Though I ultimately chose to take my vehicle to another shop, I would like to say that Jay is an honest, experienced, and competent professional. He quickly diagnosed my vehicle trouble, was able to clearly explain what needed to be done and the associated cost.He was very patient and took the time to make sure I understood my options and risks related to my issue.I got a better estimate from another shop and I went with them because I felt very comfortable with them also and I just went with what I could afford at that time.But even with that, Jay was still incredibly gracious and didnt even charge me for the diagnosis. These guys are the best--extremely thorough and honest. I brought my ML350 in to a dealership and was dealt a long list of supposed problems. So I headed to Hances for a second opinion. They walked me through each issue in detail and explained which were most vital to fix, which could wait, and which were hardly an issue at all. Its a huge relief finding a trustworthy mechanic--they know what theyre talking about, and they dont try to push any unnecessary repairs on you. Called in about fixing my engine, and they said it sounded like an issue the dealer would fix for free. I went into Hances to have my motor mounts replaced since the dealer had diagnosed that repair was needed. Much to my surprise, Hances called after inspection and told me the motor mounts were fine. They also diagnosed a few items I could expect would need attention in the future but not now. I offered to pay for their inspection but they said no, just come back when you need something else done. A completely professional encounter. I will surely use them again.

Called from out of town to set up a PPI. Jay picked up the phone and was able to accommodate me earlier than expected(same day!). Despite my potential purchase being a basket case, Jay found all the problems and called me back less than 3 hours after the car rolled onto his lot. He even softened the bad news by discussing other options of brands and models to look at. If I ever make it back down to TX, Ill swing by to drop off some scotch-- Jay didnt know me from anyone else and yet took time to treat me like a VIP customer and a friend. Though I did not have any service performed, I would not hesitate to trust him to perform quality work and provide me with all the information to make the best choice.

I was having an issue getting the center console open in my car. I brought it in and they were able to open it in 5 mins no issue to my vehicle! In addition, I was so thankful and offered to buy them beer when they told me it was no charge. When Jay Hance opened his shop on Lover’s Lane (before his current location now located on Mockingbird Ln.) I just had be curious to see how good his business is. This location was only two blocks from my house which was extremely convenient for me. At the time I owned a 2010 Nissan Murano LE and although he advertises European in his brand, I thought I would see if he could help me with something very simple. My downstairs tenants at that time were moving out and on their last day on the property one of them decided to piss me off by breaking one of the fog lamps. I called Nissan for a quote for the replacement part and they were going to charge me a ton to get it replaced and installed. I then went to Hance and he said to look up the part on eBay, purchase it since it was way cheaper and the actual OEM part that the dealership sells, and bring my vehicle to his shop. When the part arrived, I called him and he said to bring my car over right away so he can quickly install it. When I got there, he took the new fog lamp casing and had one of his mechanics quickly change it out. It took less than 10 minutes. I offered him some money but Hance didn’t want to take it since it was such a quick fix. A year later, I bought myself a new 2013 Land Rover LR4 HSE Lux and his mechanic has been working on my vehicle since. Hance always encouraged me to maximize my warranty for anything that was still covered by it BUT once I was out of warranty, I would go to him and he took good care of me.I recently brought my LR4 to him for my rear breaks to be replaced and he told me to wait until my break light comes on. He went out of his way to educate me that I should trust the technology of my LR4’s sensors and that once the break light indicated that the rear breaks were worn out, he told me to bring it in for servicing.Two months ago placed an order for a new 2018 Land Rover Discovery HSE Lux and you know who’s going to install my mud flaps (much cheaper to purchase online instead of the dealership)? Hance’s European. Jay has worked hard to get these reviews. He does not convince his customers to give his business 5 star reviews. He earned them himself and people, like myself, go out of their way to write these reviews. His business is definitely 5 stars because 1) of how he communicates to his customer with honesty and integrity, 2) his professionalism of himself and his staff, and 3) his passion in assessing the situation and creating a solution. From my experience, he provides 4 for 4 service: the best quality service, on time delivery, under or on budget, and always to the client’s satisfaction. Jay has earned these 5 star reviews because he cares about his customers and I have seen that his return rate of customers is extremely high compared to other small auto repair business. Hance’s is great. They have proved to be honest, trustworthy, and do great work. They saved me several hundred dollars when my Mercedes CLS needed to be serviced. They recently replaced my rear brake pads (rather than all four) on my BMW 640, explaining the amount of wear and expected remaining life on the front pads. I’ve referred friends to Hance’s. In summary, I’d highly recommend!

First Ill say that I noticed there are a lot of good reviews and this review is not about the actual work they do but about customer service demeanor over the phone.This is in regards to a call I made today to establish new service (so please know, they may indeed do good actual work).I called to establish new business for my (recently acquired) 2005 Jaguar S-type and spoke to a gentleman named Lloyd, who answered the phone.I asked about help with getting a new serpentine/drive belt (getting prices, etc.). From the beginning and throughout the call, the demeanor was almost like I was more of a burden than a welcome customer (which right there is an immediate turnoff).When I began the phone call, I introduced myself politely and in a very clear and non-confusing fashion asked him about service, etc. It was though he wanted to be anywhere but on the phone with me (oops).When I brought up having the car looked over for basic services (Indicating that it has a lot of miles on it and I dont have service records) he didnt even respond to that part of the conversation – just gave me the prices to replace the belt (!). Thats not just a turnoff, thats bad customer service.Logically, if Im not treated with a little respect at least as a potential new customer (I was acting friendly on my end) Im not too sure how they would treat my car, etc, so I have decided to work with another shop.Lastly Ill add that, in that they have so many good reviews and seem to have amazing technicians, if they clean up their act as regards telephone demeanor (for lack of a better term) it could be a very good business move, as it seems to be (by reviews anyway) overall a very good organization.

Hance’s has been an absolute amazing experience since switching over from the dealership for both my cars. I went to Jay at Hance’s explaining problems the dealerships had laid out *needed* to be fixed and were ready to charge an arm and a leg for. After looking for the exact issue, Jay made it clear I was fixing to be scammed by the dealerships, put a plan in place for my cars, and overtime, proved that there really was no major issue. Only ever minimal tweaks that needed to be made. Jay and and all others at Hance’s truly go out of their way to accommodate you, get you the best possible pricing on all services, but the biggest thing is that you are never scammed into unnecessary services or parts. Each problem/service I’ve ever had with my cars always been explained in a way that non-mechanic folk can understand. Jay is honest about priority of services or parts needed to be done, and sticks strongly to the idea of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”. Hance’s really takes care if their customers and they show that from your very first experience with them. Highly recommend these guys!!

Took my Mercedes ml 350 there for a normal Service B 3 update. Haha These guys took care of my vehicle without all the major Mercedes cost. One thing I noticed about this place is that they are very detailed in what you need for later or now. No high pressures salesman, only good fair prices. I will never go back to the dealership and service my car again. I will always go to Hances. One think I forgot to mention, the owner is awesome too. Hance’s European has been servicing my wife’s Volvo for a few years now. We take it in for the oil change and Jay tells us what else is needed at that time. No reason to replace anything until it truly needs its. Best european auto repair shop in Dallas.

I was okay with the first service job on my AC by Hances. The service was completed in a day, and the price seemed fair. I just needed to figure out how to get around without my car. But I came back a few weeks later needing additional work, and I requested a quote to compare with the dealers. Even though I showed Hances the dealers work description and paperwork, the dealer was actually quoting quite a bit less. I also was talked down to regarding the choice of tires I recently put on my car. I had wanted a very specific set of tires, and besides, I put the same brand of tires on all my cars, and have always been happy. I tried others in the past, and I always end up going back soon after. I really didnt appreciate being talked to like Im an idiot. Instead of hassling with finding a ride or renting a car, the convenience of the dealers services made too much sense. The dealer ended up giving me a great discount anyways since Ive been a loyal customer.

Alex and Joe or Jay both were amazing to let ne know exactly was was wrong with my BMW 335is. Most of the shops try to rip you off but they told me what was super important to fix and what was preventative maintenance which i really appreciated. There are two Hance’s in one building. Make sure you have the right insurance for the right Hance’s treatment. I was told there was lifetime warranty on the work they did. After the work they said there was no warranty because of my insurance.

I have purchased 3 new VWs from the VW dealer in Richardson. I have always used them for service - only because it was always warranty work and other covered maintenance. However, I had a situation where after an oil change - the dealer told me that I needed a whole new oil pan (>$2,000) and it was my only choice to stop the leak.I went online and Jay @ Hances ... He was nice and upfront. Told me to bring it in for a look to verify their word. Two hours later he called me to say that the previous oil change had over tightened and actually pushed the oil pan up a bit and made it so the plug wouldnt seal correctly (thus my gushing oil). He was able to straighten it out and there is no leak. Definitely no $2,000 repair.His honesty is a very pleasant surprise. He has definitely earned loyalty.

When I took my aging Mercedes (2009), there for the first time I knew there was something seriously wrong. My car was diagnosed with a few problems, enough to make you say is it time?...they told me what was immediately needed and what I could schedule later...easy on the pocketbook...here it is three or four months later and I do feel sometimes that it is almost as good as new...thank you Jay and crew...your work is excellent and your prices really reasonable..(yes, I compared a couple of times with my old place)...customer for life!!...Thank you!!!

Very professional and upfront/honest. I was in and out in 10 minutes when I dropped off the car and when I picked it up.Also, my cars computer told me I needed new break pads. Turns out, the computer is based on time and not actual break pad thickness and I didnt actually need new pads. Unlike BMW, who would have probably replaced the pads anyway for the money, these guys told me Im still good to go for a while. Love the honesty and will definitely make them my go-to shop going forward.

Great place. Took my car in because of the check engine light. Jay the service adviser looked over it and got back with me immediately. Explained in detail what was wrong and had my car back before close of business. Great prices and excellent customer service.

The owner is great he does everything that he can to help you my experience there was good I ended up spending a lot of money to get my Mercedes fixed but nice toys come with a price tag overall I say this place is pretty good way better than any dealership I could have went to

Great guys and service. I have an 05 Porsche 911 and they are the most affordable place for foreign autos in Texas. An oil change here is cheaper than jiffy lube and they know a hell of a lot more. I had a check engine light, they looked at it something was unplugged. They fixed it and drove it around for me to make sure everything was running smooth for free. Jay will not charge you for something you dont need and is a knowledgeable straight shooter. Ive been here multiple times and have had nothing but great experiences.

Hance’s is the best. I had a fairly complicated issue that could have either been multiple thousands of dollar or just a few hundred. The initial diagnosis from the dealer was a transmission overhaul. The Hance’s team encouraged us to slow down and consider a different issue.
