Awesome gym chain. The one in Cranston is my local gym. On my birthday, they gave me a combination of high-value gifts that were also highly relevant - a one-week team training program, a free smoothie, a one on one personal training session and a couple of other freebies. And of course, they have great facilities even if you dont need all those classes. Fantastic value.

Clean and pleasant gym. Prices are also reasonable. The only reason for my two star rating is because of a bad experience with the gentleman at the reception. I knew that I had 25 minutes before the gym closed one day (I think it was labor day) and I still went but as soon as I got there, the door was locked and I could see a ton of people working out inside. So I called the reception and the guy on the phone told me that he cant open the door since they close soon. I told him that we still have 25 minutes to work out and Ill get out a bit early to give him enough time to close but he rushed me and ended the conversation and hung up on me. I was on my way to my car and saw a lady walk towards the gym so I told her not to go since the door is closed. She asked me for the receptionists number and she called them and he immediately opened the door and the woman and I went into the gym. It was still bright and sunny outside so he definitely saw me. Im brown and have a bit of an accent. The receptionist is a middle aged white dude and he opened the door for a white lady but not me. Tell me this is not prejudice. Anyway, I experience this kind of thing sometimes and unfortunately its part of living here. So Im just giving anyone with similar concerns a heads up about this place. I sent an email about my experience via retro fitness website, but never heard back from them. This was a few months ago. I dont care how nice the gym is if I am not treated with dignity and respect.

Great staff. The training is tough, which is what I need. Theyre very helpful and the movie room is genius.

So my friend wanted to work out with me since I was back home from leave so she invited me to a gym where her membership was going to expire this month. They have a one day pass for anyone who receives a invitation via email from a already member. Im assuming the manager told her no matter what she does she wouldnt honor it and Id have to pay $10. Asked her if she did anything for military members on active duty and she still with an attitude told me no unless I was planning on becoming a member. Told her thanks for her hospitality and told my friend to drop it and for us to leave. Dont recommend this place for any service member or anyone for that matter with a cold hearted manager like this sorry but shes really a sorry excuse of a maam.

Ive only been a few times but it seemed like a nice comfortable gym where you can get a nice workout in at a decent price. I already have 3 months free so i wont be paying for a while so thats a huge plus. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. One downside is the size of the gym but i do not mind. Small freeweights are.

Disregard the review stars. Im only here to make a comment. Its sad to see so many poor reviews. I was a member from 2013 to late 2015. The gym was fantastic back then. When I left, they had just switched over to Retro Fitness but nothing changed aside from the colors and a few equipment. I wonder if management has changed as well since last year or so. Too bad because I wanted to sign up again. I only left because I took a job somewhere else...now Im back in town.

Best gym in the state! Friendly staff and great range of work out equipment and machines.

Stopped by while traveling from out of town. Great atmosphere, friendly people, full range of equipment for lifting, cardio, and functional exercise. Cant beat it for the price, too!

Love this gym (and that says a lot from a girl who doesnt like the gym...)

Place is ok. If 20 or 10 bucks a month then good but at 80 for a family. Thats crazy. Some equipment is dated and the circuit stuff is odd. I even heard that 2 days after we tried it out they shut it down. They were going to sign us up on a Sat and close it down on a Monday. Hey why dont you skip the poor and tell us that youre going to close it down in a few days so that we dont waste our time. Or get burned out of our money. Very odd experience.

Last night I was forced to resign my membership from the Cranston - RI store as a result of being insulted and verbally accosted by the manager Kristen. I had renewed my membership and paid the desired amount. She approached me a couple of days later and accosted me in front of the entire membership and dressed me down demanding more money - it was demoralizing and she lacks professional leadership skills. I had no alternative but to ask for my money back and leave the gym and cancel my membership. I am a senior with a professional relationship in the community. Please do something - people are leaving the gym because of her management style.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Not for the gym itself but for how the employees treats you. If i bring a friend to see the gym for a workout when retro website offers a free trial then after a manager just tells you that whatever we do she wont allow us to use the gym unless we pay.It was how RUDE she was to us and she wont validate anything we showed her. That is just wrong!I am a member and because of this, I will more than happy in no longer coming to this gym. That lady has no respect or any good values in her acting. Im very disappointed in the experience.
