I walked in after walking by the barbershop in need of a haircut, and I was seated within ten minutes. I had to give Tosha very little explanation of what I need before she did an excellent job trimming and styling my hair. The atmosphere inside is great, and the staff are very professional.

Im very particular about my haircut and even more so about my beard. I went in today at 10am without an appt. and was told the soonest I could receive work was 1045. I was seen well before that by Tosha. She did such an amazing job not just on my hair but my beard as well. I wasnt quite sure how I wanted my beard done so I was kinda vague about the instructions(Im still fairly new to the beard). She knew exactly what to do! She now has a loyal client!

My brother got his hair cut here and it was the most amazing transformation. He’s a lobsterman and doesn’t think too much about beard/hair upkeep on a day to day basis. His transformation by barber Jordan brought me to tears! It was still his style, but perfectly manicured. The barbers here are wonderful. Truly artists and craftsmen. Showed up early and left half an hour after the start of my appointment (booked well in advance). No one spoke to me once the entire time and I never got the haircut I booked. Disrespectful people that do not care about wasting your time at all. Would not recommend to anyone.

I really love this barbershop they may charge more money then your typical hair salon “barbershop” but that is because everyone of them are speciality licensed in being a barber. I also love the fact that they shave you with a straight edge and they have a full liquor bar in the back that is a 1920’s themed speakeasy. If you do not mind spend the money I strongly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Great haircuts in the past, just know there’s a reason that certain barber have appointments available last minute on a weekend. Hate coming home to find out she did a horrible blend on one side and razor burn on my neck.

I won’t be using gender pronouns because I do really like my cut and I think the barber is of quality, but I’m underwhelmed by the service I just paid for. Firstly, I booked for a head shave: lather, soak, towels, straight razor. What I received was a buzz fade down to the skin, so now I’m gonna have to go home and treat my scalp to make sure I don’t have any trimmer burns which will result in those tiny angry bumps as my hair grows back in. The cut I received is also not the one I wanted, and I could tell during the consultation my barber was reluctant to give me the cut I wanted. But instead of having that conversation with me and what we could do, they just stood there blinking trying to understand what I was trying to say. I should have brought out an older photo of me for reference, but whatever I was in the chair already and NEEDED a haircut. I like the cut I have and I appreciate what the barber provided for me, but the process of getting here wasn’t worth the money I paid. Also, as there are different prices for a hair cut and a head shave, and I DID NOT receive a head shave, I feel like I was overcharged. C’est la vie, but I won’t be returning.

Ive been to a lot places throughout Dallas, including uptown and downtown. High and Tight in Deep Ellum is the best barbershop I’ve been to. Jordan and the other barbers are outstanding. It’s great to book online and schedule a haircut that is always on time. I highly recommend them. Oh yeah, there’s a great bar also.

Took my nephew here to get his hair cut and the barber did not listen to how he wanted his hair cut and cut off more than what he wanted. He was humiliated. Called to speak to manager after we got home as I didn’t want to make a scene inside. Manager never called back. Poor customer service.

This place never disappoints. Gets crowded but still functions with a friendly staff. Band last night was incredible and we had an absolute blast. I kept telling people that we had in from out of town how cool it was and once again this place did not let us down. We will be back!

I moved to Dallas from the UK back in 2017. It took me the best part of 18 months to find a barber shop that matched the quality of the cut I get back home. After trying pretty much every other location in Dallas, I finally found Jordan @ High & Tight. His attention to detail, understanding of what I was looking for & overall finish is outstanding. The fade is up there with the best Ive had and hes equally skilled styling the top.All this at a very reasonable price, in a cool looking place. I could not recommend this shop any higher, they will have my business for the rest of my time in Dallas.

First time trying this place and was very pleased! Erick gave me a great scissor cut and was really thorough and precise. Not super pricy, either. Only thing I wished was that the shampoo was a bit longer or more massagey, but it was still good. Ill definitely be back!

I booked with Brie barbershop has and old school feel to it. They take their time not rushing and the straight razor shave thats worth it. Deep Ellum area around the Barbershop lot of places to grab a drink and something to eat. So if you want a great haircut and relaxing environment. Book your appointment you wont be disappointed.

It was my first visit and the experience was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and they provide free beer. I had an unruly beard and was overdue for a haircut. Ashley did a great job--providing a great haircut and really taming the beard. Wasnt sure what to ask for but she made it easy, guiding me through the whole process. She described herself as a perfectionist and proved it with her excellent work. I will definitely be going back to Ashley and highly recommend her.

I didnt get my hair did but I did hit the bar! The vodka vapor shots are interesting but their whiskey sour is my favorite. The laid back vibe is welcoming and I love the old fan collection.

My husband went to High and Tight for the first time two weeks before our wedding and hes never gone anywhere else since then. The salon has a really cool vibe, very well priced, and everyone is always very friendly. Steve has a great personality, makes everyone feel relaxed, and most importantly, does an awesome job on my husbands hair. This is our new favorite salon for mens cuts!

I was in town for just the night and found these guys online. I got a skin fade and a straight razor shave. The barber was super nice and my dad had a complimentary beer while he waited. Really satisfied with the haircut, but there were a ton of missed spots on my face. Bit pricey (35 for the cut, 30 for the shave) Ill definitely be back, but not for the shave.

During the day, you can get a fade last minute most of the time. Impressed with every haircut ice received there as well. During the evening once the bar opens, the live music is on point. Definitely something you should check out if you havent been before

Head around to the side entrance if the line is too long. Always live music and great cocktails. On busy nights it can take a long time to get drinks, but that’s the nature of cocktails.If you’ve never had a vaporized vodka shot, cross it off your list and try one here. I recommended my parents bring friends visiting from California here and they had a blast too.

My cousins All go here and told me to check it out so I finally did and I got a haircut from Jordan my first time there and now I’ve been seeing him Weekly for about 4 months. he’s a great barber has a great laid back personality to have a conversation with instead of awkward silence And extremely professional throughout the whole process. I never tried any of the other guys there but I would definitely recommend Jordan. Especially with the scissors and beard edge ups.The whole concept of this place has its own unique vibe and more of an experience every time than it is a haircut when I go. There’s a lot of people in and out of there. Music and even offer you a beer while you wait for haircut (Can’t get that anywhere you go) it’s definitely my favorite barbershop and I’ve been to plenty! And having a bar in the back is just the cherry on top. To be able to walk about 20 feet to the bar area behind the wall is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen. Check it out! You won’t regret it

Why we didnt visit the barber shop up front, we did visit the bar behind it. Bartender on this casual night was extremely friendly and well knowledged about his drinks. We hung out almost an hour and had a wonderful time. Im guessing this place gets pretty busy at certain points in time, from my experience oh, it was top-notch from the time I walked in to the time I walked out.

A really cool small venue in the back of a barbershop. We were those first-timers that couldnt find the entrance, so dont think that youre the only one. 😏 Nice mixed drink list- mine came with a flower and spritz. They only have bottle and can beer but they have vaporized liquor. The people taking it seemed like it tasted awful but its definitely something different. The band was great and they had a black and white movie projected on the adjacent wall from the band. Really cool, also really busy-- but it was a Saturday night.

Have been coming here over 2 years now and am impressed every time I walk in. Upon arrival you are offered a beer and the wait is never long. The barbers are proud of their work and do a great job. I have lived here in this area (Deep Ellum) for about three years and finally decided to try High & Tight for a haircut and I am glad I did.I ended up indeed getting I guess what you would call a high and tight with a little bit of the conservative direction of fading from very short on the sides up to the longer 1- 2 inches on the top.I was surprised and delighted that they didnt play rap/hip-hop but actually a fine mix including classic rock, which I think works for everyone (also the music wasnt too loud as it can be in some salons).All in all, a good experience.

Took my other half to get his hair cut...simple fade. Did offer him a beer when we first walked in. Had she actually just cut his hair instead of talking to everyone else, it might not have taken her over an hour to finish. Good edge up but the fade was less than appealing. Wont go back. 35 bucks for what???

Speakeasy bar! From Main Street you can enter through the back door of the barbershop. It’s an actual barbershop and at night the back door leads you to bar. They host cool events on occasional nights. Ask for the nitro gas shot! Also great cocktails 🍹

Excellent barber shop with a ton of talented barbers (Jordan K regularly cuts my hair and he’s awesome). They will offer you a beer or water when you enter and are veg welcoming. It’s super easy to make an appointment online even a day in advance (walk-ins can be tough). The back of the shop has a bar that’s popular in the evenings.

I was new to the Dallas area a few months ago, the biggest worry for my move was finding a good barber!! Well turns out I found a great barber!! I love this place and the atmosphere!! I Highly recommend if you haven’t checked it out already to stop by and see for yourself.

So cool!!! It is a barbershop, but there is a hidden door to a bar in the back. There was a live band and the drinks were delicious. It looks like an old speakeasy. It was pretty small but not too busy. Bathrooms are single stalls and there is usually a line.

Never had the chance to be impressed. Walked in early and it was clearly not busy. It looked like the girl at the front counter was about to assign someone to cut my hair, but another hair stylist stepped in and told me they were book up. I asked if it was booked all day and he said yes. Never looked at the book, never asked the girl at the front desk if there was an opening, never offered an alternative opening for the next day or so. I definitely felt judged. I evidently was not the type they wanted in their establishment. Guess thats the era we are living in now. Im sure not everyone will agree with this, but thats probably because they fit their mold of clientele they are seeking. It actually turned out well, I walked down the street and found a great place.

I dont live in Maine anymore, and I will wait for weeks or months to get my hair cut here when I come back to visit. Chris (and, presumably, his cohorts) can give you a glorious haircut for a shockingly reasonable price and are consistently affable, friendly, and accommodating. Will continue to recommend until I everyone on earth goes bald.

I’ve been going to Mike Gilchrist for a year now and can say he has stood the test of time. I’m in a service business as well so I do understand there are times when appointments get pushed back or are delayed a bit. Mike is an expert at my beard as well. The atmosphere there is great and they do have drinks. Thanks guys!

I definitely enjoyed coming to this shop .The atmosphere was great and everyone had a great vibe. My barber Daniella is now here. She is the only person I trust with my hair. I followed her from another shop. She is worth the travel. I have an asymmetrical cut, its shaved on one side and long on the other, I also get a design. Its hard to find someone with this much talent! I would reccommend her to anyone. High and Tight is lucky to have her .

First off, I loved the decor of the barbershop when you first enter. It’s not really a “hidden” speakeasy because once it’s late at night they have the door opened to the back. The back itself has a nice atmosphere: good music and really nice set up for their bar. There was no cover charge when I went but that probably changes with the band and the night.

The best customer service and wonderful views. The food is great. The mixed drinks are fabulous. The bartendersare quick and make the best drinks. They are also very attentive and well mannered.

Making appointment online us easy and quick. There is no waiting hence saving on time. Wonderful cuts at reasonable prices.

The most painful haircut and straight shave. I let the barber know it was painful and tipped 20%. When I got home to wash my face it was as if I never shaved. My face is so raw that I cant even fix it. I usually ask for a sissor cut so getting beat up by dull clippers was not fun either. Everything was awesome until I sat down so I guess its my fault. I cant recommend this place. If you do go make sure to get someone who cares about what they do and respects the service of putting blade to face. It was clear this person did not want to be there. I didnt want to post this but it still hurts when I smile. I wish the bartender re iews were better. I love the nostalgia though.

As recommended by my coworkers, I decided to continue my search for a more permanent barber at High and Tight. Having a long term barber is a blessing but unfortunately, mine had moved away.I called for an appointment and the receptionist was pleasant. Upon my arrival, I was offered a beer while I waited for my appointment.The decor is nice and clean. The barbers looked well kept but I couldnt help but notice the lack of energy in here. They just didnt seem enthusiastic at all.The barber called me over and asked me what I wanted. I said I just needed the back and the sides buzzed to a .5 and an inch taken off the longer section. For some odd reason, he didnt understand what I wanted and finally after a bit more explaining, he figured it out. He expressed that theres an easier way to explain it and that put me off. I mean, I grew up in my Moms hair salon. I know how to speak to a stylist. Why cant this barber figure it out? Isnt it part of his job to interpret the needs of his clients? I just chalked it up to inexperience.After that exchange, I just wanted to leave but he had me in the chair. I allowed him to finish the cut which wasnt exactly what I wanted but to avoid additional conflict, I said it was good and left.All-in-all, not a great experience and I will not be returning. Just a warning, if you arent able to articulate your needs the way they want you to, theyll make your feel stupid.

A rustic themed barber shop with a speakeasy bar. The drinks, while slightly pricier for the neighborhood, were excellent. My go-to old fashioned wasnt made traditionally, but their take is equally as pleasant. I would definitely recommend for a date night or a casual cocktail.

The struggle to find a good barber is real, and thank God for High and Tight because I finally found one here.Jordan is one hell of a barber! I mean his haircuts are millimeter perfect, and theyre like that every single time. It takes me 30 mins to get there, which I dont mind, because I know itll be worth it.I just hope he sticks around because I am so sick of constantly looking for a good barber.
