I went into Kay Jewelers in the Dayton Mall to get my rings cleaned. The lady who took my rings to clean them pointed out a showcase with jewelry that was priced 40% off. Something caught my eye that would make a good gift for my daughter. The sales lady never pushed or tried to get me to buy more or anything like that. It was a very pleasant experience.

Worked with Russell Martin start to finish for my fiances engagement ring.We shopped together and she picked a setting and style she preferred and I chose the diamond. It was a custom job and Russell took our request and created an incredible end product. He sent custom drawings as well as molds, updating me throughout the process. When it was time to pick up the ring, Russell walked me through the warranty and insurance process to make sure I know what to do to guarantee coverage if anything happens. Thrilled with the ring, service, and timeliness. Will be using Russell for further jewelry purchases!

Its my preferred jeweler. My son picked out a necklace for his mom for her birthday. After choosing it the jeweler asked me if I was familiar with the protection plan. I told him yes and My son says, Im not. So the guy took the time and explained it to him. Thats good service right there. THAT is why theyre my preferred jewelery.

Horrible experience. If you do have to come here, only work with Laura. She is so kind and helpful and will listen to your complaints. I inherited a ring from my mother in law, the warranty is thru Kays and I had a prong break off. Long story short, it had to be sent out 5 times to get it back in its original condition. Kays and the other staff were awful, rude and were okay with me accepting a ring where my main diamond was completely off center. Do not come here.But once again, Laura was great. She deserves a huge raise, award or something.

The Dayton mall store is the only one I will go to, The manager Russel and consultant Sherry are the absolute best, they always make my visit so personal I feel like I’m visiting old friends, they see me walking from across the mall and are already getting my stuff together if I’m picking something up!

The staff here are wonderful and very attentive to their customers. Sharon is a delight when I see her and I always feel like a priority. Today I had a situation in regards to an item I had asked about having sent in for an estimate to be fixed that ended up being sent in and fixed for twice the amount I had been quoted. The manager Russel helped me to resolve this immediately and truly made me feel like a valuable customer. I am very thankful to have the pleasure of having them at the mall location where I visit. Never thought Id say this about a corporate jewelry store but I wont go anywhere else!

I had visited family over the weekend and soaked in a hot tub where my silver wedding rings became completely tarnished. The earliest I could stop by a jewelry store for a cleaning was super late this evening. We got to Kay’s just at closing time. I thought I would have to come back later, but Jessica sweetly said, “Nonsense! I can take care of them right now.” We were there until 10 past closing time talking with her as she graciously cleaned my rings for me. She didn’t even rush through! She made SURE my rings were sparking. Thank you so much, Jessica! Such amazing customer service!! We will definitely be back here for future purchases.

My issue with Signet Jewelers is twofold. 1) Russell, Store Manager of Kay Jewelers in Dayton, OH (Dayton Mall location) I came to this store in February with my fiancé to purchase a wedding band for myself. There, I located the ring I wanted, however, they did not have the ring in my size. Russell suggested I purchase the ring that day, and that he would order the ring I needed in my size, and wed be able to exchange the rings. Russell was supposed to call and update me that Tuesday, but he did not. I called Wednesday, and he was supposed to call me back on Thursday. Once again, he did not. This pattern continued throughout the entire period of me attempting to get the correctly sized wedding band. Fortunately, I did receive the new wedding band in March. Unfortunately, they ordered the wrong size. And the process began again. I do excuse their inability to contact me during their COVID-19 related absence, however, even upon returning, Russell still failed to contact me or provide me with an update of any kind, unless I called the store myself, or went to inquire in person. The last straw was when I called to check on the status of my 2nd reorder, I was told by Russell that the vendor which supplied the ring was closed. I called a second Kay Jewelers, and determined that to be a lie. Upon learning this, I went to the Kay Jewelers in Dayton Mall and demanded a refund, which I was promptly given. While Russell is undoubtedly a nice guy, he completely failed in terms of customer service throughout these last 4 months.

Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Well organized and a good selection of products. All of those leaving a bad review havent read the FINE PRINT when they purchase, thats why you buy warranties to insure your purchase, especially expensive jewelry. Also, if the staff is busy then they are busy, just wait your turn to be helped. They have reasonable prices and the staff is willing to work with you on pricing. Would recommend.

Haven’t had my set six months yet and a diamond already fell out...my husband’s wedding band didn’t even come in until after our wedding...also his was a black ring with silver around it and he hasn’t had his six months yet and all the black is gone! I just called them about my wedding set and was denied letting me know any information about my purchase over the phone saying I had to drive all the way up there to get any information....this place is a JOKE! Should have got the set at Jared! These rings are supposed to last an individual a life time and they haven’t even lasted the first six months of our marriage....do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase from this cheap place

Since I have to give a star I will, but honestly wish I could give this place a Zero star! I am so completely unhappy with my engagement ring. Ive had my diamonds fall out 3 different times and I JUST got my ring back and a diamond popped out onto my counter top!!!! I was just standing there!! I had to wait the last time for almost 2 months bc they had to send my ring to some where in Europe, and I patiently waited, and I seriously just got it back and its already broke again!! I could understand if it got caught on something but I was just standing there! I will NEVER buy anything from Kays ever again nor suggest anyone to this company!!!

There was a older lady she speaks a different language, she was very rude, i was looking for a ring from a internet add she told me to step out front so i could look for it . while looking for it i guess i took to long she walk behind me sorry we dont have it, but she didnt even look for what i was asking for, she rush me from the time i got in there as if i had no money or a was a thief, i felt so uncomfortable i just bought the 1st neckless i saw so i could hurry and leave for vday .. I dont recommend kays in the dayton mall all the female employees are rude except 1 younger lady . if your black u will feel discriminated

I went into Kay to have my necklace repaired after I had it torn off my neck. The guy helping me was very friendly, almost too friendly but at least he was friendly. He informed me my necklace had stretched but never told me how much it had stretched. After waiting over 2 weeks and not hearing anything from Kay, I stopped in the mall to check on the status. Turns out, my necklace has been there for a while. I get my necklace home and put the charm on it and find out that my chain is much longer than I remember. A bit irritated, I take my necklace back to Kay and have them look at it. They had repaired my necklace at the length it was stretched to instead of repairing it its original length. The gentlemen I dealt with the second time was very patient with me and very apologetic. He actually made my entire experience not so dreadful. Overall, I was upset with all the miscommunication but in the end, Colin (the second guy that helped me) made up for all that with his customer service. So, if you stop in Kay Jewelers, ask for Colin!!!!

After buying a watch from Macys and 3 days later, having a lot of issues getting links taken out due to not having a receipt.. I decided to walk over to Kays and I explained the situation. Kay Jeweler’s and their staff, especially Russel, made our wedding perfect. My fiancé wanted to get my engagement ring by himself so the day he proposed I would be completely shocked. Russel asked my fiancé what I had liked on Pinterest and found the perfect ring! When we went to order the wedding bands Russel helped us find the perfect rings and communicated through the whole process. My mind was at ease that the wedding bands were going to make it in time for the wedding because, Russel updated us when it made it to the designer, then when they working on it, and then when it was going to be sent. I couldn’t be happier with their service and I would definitely recommend buying your jewelry from them!

Went to buy my husband a tungsten carbide ring for his birthday and the guy who sold it to me assured me it was a tungsten carbide ring. Got it home and gave it to him and he loves it. But what my husband said next shocked me, he said if this is a tungsten carbide ring why does it say STAINLESS STEEL MADE IN CHINA on the inside? We went up there (Dayton Mall) and the girl with the tattoos on her chest said she doesnt know why he said that. Took my info and was going to give it to manager. I called 8 times and every time he was with a customer. Finally after a call back from him He said he would give me free 3 yrs of warranty and e mail me a receipt! Well no receipt and e mail. Attempted several more calls and guess what manager is now on vacation!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL WE SO BUSINESS WITH KAY JEWELERS and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone!!!!

My wife-to-be took her 3 week old ring in to get inspected and cleaned, and the young guy who handled it damaged the prong. Upon questioning him about damaged prong, he soundly denied any responsibility then had the sheer audacity to suggest she pay an extra $450 to have the prongs upgraded to platinum. After a quick phone call to me, and to another jeweler, she decided to have the ring sent in for repairs. After 10 days, they called to say her ring came back but wasnt up to their standards and sent it back out--without her consent. When asked why they acted without transparency in the process each employee acted like they were doing us a favor. After two weeks, I spoke to the manager, Cole (who left a 5 star review for this location). He told me the ring was sent from the repair shop on Thursday and would be in Friday or Saturday. When I called on Friday night to follow up, he again spoke to the repair shop and said it was finished today and will be sent out tomorrow. He lied to me even after acknowledging that we had spoke only a day prior. Waste of money, waste of time, and now the wife-to-be is upset. Thanks Kay Jewelers.

Never purchasing anything here ever again. Gave them my Neil lane ring to size down one size in July of 2017. After 4 months went by, I called multiple times leaving messages for the manager, Russel, never got a call back. About a month later I finally went in the store and talked to russel myself. He claimed he never got any of my messages, even though I left more than 6. I was then told it would “for sure” be in by December 15. It is now February 2018.

I literally could not be less satisfied with my experience with Kay. I’ve had my engagement ring for three years and in that timeframe have last more than a dozen diamonds. I’ve lost count. My ring has been in the shop more than it has been on my finger at this point. Seriously, go somewhere else

Absolutely AWFUL. I will not be trusting them with my jewelry. After inspecting my rings for the 6 month check up, the lady put my ring (that was my grandmothers) in the cleaner and gave it back. As I was walking out of the store I noticed a diamond was missing. I took it back to her and they emptied the cleaner and found my diamond. First issue: how did they not notice my diamond was loose when they checked it ? So they sent it out to put the diamond back in, promised date was Feb 3rd. A week after the promised date I called asking the whereabouts of my ring. The woman said your diamond was chipped, they had to order a new one. Itll be in the 21st which brings me to my second issue: when were they going to tell me my ring was going to be 3 weeks late? And why did they not notice it had a chip in it when they inspected it !? The next day, I called them and asked them if they could send my old diamond back with my ring (just in case they did not put a real diamond in my ring). The man said he would call the company and let me know. Its been over a week and he has not called me back. Theyve had my ring for almost a month. It was supposed to be gone for less than 2 weeks.

I had purchased a necklace and earring set for my wife as a gift for Christmas . I was uncertain if she would like the style of earrings but I was assured by the salesman that if for any reason she did not like the earrings they could be returned or exchanged nonproblem for up to 90 days. Well she did not like them and wanted to return for a refund . We took the earrings back and was informed they did not have enough cash in the drawer to refund the earrings as they had just opened ($150.00) We were asked to return in 2 hrs. We came back 3 hrs later and again they had not made enough sales to cover a refund, meanwhile the salesman had ripped up the warranty paper saying we would not need them anyway. He also informed us that the return policy was 30 days and only had a few days left. He offered to send a corporate check via snail mail to which I declined. He then became rude and stated we better figure it out before the return period expires. Extremely poor customer service from a store I have spent thousands of dollars at over the years. I will not shop here again. I called corporate and surprisingly they had the same poor service. Very disappointed in their service.

Dishonest location. Cole will lie straight to your face. Calles to verify a product was in stock, arrive 20 minutes later and they do not have it. Run to any other store but do not go here unless you like to deal with dishonest people.
