Returned for the first time in a few years today and I was so impressed! they renovated and it’s all very nice. basic pedicure was $30 and the technicians were very kind and patient, i didn’t feel judged. more thorough than other pedicures i’ve gotten. also it’s located in a nice spot for if you’re running errands. definitely will come back!

Was very disappointed. Lady was rude every time I attempted to tell her what i wanted and would ignore. At the end my nails were uneven and some where thicker and some too thin. My own nails themselves where in so much pain! not even a week later and my nails are starting to fall off!

Called for an appointment June 23rd and whomever scheduled had the nerves to be rude scheduling my appointment talking to me unprofessional !! I called next day to confirm and same thing!!! Needless to say I went off and canceled!!! I don’t care either!! Next

I got gel nails done on Saturday and by Sunday they were chipped and peeling off .When I went back on Monday the lady fixed the two put a different color on .And then the next day more were peeling off so I went back in they were rude did not care .There was another lady before me who had the same issue and was waiting and left because they were taking so long .Very rude will never go there again .

Its the place to go. They do a good job.

I go to this nail salon regularly and love the service that I get here. I get acrylics and my nails always look nice! I also get a pedicure here as well and I am always surprised by how nice they are. The basic pedicure is $25 and they dont skimp! It comes with an exfoliate scrub and it always leaves my heels soft. Usually it costs more at other shops.

Lady doing my nails was not listening to anything I was saying. I asked her to fix a few things and she said it was fine. I had asked the price before she started she said, $40 and asked my what shape. I told her coffin she said okay $45. We agreed. Long story short, Im unhappy with my set. And felt I was over charged, walking out with a price totaling $65. For a short set, when it was supposed to be long. Telling her I was unhappy with the length, at first and her respons was its nice on you. You don’t need long nails. But she said she would fix them. As I waited patiently for, her to fix them she continues to tell she will but never got to it. This place is very unprofessional, and rude. I will not be coming back here.

I have been going here a little less than a year & Katie is the Best very kind & professional ! I get gel overlay on my real nails & no chip polish... I’m always Satisfied! Pedicure is just ok.. I don’t think enough time is put in with the pedicures. But overall I Love this place!

This is my very first time coming here and it was great! I had got a fill in, with no chip, and a nail repair. All together I paid $33 it might seem kind of high but it’s really decent compared to the other places out here charging $45. It cost $3 to replace my broken nail and the rest was $30. I was nervous to come over here because of there low rating but many people suggested I go here and I’m happy I did. 🙄🙄 believe me I’m a college students that doesn’t have any time to be wasting money.

I went to this place last week ..I spend $170 for my & my daughters hands nail & eyebrows & feet lets just say don’t waste you’re money I’ll never go here again..

I have been coming to VP for 4 years and have been happy with all of their services. I have recently started working in Belvidere. I thought Id rather find another salon but really there is no comparison so I go on my days off to VP Nails.

Horrible service...I used to go here as a student and didnt like them then. I dont know what made me come back besides being too lazy to drive to the one I like in sycamore. The person who did my pedicure was nice but overall the service was bad. My massage chair didnt work, I had to sit until my water was cold, my massage was really just a 5 minute rub down, and I was left for over 10 minutes with the wax on my feet because the nail tech went to wax eyebrows in the middle of my pedicure. The towels are old and stained, the water cooler is dusty, and it just felt dirty. Sorry, honest review...

Katie did my nails. And Im in love. She checked with me to make sure my shape was good and triple checked with me on what I wanted. I went after having a bad experience with my favorite salon in Aurora, and now my nails look amazing. Highly recommended.

The chemical salon smell seems extra strong here. I didnt notice until too late that I was only given one coat of color on my toes, and my friend was quoted a different price on the phone from the one in store. But the hot stone massage felt amazing.

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. The man who did my manicure legit only took 15 minutes. Put my hands in cold water, wiped them down with a paper towel and not a towel to clean my nails and cuticles look exactly the same way they did when I came in. AND the polish is starting to chip and I got them done 2 days ago. DO NOT waste your money or time on these people.

I would go back again the only problem was o e person didnt do what I wanted but they let me get a redo for free!

Worst pedicure EVER!! After waiting an hour and a half. Even though she said it’ll take 15 minutes. I got the worst pedicure I’ve ever gotten! She barely took the time to scrap off my dry skin on my heels, they’re still rough. Then she hurriedly rushed through all the other steps and put (to my surprise) FIVE coats of nail polish, which of course never fully dries unless you have an extra two hours of your day to spare. She also got polish on the surrounding skin and didn’t even attempt to remove it. So I basically spent $25 on a pedicure I could’ve easily done myself. Poor poor service. Do not go!

Went in to get my nails filled and reshaped with a no chip. And the guy charged me extra for the reshape. He also rushed to fill them and left them extremely thick and never had me wash my hands. The gems he put on my nails started falling off within an hr of leaving. Had go use nail glue to keep them on. They have horrible customer service.

I been coming here for the past two years! Today I went to get a new set and my tech Jackie wasn’t working today. Decided to stay anyway I waited over and hour to be sat! Once I was Kevin came and started my process he’s always been so rude!!! Didn’t care bc never let him touch me until today! Long story short I left VP after and hour in a half without my nails being done! I’m never coming back and sucks because it wasn’t even Jackie fault!

Came to NIU for a party and didnt have a chance to get my nails done before so I took a chance and fell in love. I cant wait to go back. I got stiletto nails. They were done quickly and the nails looked AMAZING and lasted a very long time.

I was told there would be a 20 minute wait. Over an hour later I finally got seated. My nails are bumpy, filed at an angle and the clear coat is peeling off already. Will never go back!

If I could rate a zero I would. I used to love this place. The last 3 times I was there, I left with my feet looking and feeling worse than when I had walked in the door. They have definitely lost my business

I got to VP Nails in DeKalb with my friend for a girls day around 2:00pm on 3/11/18. We got to the pedicure bowls around 2:20pm. I sat for 20-30 mins while my friend got her pedicure started. They use a cheese grater on your feet. The foot massage is great but overall most likely not coming back

I came in to get a basic pedicure. They lady that did my pedicure attempted to reuse a dirty nail file. I asked for a clean one, she said it was. I told her it wasnt as I could see someone elses nail residue in the black file. She grabbed 3 more out of her drawer that were equally dirty attempted to use those and I said not to as they were also dirty. She yelled something up front, then went in the back. When she returned she had a sealed package of a new file and a pumice stone. She did not use top coat, even though I asked for it highly disappointed and will not be back. Be warned ladies, keep an eye on the tools they are using and make sure they open them from a clean package!!

They dont even try talking to you. I had gotten a manicure and the whole time we sat in silence. She was super quick and left mid way to go work on someone elses nails without even saying anything. When she finally came back and finished up my nails she just walked straight to the register without saying or even acknowledging me. NEVER going back there.

Such a shame. I dont know if theyre under new managment or what. I tried to ask but nobody understands English. I used to love the place, but they recently lost my business. I wish the people from 6 months ago was still there. On top of no english, its not a relaxing environment at all. The last two times a little girl was watching a show in another language very loudly. Just not what I want when I want to go to a nail salon. A new one just down the street opened, Im going to have to try them.

They use dirty tools and the people working there are completely unprofessional and rude. I took my stepdaughter there and not only did we leave with wet nails that looked nothing like the pictures we showed them, but they were clearly talking about my stepdaughter in a foreign language right in front of us. The men who work there were looking at my stepdaughter and talking and laughing and then asked how old she was and after being told that shes 10 went back to talking and laughing with each other while looking and pointing at her. This is the first review Ive ever written, but they made us feel so uncomfortable I felt I had to do something.

This nails salon very relaxing when i come in . i got arcylic with no chip color on top, it last for longtime . i very like it., HIGH RECOMEND, GOOD PLACE TO COME

Worst place ever! DO NOT GO HERE! I went here yesterday for a no chip pedicure and it was the worst experience of my life. The water was scorching hot, the girl was really rough, she cut my nail really weirdly and dug so far that she cut my toe really bad. Now a day later my toe is still bleeding and very swollen!

I moved to dekalb recently to attend NIU and have came here too many times for acrylic full sets/fill ins. I tried to give them a chance because the nails looked good cosmetically. After months of having multiple nails break off within 4 days EVERY TIME I got my nails done, I couldn’t even waste my time getting acrylics there anymore. I’ve had fake nails for 5+ years straight and have never had this problem at other salons. They’re suspiciously quick putting on a full set... and I understand why. The nails have never ever stayed on. Would not recommend at all

It depends on who you prefer for your pedi and mani some of them rush and the results are horrible

I came in for a mani-pedi and eyebrow wax. Katie did my fingernails, and a male did my toenails. Katie waxed my brows well. My eyebrows are kind of uneven, but are easily corrected with pencil. I noticed early on that hygiene is an issue here. The nail bay that I was sitting next to was dirty. There was debris and residue- perhaps from chemicals or food- all over the wrist cushion. The equipment that was used for my manicure and pedicure was not sterile. Also, the strong chemical odor in the facility caused an allergy attack within 10 minutes of my being in there. Katie was nice enough to provide me with a face mask. I had messed up my left middle fingernail by the time I got to the pedicure station, but the guy that did my pedicure fixed it. It dried up pretty quickly, but its clumped on my nail. Its glitter polish so its not as noticeable, though. If I go back, Ill request sterile equipment.

What a horrible experience. I was told to pick a color and sit in a pedicure chair towards the back. They clearly forgot I was there, because it was slow, and no one came. I would have walked out, but I had a gift certificate there that I received for my bday. After about a half hr of just sitting there watching them on their phones, finally a lady walked by and asked me if I was waiting. I said yes, and she began yelling something towards the front to her coworkers. It was disappointing because she skipped steps, and rushed through. I also got a manicure and she kept messing up the thumb. Then once I got in my car, I notice nail polish on my skin around my toes. I was the worst pedicure I have ever gotten. I wish I didnt tip her so good. My bday present was a bad experience, but atleast I know, never to go there again.
