One of the best gym memberships in town. Plenty of machines, friendly members who will help when you need it, great music and all of the right machines.
SCAM ALERT!!!!I gave them written and verbal confirmation 3 months before cancelling my membership, and they are still charging me. This is fraudulent. How about you guys email me back and fix this, as you promised over the phone?Edit: Emailed them right away as they said in the reply. 3 days later, no response. They only pretend to care about customers in the reviews. Clearly they don’t.
I am so disappointed by the payment process at gold gym ...I been cheated three different times and now the next time they charge me 49 $ for 18 days ....Anyhow I am going to cancel my membership as soon I come back to Culver City .... And change my credit card details .. they still charge one of my colleagues working with me ...he cancel membership two months ago and still he is complaining and calling. As I work close to gym, we have alot of workers wanna join, bring them some business but every time I bring someone gym want me to sign like 15 different pages on there computer for each of them ...I never see such a management to sign me for so many responsibilities of others people. .I will strickly recommend to not wast money and time ....its a headache not a gym.I
I cancelled my membership within the 5 days required in the contract. I was assured it would be cancelled and followed up by e-mail for record. I was charged a $20 processing fee which I disputed and a month later was charged $22 membership fees. This place makes it difficult to leave, continues to charge you when you do, and ignores communications. It may be a decent gym but it is a sketchy business.
It’s 6 and everything is great but the size and honestly i only come here for cardio but honest its a lot less busy than Garden Grove. Google says this is a busy as it gets, not bad at all!
By far the quietest location in SoCal, staff is super chill and knows how to socialize, there’s no better feeling then seeing all the equipment that you need to use be available 9/10 at the moment
I really like this gymnasium im giving it a evaluate because majority of the humans that are in this gym are ripped and you have to be ripped to be this health club and if youre no longer ripped you dont belong right here and im providing you with 5 stars due to the fact you have to be rich to be here and if youre no longer ripped them make you rip cuz you need to be there ripped it is extremely good thank you goes health club for having all the humans you have got at your region which can be ripped to make me should be ripped in my lifestyles to be at your health club
Awesome place with fun, friendly and professional trainers. They motivate and encourage me to lose weight! What a great place to work out, though the gym is not that very clean.
I applied for the Golds Gym Assistant Fitness Manager position, and I went in to speak with the manager Miriam. When I arrived, I was met at the front desk by a subordinate employee named Daniel, and he asked screening questions on why I was there. I told him briefly I was there to speak with Miriam and she was helping another customer at the front desk. I could tell Daniel was upset that he was he was not informed why I was there so both he and Miriam both walked in the back to talk. Shortly after, Miriam came back out to the front desk, and I Introduced myself and informed her that I applied for the Assistant Fitness Manager position. Her attitude and disposition changed after speaking with her representative Daniel because he was mad that he was not informed why I was their. I informed Miriam that I applied for the position online, and she lied to me stating the position was no longer available. I questioned her and informed her that I had applied online and if the position was not available why was it still listed. At that point Miriam looked like a deer in head lights after getting caught lying. Her and Daniel both are prejudice and I definitely do not want to work with liars and racists. Do not support or trust individuals that are unaware that a job is still posted on their website and then lie about it no longer being available. They did not want to hire on the basis of being challenged for their position. if one will lie and be misleading about job postings, what’s to say they will get one the fitness results that they are looking for. Save ones hard earned money, and hire a real professional not Rookies like these two individuals. Be warned Miriam and Daniel both are misleading individuals looking to hire who they want and use bait and switch tactics when signing one up for a fitness membership. Don’t patronize Golds Gym Culver City Run!
Worst customer service ever! Im a 9 years member, last year it took 3 months to renew the membership due to some glitches in the system. This time I have been trying to renew my membership since November, now in February my rate is no longer available for some incomprehensible reason. yet Ive just received welcome Text. Obviously they do not know how to retain customers.. good bye Golds!!
The gym is decent. The manager, Miriam, is not. I have seen a few complaints about her in reviews. I have found her to be quite incompetent. I was attempting to purchase personal training sessions to work out with Sam, who is greatI needed to split between two cards. She charged one card for $100 more than she was supposed to. Then she took down the wrong numbers for the other card. Her overcharging me ran up the credit limit on the card. A refund was processed, but of course that takes 5-7 days. She was still trying to get me the deal. Somehow my other card then gets charged the full amount. My credit card issuer put a fraud alert. So basically I had no card to use. Its a few days before Christmas and now I have nothing to shop with because my replacement cards wont arrive for 5-7 days. Miriam ruined my holiday. I was not able to buy presents for my loved ones. It was all her mistake and error yet she refused to take responsibility for her mistakes. This is why I give one star. If she had taken responsibility it would have been fine but she did not. The gym has done nothing to rectify the situation. No apology. No compensation. Nothing. A complaint was filed in their system. But I have not heard anything back. I wonder why? Owners, if a manager has consistently bad reviews why are they still working there? Or at least why have they not been re-trained?The apparent solution to solving problems is to ask the customer to contact but then not provide information for someone who can actually help. My advice is to not join this gym. There are plenty of other options.
Training is great. Gym is nice and small. Just warning don’t sign up for personal training or anything that has auto payment. Their billing system is a mess. The gm is clueless unfortunately. Changed my first review cause I finally got a refund for my money.
Golds Gym is a name that has a special pride of place in the hearts of bodybuilders. As such, I was expecting a far more equipped patch than what I found at this branch. Especially as some folks like myself come looking for proper squat racks and deadlifting space, which are limited here. Will have to ensure i am here during the off peak hours to be assured of workout space.
Please read this before you consider getting yourself involved with this place.I have been furious for months on end regarding my experience with this place, and now I just cannot deal with all of the stress and anger this place has caused me. I am simply disappointed. To start off, in May 2018 I transferred to this location from DTLA as I moved to West LA. The sales manager at the time I signed up, named Robin, made himself seem like he was helping me out. He told me that he was canceling my previous membership and then opened a new account for me at Culver so I could qualify for a lower membership. I double checked with him how long the contract was, and he told me that it was six months. I trusted that he was helping me, but it turns out that he ended up lying to me and had me sign a legal binding contract that locked me in for one year. For the next 3-4 months since transferring, I was consistently double charged for two memberships. No matter how much I called them, they always told me to either call back another time to reach the manager that could get back to me or that they got it and “would send in the request” for me to get the matters resolved. When I thought my contract ended, they continued to charge my membership account and then sent my information to a collection agency, in which I didn’t know about it until I was contacted from the collections agency. They said that my credit would be damaged if I didn’t pay the balance of $175.I will never ever understand how they are still in business after all of the bad reviews I’ve seen and my own experience with this place. PLEASE take in serious consideration all of the bad reviews about this place as they are completely true. Pay a little more for better service and a place that doesn’t scam you or just find any other place to EXCEPT here.
Got myself a membership a few weeks back and Im seeing the results and loving it. Happy Id starting out with this gym, really made the difference.
I received a mailer for free use of the gym for July 2016 and suggesting I may win something if I bring I the mailer. 1 week later, someone called me offering 2 weeks free. I told them that I already had the month of July free and he sounded dumbstruck.I took the mailer in and won a 2 week free VIP membership and redeemed it at this gym. Marc Lemons was pleasant but didnt appear to want to give me information. He stated VIP meant I could just use the facility as a member for two weeks when the website clearly says otherwise. When asked about putting a work put plan together he wanted to sell me training.I used to be a member of Golds about 5 years. At that time, I was given an introductory walkthrough and a basic initial workout plan. Today, Marc just showed me where the bathroom was. The people that work there are pleasant enough but being a good person doesnt really matter. Its about making an impact! Ultimately, the staff could use some customer service training.
Clean organized small gym. The staff are fantastic!! Train with Leo, fitness and boxing instructor. Would highly recommend it.
This place is fantastic. Been going here for a few months. Trainer are excellent, attentive, and they care extremely!!
Small gym which can get packed quickly especially the soft mat spot. Theres usually enough parking for everyone. Just make sure to tedt the place out on the time you usually plan to go to see how packed itll get on your usual days, dont get disappointed once you pay for membership.
Decent gym. Good selection of machines and heavy enough weights. However, the trainers often leave weights on machines and sweaty benches behind them so no leading by example there. Also they charged me $80 out of the blue and when I told them to give me my money back they gave me the run around for weeks. Told me I could get credit for the money and so on. I told them to give me my money back but they wouldnt. I ended up posting a fraud claim with my bank who gave me my money back. So, if youre joining here, keep a close eye on your bank account for fraudulent charges from Golds. Also, desk staff could be friendlier but its getting better.
Great gym friendly people.
THIS PLACE RIPS YOU OFF - AVOID AT ALL COSTI went to Golds Gym and asked to sign up for a single-month membership, as I was only visiting the town for a couple weeks. Eddie the manager told me that the gym does not offer any single-month membership, which I later found out was a blatant lie. Another associate at the gym told me later when I asked him that there was actually a single-month membership option.Lying about what options I really had, Eddie told me that my only option was to sign up for a permanent membership but that I could just request cancellation immediately to only use the gym for one month. He guaranteed to me that I would be charged only the initiation fee and JUST ONE month of membership. I asked him multiple times to make sure that I would only be charged for the month of Sept. and not for the month of Oct. or any month afterwards. Despite this associates promise, I was charged on a monthly basis for October and November payments. I emailed the gym telling them about this situation, and they were willing to cancel my membership immediately but NOT WILLING TO REFUND Oct and Nov payments!!!I was already extremely furious that Eddie lied about the options I had when I signed up, but Im now even more furious about the fact that he basically signed me up for a permanent membership and did not cancel the membership immediately like he said he would. I was expecting to pay for only one month of gym use, not pay every month. And the gym isnt taking responsibility by refunding me. This is the worst gym experience Ive ever had in my 15+ years of weightlifting career.AVOID THIS PLACE FOR ITS SHADY SALES TACTICS.
Tiny gym but the staff was great and very helpful.
Plenty of things to pick from to get a great workout. Big locker room and hot shower with blow dryers.
Small gym but clean. Eddie in front helpful. Equipment available for use. Adequate cardio machines but small space for functional training.
Theyre always cleaning the equipment which is the best part about Golds compared to LA Fitness and 24Hour. This gym is a small Golds but has a nice range of free weights, machines and cardio equipment in addition to a nice astro-turf stretch area. The staff isnt overly pushy like some of the newer Golds Ive been to. Nice gym overall.
Scam alert. They are seriously all a bunch of con artists. Dont sign anything with them unless you fully read it because they do not make you aware of all the unnecessary charges that they are obligated to tell you about. Cancelled my membership and 2 months later I am still getting charges and now I suddenly cant get a manger on the phone. And the many trainers are either unreliable or simply dont do as they promised when they were trying to get you buy the packages. Went through 3 trainers for a simple 30 session package.
I first joined when the gym first opened, I paid cash for a year and was given 18 months, I was asked for a credit card even though I had pay in full for a year. I was charged a second time for the same amount, I brought my documentation over to the manager who is now a gym owner in San Diego and was taken care of on the spot. For my inconvenience I was added two extra months, so it worked out great. The second time I renewed it was under the manager by the name of Luis, he did not give me the same deal as I had access to all gyms the firs time, he wanted extra for it, which I said negative to. Overall I like the gym, I go in work out and leave and there is no pressure from the trainers as it was when it first opened. The place is clean. Mondays are to be avoided, as everyone is there after work Sundays are the best to work out. Will be renewing once I start working in the area as I no longer reside in 90066. Try it out.
Good gym at a good location. I came here with my friend and being around so many fit people just inpires me to workout! lol
I love this gym Im giving it a review because majority of the people that are in this gym are ripped and you have to be ripped to be this gym and if youre not ripped you dont belong here and Im giving you five stars because you have to be rich to be here and if youre not ripped them make you rip cuz you have to be there ripped its amazing thank you goes gym for having all the people you have at your location that are ripped to make me have to be ripped in my life to be at your gym
They are liars and scammers!!! Do not sign with them they are a shady franchise that makes money out of lying and ripping ppl off. Stay away!!!
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM.They will con you out of your money, dodge your phone calls and emails, and make unauthorized charges to your accounts. Notwithstanding, the employees and managers are rude and the gym is tiny and dirty. This is the worst gym, actually the worst business, I have ever been to. In November I went with my boyfriend to ask for a guest pass so we could work out together. Somehow I got talked into signing up for a contract, after begging a pleading with the guy that I didnt want one, that I am in the middle of figuring out if I will even be living in LA in 2019. He said I have 30 days to decide I can cancel and get a full refund if I am not happy, etc. I was completely lied to, plus he charged me an extra $130 for personal trainer sessions I EXPLICITLY stated I did not want. I have been calling, emailing, and I have even gone in several times to sort this out for the past 3 months and they have been incredibly rude, non-responsive, and non-corporative. They continue to lie to me and just today my credit card company called me about an unauthorized charge of $98 from them!!
I called 5 times to end a membership and each time they tell me that theyll do it but next thing i know i get charged. i even called and they told me my membership didnt exist so they lied to me and i got charged. i dont trust golds gym at all.
Worst experience ever !Staff does not acknowledge new members trying to sign up.Not worth signing up at this location !
Compact gym. But really nice and next to the mall. Perfect location.
Great gym. Clean showers. Completely unprofessional management staff. Im a student with no extra money to blow who was there for 1 month on a monthly contract, and they have been charging me every month since I cancelled. Tried talking to the manager multiple times via email, calls, and coming in. No replies. No call backs. I hope they take some action to fix this.
Hello,I stop using Golds Gym Culver city since Oct. 2018When I registered in September I told the managers that I will quit the membership after a month. but I Paid $132.99 Year membership. They told me theres no 1 month membership.I flew back to Korea in Oct. and Now I am in Korea and no need to go there. And they charged on me $119,9 on 27th Nov. I sent a mail to cancel and refund that. And today, they charged $119.9 again on 12th Dec. All paid by my credit card. Please Cancel these two card payments.I have No trust on the staff there.
Ive been very disappointed with this gym for a number of reasons one of which is the service and lack of management. I was accidentally bill $650 and when I called the manager to complain he acted completely nonchalantly about it and then it took like 5 business days to remove. Ive had to call 5 times to cancel my membership and they finally just told me they have put in a request but not before telling me I had to come in to cancel. This is on top of the unfriendly service (aside from a couple folks), the lack of professionalism, lack of parking (even though they say its fine), the ever rotating staff of trainers, and the lack of floor space.Ive never been so happy not to have to go back to a gym.
Rude customer service, billed me twice in back to back days and when I complained and got the second charge reversed, now my account has in the negative for 22 days. One day I called to talk to the supervisor and one of the staff member wouldnt put me on hold to wait for him and hung up on me 3 times when I called back.I wouldnt recommend this Culver city golds gym to any of my friends.
Pros:Good locker and shower facilityGood equipmentCons:Lack of adequate floorspaceContinuous solicitation to pay for a trainerThey even sent me an SMS saying I had a reservation with a Gym Manager when I never made one in the first placeTrainers seem more intent on making you do exercises that isolates a muscle as opposed to a full body workout. Not exactly the best way to exercise.
Extremely unhappy and inconsistent for a one month membership i purchased.Trainer cancelled on me twice, the first time, an hour before our scheduled meeting and the second time, no word from him.Gold Gym had a promotion where you could bring a friend per visit for the month of July. The first time i brought a friend, Gold Gym gave him a keychain tab with a barcode. The second time we went, I though we could use the same tab but was stopped and was asked to register with name, address and phone #. The third time, I took my cousin and was immediately halted and was told to pay $20 for day pass. I was left in shock, explaining that Gold Gym had a promotion of bring a friend per visit for the month of July. The man then requested for an ID, i exclaimed, you guys didnt require the first two time, why now?. He continued telling me because of liability issue which made sense to me. But I had told my cousin to leave the ID home since they didnt ask the first two times since having a wallet in the gym was hassle. When i asked the employee if i could speak to the manager, he exclaimed that he was the regional manager. I was halted on the spot as if he were Gandalf himself and had to return home. Three different employee with three different interaction. The employees there are very friendly and also relaxed that no one gives a damn. Proper re-training is due so everyone is on the same page and consequences need to be placed.
On 1/30/12 I obtained the primary contract with Golds Gym and on 2/29/12 the second contract. Upon noticing Golds Gym erroneously withdrew an additional payment for the second contract, I immediately contacted the facility. I spoke with the manager (Luis) who claimed he would not be fulfilling the terms of the contract and insulted me and stated I was no longer able to use the facility even though payment has been made in full and even over full for the second contract. He stated he put a lock on my account and I was no longer able to go there. I repeatedly expressed to him that the contract was previously agreed to (and signed) by his staff and I was expecting Golds Gym to fulfill their contractual obligation. He refused and would not allow me to speak any further and continued to insult me for expecting them to abide by their OWN contract. This place fraudulently charged my card an additional payment and now is refusing to allow me to use the services I have already paid for. This facility hires people that apparently incompetent and are illegally entering into contracts they refuse to abide by.
Very disappointed in this Golds Gyms customer service. It has tainted my view of the company as a whole and I will no longer be doing business with them the rest of my life.
Very happy coming from la fitness in culver city not even close is worth the drive. Golds has all equipment clean and organize parking always easy. I only signed for three months but im renewing for sure
SCAMMERS... What do you call someone taking your money with your consent. I have been asked to provide my credit card details for cancellation charges of $100 since they cant not charge on my checking account. But after a week they charge again on my checking account with my consent. Again, no response from the manager even after making many calls and leaving him a note. GOLDs corporate has to take these things seriously. Your reputation is getting screwed up!!!READ YOUR AGREEMENT!!! sounds silly right. This is what I hear from GOLDs Manager. Let me keep it short, Mr. Quinten signed me up for 12 months contract stating that I could transfer my membership to any other GOLDs facilities. I mentioned him clearly that I will be moving to Texas in couple of months. Now is the time to move, when I tried to transfer my membership. Mr.Marc the manger apologies me saying they cant transfer my membership and charged me the cancellation fees. So, folks, bottom line, do not trust the sweet words while signing up. Sharing my experience so that, no one gets into this trap again. hope this helps.
BEWARE they are SCAMMERS! I went in September 2017 to cancel my membership and this guy named Danilo Herrera assisted me and said he would take care of me but that I would still get October charged and then October comes and I still get charged for November. So I call and speak to some guy named Eddy and tell him what is going on and he tells me to come in on Monday because that is when the manager Mark is in and that Danilo would also be there so I can sit down with Mark and Danilo. So I go in on Monday and the manager didnt even speak a word to me he did not even acknowledge me. He had me wait in the front and he had Eddy and Danilo explain the situation to him and he tried to have Eddy convince me that I got charged for October in late October when I know they charge you the month before. I would not have been in this position if Danilo took care of me like he said he was going to the first time. However, due to my research on yelp and google, I am not the first person they do this to. See for yourselves. DO NOT SIGN UP. They do not even have towel service or real amenities like their other locations. Not to mention parking is already a nightmare and the fact it is in a mall, makes parking a nightmare November-January due to holidays because the lots gridlock. The person who decided to put the gym at a mall with gridlocking parking is an idiot. Save yourselves that money and go to a better gym. I can already see them closing down this location because of the massive amounts of scams they have to do in order to make their sales. When I first signed up, my personal trainer told me they were doing bad and needed people to sign up desperately if not they were going to get yelled at for not meeting the sales goals. It is no wonder why they have to do shady stuff like Scam people in order to reach their sales goals.
The worst Golds gym I have ever been to. Parking is terrible, place is small and crowded, no towel service. I would rather go workout at a LA fitness were its cheaper and bigger. Do not get a gym membership here.
Small, clean not to busy enought machines n weights for every1 sounds good? None of this matters if they dnt got customer service waiting to talk to the manager over the phone mark never answer. Going to dt better.crowdrd but excellent customer service oh cuz is franchise they dnt meet the standards.Or feel like they dnt have to
Great place to workout no waiting for machines clean, and great staff
Friendly place to work out.
Very clean, friendly staff, great cardio equipment. Excellent!
I recently joined golds, I felt uncomfortable joining a gym for the first time in many years. But the staff and members at Golds made it easy to get back in to the routine of going.
Golds Gym Culver City is great; clean with good equipment selection and helpful, friendly staff. My only hesitation in recommending it, is I dont want it to get too crowded!
I recommend it even allows a pass to try it out.
I was in a 1 year contract with these guys. Once it ended I called and canceled my membership, 4 months later I get a call saying they sent me to collections for not paying the monthly fee. Now I see why everyone kept saying they rob you here. Should’ve listened to other reviews
Good place to exercise!
Not a good place but good facilities
Very clean and the staff very cool
I have been a member since August of last year .A very friendly urban membershipstaff is the same Sure it is small but the energy generatedgives my workout a extra boast ! The much larger LA FITNESSin culver city is rude crowded and very dirty and I was a member since it opened until found this Golds ! For my money the small Golds is far better
Got a pass for 7 days in the mail but when I got there I had to bring a friend with me :( and they didt honor the pass.
Beware of the terms, Usually its not that busy; The gym is usually free with not many people; We are still running low in numbersAdvice: 1. Visit the gym at the time when youll be using it once youll join for use, not the usual Sunday/Saturday or holiday. Usually the peak hours are weekdays after 5pm, when it is crowded.2. Watch for the machines youll be using the most, if they have enough equipments.
Spacious and lots of equipment
Big fan gold gym
They make cancelling impossible.
Work out time baby
They sent me to collections SIX months after I had cancelled my membership.
Beautifullllllll
Horrible experience, very dirty
It was a little bit small for the same price of a regular Golds Gym subscription
Easy, cheap, good vibe
Clean gym.
Nice gym
I love it
Ask for Rico
This is a good gym. It is a gym with a lot of equipment. The trainers have a good knowledge of the gym.
Its close to LAX and convenient to use Travel Pass as a gym for business trips. Its not that big, but we have all the equipment.
Excellent gym.
