Watch out!!! These people are straight up thieves. Cancelled membership 5 months ago still getting charged over and over again. Couldn’t get an answer as to why. There are more advanced gyms that aren’t as overcrowded as this one is anyway… RUN away!!!

Half a decade of working out here under the worst circumstances and profiling from many of the staff.Issues were not addressed personally but rather by restricting access and dirty looks.Don’t know why I stayed for so long with the unprofessionalism that is practiced by the staff and the owner as well.Was respectful to all of the workers; however, was treated with disdain without evident cause.Do NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE A BLACK MALE

Great gym. Lots of amenities. With the weather warming up it they still keep the heat on 70 degrees. It would help out a lot if the owner could possibly cut the heat down to 68 or lower or just turn it off all together. With these days getting up into the 60s and 70s it is hard to work out in a gym with such hot and stuffy air. Especially when there is 10 plus people working out at all times in the building. There are also a lot of leaks in the ceiling that need to be patched up too. Water will drip on your forehead while working out on a rainy day. Love this gym just small things matter. Great staff!

I was looking for a place where I can have a great workout, and I decided to check the place out...the moment I was greeted, I realized that it was perfect place....I felt welcome, and it reminded me of my powerlifting days!

The past few weeks have been uncomfortably hot when trying to work out in this gym. I even go late at night and they have fans going but it really doesn’t make much of a difference. On the positive side, there is a nice staff and a variety of equipment but it is almost intolerable to deal with such temperatures when trying to work out.

Then the software comment applies to your processing company. The billing is monthly is it not? so I don’t know why you are referencing yearly billing. Google doesn’t allow image hosting to external websites I would be happy to screen shot the month where I was double charged, and back track to exhibit the fault. That would once again have the last 4 of my card number next to the charge which would show where my card number didn’t change, + sufficient money in my account. No there wasn’t any food or drink, these were whole month charges for what the memberships price was. I feel I did justice to the last point you made by my other writing.

The pure unprofessionalism of the lady at the front is appalling . (I can tell she’s new)I’ve been a member at this gym for 6 years longer than the owner and his employee. The disrespect she came at me was like that of a scorn wife.I’m someone who brought at least 9 of my friends to this gym and when on to get membership through the years .Spoke with the owner few times (Jim) but if he is ok with his employees acting like this then I don’t know what to tell you.Over all you get a good workout in if you don’t mind them randomly charging you card random fees and rude staff.Don’t argue with the staff just walk away they are brainless.

Great experience! I have been working out in this gym with my dad since September 2019! Couldnt ask for a better gym thats local (pun intended)

When visiting my buddy, he brings me here to workout. Very nice gym, small in size & does not make you feel uncomfortable no matter what your workout strength is. If I lived here (from TX), this would be the gym to join rather than one of the national franchise gyms.

This place has a culture problem and it all starts from the top!!!!Setting a culture and environment goes a long way and it all starts with the leadership and direction of the owner/ownership. Owner, has a negative attitude, poor interaction, and doesn’t meet and greet his members. He shows lack of appreciation and commitment to the members, facility, and the gym. Either this guy is under a overwhelming sense of stress or needs to loosen the belt a little, and smile.There has been some positives in this gym I’ve seen though since joining new equipment, clean, and updated Tv’s. 👍

Overall great gym and doesnt try to be anything crazy fancy which is great. Only issue sometimes supplies are limited when going 1st thing in the morning. Minor like towels, paper towels, etc.

I was recently on the hunt for a new gym in the area and came across The Local Gym. Im an avid weight lifter so I was excited about the gym being so close to home and the equipment they provided. But, after two months I discontinued my membership due the unprofessional owner. I am veteran with a disabled veteran tag on my vehicle. I tend to park in the handicap parking spots when theyre not filled. I scanned my card and entered the gym, but was not greeted with a hello like most professional organizations. But was greeted with an unwarranted statement of, I have cop buddies that workout here, and they would have something to say to you if they see you parked there. Not only did he make this bold fact less allegation of me illegally parking in the handicap spot, but he also was engaging about this situation with a random member standing at the desk. Which further showed how unprofessional he is. After he finished talking with the random guy at the desk. I asked him, Why would your cop buddies have something to say? Im a veteran and have a disabled veterans tag. Instead of him simply saying sorry or my apologies. He continued on stating, Well I cant see your tags. Which further confused me about his statement and allegation because he was absolutely right! He couldnt see my tag. I did not back into the parking space and he was sitting at a desk with his back towards the parking lot. He would literally have to get up, walk around the desk, walk out the gym and then walk around my vehicle to see my tag. Which he never did. He just made an unjustified assumption and a threat of his police buddies involvement. Needless to say, I let go and headed towards the locker room. But, as I headed towards the locker room I could hear him continuing to discuss the situation with that same random member at desk even after I told him about my veteran tags. This made me feel more confused, infuriated and somewhat embarrassed what has transpired. I then decided I will not pay my hard earned money to an establishment who lacks professionalism, discriminates and does not value its veterans or paying customer.

Absolutely love this gym. The facilities are beautiful and the amenities make it 100% paying a bit more each month than elsewhere. The environment is also very welcoming and upbeat, super nice staff!

Been working out here for a while. Ill start with the good. I really like the amount of free weight equipment they have, multiple squat racks, etc. Staff and owner are all super nice. It never gets over-crowded.However, my only issue is that I have never seen anyone clean a piece of equipment after using it. Not the staff or other gym members. I cant tell you how many times Ive gone to use a bench to see pools of sweat. And to be honest, it really doesnt seem like the staff or the owner cares, because they dont enforce it at all. If they enforced the rule about wiping down after use I would continue to go here, if not I will have to go back to the YMCA.

This gym has been my home for the last 3 years. I wasnt really pleased with it until recently. The new owners/management/staff are excellent. They are very friendly and helpful. The new configuration of the gym is hands down the best it has ever been. The cleanliness is top notch. Feel free to come see for your self this gym will not disappoint !!!!

Its close and relatively inexpensive excluding a maintenance fee which is tacked on every year.

I’ve been working out in this gym for almost 6 years and can’t believe how much progress there’s been in a few short weeks. It’s like an entirely new facility! When you open the door it smells clean instead of smelling like a dirty sock. The bathrooms stay clean, the floor is vacuumed, and the music is different! Absolutely love what they’ve done, can’t wait to see more changes at the local gym.

I’ve been going here for years, it has recently come under new management and all I can say is WOW! The new owners have cleaned it up big time. The kids area had been repainted, re carpeted, and is somewhere I would actually bring my kids now. The bathrooms are cleaner, the equipment is cleaner, you can tell they care. One of the new owners, Jim is a character, he will make you feel like you’ve known him for years as soon as you walk in. Can’t wait to see what else is in the future. Glad these guys took it over.

This gym has racist employees. Do not go there if you don’t want to feel out of place or judged because of the color of your skin.

A few years ago this gym was my home! It was one huge gym fam and everyone was so nice and welcoming! My husband and I left after it started to go downhill. It was dirty and not taken care of. Since it been under new ownership we have came back and the atmosphere is so much better! As soon as you walk in, you can see that it is being taken are of and appreciated! Great gym and great location! Big things to come!

PLEASE DO NOT READ ANY REVIEWS BEFORE 12/16/2017. MOMENTUM FITNESS CLOSED AND THE NEW GYM CALLED THE LOCAL GYM IS WONDERFUL!!!! It has been taken over and revamped and cleaned by 2 previous members!!!! It is one of the nicer family gyms in the area offering child care, classes, cardio, free weights and circuit training! They have trainers and boot camp starting soon also!!!

They have a racist woman working from them and I messaged them wifh no response back from the Facebook page.

AWFUL customer service. Racist employees. They welcome racist customers and enable them.

Just became a new member, I was a member previously when it was called Momentum which was horribly managed and absolutely nasty. The new owners have completely turned the place around, it is now very clean and the equipment is very well maintained! I am highly impressed at how it is now!

We went there for several weeks because we had no other option in this area that had a kids zone. However the place is filthy, it looked like they never cleaned, other than take the trash out. Work out equipment were everywhere, a mess. I only came back because we had to train and Katie, the lady that watched my kids was really sweet, but I always walked away beating myself up for leaving my kids in such a dirty place. Some of the customers were really nice people, but other than that, nothing.This side of town deserves a good gym with a kids zone, if they improved their customer service, cleanliness and upgraded a few machines I am sure they would keep and attract more customers.

The new owners are great. The place has really been cleaned up since they have taken over. Our only complaint is that many of the treadmills do not incline. I can only get one about 10% if the time. One of the owners gave me his one day but it is annoying.
