Colt spent a great deal of time discussing what would be best for my particular situation. To go as in depth as he did knowing right from the get-go we would not be doing business today. I lost my home and everything in it during hurricane Harvey. I had 7 ft of water in my home for over 5 days. It is a total loss. The devastation of this is overwhelming and nothing like I have ever experienced before. My home is insured with CMI Insurance. It was recommended by CMI when I purchased this home, less than three years ago, that I should buy Flood Insurance. I have always listened to my agents and followed their advice. I bought the flood insurance. I received a phone call today from the National Flood Insurance program that they were funding me the full amount of my home and contents. I fell to my knees after the phone call, thanking God for his help and getting me and my daughter through this devastation. Then I thanked CMI Insurance for their advice, encouragement, prayers and all their help. They are amazing. I could not be happier with CMIs Candace and Colt. Absolutely great people that know their business extremely well. I was not thrilled when Candace told me my home did not qualify for Chubbs Masterpiece policy, she said dont worry Mark, AIG Private Client Group is just as good . She also recommended I add an Equipment Failure rider for $50 / yr with a $500 deductible. A little longer than a year later my 2 ton AC unit failed due to a leaking coil unit last Friday. I filed a claim with AIG late Friday afternoon, had my AC guy install a new unit on Saturday. Monday morning I submitted all the papers and pictures to my adjuster and she said they would be reviewed and it might take a couple days. Tuesday morning I received an email letting me know that a $2,200 check was on its way to reimburse for the cost minus my $500 deductible. It certainly is worth spending a little extra with top notch insurers and dont be afraid of paying for additional riders ... My 2 year investment of $100 for my rider just made me $2,100. Simple math for me.
