I joined the club because they had the 24hrs shift. I liked going in at 11:30 Pm and leave around 1:30Am, before the COVID-19 pandemic started. After that they didn’t charge anyone the monthly membership fee for a while then they opened again only canceling 3rd shift.. People were able to call and suspend the monthly charge for a few months due to the pandemic. After that now people were not able to suspend the membership without a doctors note. I think that moved was an invasion of personal privacy. The fact of the matter is during that time no one including the CDC didn’t quite knew how to handle it properly. I was able to call several times to suspend my membership for a couple months until they changed that with requiring a doctors note. I then call to stop my membership because I was not going to provide any doctors note to stop my membership that was ridiculous. Plus when I called they also told me that I already passed my one year probation and due to me missing a couple months without paying in the pandemic I had to pay late payments in addition to the fees. The problem was when they opened again and they started to charge people again the had limited hours. I could only workout at nights. I feel the fact they shutdown the 24hrs schedule they should have given those people an option to opt-out until reopening for 24hrs. Now I’m dealing with some collections agencies try to get me to pay for not paying my missing monthly fees. Again the missing payments came after I called and tried to end my membership after I could no longer suspend my membership. If they didn’t shutdown 3rd shift I would of still be there working out at the Gym. I don’t have any other complaints at all. I loved the hours they had when it was 24hrs. They used to keep that place and the equipments clean. Good environment at nights no waiting for people to get off their phone while they were hugging the machines. It’s sad it had to end like this for something not our making. Look everybody in 2020 including credit cards companies and utilities companies were working with everyone because the pandemic. I just think is crazy for the Edge to send people to collections agencies when they were the one who had to shutdown. Hopefully I could go back once they opened their doors again for 24hrs. I hope they stop scamming people for their membership.
Edge fitness manages to updates it hours for post COVID 19 and everything else but can’t correct the kids club hours. According to online kids club is open Sunday’s 8am to 1230pm and when I arrived 7/25/2021 I was informed it’s closed. I asked if it’s just for today they said no every Sunday. I informed them the edge corporate website says it is open. I explained they have updated the hours to reflect COVID changes, why not the kids club. Member of the staff told me the kids club wasn’t opening on Sundays even prior to the pandemic. It’s a simple adjustment to make on a website if a company is going to post one thing and do another it would be nice to find accurate information on its website. Also have staff be a little nicer when conveying their companies mistake to it’s clients. I even called a few other local edges and they confirmed the kids club was open on Sunday’s pre-pandemic. But sure staff will make excuses for a obvious error on their companies side instead of apologizing for the mistake and saying they could look into having it addressed
They put me on collections after I cancelled my membership so what they are doing is illegal and that place should be demolished by the city.

Yes this gym does have a lot of stuff to offer but it’s not worth the $10-$25 a month. This gym is to busy and I find myself always waiting for benches and squat racks. The gym set up is horrible with only 4 squat racks. The clientele degrades the value of the gym, there are to many young kids here who spend more time talking and holding equipment when people who actually want to work out have to wait. The staff has nothing better to do than constantly walk around and tell people to raise their mask over there nose.

Been here for a little while and have been extremely happy over all. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Place is extremely clean and they have more than enough equipment to make everyone I would think happy and satisfied. If I “had” to write a con, because no place is perfect but we all can improve. I love the option of the shake bar, but a majority of the time there’s only 1 person working there. Shakes can be a little time consuming to make which is understandable and I try to be patient but during peak hours, when there’s 4-5 people in front of you, you could find yourself waiting 20-25 minutes for a shake. I can get a steak dinner w/ a appetizer and margarita at Texas road house in a quicker amount of time. Again, no knock on the employee at the shake bar, there moving and going as fast as they can but they take time to prepare. Suggestion, Maybe hire someone and designate them just for that area, at least during peak times with a person trained to back them up if needed. I have left in recent weeks without stopping and getting a shake when seeing 4+ customers there. I just can’t wait 20+ minutes and at 6.50 a shake, I’m sure the profit margin is there to appease to your loyal customers as everyone’s time is valuable. Second con and hoping they are working on this. Business hours. Edge at one time if I recall was a 24 hr facility. With covid, understand there were a lot of changes but as we go back to normal, you have reopened the KidsZone. You don’t require masks for vaccinated customers. But yet, your hours on the weekends are still not accommodating, especially for those who work weekend jobs 8-4 or 9-5. Saturdays you are open till 6pm, Sundays till 5pm. If you do not plan on going back to 24 hrs, here is a suggestion for edges district or regional managers, at least compete with planet fitness which is opened till 7pm on weekends to accommodate those who work those weekend hours. Again both cons very fixable and overall, I personally have a great experience every time I am there and plan on staying a loyal customer for years to come as long as the weekend hours are addressed in the near future. Thank you guys again for helping me with my life changes and goals !!

Signed up in Jan 2020 went that one day never went again with corona and whatnot they were closed now they Are open but I can’t go I can’t wear a mask while I work out I have asthma and they’re telling me I have to pay to cancel my membership or wait until my contract is up which was supposed to be in January and now is may 2021. I can’t even understand why I was not informed when I signed up that i was locked into paying for this for a year . I’m completely annoyed with this facility and like they’re should be no questions asked during these times . And don’t tell me u have options because they’re all ridiculous .
Bryan Hilario was amazing he’s the assistant GM. He gave us a tour and was very informative. He made us feel very safe about COVID-19 . We are so excited to start! was great he made us feel so welcomed he’s a super friendly guy! He also gave us complimentary protein shakes. I can’t wait to start my fitness journey!
Some of the Trainers take weights from your rack without asking if youre using them. Not courteous at all
When I first joined I loved it. I’m not loving it or even liking it very much. Things have definitely changed. When I signed up for a free Training session with my 30.00 membership I honestly got at the most 20 min. Another member paying for a personal trainer was coming. I wasn’t allowed to reschedule. Some of the employees are not professional, I understand you are representing a gym, however there’s no need to strut around. It makes me cringe. Also trying to get in touch with the corporate office is impossible. This is ended up being just like the “showy” gym I left. My membership is up soon and I’ll be cancelling and going somewhere else.
Customer service is horrible my husband canceled his membership in January 2021 and got an email from them stating last payment would be Feb and no other payments would be taken out. Come March he gets charged again we contact customer service they say he can cancel early we send the original email and they say that it will be canceled then even though they said not till June but since we had proof, but they now refuse to refund our March payment that should never have come out. They said we had to give a 30 day notice which we did and still wont give us our money back even though the first email states no more payments due after February and now all of a sudden we still owed for March stating something about our kids but they were on his policy and when he canceled his they would to be canceled since they are under 18 and its his policy. I find their customer service is horrible and just keep sending the same emails to us like its a repeat. Very unhappy being told its canceled last payment Feb then to turn around saying no then ok then no refund even though we said nonpayment after Feb

The facility is nice the staff is not taking the mask wearing seriously. There are members walking around without masks working out consistently there is a trainer working out in a room with no mask on even though her trainee has a mask on. This place has a lot of potential all the equipment is new and clean however in non Covid times they oversold it and it was extremely cramped not a bad place needs new management philosophy
I went to many gyms in my life time never went to a gym like this before Im 40 years old and I could say I feel so happy that there here to help us gain or lose weight..very professional they dont push you on selling you anything all they do is to give you the information you need to succeed your goals and your health...I meant Justine one of the best trainers i have ever meant his amazing young and eager to help anyone out..he knows his stuff thanks brother ..I felt so comfortable and content ..I also meant with one of the managers I forgot his name sorry bud all I know his Portuguese...lol ..but he was so helpful he listened to all my needs and I what I really wanted ..they have an amazing place to work out all the staff where attentive and respectful..I recommen this place to the highest level ..THANK YOU !! EDGE TEAM!!!!

Edge will not let you put a hold on your account due to covid. They also will not cancel your membership either. Im in a state where numbers are spiking to thousands of cases a day. I have asthma as well. They want a medical note!!!Custom Service in the Cranston location is so so poor. Rude service person. Also, NONE of this was gone over when signing the contract. I would recommend Planet Fitness over this place any day.

So I called a few weeks ago trying to stop my membership as I have signed up for a year they would not allow me to unless I paid my membership out right. Which I think its ridiculous! Some people are more nervous about this covid-19 thing than others I guess? But with me having a family and a mom whos in her sixties living with me, I cant risk going to the gym right now, needless to say I called and spoke to the supposed manager at the time who was totally rude and useless, tried to call corporate but they did not pick up wouldnt recommend this gym . I understand there being a contract but obviously were living through different times right now.
I have a serious medical condition and even with a note from my physician indicating that I cannot use the edge fitness clubs, ABC Financial (the finance partner of edge fitness club) refused to allow me to cancel my membership early. I have never been more disgusted with an organization in my life. Believe every negative review you read about this organization, and do not use their services if your gym partners with them. They are horrific, having not even a morsel of human decency.

I hate that you can’t cancel your subscription during a pandemic. It’s not safe to work out in a mask, nor is it safe to be near a ton of people in one place. Giving people to the option to cancel WITHOUT paying it off is the least that this company can do. Until then your probably going to receive more reviews like mines
So many space for me to do my calisthenics workout. A lot of weight training for those who wants to do bodybuilding or crossfit. Equipments are clean and hopefully itll maintain that way. Trainers takes their job seriously and Im glad that the members are actually working out and not always on their phones (if you know what i mean). I would recommend this place. Prices are affordable.

Awesome place, all brand new equipment, the technology inside is amazing. We love the fact there is child care/kids gym at a low price because now we can go to the gym together as a family. Everything is clean, hours are great. All in all great!

Absolute robbery beware as a consumer its your right to terminate a service anywhere for anything if you so choose. Well The edge fitness doesnt believe in an honest and transparent cancellation policy, in fact all integrity goes out the window for these guys when they pull things like randomly double charging, refusing to refund covid-19 monthly charges which equates to about 4 months that servicwere not rendered so payment should not have been taken. Keep the money that you stole because me exposing you for the crooks that you are should definitely hurt you more in the long run.

I went into this gym to try to get a membership and I found the staff refused to give me a tour of the facility . The gym membership costs 15 times the amount of other fitness clubs in Rhode Island so I didnt get the membership .. I asked 2 staff members and a female manager for a cup of cold water and I was refused it by all 3 staff members so I walked out the door thirsty and angry at the poor treatment I got from this fitness club.
Incredibly disappointed in this organization. I attempted to cancel a membership that we cannot use and their finance company is making it very difficult. Be very cautious in doing f business with them. I had to put one starting the rating but would like to take it away and go to negative stars!
Could’ve been 5 star but the manager there is straight up a rude person he just doesn’t care about what you want to say and that’s mostly the only reason why I wanted to put a review. At first I was going to give it a 4 star because the people that work there are simply amazing and super chill they treat you respect and feels like their even your friends of how good they treat you and it doesn’t feel awkward. Lastly the gym is pretty expensive but not too expensive it should be less but not dramatically less but overall pretty good if it wants for the manager there treating people like dirty
I don’t understand why on November 30th I got charged my monthly subscription when all gyms shutdown in the state from Nov 30 to Dec 14 if I’m not going to the gym I shouldn’t get charged... all this gym does is take people’s money don’t recommend it to anyone.
Watch out for this gym. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Terrible cancellation policy so they can literally MAKE YOU stay at their gym. Never experienced such awful customer service. They do not allow you to cancel if you are not happy at their gym, even while in a pandemic. Absolutely unprofessional and don’t care about their customer’s needs. Any customer that is not happy should have the choice to leave if wanted. Been to many gyms and by far, this is the worst.

Whats Good in the Hood!!!!! Yeah this gym is good as any other but (Jamesa) Jam Jam gave me Class A service which made this my final deciding factor. Shes always smiling and sincerely greeting me when I come to the gym even before the gym was open and I was just interested to see what the gym was about. She has displayed an extremely professional example of how employees at all gyms should handle customer service. Honesty, Sincerity, and Authentic. Honestly, if it wasn’t for her, I wouldnt have joined the gym at all. They got themselves a Great Employee! 💪🏾 Now lets get this workout inGMC
Laawwwwd. I love this gym.Artie’s spin classes are my favorite, when I can get to them. They are up to spin studio level or better. That’s something you don’t get in ‘big’ gyms like YMCA, etc. BUT YA’LL HAVE IT HERE.I tried the childcare once when this location first opened. Unorganized a little but that’s expected and didn’t bother me. Kids are wild. My son is 2 and likes to play with the big kids not the little guys. I noticed when I peeked in that he was trying to go into the older kid area to play basketball but couldn’t (assuming legal, liability, blah blah). The reason I haven’t used it again is that it’s not super secure. A friend of mine with a 4 year old absolutely loves it though. Perhaps in a couple months, not during peak hours...I’ll try it again. 😂The candy bar craving smoothie. So good.
Jamesa is the best staff I’ve had experienced so far. She’s been very helpful from the beginning. One of my favorites in the gym for sure!
State of the art. Honestly this place is like my 2nd home. I go 5 to 6 times a week. I love riding the stationary bike in the cinema and then 3 to 4x a week i hit the machines for weight lifting to the massage chair. The staff are great

Sad to give this gym a one star because all the staff is amazing and friendly. But it takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch for me. The manager Brian ruined my experience. He was very rude and dismissive. Seemed to have rushed the conversation and didn’t really care about what I was saying. Edge is great other than him.

They have a lot of choices for fitness, including a womans center (how great is that !?) But their prices are insane and kinda a scam and I wish they enforced proper masks wearing more firmly but at the same time most people wear masks appropriately.

All attitudes change to bad .Other members mentioned this disturbing feeling couldnt believe it till i experience it myself and i did..make sure you read and go tru your contract with accuracy...good luck
Had a bad experience at the massage station today and Bryan was not the nicest nor most understanding person. Please have more control of the time slots before people start leaving the gym. Aside from that, it can get crowded/busy at times but the equipments are good.
Edge has been amazing! One employee that has stood out the most is James’s Porter. She encourage me to get a membership that i was not planning to get and has been very supportive of me every time i step into the gym!
My sister signed up because they told her she could bring a guest and she doesnt wanna work out alone so she brings a guest everytime she goes in and one day they told her she had to pay $15 per day for the guest. Why didnt they say that before she signed up or the first time she brought a guest? And now to cancel they want her to pay over $600. What a scam.

I signed up a few months ago outside Stop & Shop with Jamesa Porter. It was her enthusiasm and encouragement without seeming pushy that was the deciding factor. I had been thinking about rejoining a gym but not a big fan of exercise. She pointed out alot of the benefits of The Edge and showed me pictures of what you offer. Im hoping all the employees are as friendly and enthusiastic as Jamesa.
