First and foremost I would like to say that Gs R fixed my issue and the repair is sound. However, we had problems during the process after the initial repair was made and Gs R never followed through with what I asked them to.We had Chad as mentioned in a previous review. He was very grumpy and didnt seem like he wanted to be in my house, but answered all my questions and when he repaired my tub catch I thought all was well. I felt confident in Gs R reputation that I did not feel the need to check the repair work after speaking with Chad telling me all was good, I closed the wall up and thought that was that.Few days later after my wife took a shower we were getting a HUGE water leak from the area that was repaired. I did my due diligence to make sure I wasnt at fault for something, and after doing a few things and still having a leak, I opened the wall back up to inspect the work that was done. Well the plumber had opened the top of our drain catch but BROKE the lid and just SET it on top of the catch, broken and not sealed at all, allowing water to leak of the catch got full.Here is the part where Gs R shined, they backed up the bad work 100%, came to my house quickly after we returned from a vacation and fixed the problem. Didnt even charge me for the part that was not charged previously, which I told them I would be more than happy to pay for. Repair is perfect and my issue is resolved.After the plumber left, I was working with a lady in the office and had expressed my concern that since water had leaked in between a floor and ceiling, that mold could present itself at a later date. I had requested someone come out and clean up the area so hopefully prevent that since this error was caused by a plumber they sent out. I also asked if they could possibly pay for another company to come and make sure mold did not grow in this area by cleaning. The woman I was working with in the office told me I will have to talk to the owner and after we ended our call I have not heard from them again, this was over a month ago. The area has since been cleaned at an additional expense to us and we consider the matter closed.Im happy with the repair, but really not happy with how the after care was handled. We had significant water leakage onto wood trim, doors, and in the floor/ceiling between our 2nd and 1st floor, I do not think asking them to clean a mistake made by one of their contracted plumbers was too much to ask. Personally I will not use Gs R Pluming again.

Chad was over an hour late without calling, after finally showing up and “completing“ the job he overbilled us for an additional 45 minutes. Come to find out two days later that he did not do the job correctly and after calling and rescheduling, they completely missed the follow up appointment without so much as a call. I would use literally anybody but these guys moving forward.

Had a Great experience with Gs R. Had old cast iron pipes that had rotted and cracked. Pete replaced the piping with new pvc in a difficult area and did a fantastic job, faster than I could have imagined. Quality, professional work above and beyond what I expected. Give that man a raise!

Pete, Joe, and Jeff are the best team I’ve worked with. They stepped in to fix a situation that was not their doing and went far above what was expected of them. Jeff was great at putting the resources together and Pete and Joe froze their butts off for hours in single digit temps, while remaining completely professional, to get the job done. I have no idea why someone would use anyone else. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. Thanks Pete, Joe, and Jeff!

David Was over recently to run a gas line. It was a complex job but David did an excellent job and paid attention to all the details in and did it the right way.

Came out for repairs racked up a large bill fast. Asked for a overhead sewage system quote. But do to the city causing delays in performing the work the over head system was postponed. After a year of waiting, I re-called for them to resend a quote or revise the quote since it had been so long. Well that back fired and now they want me to pay again for them to come out and rescope our system that they had already charged us $500 for. They are over priced and dont give a rats A about the customer. Ill be making sure to make it known to the kishwaukee water and their new up and coming assistance program that Gs and R is not worth working with.

John from G’s R came and immediately fixed the toilet/shower draining issues and assessed, quoted the replacing of the pipes for the kitchen/utility drain and had it fixed quickly. I had an appointment scheduled for a Tuesday in August 2020, but instead I received a call to let me know they had a job thatd make it impossible to come that day. Mr. Lukas, however, guided me with the problem I had with my garbage disposal and explained that it was probably in need of a reset. On the phone, he told me what to do... and that was it! Never did I have this kind of help for a plumbing problem: quick, efficient and at no cost! Now, not only did I learn what to do in the future but Ill remain a customer of Gs R Plumbing for as long as I live in DeKalb, IL. I called Gs R Plumbing to analyze an issue pertaining to our pipe and septic tank. Gs R Plumbing sent Pete to the site and it was a pleasant experience. He was timely in arrival, knowledgeable, affable, and patient in answering all of my questions (many of them dumb). Gs R is a reputable company and Im sure everyone that they dispatch to jobs is capable and knowledgeable, but I had a good experience with Pete and I will request for him specifically should we need assistance in the future. Also, as an honorable mention, kudos to the woman that answered my call and coordinated Petes visit. She was nice, showed an appropriate level of contrition and urgency for our situation, and she was able to move some things around so that she could send someone out to us sooner than originally planned. Kicking myself that I dont remember her name.*Note: Im not sure what the cost of this service was, nor what the market rate is for the same service by other plumbing companies. Im only speaking to the actual service we received and the particular person that provided it. Also, the only reason why I didnt rate it with five stars is due to a prior matter involving Gs R for a completely different project. Nothing too bad, but I was gathering quotes for another project, from earlier this year, which required piping and gas; Gs R was the highest quote by such a margin, that it was a complete outlier (I mean...a complete, complete outlier). I know that event has nothing to do with my recent experience with them, but its my reason nonetheless. Fair or unfair. Still seems like a good company though.

I have had a tremendous experience with GsR in general, and most recently, Pete, in particular. Pete visited on an emergency call (twice) and at the same time discovered the reason for the lack of heat in one part of our house. He followed up multiple times, which I really appreciated! He went beyond what any other plumber would of done. He could of just replaced the seal ring and been gone. He didn’t do that. He investigated and found that the whole bathroom floor was rotted out and was dangerous to use. He removed toilet and sink and vanity so contractor didn’t have to waste their time removing them. He went beyond again when he carried them both down to the basement from the second floor and screwed the door shut so no one in the house would get hurt. Pete is amazing. I’m telling everyone I know to use him.

I had a leaking cistern in my bathroom toilet late at night which was overflowing on to the floor, I tried at least six supposedly 24 hr plumbers without any joy. Despite not being on call that night Chris talked me through turning off the cistern water flow independent of the stop cock. He then spent most of next morning not only fixing problems with the toilet cistern but also at my wifes request fixing kitchen plumbing (botched by Magnum kitchens); his charges were also extremely reasonable.I have no hesitation in recommending Chris as hard working, conscientious and honest.

We were with out a toilet. We called Gs R and Pete was here with in an hour and went above and beyond fixing our problem! Very affordable and excellent customer service. We also got a call after the fact to make sure our toilet was running well. They will be the first we call for our plumbing needs! He also cut out a water damaged part under our sink so we could see if the leaking would continue under the sink as well so we can better diagnose our issues. Seriously havent had a better job done . I am almost certain most of these reviews are fake! These people lie about calling you when they havent. they show up at random and leave in only a few minutes. The job wasnt even close to fixed when they finally came back and finished it. Cost over 500. When I asked them to come back and fix the leaking pipe the lady said we already fixed it sorry were not coming back. I was shocked they are literally trying to rob people out here watch out!

Weve used Gs R for many years, and the new owners/team seem to be carrying on the established tradition of reliable and skilled service. We had back-to-back visits one recent morning--one for HVAC, the other for plumbing. I didnt get the HVAC fellows name, but he and plumber Pete each quickly determined what was needed and got it done in short order. Both were very friendly and clearly responded to any/all questions we asked.

Today I had a problem and Pete showed up on time, diagnosed the trouble and fixed it perfectly. He explained so I could understand and gave me some helpful tips as well. Highly recommended.

The guy said he would call a plumber from the company and ask if he could help. That was at 6:51. He messaged the plumber at 8:50. Horrible customer service. Dont call them!!!
