Walked into the devils strip just over a year ago now. Met the owner Ruan, who cut my hair that day and I haven’t got cut by anyone sense. This is a barber shop, not a cheap cut franchise store. There’s many reasons behind the five star of course the cuts are top quality, never had a problem... but it’s the service that comes with it. You walk into the shop everyone is always having a good time, but being productive at the same time. Ruan and I have each other’s personal lines, and if anything ever comes up on my side to reschedule the service he gives me to try and squeeze me in somewhere else, and that includes him coming in early, or leaving late. Hands down the best barber shop I have ever been too. Customer for life.

Probably the best barbers in town. Tala always makes sure to treat every individual on a great level. I come and and he already knows what I want and what I need. Makes good on conversations so it’s not an awkward cut and leaves you cleaner than you thought you could be. Great place, highly recommend it. The barbers are exceptional and very friendly. Very reasonable prices and you will get a much better cut than the cookie cutter stores. Best of all it will be consistent and can choose the barber that fits you best. They have a great website where you can book your time in advance to fit your schedule. They are cash only, but do have an atm. Profesional, friendly and convenient. Why sit and wait forever when you can just schedule a time. So happy I found this place

I’m from Virginia visiting for a wedding when I saw this place on the way to breakfast. I made an appointment and showed up 30 minutes early. Tala was still able to accommodate me and took his time and made sure I looked great for the wedding. He was young and super skilled. Place was awesome.

Pretty good barbers a little bit more $21.00 as of 7/1/2020. I like the shops Ive been to two of the three havent been to the Wallhaven one.Aside from it being a little more pricey my biggest problem is every time I walk in there theres a ton of hair on the floor they dont sweep up after each cut I was in there today and it was only one other guy getting a haircut I sat down there must have been five or six peoples hair screwing all the way down the floor I think its gross. Im pretty sure there is a rule about sweeping up other peoples cut hair but Im not a hundred percent sure.If it werent for those two other things they would have got five stars and the only reason I gave him for as they do a really good job cutting hair they take the time and theyre friendly.One last thing they should take credit cards or debit cards I know it cost them money but with what theyre charging they should be able to take a card especially now with the covid-19 stuff I hate taking change back and cash cuz I dont know how clean or scuzzy the last person was that had the cash.

I’ve been to a couple barbershops nearby including their Ellet location but I think I found my new permanent barbershop, Brandy was able to give me such a quick and nice looking haircut even when I didn’t know what I really wanted. Very clean and aesthetically pleasing shop as well! Will be back here for my next cut

Seems like a nice place I guess but, I walked in ready to wait 30 mins+ or so, I thought I saw somewhere i the reviews that they don’t require an appointment .well i walked in and stood at the front desk and no one greeted me or acknowledged me for a while, guess there isn’t a specific person that deals with the customers which was a little odd. anyway after a couple minutes of taking off my jacket and such in an awkward silence, one of the barbers finally spoke up and simply said “do you have an appointment” I told him no, he said he was booked for the rest of the day completely. it was only like 2pm on a tuesday and there was an entire row of barbers .Now i’m not very good with math but with 4 hours until close, combined with 8 or so barbers. I mean it isn’t rocket science guys. It could’ve been done, but seems like they operate similar to a tattoo shop- which means they work when they want, on their time, and basically just chill and work at a very slow and comfortable pace. Which is totally fine until you tell me you can’t do a simple high fade when it’s 4 hours till close.I would’ve not minded any of this if they had just been a little nicer or friendlier about it. they seemed quite annoyed by my presence

I admit I give my kid a lot of creative control of her life and her body. But nothing gets my goat faster than the barber putting designs into her fade she did not ask for, and his excuse was that he didnt have time. It was your appointment to take. If you didnt have time, you shouldnt have taken it.

I have been looking for a steady barber since moving here from Hudson valley, NY. Ron and his team were prompt and friendly, will definitely recommend and return!Glad I was eyeing this place before it opened and finally bucked up when having the chance to go. The cut and beard shape up from Ron was great, plenty of parking, and easy to schedule so you don’t have to wait.

The barbers did nothing to meet the needs of the customers and we’re very unprepared. Even one of the barbers was talking on the phone while he should’ve been assisting a customer sitting in his chair. Candie is amazing. I took my 2.5 year old toddler to get his haircut. Hes HATES haircuts. Ive actually been turned away at other places, or they will do a quick.. 45 second cut and send us out. Me, I was the old guy in the crowd, but I was made to feel that I was welcomed and mattered.Had a great and relevant conversation.Got my ears pruned . I have bushes growing from them, and got my eyebrows trimmed expertly .M eyebrows are now hedges . In the latters of life, things grow in strange places.Gods sense of humor I believe.Justin Perry was my barber, I would certainly recommend him. He knows and loves his music, so if you go to the shows, play in a band or have musical inclinations, hes your choice.Enough parking space and the Portage Crossing Barber shop has easy road access points. Wheel Chair accessible .The have an ATM, but the dont have a tap in pay, or Square etc, so bring cash or use the ATM.I would like them, being small and local, to carry products like the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements. Great aftershaves at even better prices, plus beard treatments, cool t-shirts etc . I would love to go in and sample some of their colognes, or other mens aftershaves and colognes at the Portage Crossing Barbershop. Maybe they could even start a point system toward those types of products . Who knows.They should have a huge Fathers Day/Dads Day deal, or something where the women can come in and get a Boys Bundle Deal . We do that fore them with the spa treatments . Been in the Falls for a couple years now and have bounced around from salon to budget shops and back again with mediocre results. Decided to try this shop and Im so happy I did. I got my cut from Raun, the owner, and he did a phenomenal job. Will definitely be coming back here.The shop itself is really cool with the antique cast iron barbershop chairs and good music. All the barbers bicker like family with each other and have great rapport with the customers. I highly suggest trying this place out!

I got a really awesome cut today. The guys in there were engaging and personable. Really clean establishment. I really enjoyed my visit here today, and found out the owner of this barbershop also owns the ellet barbershop. So if you are a fan of the way that place is, you have an idea of what this place is gonna be like. I would without a doubt send anyone that i know and dont know through this shop. I will be back.
