Had to cancel my membership due to covid concerns, but I’m definitely going to be back. Amazing staff. Customer support is the best you’ll find in any gym
First, I dont see any staff doing any cleaning at this gym during the day.Second, beware if you park your car under the trees alongside this gym. Our car was broken into last month. The passenger-side window was cut open with a glass cutter. We went to 24hr Fitness in Addison for 10+ yrs, but had to start going to this one after the Addison location closed in 2020. A few years ago, my wife’s physical therapist warned her not to walk by herself to her car after dusk at the Royal location because there had been incidents. We had seen a security car patrolling in the parking lot, but not lately.
Things I like about this gym is:Open till 11 pm weekdays abs weekend.Closer to place I live. Not over crowded.Has 5 weight lifting stations.Nice green turf area for floor workouts.
I had a 3 day guest pass and I was denied entry. The gym was not over crowded. I have been a member for over 10 years. The gym did not work to accommodate me. I would recommend another going to another gym.
So much nicer staff and alot cleaner here then most 24.
Great location -easily accessible and plenty of parking which is great as many gyms lack parking. Its also pretty secure, as theres several other businesses in strip.Cleanliness exceeded my expectations, especially since the staff is pretty lean, especially on the weekends.I like the variety of drinks and little things you may forget to bring with you -like gloves! Theyre pretty reasonably priced too.I appreciate how well the facility seems to be taken care of -props to the facilities guy (or gal)!I typically use a different 24, but the staff here is more dependable and welcoming. In particular, Hector is always going above and beyond from what I see as the set standard by 24.
BRING YOUR WRENCH! You will need it for all the broken/non-operable equipment. Most of the stairclimbers and treadmills are Not balanced so they bounce, which is hard on the joints. The padding on stationary equipment is torn so you might get scratched. Ive had to tighten screws myself just to ensure weights were not going to fall on me. Instead of painting the office they should invest in an equipment repair person. I am forced to come to this 24 since they closed other ones that were closer to my house.
It was great to be back inside a 24 hour gym with no restrictions to work out! Sadly, my favorite Super Sport location did not re-open after the bankruptcy situation; but this Sport will do.
It has a convenient location. The parking lot is well lit. Its an older 24 Hour Fitness, and doesnt alway feel the cleanest. They finally added 3 new squat racks with bumper platforms. They still kept the old squat rack and power cage so theres now 5 places to do barbell squats.
As you see in photos...they have the worst bathrooms in the world...even in third world countries you won’t find like this...why there is no doors or covers so we can have shower??We have to change rooms because there is no soap and showers are not working...I asked to fix it 2 months ago and 2 weeks ago I remind you guysPoor customer servicePoor managementNo one is happyThe jacuzzi is super dirtyNot recommending at all !!!!!!
I drive 10 miles to this place from Oak Lawn 2-3x/week! The equipment might be a tad weathered and dusty, but you still get a rigorous workout. I absolutely adore the ceiling fan because I sweat like a banshee in heat all the time. Aside from that, I treasure the friendly staff who make me feel right at home here...Moreover, I just thrive on the energy or atmosphere about this place...Cannot quite put my finger on it, but I always leave with a smile and upbeat mood! Lastly, the patrons are extremely diverse, cordial, respectful, courteous, diligent, clean, and amenable. Sometimes, I dance erratically and sing like a lunatic here in between sets, yet most are charmed by it and smile instead of calling the cops...hehe...Love you all and thank you 24 hour fitness for establishing a hub in the Dallas metro region
Always enjoy this place the staffs friendly when you walk in and when I go its never too crowded which is great during these times. Masks are required and is enforced if caught not wearing one.
Change the name 24hr to something else since not serving us that hour
I loved this place, highly recommended 👍🏻
This gym is D I R T Y. I dont know if they fired housekeeping or just cant find decent help, but it is filthy. I will be returning to the Mesquite branch where they at least try to keep things clean.
Worst location ever. Smelly, dirty, no cloth dryer. Overall dump. Bad oders everywhere. Sauna wasnt hot at all. Steam room was DISGUSTING.
Been having a membership with this place for 4+. I like the facility only thing I hate is the basketball court sometimes have leaks in the roof so you cant play 5 on 5. The basketball court never gets maintained properly as it should but when everything is working fine this is the best place for competitive recreational basketball.
Lake highlands ghettoManagement could care less and employees standing around doing absolutely nothingPeople sitting on machine doing text and emails for 10 minutes and employees do nothing about it even when it’s pointed out to themMost inconsiderate staff and members have ever seen
No good steppers. Need good steppers when you have to do therapy. Other than that, pretty good facility.
Even though there are time restraints they is very clean and safe. Love the equipment and the layout. Well we cant play basketball sucks though
Friendly staff. Overall good gym for a good workout.
I have been a member for over a year and tried out multiple 24 locations. If you have any issues, speak with the club manager Allie. She is very helpful.
They just remodeled and it way better! More squat racks and they are olympic!!
Very clean and helpful staff
It lets you sign up for 3 day pass to try out gym and they can not honor that promotion inside. Please take it off the website.
This is my favorite location always friendly and professional staff who make sure you have everything you need to get your workout done,
Good day for a workout.
I go here because its cheap and its 24 hours. They have tons of great machines. If thats all that really matters to you, like it is to me, then this is a great deal. The staff is also very friendly. (Minus a few bad apples; that happens everywhere though.)If dirtiness, bugs, shower curtains that dont close all the way, and men who swim and use the sauna in their actual UNDERPANTS are too much for you, however, youll want to go elsewhere.
Clean and not crowded on weekend afternoons
My first and last time here. I have been to several 24h fitness branches, never seen one with so many broken, malfunctioning equipments.Shower area is disgusting! No curtains, cabinets are extremely narrow and you are not only showering with little water coming from broken faucets but also with dirty water coming through broken/cracked plastic separators of your showering neighbors cabinets.I’d fire the manager of this branch on the spot if I were his or her boss!
Its Wonderfull
This gym is big. I like the fact that I can work out while keeping my social distancing here.
Solid facility with warehouse feel. 30 foot ceilings, centralized free weight/machine area, great basketball court, decent lap pool and 4 racquetball courts make this one of the better 24 hr facilities in dfw. Only thing really not up to par in my opinion is the locker rooms.
This location get crazy busy but overall it has a pretty nice set up. Not the five-star 24 hour fitness Ive been too but still a nice gym. Locker rooms are clean. Equipment looks maintained for the most part and the staff seem pretty nice.
The staffs are really friendly and the gym looks great!
Okay facility but I have seen better, most of the equipment is old with rust or broken, each time I have went into the sauna I have seen bugs and the steam room is not usually clean. The station to work out with mats is very small only about 3 or 4 people are able to fit in that space comfortably. Most of the staff are friendly but they should definitely remodel and get this gym up to date.
You get what you pay for... most of the treadmills are broken, good luck finding locks for barbells if lifting heavy weights, and sometimes they dont even show up on time to open the gym. I went there this morning at 5 am and a bunch of people were waiting outside because the staff wasnt even there.
Im glad their open and I want to change my body haha 🤣
They should definitely get new more equipment, most of the machines are old, it gets really busy and there is never space to work out. its a 24 hour fitness i feel like it can be a better gym.
This gym is fine for the most part. I only go on weekends so its never crowded at all. Im always greeted when signing in with a friendly smile and how do you do. They have plenty of equipment and for the most part, the weights are usually where they belong. For the record, I never sign up for classes or work with a trainer. My biggest gripe with this gym and most 24 hours is the locker room. It really needs an update. The tile must be old because it looks incredibly dirty, especially in the steam room and around the pool area. Also, the urinal/toilet area usually smells pretty bad and because of how disgusting some customers are, the stalls are gross (would NEVER go no. 2 here)!!Basically if Im anywhere in the wet area, I make it a point to never touch anything with my bare skin. It really does look and smell that bad. Also, I wish they would replace some of the older floor mats on the gym floor. Its not a big deal really, but you can tell a lot of the mats on the floor are really old because they are either completely worn out or just plain dirty.
Solid location
The equipment and space are nice. The restroom and shower area do need some repair. Staff are nice and polite.
I love coming to this club! Their new renovation makes the working out atmosphere Great :) I usually come late night with my boyfriend after work... we get there and everything seems nice and tidy. The night staff is amazing, theyre good people. Wouldnt recommend going in the evening hours however. Try to avoid the crowd here if youre looking for a serious work out.
It’s on a prime location. In my point of view they should invest in this gym. It has a lot of potential. I feel it keeps getting bad. It needs a lot of remodeling and a good deep cleaning.
Please open the sauna people can wear protection and enjoy it
Join this gym one year ago today best gym on planet Earth
Special gym for everybody very very excellent Imus where is five star👍👌⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💪😍
The GM here is the biggest pushover! All you have to do is complain about something and mention canceling your membership and he bends to your every need! He’s the guy to talk to(the black one with the dreads) if you want a lower rate or a month refunded! I’m telling ya just go in and complain and he’ll do what ever you want. Especially if you’re a pretty girl, he flirts with 8 out of 10 of all the girls that comes in and just gives them free guest passes no questions asked. I’ve seen it multiple times, my friend gets in for free every time she comes
Basic equipment. Works right. Place could be a little cleaner though.Ive also noticed that some of the equipment is really uncomfortable for taller people e.g their legs press platform is too small, so your knees go further out if youre tall. The original adjustable parts were replaced without reference to the original dimensions.
Decent gym and the cleaning has improved. The trainer Kao/Kal needs to learn better customer service and HOW to talk to members. Other than that, i have no issues.Would get 4 stars if not for the interaction i just had with Kao. It’s not what was said, it’s the way it was delivered.
20 dollars for guest pass is absolutely absurd. Garbage place with garbage rules. No way to test it out. No one else come here.
One of the biggest, baddest 24hr Fitness in TX! great, helpful, and knowledge staff. Theyll definitely lead you in the right direction towards your fitness goals.. Cool gym with everything youd need for any type of workout
Worst location ever, staff not friendly, old gym equipment, outdated restrooms, broken machines...
The treadmills here are always out of order. Out of 28 total treadmills 13 dont work at all and 2 have belt issues where the belt skips upon running. I have asked several times for last three months and the response is they will be fixed when corporate office gives us money where are my dues going ? I also work in the corporate world and this is not customer service. Im going to cal corporate this week and if it doesnt get resolved soon then Ill probably switch back to LA or lifetime where they actually maintain their stuff.
This gym is the worst! I was a member, and in November, I put my account on freeze for 3 months. Well, in January I see that $73 were taken out of my bank account from 24HR fitness. When I called to see what was going on they said they had no record of any payment made and I was suppose to get a call from the manager (never called). After so long of trying to figure out where my money went, they realized they had charged me for the month. (Even when they had already said there was no record of payment.) After a month, I finally got my money. And 3 days later, they charge me $100!!! And this time, apparently they cant refund me!! If I could give negative stars I would. This gym is a joke, especially their employees and customer service.
I’ve been going to 24 hr for 4 years now in Houston and in dallas.... the one I usually go to was closed for maintenance so I tried this one... I’m a big swimmer and the pool and hot tub water had tissue and body hair in it.... the showers were all broken and mildew.... it was worse then jail.... never will I go back to this one
I love this location. However, the bath stalls for men are nasty, broken shower heads, no curtains, no dryers or fans, no spinner to dry swimming trunks. Hot tub had little water pressure. Pool is acceptable, but Ive seen gunk floating. Workout space and lighting is very good. I only dread the shower here. Fix the shower and Ill probably give 4 or 5 stars.
I was able to use a weeklong guest pass with 3 friends of mine over the summer and had friendly staff working every day! They were helpful and welcoming. I enjoyed this gym and amount of equipment available, but I do think they could renew some of the machine handles that are a little rough.
Facility has all the equipment you need and the staff is very helpful! Jorge Negrete is the man when it comes to personal training. Im no stranger to pushing myself to accomplishing my goals but its nice having a professional lend a set of eyes to make sure your form is on point, assistance with planning and the extra little bit of motivation to help you reach those goals. Hell make certain your plan guides you in the right direction and make sure you take on only what you can handle - whether youre super fit, newbie or anywhere between. I highly recommend him!
I have to say, over the years this location has gotten so much better, the classes are always great. Jamel teaches the NIKE class and he is wonderful. Nice, helpful and active with the group. I give him a A+ and the gym a B-, the staff could use some customer service classes.
Not the worst 24 hour fittness Ive used in my travels. New water fountains and fairly clean. Still needs to update some machines. Ample parking.
Frame: Review as visiting memberThis 24 Hour Fitness isn’t my home gym.But I’ve visited enough to review... however, I cannot comment on the men’s shower / locker room standards... which seems to have been an issue in other reviews. What I like about it:1. Big open rooms feel great2. Lots of room for free weights: deadlifts, squats and dumbbell work3. Relatively clean compared to other DFW locations4. A few spaces for functional training/mobility/flexibility training5. Staff is friendlyThings I don’t like:1. It can be a busy location (I don’t like crowded gyms - personal preference)2. Would like bigger mobility training space for kettle bell, body weight training, etc.3. Seems to always be a few inconsiderate members leaving weights, hogging machines or racks (but that is not uncommon)Conclusion:I’ll come back anytime my schedule has me passing by and I need to squeeze in a sesh.
This is a good gym but however it can use an update like remodel the locker rooms and shower area but other than that no problems
Well, the gym is very convenient, unfortunately the cleanliness is lacking. The showers don’t work, never any soap, the tread mills are always down. And the drinking fountain has been down for nearly 3 weeks.
Uhhhhhh if it wasn’t for the overall convenience of the 24 hour gym I would only give it 2 stars... the lockers are broken pretty beat up, the restroom stalls are beat up...I will give it 2 whole stars for the weights and equipment.
We came for a 6am cycle class and the gym was locked/closed. Everyone just waiting out in the parking lot and had to go home...😐
I had been a member of 24hours for a long time. I stop going since a lot of the location where not maintain that well. The locker room where not clean and the pool area the same. I have switch gyms when I couldnt find a good gym location.
Rude manager, completely unwilling to even attempt to help with an issue that was 24 hour fitness fault. This is not my normal location, but after being repeatedly reassured by the staff at my gym that my membership would work at any of their clubs I decided to go here once as their class schedule worked better for me, even though it is a bit of a detour. When I signed in there was an issue, as it turns out my membership is for one club only and we had been given wrong information. I tried to reason with the manager, claiming that he could at least let me go to the class this one time, as the fault was with 24 hour fitness, not me. He just shook his head and waited for me to leave, showing complete unwillingness to help solve the issue or even discuss it.I could have lived with the fact that I got the wrong information, if 24 hour fitness had showed some goodwill. But the rude and unhelpful manager at this location has convinced both me and my girlfriend to cancel our membership and look at competitors instead.I would recommend people to steer clear of 24 hour fitness, or at the very least this particular location, until they find a more service minded manager!
Sad that they aren’t open 24 hours anymore. Not even on certain days. Not sure why. I hate going to the gym when it’s packed and I mostly have time to go the gym late nights. Shouldn’t be called 24 hour fitness anymore.
This is not a bad gym. The employees have always been kind. They seem to struggle with keeping equipment operational.
The pool maintenance is supposed to be a weekly affair. However, the debris at the deep end of the swimming pool hardly ever get cleaned. I I complained to the front desk staff. Nothing ever happenedHalf of the shower stalls (4 out of eight) in the female shower area does not have shower curtain to provide privacy. Some of shower stall curtain rods has been rusted through and broken. There is not enough facilities to hang your personal belongings while you are taking the shower.
Great service and has what you need for a great work out!
Great place has all amenities necessary and open 24 hours, used a 3 day free pass from online and it was amazing
Went in to grab a day pass for a quick squat session since I couldnt get to my normal gym. The lady at the desk calls someone to come up and help me... ok whatever. Sales rep comes up and gives me the usual push to get me to sign up. I tell him Im only looking for a day pass, and he says something to the lady at the counter who then tells him they dont do day passes anymore... yeah I get the sales stuff, but this was ridiculous.
Its decent the equipment is kind of dated and it seems small. I also dont like that we dont get towels here. My favorite is off of Preston and park in Plano they have WiFi and towels and a 2 story complex. This one is bleh.
To be honest .. I had the worse experience @ this gym .. Royal lane -DALLAS is one of the worse 24 hour fitnesses . When they sign you up for membership .. they dont explain to you the rates of the cancelation & yearly fees . They explain to you wrong so when you cancel the second thing you know is you have a fee charge on your account . Poor customer service & dirty smelly location. I do not suggest it . Thats why I switched to LA fitness .
Good gym. I would recommend to a friend.
Been going to this location back when it was Magic Johnsons. Now under new owners you can tell. Mens bathroom and showers are HORRIFIC.. busted shower heads.. mildew, no soap. The workout areas are excellent though.
If I could post a negative review I really would. This is the absolutely worse 24 hour fitness I have ever visited. On one visit the plumbing wasnt working, no water, no showers, no toilets, the gym wouldnt even offer free bottled water. They wanted you to sweat and pass out from heat stroke. The next occasion was the worse customer service experience ever. After the group class being cancelled due to the kids club refusing to watch the instructors children, Im not sure what the real issue actually was but James Davis made it his issue to threaten to kick us out because we were making a scene. To make a long story short do yourself a favor and dont even join!!! Ive reached out to corporate and absolutely nothing has been done. I will now reach out to the local CEO and see if he cares about these issues at all. Frank Napolitano expect to hear from your angry customers.
This place has gone from bad to worse. The ancient cadio machines are always broken (the handles are rusted with wires coming out and taped together-serious hazard), the restrooms are disgusting, as well the sauna and lockers. There has been rain the past couple of weeks so their solution has been to set up trash cans all over the gym instead of fixing the leaky roof issue. The stench from the mildew is unbearable. The other day there was a weird smell in the sauna and someone metioned it smelled like a rat died in between the seats. I’ve never had to cancel a membership because of the poor quality of the gym so today was a first for me. You can’t even say “You get what you pay for.” I’ve been a member at Planet Fitness and Fitness Connection and they are waaayy cleaner than this disgustning place. I don’t know how people come to this place every day. I saw a girl stretching in between two trash cans while rain water was dripping in to them. Been a member for more than one year and I’ve had it. I still have a month left on my membership but I will never return. Great location but horrific facility. Please save your money and try somewhere else.
24 hours open. It needs maintenance but they are getring better on keeping it clean.
The Central &Royal Lane location is the absolutely worst 24 hour fitness. During my visit earlier this week, the plumbing wasnt working, no water, no showers, no toilets which is extremely unsanitary. In addition, the fans werent working in the group x room and there is always an issue with the air conditioning system. With all the problems listed above, the staff would not even consider offering complimentary bottled water to the members. Im guessing they were not concerned about us sweating profusely and passing out due to heat exhaustion?? The next Incident Involved Kids Club refusing to watch an instructors children due to some system mix up. Needless to say, the class was cancelled without an explanation to the class. We stood there in slack jawed amazement . Im not sure of the real issue here, but the front desk representative, James Davis, threaten to kick us out because we were allegedly making a scene by expressing our concerns inside the gym. This is totally unacceptable behavior by any employee representing the company. Ive reached out to corporate office on several occasions and have not achieved the desired results warranted by a company of this magnitude . I will reach out to the CEO, Frank Napolitano, to inquire if hes aware of how 24 Hour Fitness members are being treated.
Im paying the kids club for mi son, and all time is close or the service is no enough. the machines are old and is expensive cuotes.
So far the best out of 3 24hr fitness centers ive been! really spacious and the place is in good shape :)
Cool staff... but the gym has become a wreck. There fitness equipment that hasnt been repaired (despite letting people know) for 6 mo. or so...They had a bent barbell for a couple months before they bought a new one... so you couldnt get one for a bench, rack, squat, etc. People were taking it with them and using it for other exercises. All in all, not a bad place... but dont go here if youre expecting something nice. Equipment is broken and wont get fixed and there isnt a variety of machines. Very limited.
Now this is a good gym I been to la fitness its not worth it come to 24 hours fitness
There is this Mexican Guy (Latino) who be checking down under the stalls in the mens restrooms. very uncomfortable. not cool at all.
Been going to this location for over 10 years. The current front desk staff are much better than the last few years (report same problems for months and nothing every happened). I like the equipment better at this location and the steam room (when it works) has more steam, and the pool is warmer (when it works). That being said the shower area is pretty bad and the pool seems to break down several times a year. It has been almost a month this time and the heater is still not working. At least in the womens locker people put locks on that stay on for months, even though it is reported. The showers leak, and it is not very clean. The steam room smells sweaty (other 24 hour locations I have been to do not seem to have this problem). I would recommend increasing their cleaning services to match the need.
Chris Williams is an amazing trainer here, lost about 7 lbs in just couple weeks working with him!
Great place to work out if the price doesnt bother you
Great location, equipment is great, plenty of space, etc. Convenient is a good word to describe it.
Why are they going to close it early ... I am training from 11-2am and I come twice a day ... then it will cost less the month because it is no longer open 24 hours
Conveniently located near my hotel when I visited Dallas last year. I love its 24 hour operation with pool and nice facility.
Lots of meatheads but no one really bothers you. Biggest complaint is how so much cardio equipment is always broken.
Why are the water fountains always hot here, like its serious question!?
This place is absolutely disgusting and were paying for main stream gym prices. Everything is always broken mold growing on floors under sinks rotten. Broken walls and the pool looks like youre going to catch a fungus from it. Im really upset that Im now locked into a contract here. Last night there were even exposed wires on a treadmill. This place is In dier need of a remodel!!!!!!!! #24hourfitness
Big huge gym really.one of the best 24 hours in Dallas, but its sooooo busy ALL the time
Great location. Fairly easy to get your workout done.
I work out here always so clean and the staff is friendly
Ive been to several 24 hour fitnesses, and for a Sport location, its pretty shabby
