The routes are well set and the gym has a good selection equipment. The place could be cleaner, but it’s not terrible. Deducting 2 stars because they allow too many people in. It’s hard to walk at times and you’ll be waiting for every route if visiting in the evenings.
Really great time at this indoor gym. State of the art.
Actually extra special gym. massive bouldering and roping areas with well-maintained, notable routes. Very friendly, beneficial team of workers. extraordinary day-pass price. I climbed right here someday whilst on holiday, and cannot look forward to my next trip to L.A. to hit up Cliffs of identification once more!
I LOVE THIS GYM.Route setting is clever and *shocker* consistently graded! The staff is super friendly and fabulous.Just get some new swag people, I’ll rock it round town.
Magical! This gym is huge and it was my first time at this touchstone gym 😁🔥
Nice climbing gym, super well equipped and with sauna!
Really friendly staff and an awesome set of bouldering cliffs.
Great gym, met a climber YouTuber here, the people seem friendly, really safe (strict) with belay test, usual price.Route setting was amazing for boulders; they also have some cool unique features like a very very huge boulder overhang, archways, and slab walls. I cant imagine getting bored here; has every style of bouldering to please all with an insane amount of different holds.Grading is little on the soft side, and top rope is ATC. Very spacious and clean. Seriously glad to pick this gym as i only had few days to try two in the area.
Sick! Touchstone climbing gyms...!! What can I say...showers sauna lockers r open...the climbing is nuts here...not to mention the customer service is killin...Cliffs is a stellar climbing gym 4 suuure...!! Probably my new favorite climbing gym...it was.dogpatch n the bay but I think.cliffs took the crown just 4 the fact that u can top rope and lead climb as well...! Climbing is life...!!!
Open and ready for business! Great staff and pretty courteous membership.
Cliffs is my regular climbing gym. I tried out and actually became a member of sender one before I joined cliffs. My friends got me in on a guest pass and sender was never the same. Very chill atmosphere here, especially during the day. The bouldering is fantastic so you can go alone and have a blast which is great for keeping strong. The lead section is somewhat small but is very fun and thoughtful. I love the routesetting at this gym. Can be a bit crowded starting at like 6:30 - 7 on weekdays so Id go straight after work, but thats everywhere in Los Angeles. Very active route refreshing. Always feels like theres something new to try but sometimes your project can be removed before you finish it. Sauna and training room above the climbing floor are great as well.Having said that their policy on couples membership is ridiculous. The demand a joint bank account statement or marriage license? We brought in a signed lease with both of our names on it and one of the desk staff treated us very curtly when we thought that seemed reasonable. All to grub for an extra $50 as well. This experience almost soured me on the gym immediately but Im glad I stuck around.
Lots of routes! Would like to check out the TR section next time!
My wife, my daughter, and I had an introductory lesson to bouldering and top-roping from Evan who was very thoughtful and clear in his instruction as well as being exceptionally nice. If youre unsure about whether youd enjoy climbing I recommend you call up Cliffs of Id and try to set up a private lesson (ask for Evan!) you wont regret it.
Amazing bouldering gym!!! Not so great for top rope...I used to dislike bouldering and only do top rope, this gym made me like bouldering. Great place, a lot of route to find those that suits and motivate you. I do not like the top rope there but there is a meet up for top rope, so... I still do it once in a while, but I rather boulder there.
Such a friendly community. I love this workout routine; its challenging and exciting; it incorporates puzzle solving, something I enjoy doing also. The space also has free weights and benches, a work space for people who just like to be in the space... just a great place to be.
I absolutely loved this place other than personnel being supper nice the people that come in are really nice and teach you stuff. If your new to rock climbing you can rent the shoes there for the first time, the locker is free and then there are paths with numbers showing how though they are. For instance in the beginning it’s better to start from v0/v1. There are two sides in there actually, there’s the short climbing part that doesn’t need rope and there’s the other part that needs ropes and it’s longer but for that you have to pass a test.
What a nice gym. Lots of quiet pockets where you can take your time with problems and wont feel rushed. Just the way I like it. Also has not too high walls.PS I only Boulder.
Awesome facility! This Climbing gym is spectacular! The community there is great, they have awesome yoga and fitness instructors and have amazing food trucks there everyday! I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because their routes are set pretty soft, you can pick almost any climb there and it will be 3 grades less than what they rated it. Over all though an awesome place!
Absolutely phenomenal gym. Huge bouldering and roping areas with well-maintained, fantastic routes. Very friendly, helpful staff. Great day-pass price. I climbed here one day while on vacation, and cannot wait for my next trip to L.A. to hit up Cliffs of Id again!
This place hits the sweet spot between great boulders, good rope climbs, and very good training spaces. With a room dedicated to hangboards, one to campus walls, one to woodies, a gym, and a classroom. Showers, sauna, towel service included. Boulder heavy (what did you expect? Its Touchstone.) but a great all-rounder nevertheless. The parking lot is often full, but there is tons of street parking. I have a membership to two climbing gyms, and been to most/all in this region, and this is now my favorite gym.
My favorite place to be. The walls are well balanced, but definitely offer a good challenge. The locker rooms are A+ (extra points for the Sauna). The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. They also have plenty of long benches inside where you can eat or do some work. Only drawback is you might have to wait for a parking spot during peak hours, but maybe you should just come in the morning 😉
A Five Star indoor climbing gym with bouldering, top rope, and sport climbing. Plus a strength and conditioning area and fitness classes. Excellent quality walls, mats, etc. and good equipment. Prices are reasonable. Parking is a little tight. The top rope/sport area routes tend to be over-rated in my opinion. Where I think a Colorado climbing gym would call a 5.8, Cliffs would call it a 5.10 -and a bit over-zealous with the A, B, C ratings as well...but everyone needs an ego bump. Still a great place that I hope to return to!

Awesome space with loads of routes. Great training area too with all sorts of different equipment. Wifi working area was a very appreciated touch!
Incredible space, a true bouldering dream. Staff is friendly, and the community it provides is a huge part of what attracted me to membership. The sheer size of this place is awesome, it’s hard to ever get sick of going and it’s been my home gym for over a year. If you don’t feel like climbing, the fitness classes are great, plus there’s a nice area to sit and do work. Seriously my favorite climbing gym I’ve been to, ever.
Super cool vibe and unique wall configurations. I was there when they had an all womens climbing event and it was really fun and inspiring. Strong community vibe. Great spot to climb in the LA area.
Why?! Cliffs is so challenging! I spend months going to LA Boulders before checking out this location only to find that I could barely climb here. The level of difficulty is intense so while great for advanced climbers, the amount you can do as a novice is minimal. That being said, like all Touchstone gyms, it has interesting routes, and the facilities are top notch!
Great gym, huge selection of routes and terrain. Membership is a little pricey, but does come with the perks of being able to visit any Touchstone gum, which is huge.Route setting is good and the quality of holds is generally very good as well. My one complaint would be their top out boulders, which are totally flat on top, lead to some rather uncomfortable top outs. Check out SBP’s boulders for better design — they all slope inward on the top
My favorite climbing gym in LA! Huge bouldering area, top ropes, plus a ton of regular gym things like a weight room and treadmills. The fitness classes are all wonderful and Ive met some great people at this gym!!
I like this Bouldering Gym a lot! I recently started getting into bouldering. This was one of the better gyms Ive been to. Pretty new and plenty of space! Theres a lot of challenging ones to conquer! They also have an upstairs area for other workouts. They have treadmills and also a separate room for classes that helps you stretch out your muscles after a long climb. The restrooms are super nice too. They have a sauna in there and places to shower. I havent seen a restroom this nice at a gym before. Highly recommended!
Ive been to three climbing gyms: Boulderdash in the San Fernando Valley, LA Boulders (a Touchstone gym like Cliffs of Id), and this gym (Cliffs if Id). Cliffs of Id is by far the best. This climbing gym is massive. There are lots of bouldering and roped routes. I like that the entire gym is padded so you dont have to move pads around. The bathrooms and shower area and locker rooms are really nice. The gym has super high ceilings so there is a very open feeling. The staff are really nice too. There are not enough parking spaces, but you can find parking on the street.
So much bouldering to try! There are lockers, tables & wifi ( great if you work remotely - you can probably spend all day there. Work on computer, take a break and Boulder, work, then take a class). Speaking of classes, besides the gym and shower amenities, they offer wide variety of classes. Acroyoga anyone? Ive only ever gone as a guest, but everyone, staff and climbers, seem so friendly.
Nice bouldering, decent roped climbing. Staff generally friendly except from 15 minutes before closing time on, at which point they start yelling at people for still climbing.Sender One has less bouldering but better route setting, roped climbing, and nicer staff.
Gosh. this is seriously harder than it looks!Ive rocked climb with a harness plenty of times and I guess this was my first REAL experience at bouldering and it beat me up pretty good! The feeling of a harness obviously makes you feel invincible but the fact that you have no security but a seemingly bouncy floor doesnt make me feel too comfortable climbing all the way up without feeling a bit queasy in the tummy!I actually dont have a fear of heights until that day, the instructor however did their best on introducing different techniques to help us climb better but it was still a work in progress. Def worth a couple more tries that is for sure!
Nice place and provides good facility. From next month I will take their membership. There are lots of activity to do. They also provides fitness classes.
Incredibly nice staff and an amazing gym altogether! The environment is really relaxed and the workouts are intense. The bathrooms are super clean and the showers have hot water instantly. This place is amazing!
With the recent addition of a moonboard and some beastmaker micros to their air-conditioned training room, Cliffs of Id is now a reasonable choice for those in west LA training to climb hard boulders. If you want to train for routes, go somewhere else.
FINALLY! Only days until the doors of Touchstones West LA location opens to the public, and I shall have my climbing home away from home, closer to home. I love the community at LA Boulders, and Ill continue to make my weekly rounds there; however, it will be SO nice to have another only minutes from my home.Also... FIRST REVIEW!!!😜👍🙌👍😜
Trendiest, cleanest, largest gym Ive ever been to. They even have a local coffee shop make a special blend roasted just for their iced coffee they sell in store. The climbing structures are huge, terrain varied, holds clean, routes well spaced. No autobelays. Expensive, as you would expect. Ratings are very soft so you can be pleased with the ratings you climb here. Overall had a great first time visit, would be a member if I lived closer. Its a Touchstone gym so I think membership includes some bay area gyms.
My favorite climbing gym in LA. Bouldering section is very large with lots of fun top rope routes as well.
The people and community are great. The routes are constantly being updated. Extra tallCeiling height for ropes climbs is a bonus. The sauna after climbing is wonderful.
Navigation used to b more alert and on time. Sometimes th instructions come late. Otherwise very glad I have it. It doesnt hurt for others to know very much but for some it does. 🍀📐😝➡
Great for climbing enthusiasts. Yoga classes are okay but it’s a super young crowd
Best rock gym in LA for both bouldering and ropes. They also have fun classes, like acro yoga and nice locker rooms with saunas.
This is without a doubt the best climbing gym. Ive been to. Awesome facilities, fun routes, a little busy later in the day/ weekends but where in LA isnt?
*update 5-1-2019* they added a 4th treadmill but one of them has been broken for a month. So has one of the stationary bikes. One of the showers has been broken for over a month. The staff is indifferent. Cliffs is synonymous with disrepair.*/update**update 3-22-2018* 2 of the 3 treadmills are out of service, one has been out of service for over a month.*/update*The walls and routes are nice and offer variety. The climbing is good but there are a few things that majorly detract from this location as a be-all gym.Parking is a nightmare during peak hours.Gym equipment is in disrepair (treadmills dont work or go beyond a slow jog, broken mirrors, stuck bench press rack, etc.) And the gym area is cramped and not well equipped. They also have a debit and credit card minimum which I find inconvenient but the management is dismissive of my opinion. Ive just stopped purchasing snacks from here.Again, the climbing is good but everything else could use some work.
Great climbing gym. Lots of bouldering, plus top roping and lead. They also offer classes and workshops like yoga, acroyoga, partner stretching, etc. training rooms and gyms upstairs. bonus: Saunas and quality products in the showers.
Friendly staff, clean facility, a ton of space to climb! Sauna is great and for the price it’s all a mega deal! Can’t wait to come back
Best indoor climbing gym in the greater los angeles area - and judging by the competition, that says a lot. The bouldering area is huge and has challenging problems for climbers of all levels. With large bay windows and a lounge-like waiting area, you can easily spend an entire day here. It feels almost like a co-working area with climbing built into it. Great stop for some spiderman-like relaxation.
Good boulder problems. Nice environment.
My favorite gym Ive ever been to. Great vibe, really good problems & routes, and a food truck outside to get your grub on after a long session!
Great gym with tons of bouldering and a decent amount of good lead and top-rope routes as well. Friendly staff and clientele, and memberships at other Touchstone gyms are valid here. Lots of seating and good wifi, too. No autobelays and most people just boulder, so you may have trouble if you go here by yourself hoping to do roped climbing.
This became a superb climbing gym with the addition of rope climbing. Great community and very spacious gym.
This place is amazing and has amazing staff a lot of different unique levels for people who have never climb before all the way to really experienced climber also and has a gym you can do yoga and they have gear that you could either rent or buyfHonestly I had a really good experience I would recommend to anyone
Great climbing gym! Tons of boulder problems for all skills levels and a large top roping area. Sauna, gym, and other strength training facilities as well.
.. large set of bouldering problems with excellent variety ( slabs, volumes, arches, roofs, dynos.. you name it). Grades seem a bit soft at the lower end (v5-v7)
Fantastic climbing gym, lots of bouldering, and medium size top roping area. Friendly staff, clean space, decent weight room.
Best rock climbing place I’ve ever been to. If you need it, they probably have it.
Super fun and awesome to bring friends here and already made friends with the staff really easy and nice to talk to..!!!
Awesome gym with great setting! Highly recommend.
The best gym. So clean and nice, great route setting, wall articulations, superb holds, friendly and open community and staff, parking lot, etc etc. The best!!!
Great place to climb. Nice bathrooms.
One of the best climbing gyms in Southern California, especially with the addition of the ropes. The new standard of climbing gyms.
Great gym but Routes were not labeled
5 Stars to offset the one disgruntled guy that apparently just wanted this to be LA Fitness and not a climbing gym :)
Amazing gym. New routes being set constantly.
I had my first bouldering class here a couple months ago and havent stopped coming. The staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are awesome.
Nicer than Berkeley Ironworks. Ha.
Very close to a Pacific NW bouldering gym. Good vibe, friendly people.
I loved it!
Had the best time here
Great climbing workout
Small parking lot, youll probably have to resort to street parking. Clean bathrooms and showers.
Fire
My sons love this place.
Great facility, really friendly staff and patrons
This place had so much to climb and keep you busy, and if you dont wanna use a harness there is plenty of bouldering to keep you busy as well as a gym with classes
Very good
Great bouldering and a clean facility, but it can get crowded, and a monthly membership is (at this time) around $75
Really good.
New favorite place!
Excellent gym, but the hours are kinda restrictive.
Chill place, friendly stuff, sauna ... Ill miss this place.
I love this place!!!
Sensational 😎
The best!
