We rely on the Lifthouse for all of our ski equipment and apparel. Great service and technical skills. Best boot fitting I have had in 50 years of skiing. We ski 80 days/year so selecting skis boots, goggles is important that they provide superior advice. Also, maintaining the gear is essential, the shop always has skis tuned on time or early, they tweak boot fits included in the purchase price of the boot. Very honest, great service, friendly and competitive pricing.
Best place for ski equipment and apparel in the US. Fun and knowledgeable staff. Only the best at the lift house. They will take care of you.
We were told Dont leave the area without stopping by The Lifthouse. I would say dont go skiing without going by The Lifthouse first. Ive been in the market for a new pair of boots all season and their boot fitter Mikey did an outstanding job of finding me the perfect pair and getting them to fit just right. Even for the very end of the season they had a great selection, very good prices and staff that were not burned out. If you are going to Solitude, Brighton, Alta or Snowbird do yourself a favor and stop by The Lifthouse before going up the hill. And if you need help with boots, find Mikey!
I purchased my first really nice pair of ski boots here - significant upgrade from my previous bargain buy! I was super impressed with the Lifthouse staff, especially Dan, who spent a long time helping me find just the right fit. After my first ski in the boots, I returned for more custom fitting which they were happy to do for me and spent a good amount of time yet again. They have awesome technology to fit the boots just right! Worth the money in every way for the customization and Dan even helped my husband on a return visit pick out his and worked with our budget. Dont go anywhere else- Lifthouse is the best!
Great local ski and gear shop. We visited multiple times over our stay. They did an awesome job repairing my skis that had a core shot. Didn’t buy any ski boots here, but they seem to know their stuff. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lifthouse inspired me to write my first ever Google review. After working with Dan for over two hours, my wife and I now have boots that fit with custom service Ive never experienced before. I will gladly be returning and Lifthouse has my business forever. Thanks again Dan!
Best ski shop in Utah. Great boot fitters. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of good quality product. Great location, right on your way to the Cottonwood resorts.
Very good family owned ski shop, It is very good at making your skis shiny and beautiful.99999/10 would recommend. The owners son is also a very good entertainment. My favorite ski shop to get my drip to go have mega cool fun on the slopes. (vroom vroom)
The Lifthouse is amazing! I was helped by Rabbit and he took so much care and time into fitting me into a new pair of ski boots. I used the boots for the first time today and they were great! Fit well, no heel lift, no numbness, no pain and warm! Cant thank Rabbit enough for all his help!
The ski shop for skiers by skiers.Zac, Luke and their dedicated and passionate staff are some of the best people in the ski industry. With decades of experience and an in depth knowledge of every aspect of skiing. This is a great shop located the perfect place to take care of all your Big and Little cottonwood canyon needs.Whether you forgot something and need to grab a pair of gloves or goggles, or need to get a dialed fit on your ski boots from Rabbit or Charlie. This is a real ski shop that cares for their customers.
The lifthouse was awesome! They were having a super great sale and a girl with short blonde hair helped me out with my goggle search. She was so kind and helpful!
Normally a solid place for all things gear related. This morning though, while the lineup of cars started to que up the canyons, the Lifthouse is closed because nobody has a key to the shop. A lot of unhappy patrons waiting in their cars to get their tuned boards and skis. 9:30am on a Saturday morning and the place is still not open.
It was great! They fitted me correctly and I feel comfortable with my rental. It just happened that I got new boots and skis. The staff was welcoming and the selection to purchase was outstanding. Thank you!
Mounted my skis. Fast and no problems. Nice people even got me a new ski strap cause they lost mine.
Very helpful staff, great gear and really good deals.
These guys are great. They have rentals if you do not have your own equipment and they have tuning if you need a good touch up on your set up.They also sell really high quality products such as Hestra gloves and mittens, and many, many ski brands. The staff is nice and very helpful. In season, be prepared for your ski tune to take a few days. My advice is drop it off on a Tuesday so you are ready for your weekend trips.
Fast and easy ski rental pickup and return. Wide selection of skis to pick from, I loved the Black Crows Animas. Cost was a little higher than some of the other places I looked at ($95 for two days all in for just skis and poles) but they were actually open at 8am on a big snow day unlike another shop up the road.
Good service from smart people. They had the boots and bindings I was looking for.
Buy your passes here, way cheaper than at the resorts or online. TIP
They helped me pick out my first full ski setup. They had great deals on quality equipment at the end of the season.
Great place for all your ski and snowboard needs. Centrally located for snowbird and solitude ski areas. And discount lift tickets. Wide selection of skis, boards for demo or rent. I have been a customer for decades.
Great locals to help you decide and outstanding prices. Much bigger than it looks from the outside, this place is STACKED with prime merchandise.
I was blown away with the rental department! They were amazing. Highly recommend stopping here before heading up the canyon and avoiding the chaos at the resorts. Equipment was top-notch. Next season we will definitely do a season rental for our young ones.
I have purchased 2 pairs of ski boots from the Lifthouse over the past 5 years. Luke fitted me for boots and I love them! He was patient, gave me great advice about the best flex & fit for my ski level, and was super nice. He made sure I was happy with the fit and continued to make adjustments until they were just right!
Great high end product selection and colors that you cannot find online. Pricing is equal to what I have found on sale/outlet sources, but here you get to actually touch, feel, and try on everything prior to buying. Super helpful staff with all gear needs.
Easy to rent. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had friends in town who needed rentals. Lication is great at base of Big Cottonwood.
Ive been popping into various stores around town to browse and collect advice about new skis. By the time I visited the Lifthouse, Id been to six other stores, each of which were pleasant experiences with friendly staff. Still, the Lifthouse blew them all away. Even though I started out saying that I wasnt planning to purchase for a few more weeks, Riley took the time to ask a ton of questions about my experience, skiing style, and future ski plans-- something none of the other stores had really done. He then suggested some skis I should consider, giving pros and cons of each. He spent well over an hour talking with me, and I left feeling more comfortable and informed than after all the other discussions Ive had and reviews Ive read combined. By the time I left, Id narrowed my search down to two models, with a strong suspicion of which would be the best match. At no point did he put any pressure on me to buy anything.I came in later that week so that visiting friends could rent equipment, and I figured Id demo the frontrunner ski. Unfortunately, their demo had been badly damaged the previous day by a customer. They only had one left in stock, so if they set it up with a demo binding, they wouldnt have one for me to buy. The manager, Chris, offered to mount my choice of bindings on the new ones, sell me the setup (at a very reasonable price), and allow me to return it for a full refund at the end of the day if they werent what I wanted. I figured that this is an even better deal than a demo, so why not?The skis were exactly what I was looking for and exactly as Riley described. The skis arent going back to the store, but I will.
Switched from snowboarding to skiing after 25 years. Zac and his team made it a pleasant and enjoyable experience in buying my new gear. In fact, we had a little set up issue and they took the time to make it right and demonstrate what excellent customer service is all about. I can’t recommend these guys enough for all your ski equipment needs. You’ll be glad to shop at the Lift House. Thanks guys!
Visiting from FLA, we came in right before close on a Friday... not ideal for anyone ha! The owner Zac greeted us and helped us get situated with the rentals immediately. The guys in the back were very helpful and patient with us as we tried on our gear. We were able to get good deals on our lift tickets which saved us time and money for the weekend. The entire experience was efficient and pleasant. 10/10 would recommend.
Great local shop. I bring in fresh homemade skis for an initial base grind and tune. They don’t put up a fuss, just get it done and do a great job.
I have rented from this place multiple times. Friendly staff and quality products. Highly recommended.
The Lifthouse is the Place to go for ski gear in Utah. Zac hooked me up with some awesome ski’s. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
This is my go to shop for the best gear and apparel. The staff is always super friendly and very knowledgeable. I always take visiting friends and family here for the best rentals as well.
Very helpful. My go to place to buy boots and skis. This year, they helped me choose my new Rossi Soul 7s in the perfect length for me and it made this awesome snow year even better.
The staff knows everything to do with skiing. great place to purchase boots they know their stuff to make it fit correctly. if you have boots that are not quite right they do an awesome job to correct the issues. I highly recommend this shop.
Shows online it is open until 7:00pm. Even when you get there the sign shows those hours. It was closed on a Saturday when we stopped in at 5:30pm.
Amazing customer experience at an affordable price... My family of 4 was all equipped to hit Snowbird for the first time thanks to the manager, Chris. We could not have been in better hands; from the rusty racer, to the 7, 10, and 38 year old newbies, Chris made our week with his knowledge and support.
These guys were great. Was recommend by a friend and wasnt disappointed. Also great prices on renting and buying demo skies. If you like them, you can buy them.
Great staff, great variety of gear to choose from. Wish they had more than just Alta gear, but found stuff to buy anyway!
Awesome experience here, brought in a broken boot with no hope of getting it fixed. The staff was very helpful and welcoming and actually brought the boot back to life. Would absolutely stop back here when passing through SLC.
They have a good selection. The product they carry is upscale.
The Lift House is the best place in Salt Lake City for ski and snowboard rentals, demos, and gear! Ive lived in the valley for 30 years, and every time I have friends or family in town that need ski gear, I send them to the Lift House. Not only is the location convenient, right at the base of the Big Cottonwood canyon, but they are friendly, and have high quality rentals. The Lift House also has great ski gear, including long underwear, jackets, hats, and gloves by brands that I love. Stop in and see these guys!
Very quick and straightforward service. Knowledgeable staff. There is also a food truck parked right outside their store so you can grab breakfast before heading up the mountain.
Super friendly staff that are ready to help out without making you feel dumb. They seem to have a great selection of products and rental equipment. Will continue to go here over places like Milo.
Ive been skiing for 30 years in Utah and finally decided to shell out for some brand new boots. I have weird feet and skiing has been pretty painful for me for the past few years until now. Got fitted by an extremely knowledgeable and experienced staff and could not be happier with my new boots.
Quick service and great price. 2sets of ski gear for $35! We did want longer fatter skiis for the powder at Alta and they gave us shaped skiis.
Family owned and operated, great service, great staff. These guys know the ski business and take care of the customer.
A real ski shop. Excellent tuning
I went to buy lift tickets for Solitude, I paid for 7 and assumed that they stack of tickets they handed me was the correct amount, I should have counted and asked for a receipt. When I got to Solitude I realized they only gave me 5 tickets even though I paid for 7, a difference of $150. I called to see what my options were they told me that there was no way they could have given me the wrong amount and they wouldnt do anything. I understand not just taking someones word on something like this but at least give me options, dont just tell me theres no way you did nothing wrong. Last time I go there.
My husband and I have been going to this shop for years. If we could give it 100 stars we would, they are the nicest people and there are not enough words to actually discribe them. Do not believe the very few bad reviews, you will go a long way to find a shop as good as The Lift House!
My son and I have bought tons of equipment from the Lifthouse. They are friendly, helpful and know what they are talking about. I go there all the time now for all my skiing needs. Highly recommended.
Very VERY cool ski shop. No frills with all the fixing a ski bump could ask for. Honestly priced wears and some local attire worth the stop alone. Very helpful staff who answered all my annoying questions on ski goggles and had more information than I thought I wanted. At the base of little cottoncanyon for those who need something on their way to snowbird or alta
Dan the man helped fix my boots! Very experienced staff with a nice boot oven and the proper equipment and expertise to help fix those sticking points.
Get your rentals and tunes here.
Family member bought boots. Excellent service and extremely knowledgeable about the products. Very patient. Would definitely purchase great from here again.
Good discount lift ticket prices, but they seem to have a discount on clothes all the time but its about the same as the price would be without a discount at other places.
Amazing ski shop! Ultra friendly folks, expert gear guidance and boot fitting ballers. Highly recommend.
For rentals, hit or miss with this place. Sometimes the staff is nice, sometimes they are unpleasant, depends on who you get. Make sure to really take the time to make sure you get the correct gear for yourself; otherwise, you may not be setup with the correct skis/boots for type of skiing you want to do. Read up beforehand on boot fitting and if you are not comfortable with what you have, ask for more options. If still do not have something that will work, go somewhere else, numerous rental options in the area.
Great help with fitting my boots with heaters and booster straps!
The offer good equipment at very reasonable prices and the customer service was top notch. We were in and out in 10 minutes.
Friendly workers with great service!
Excellent store! Nice staff, good prices off season
Very good place for outdoor equipment.
Great prices, good quality rental skis/boots, and lightning fast service. Definitely would recommend renting from them!
Great ski shop, they were able to repair a friends skis quickly and easily. Good selection of ski gear.
Staff was very knowledgable with alpine boot fitting. Excellent size selection.
Great selection of gloves. We didnt need anything else but it seemed to be a well stocked shop.
Buy you lift tickets in advance here. Friendly staff. Love the new building just across the parking lot
Went to lift house for ski passes were down. They recommended Smiths for passes who doesnt sell them.
Nice folks. A ski store, not much for snowboarders unless you are renting.
Excellent service, close to resorts and good rental pricing. The staff is very helpful and efficient.
We stop there often because its on the way to the SLC resorts. The merchandise and pricing are fine but the customer service is mediocre at best.
These guys are awesome! Totally custom fitted ski boots!
Great service. Helpful staff across the board
These guys know their stuff and sell only the best skis and avalanche gear!
The snowboard setup I hired was great. Great service and good selection.
Awesome service and very capable people.
Good ski shop, has all you need in case you forget something.
Knowledgeable staff who was eager to help with all my questions. Also Zac is hilarious!
Good help. I think I was given good advice.
Great selection of cloths and equipment!! Discounted lift tickets too!!
Great staff, very convenient location, much cheaper than renting on the mountain and just as convenient since its right in the road to go up and come down
By far the best ski shop in town. Great people great prices.
Great location, right before big and little cottonwood canyon.
On Dec 20, 2013 arriving at the Lift House from southern California, I brought a pair of comp 100 Lange ski boots. One of the boots has a liner with hole in it. One of their sale associate suggested that I bought a new pair of boots instead of having a customized liner. I tried my right foot with the Lange LV RX 100, and some other boots in the left foot. When I decided that I want the Lange boot, I didnt even try to wear the left boot. The store was almost closed so the sale associate did not even offered to heat my boot to mold to my feed. I skied the next day and I felt that I wore two different boots. I thought that the left liner was defected. The following day, I brought the boots in and one of the associate put some peace of rudmentary padding onto the insole. These kind of padding should never belong to the boots from Lange with retail price of 600.00USD and I paid 500.00 for them. I skied that day, and felt the same problem. The right foot felt great but the left boot felt awful. So I brought the boots to the store again and someone else added more padding into the boot (the one that should not be put into the boot.) The problem remained so I decided to take all the padding out. And skied the rest of my trip without them. I could never feel I had control of my left foot. Through out my vacation, I thought that they had sold me a defected left boot. When I came back to California, I discovered that the left boot has a Dabello insole in it. Then I realized why the problem happened. I called to ask them to send me the original insole from Lange. I spoke with Bratt and he asked me to send the pair of boots back to them so that they can fix the problem. I did not agree with him. ( All I need is the insole from Lange RX100 size 25.5) Then, he suggested me to bring my boots to the Sport Chalet in Huntington beach, one of the authorized dealer of Lange boots to get the right insole. When I brought my boots in, Sport Chalet told me that it didnt have extra Lange insoles in the size and model I wanted. The store manager at the Sport Chalet had to contact the Lift House to ask them send the original insole to me. Finally, they agreed to send me those insole. Now, I have to wait to see if they follow through with their promise. These peoples are not honest, they should have known about the wrong insole when I brought back the boot to their store when they took the insole out to add padding. Twice someone complained about a particular boot of the pair and twice they took a Dabello insole out of a Lange boot and did not said anything about that. When I asked Brat (store manager) to send me the original insole from Lange, they just BS and did not tell me the truth. He told me that Lange made many different insoles for the same model which I knew was a total lie. When I was at the Sport Chalet, he talked the manager there into convincing me to buy an after market insole. My feet are very regular and the insole from Lange will fit me well. This is my third pair of Lange boots that I bought. Unfortunately, I never thought that they sole me a boot with the wrong insole. They ruined my ski vacation by not being truthful with me. I will never come back to this place again. I have never had any experience like this anywhere in any retail store of any kind. I spoke with Bratt on the phone and met two others in the store. These peoples are not sincere. And Brat is a liar. They pretend to be nice but they dont value honesty.Update: Bratt did not follow through on his promise as I had been afraid of. I finally contacted Lange and get a new pair of insoles for my boots free of charge.
I had my ski boots fit a few years ago at another shop. Because of some issues, I was considering buying orthotics +/- a new liner +/- new boots. I went to a couple of shops in the valley mentioned on websites for having good bootfitters. Generally they wanted to replace all of the above for big money, and some of them wouldnt even talk to me until I paid them $50 for an evaluation. Chris at the Lifthouse listened to my issues, made custom orthotics for a good price, added some foam padding to the boots in some critical spots, and helped fix a minor boot issue without charge. Even if I did want to buy boots and have a custom liner made, their mid-season prices were better than everyone elses with immediate service. Highly recommended.
Very knowledgeable stuff.
Good selection, very helpful
One of the best ski shops in Salt Lake City
This shop does a great job - proessional service and they are knowledgable. Locals.
Great place to buy gear and lift tickets.
Good prices on ski rentals for in-town guests.
Knowledgeable staff and friendly service.
Best ski shop around.
Large ski shop at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon. They sell discounted lift tickets to many of the local resorts.
