Brought my “slow” computer into Dean. He told me what his procedure was and that the Hard drive was probably to blame. He ran the virus scan (9+ hours) and found close to 200 viruses.He corrected the problem and gave me a great tutorial on what NOT to do to prevent viruses.Great guy, knows is trade and is able to convey his knowledge to you.Great value and quick turnaround.

I was recommended to Dean by a good friend and I walked in with a dead hard drive in my laptop. Dean warned me that the laptop I had is considered a throwaway - its not really meant to be repaired. Sure enough, the hinge literally snapped off as he was opening it up. Considering how much I use it, and how loose it already was, it did not surprise me at all! He recommended a business-class laptop with a better system - and a better price than I could get a new throwaway from a big-box store!Ive worked over 15 years in the IT industry - but not in replacing hardware, thats out of my league! Dean was very straightforward, very fair prices, fast, and fun to work with. Will definitely recommend him to others!

Let me say right up front that I am NOT your average computer user. I am not an IT specialist, but have hundreds of people that come to me to help them fix massive computer issues. My life changed instantly last week when my laptop went down. I run three businesses so I had to move fast on this, and my last computer geek friend that has always helped me fix big issues is now out of the country. I found Dean and was very worried about everything, but mostly for my down time, as I could not afford to be down for an hour. Dean took the time to run tons of tests, and ultimately figure out exactly why my computer would NOT work properly and highly advised me that it was time for a new one and to not spend all the money to fix the old one. I did that. And he reformatted the new drive, re-installed Windows, set up my security, and moved all of the files from my old computer to the new one. This did take several days, but he got it done as fast as he possibly could.I was impressed with his clarity and knowledge of what he was doing. I was impressed with how accommodating and friendly he was towards me. The thing I was not quite prepared for was how thorough he was and the fact that he kept me in the loop on what was going on. He is excellent in his communication skills. And what he charged me was very reasonable. He is not greedy and it truly seems like he loves helping others. You dont see that as much these days as you should. But the one thing that affected me the most, and this is the one thing I have already told about 10 friends/family members so far, was that Dean is so very busy with so many customers, yet he made me feel like I was his only customer and I was the most important one.So if you are looking for someone with a ton of expertise, passion, and someone who will commit to you and keep his word.....this is the gentleman. And I even told him last week that I finally found the BEST computer guy to take care of me moving forward.....I just wished he was 35 again so I would never hear that he was going to retire.

Dean makes sure you know what youre doing with your computer when you walk out the door. My first time there, but I was impressed that he cares about you learning how to take care of it. He also has a blog for his customers to keep you updated on what to do with all those updates, etc.

I took my laptop here since I broke my charging port. I literally accidentally snapped the inside of the charging port. I took it in since this was a highly recommended place from one of my FB group page. I got a call the next morning. I was told the motherboard burnt or got damaged. The guy was nice enough to recycle it for me. I just felt that I should have taken my laptop somewhere else for second opinion because it was in great working condition before I broke the charging port and then suddenly I was told of a different issue as to why my laptop was not working anymore.

Spilled OJ in to my laptop and thought it was toast. They said I was lucky, they just had to clean it up. They only charged me 20$They could easily have over charged me and I wouldnt have known any better. Loved how kind and honest they were here. I will always use them from now on!!!

I went in to PCbits after going to Best Buy and being informed that just to look at my computer would take two weeks, cost two hundred dollars and I would be expected to cover the full cost of the new parts.At PCbits, I had an evaluation done the very next day, had the faulty parts explained to me, then was informed on how to avoid the same problem, after which, I went into the store, and was taught how to do the repairs as well as several other things in order to fix and maintain my PC. This man knows his stuff. I could not be happier with the result!

Awesome service, I will absolutely rely on PC Bits if I run into future trouble. (Hopefully I wont, but you know.) When my computer broke down, I panicked. As a student, my computer is an essential tool for me, and a sudden failure was super stressful. The first place I called had a waiting list a week out, but offered to expedite my request to have my PC looked at for only $100. I politely declined that offer and checked the list of PC repair shops again. By good luck I happened to choose PC Bits next, and gave them a call. They were only too happy to help, and told me that I could bring in my computer to their shop that same day! I dropped it off, filled out some paperwork describing what the problem was, and left them to it. Before noon the next day they called me back, said my PC was good for pickup, and told me what the problem was (a burned-out video card). When I got there, they pointed me in the direction of the local parts shop, and had even cleaned out the inside of my PC! I cannot recommend them enough for their fast, experienced, and very pleasant service.

Ive got a Toshiba lap top with something built in where if my hand moves across the bottom at a certain angle the font get larger or smaller. Ive never figured out why or how that happens but it was driving me nuts. Ive had a couple of computer guys look at it and have been told its built in and theres nothing you can do about it. I love the computer except for that feature which was making me get ready to buy a new one. I met Dean at a Chamber meeting and asked him about it and in less than a minute he told me how to disable it which I did last night much to my surprise and happiness. Hes my computer guy from now on.

Called Bryan about recovering data from 8 computers from our home. Many pictures dating back 12 years. They were fantastic. Very reasonable compared to other squad and M. centers here in the Twin Cities. Days later everything was done. So satisfied that I called him back to replace and network all of our computers for our business. He quoted me a price on the entire system and stuck to the quote even though I suspect it took longer than expected. Excellent service. You wont be disappointed!

If i could give negative stars I would!! I brought my laptop in to have rebuilt. I left it there for a month because i was out of town for work. When i called to pick it up Dean said they sent it to the junkyard because i countldnt pick it up on time. So let me get this straight you sent a perfectly good computer to the junkyard? Im sure you . sold it and just kept the money. Shady company. Dont use them!!

I had bought a new hard drive for my laptop because I kept having a blue screen of death. I brought the laptop in and received that laptop in less than 24 hours. Dean transferred my existing files onto the new hard drive and created a back up onto the new hard drive. He explained and printed steps to restore my laptop back to this restore point if I ever needed to. On top of this, He didnt charge me anything! Awesome service, and will recommend to many friends and family with computer or laptop issues. OH and he cleaned my laptop screen and keyboard as well!

Dean did a great job. Got my PC back up and running for free with some diagnostic tools. I tried everything I could think of but couldnt fix it. If I ever have a problem, I am going back there. Very honest, friendly, and fast.

I had an issue with my screen of my laptop not working but I could hear the computer starting. I took it in once and as soon as they opened it worked. 2 weeks later I had the same issue but this time it wouldnt come back on. These guys are great. Everywhere else wanted to charge me between $50-70 just to diagnose it, then whatever parts and labor would be. They recognized it was nearly dead and wouldnt be able to be repaired so they quickly transferred my entire hard drive to a USB storage drive, the hard drive quit shortly after. I asked for the price and they were nice enough to do it just to help out, charge free! I purchased a new computer and from now on anytime I have any computer issues or anyone I know does, I will recommend going to PC Bits. Great people, great service!

Very honest and a pleasure to work with. My computer was shutting off on me and he blew it out with an air compressor and put a new rubber foot on it that was missing...I was in and out in about 2 minutes literally. Highly recommend.

Wish I had found Dean earlier! Dont waste your time trying Geek Squad (they wanted me to leave my computer for 5 days AND charged more!) I also wish Id never heard of the online tech support guys that work on 5+ clients at a time and may not know what theyre doing (both Geek Squad and ones based in Asia) and wasted days of my time. Dean is fast, friendly, offers lots of helpful advice and is extremely affordable.

Needed a replacement screen for laptop and Dean said he could get it . After two screens that look horrible (bleeding edges, dull color, clarity off) Dean says that Ill have to just deal with it because they dont make quality parts anymore. I called dell and dell said the whole top is replaced when replacing this type of screen. Dean doesnt know his stuff! The price for me to have Dell fix it is comparable to Deans. So talk to the manufacturer before you think about going to Dean! He basically said he buys junk!

100% Satisfied! When my Windows 8 hard drive failed, I thought my daughters first year of pictures and videos were lost forever. I went to Best Buy and they charged me over $500.00 to fix the problem! When I brought the laptop to PC Bits, Terry went out of his way to recover my data, even working over the 4th of July weekend! He charged my less than a quarter of the Geek Squad price! I am so happy I found PC Bits and I recommend everyone to get all their computer problems solved there!

I am a technical person and I have an Asus laptop that was running Windows 10. I must have had some strange update because I was getting a black screen and a permanent spinny wheel that says it was diagnosing my PC and my drives. It would not budge. Of course, I hadnt backed things up properly as I should have. I was sort of freaking out because I am writing a book and I didnt have my latest version saved on anything accept the hard drive (DUMB mistake 1). I called PC Bits in a major freak out mode and spoke with Eric. He said he would diagnose the issues for free and that he would give me my options. The next day I got a call with the diagnosis. Hard drive torched and need a new one as well as Windows 10 re-installed. My machine is a workhorse i-7 processor, major graphics card, RAM and actually still has CD/DVD drive. The cost for PC Bits was $250 and it was well worth it. I am still not positive on whether or not my old hard drive will be able to have the data pulled (this is a seperate process for PC Bits and Eric) but as I wait for the news on that, I am typing on my recently fixed Asus from PC Bits! I appreciated the honesty, the quick turn around, the fact that everything is running really smoothly and I now have specific instructions on how to make sure that I take care of my machine properly moving forward. I would HIGHLY recommend PC Bits over any of the big-box options. THANK YOU!UPDATE: 3/18/2019 - I truly cant thank PC Bits enough. My old hard drive was absolute toast and somehow one of Erics gurus was able to recover ALL of the documents / photos and most importantantly the book that I am writing off my crashed drive. The last save I had done on my book was 12,000 words and he was able to locate my unsaved version of 15,602. I thought it could be a lost cause, you have no idea how appreciative I am for them being able to do this.The Geek Squad would have charged me at least double what I paid with Eric and his team. For less than $300, my machine is back to lightening speed and totally recovered.If I could give them 10 stars I would!Trust me. Just go here when something is wrong. You will NOT be sorry!!

Amazing customer service. My PC wouldnt boot up i tried everything i knew, and i coulsnt figure it out. I called Microcenter who quoted me 9 days and 200+$ to fix my problem. I called PC bits, one day and 53$ later my problem was fixed. Very honest and treats his customers like a friend and not a paycheck. Needed new power plug. I was told it would take one week. Went to pickup after one week, it didnt work. Owner blamed it on a bad part from distributor and had to order another. Owner also stated he needed my password to tell if it was charging when there is a charging indicator light on keyboard. Waited another week & 1/2. Picked up to find top of laptop finish all scratched up. After looking around, it was obvious it was caused by owners non-protected hard top surface work bench.nothing of protective padding was in sight. Laptop looked brand new when dropped off, came home looking old. Owner evaded the issue and didnt own up to the damage. I was followed out the door by owners son when leaving. He said dont ever come back. Enough said.

Had my Toshiba laptop screen go white. Took it to the Big Box store with the Nerd Team where I had a service contract. First, left it there after signing to approve the repair. Received a call two hours later saying I had to go back and sign and pay for it to be sent out to be looked at, which would take 2-3 weeks. I took it away from the Nerds and found PC Bits. Dropped it off on a Monday evening and within two hours got a call saying it was all done! Picked it up the next day and paid less than half of what Big Box wanted just to look at it. These guys are the real deal and very easy to work with. My new go to computer servicer, for sure!

A little late in posting this but had a computer fry on me a couple of months ago and heard horror stories from other companies about the cost and liklihood of getting all of my data off of my hard drive. I discovered Dean over at PcBits and after speaking with him found him to be a computer wizard that not only freed up all of my data but gave me a terrific price. I spoke with him about doing other improvements to my newer computers and am continually amazed at how much he knows and the honest opinions he gives me. I rarely give recommendations for anything, but Pcbits deserves all of the business he can handle.
