I have been going to Chuck’s for the last three years and have always been happy with the experience. The shop has a classic barbershop feel and community, prices are reasonable, and online booking is super convenient. Location is close to Emory, too!

I used to come here once in a while before covid and the place was great. Not anymore…I got a haircut from the gentleman at the far end of the shop.My hair cut is a faded side with layers on top. It’s a pretty straightforward haircut.The fade was a 1.5 down to a 0 but he just did 1.5 the whole way. The hair wasn’t blended into the top.The layers were even worse. He pushed my hair back and cut in two spots. My hair doesn’t sit the same way anymoreI asked him to line up my hair line and blend my side beard to my hair line. He didn’t even use a straight blade to do it. He just used a trimmer and went too far up my hairline and didn’t blend the beard. The hairline looked awful.Ended up having to go to another shop to get lined up

FINALLY, after 15 years of trying to find a shop to cut give me recommendations/cut my hair without ripping me off, I have been blessed with having tried a walk in to the place I intend on walking into for the rest of my life. Got my hair cut by Alex G. and the man knows what hes talking about! He absolutely knows understands the aesthetics of a cut, and will provide info (if you want it). Cant wait to go back and tell him that my wife didnt chuckle at me after seeing a fresh cut, for the first time in 3 years!

When was the last time you visited a REAL barber shop? Lina gave me a haircut, warm lather on the back of my neck, straight razor to get it smooth. A perfect line too. This little spot on the road is a MUST STOP HERE kind of place. Creative cuts or a nice trim. A face full of warm lather and heated moist towels for the smoothest shave youve ever had before that night out. Smiling faces too! What a great establishment.

I was able to walk in and be seen. I was looking for a place for a nice shave, head and face. Marina took care of me. Great neighborhood family feel. Everyone was super nice and talking to the employees and other patrons like Ive known them forever. I just had surgery so hadnt been able to shave for 5 days. They made me feel human again. I will be back and bring people with me. Great service with great prices. Ive been to other shops in the past. Some are very pretentious and carry the high price tag. This place gave me all the time I needed and never felt uncomfortable even though I came in in lounge pants and a drainage tube bag under my shirt. Awesome people, awesome jem of a place. Very happy I found it!

Good cut, great conversation!I had a new beard, and didnt know how to get it trimmed. What number head to trim it with, how to line it, the mustache, so on, so forth.. They helped answer questions, make good suggestions,... I will go back.

Went there today. I got my favorite Air Force Regulation 35-10 haircut! Great visit, great haircut. Additionally the folks make you feel like barbers used to in the 1970s. There is no Its not personal, its business like at chain barbers; most notably, Great Clips.

Ive lived in Atlanta for two years and have not been able to find a place to get a quality haircut. Not only did I get the best haircut Ive ever gotten here, they also do it at a very reasonable price. I go to Lina who is great at fading/tapering close to the skin which is hard to find these days. Its rare to find a genuine, classic barbershop anymore. Chuck Simon is a simple yet cozy shop far removed from the Mainstreet buzz. Alexander cut my hair today and had a soft and deft touch. He was as meticulous ad he was quick. He even made my pride and joy face-pet-of-a-beard look ready for show. Great old school barber shop in the N Druid Hills neighborhood. All the barbers are awesome and do great work on my hair.. especially Lina. Theres a lot of history here as well. Theres a gallery on the wall of all of Chucks longtime clients. Chuck is a cool cat as well.💈💈💈

Hands down the best barbershop in Atlanta. I recently moved from Brooklyn and dreaded the search for a new barber. I went to at least six or seven other barbers and shops; each had no idea what I was asking for. Each time I left with a horrible cut. This hasn’t been the case with Chuck Simon’s, they have the best barbers with the most rounded skill set and experience.Lina is hands down the best. Nobody cuts better. Of course everyone at the shop are very kind and have awesome customer service. I’ve only been cut by one other barber, Alex, he’s really good too. However, nobody does it better than Lina. Make a reservation! Lina is very popular and usually has a long queue of loyal patrons.

Traditional barbershop run by the Owner. They have 5-6 solids barbers depending on your preference. I had my last barber for 15 years and fortunately I found Chuck after moving to ATL. Highly recommended Chuck, my kids love him as well.

My son recommended Chuck Simons Barber Shop to me, and Im glad he did. I used to go to Great Clips or Supercuts (both pretty much the same thing) but at Chucks, I get a better haircut with better service. I like Lina. Alexander did a really good job, too. And Chuck remembers who I am and is always friendly. Theyre the kind of barber shop I remember growing up.

The only reason this isnt a 5 is because I have (as other posters have mentioned) gotten fades that were not done well. The first two times I went in it was great. The third time it was pretty bad. There was a pretty serious line instead of a gradual fade. I didnt go back for about six months. I decided to give it another try and a guy named Chris cut my hair. It was a great cut (the best Ive had anywhere in a long time). To the owner of this establishment, if you could post some kind of regular schedule where people could rely on a certain barber being there then I would definitely be in a lot more frequently. Chris gave me a card with his number (to verify he was there) but I seem to have misplaced it.Update: I returned and Alex gave me a fade that was excellent. In the future I will be waiting for him specifically as it was a great cut.

Im a big fan of this place. Chucks an extremely nice guy. The barber shop has an old fashioned feel to it with the checkered floors. There is an old television to watch while you are waiting. I never have to wait that long though.I read the review about the other barbers not giving good haircuts. Thats not true. Alex does a good job. He once turned the television my way while I was getting a haircut to accomodate me.And prices? Theyre under $20 still which is definitely affordable. Its just a fact of life. Prices will rise due to inflation.

Chuck is the man. The reviews on here speak to how he treats his customers and the great business hes running. This is one of the best deals for a quality haircut and the place has an authentic old school barber shop feel.

Chuck owns an institution. The store has been spruced up but still maintains the traditional barber shop feel. The staff are very consistent, so you dont have to worry about quality variations like you do at the chain stores when you never know who will cut your hair. Chuck also takes after hours appointments which is convenient.

Generally speaking I don’t enjoy going to the barbershop, but Chuck’s is different. This is an old school barbershop that cultivates community and enjoys its much deserved customer loyalty. Ive had my beard cut at 3-4 different barbers looking for the right barber for me. I wanted so badly for this place to be my local barber shop of choice, but the woman who cut my beard was not listed on the website and I cannot believe what just happened to my beard.I went in to have the lines cleaned up and the sides blended as I raise my cheeklines and this woman buzzed my entire beard to probably a #2 and brought the lines down even lower than they were before, and they were HORRIBLY uneven at that. Had to cut my entire beard off, which was probably 2-3 months worth of growth, gone. I honestly could have done better with my eyes closed. These are not style preferences, the lines are uneven and the length isnt even uniform considering she buzzed it all...I want to try again with someone who knows what the hell they are doing but right now I am so upset, disappointed, and angry with this place. If you decide to go here, maybe schedule an appointment with someone, because my walk-in was the absolute worst barber experience Ive ever had. Maybe Ill try again with someone else once I grow my entire beard back, but still very disappointed that this woman was allowed to cut my beard when she was this bad at it.

Today was my first day ever visiting Chucks shop. The entire staff was very outgoing and Pam did a Great job on doing exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be making this my regular barbershop.

The lady who cut my hair (I believe her name was Faith) just flat out didnt do what I told her. I ask for skinny sideburns, a 2 on top faded to a 1 on the sides. She cut the 1 on the sides almost to the top of my head (not a fade), was too soft & cautious when lining me up so the lineup job was poor, and didnt give me the skinny side burns like I asked. Then when I pay, the sign says $16 for a haircut & beard trim... yet I never got offered or given a beard trim? Finally, Chuck the owner talked to me more than Faith herself (which was just a greeting by the way). Wheres the hospitality? Im sorry, but I wont be returning here. Overpriced for subpar service and hospitality.

Have been coming here since I was 8 years old or so. Love the people that work there and they are like family. If I am traveling I will let my hair grow out just to wait to have Chuck or Alex cut it right.

I used to get my haircut by Alex when I worked 5 minutes away. I am now retired and try to schedule my trips to Decatur around haircut time. I live 60 miles away but it is worth the trip to get a haircut from Alex. He is very meticulous and gives a great haircut.

This was 10 years ago so take it with a grain of kosher salt. I went twice. The first time Chuck was friendly. We talked about music and playing bass. The second time, his shop was crowded and everyone but me was a conservative Jew (the boys had payot). The other patrons made be feel with their snickers and glances that I had crashed their party. Chuck seemed tense and irritated and didnt try to put me at ease.
