean and well maintained. Classes are offered morning and evening ( but not too late ) throughout the week with an open mat on Saturday morning. Attendance is good with a wide variety of belt levels, athletic capability and age. The vibe is very good. The members roll hard but clean, according to the ability and desire of their partner, and injury is a very rare occurrence.The exclusive focus of the school on BJJ is a plus for me. BJJ is a tough sport in that you are in a live combat situation but is is a great way to work on cardio, strength and flexibility all while using your brain to figure out the puzzle of submitting a partner while defending yourself.

Positive environment that teaches real BJJ. Professor Mendes is not only a true BJJ World Champion but a class act when it comes to teaching. The classes were great and you will become a better BJJ practitioner at this school as long as you put the time and hard work in while surrounded by students and teachers wanting you to do better.

I met Professor Rodrigo about a year and a half ago with no martial arts background, but I had always had an interest in MMA and jiu jitsu. He offered me a free week trial and Ive been training there ever since. To say that joining the RMBJJ team was one of the most rewarding choices Ive ever made would be an understatement.
