I contacted Certified based on a flyer we received in our mail after reading it was a locally owned company. My initial phone with call with Chris was a very pleasant experience. Chris was professional, courteous and created a very positive first impression. The technician, Alex, arrived promptly after I received a text message WITH his photo to alert me on his arrival. Alex was also very professional, courteous and helped solidify a great experience with Certified HVAC. Alex was very thorough in his diagnostic investigation. He explained all his findings (including photos for better clarification) and never pushed unnecessary repairs. I am very impressed and highly recommend this company!

Luis and Joshua were here today to install our new HVAC. They were incredibly courteous and professional, and did a phenomenal job. Absolutely every piece of equipment they removed was taken off-site, and youd never be able to tell any work happened based on how clean the work area is now.When setting up a quote with Certified, Stephen was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. When it came time for permitting, Brittany was an absolute pleasure to speak with and took her time in explaining what she was doing to both me, and my curious children.5 stars. 10 stars. So we needed a new furnace (30 years old) and new ducts since they were even older and had tears in them to go along with the asbestos. Our energy bills were insane and knew right away it had to be the furnace.So I brought in four companies to do a price comparison. First company was thorough with their review of the work but came in way too expensive. Second company came in and didnt look at anything and was in and out of my house in 5 minutes but came in at the lowest price. Third company came in and did a little better review of the work and came in mid range but their payment options were weaker than the others. Then Anthony from Certified came in and spent a couple hours here doing the most thorough look at the work - furnace, attic space where the ducts were as well as underneath the house in the crawlspace with the return ducts. He identified an issue with the return ducts that the other guys missed and he explained very clearly what needed to be replaced and fixed. He didnt come in at the lowest price but I went with them anyways since I felt he did the best job at assessing what was wrong and making sure he was very clear and descriptive of the process. They also price matched which was great. Also another great thing they did was the asbestos abatement is done by a separate company which the customer typically has to pay directly but Anthony was able to throw in the cost into their invoice which helped since we financed. They also had the best payment plan with 0% interest up to 60 months. In my opinion Anthony went above and beyond to work with us and get the deal done.As far as the installation process Brandon and Jose were the guys. First day they came in and replaced all the ducts and second day was the furnace and return duct repair. They were both friendly and professional and explained everything very clearly and they cleaned up everything after the job was done leaving no mess behind.For anybody needing HVAC work (or any work) ALWAYS make sure to get multiple quotes and make sure to include these guys. I couldnt be happier.

Brittany was the utmost professional technician that came to my home to inspect my 20 year old furnace. Brittany was patient and answered all of my questions very clearly and concisely. She also took photos of parts of the furnace and emailed them to me that made a significant difference of my understanding of what was going on what I might consider about my future repairs, replacement and maintenance. She also took the time in providing so much helpful information and options that I have as a homeowner. Fantastic technician and Kim was also excellent in customer service gave me great confidence and trust in Certified Heating & ACI felt as if the owner of the company came to my house and personally gave me a VIP inspection! Yvonne Gonzalez inspected my old furnace and did a great job taking it apart, cleaning the various components, explaining what she was doing, showing me items that were worn, teaching me about the innards of the system and putting it all back together again. She was very knowledgable and thorough. She presented options for repairing or replacing my furnace and did not pressure me to make a particular choice. I really appreciate the service I received from Yvonne and the other staff at Certified Solar, Heating, & Air Conditioning. I heartily recommend their furnace inspection services.

The company called and notified me it was time for my annual winter service. They are great and very accommodating to my needs and schedule. Brittany came out to the house again for the tuneup for my A/C system. This girl is fantastic. She is extremely knowledgeable, works fast and efficient. Explained everything she did and gave some recommendations. Cleans up after her work, I could not even tell she was there. I highly recommend Certified Htg & A/C, and Brittany especially. Brittany was able to squeeze in a service for us after fixing our neighbors A/C which had gone out at the same time. Everyone seems so packed busy, I hadnt even gotten a call back from other companies and my neighbor said others had quoted him a several week wait. She started with the least expensive/problematic issue, and unfortunately that was not our only issue. I appreciated her thoroughness and the fact that she was clearly trying to save us money with appropriate diagnosis. She was also not pushy at all when telling me about the service membership, and kind and friendly in general.

My AC compressor wouldnt turn on. Certified tech Brittany found the problem quickly. It was a sticky switch from not being used all Winter. After verifying it would work properly, she checked tor other potential issues within the unit. Fortunately, none were present. I appreciate her timely and pleasant visit and would recommend her to others.

We purchased a 12 year old house in Brentwood and this past year we had the very alarming situation that the pan underneath the condenser in the attic overfilled with water and started dripping down through the ceiling. At 2 AM it flooded our fire alarm in the ceiling and set off all the fire alarms in the house. It was over 100F everyday, AC was a must, I called solar heating and air, to their credit they did come out quite quickly. The technician could not for the life of her figure out what was wrong to cause the problem. She would do a few things and then leave our house and say “let me know if that works”. Never worked and water would come dripping down through the house again the next time the AC turned on. All along the way, the technicians are constantly trying to push you into either overly costly repairs or a brand new HVAC system. You get the feeling that their “maintenance” visits are nothing more than scouting runs to snap some pictures and tell you you need a new system. This technician informed me that the installers of our system must have installed it backwards and she quoted me several thousand dollars to flip it around and (maybe?) fix the leak. The temperature outside was over 100F every day and I could not leave the AC off for my family. So, after a lot of research that I didn’t have time for I bought a strong wet/dry vacuum from Home Depot, duct taped it to the exterior AC condensate drain line, and turned it on for half an hour. Problem solved completely. By myself.Now, when they came out they convinced me to purchase a bi-annual maintenance plan. Ok, sounds good. The first visit they ‘topped off’ the refrigerant, and told me the fact that it was low at all means we need a new AC unit most likely. It was a very small addition of refrigerant. Worked fine all summer long. Every time the refrigerant level is checked it is still fine, clearly no leak.Now winter time rolls around, our furnace is humming along just fine. I start getting reminder calls literally every single day that it’s time for the scheduled maintenance. I ignore them for a long time because of my growing mistrust of this company. Almost every day for weeks a new voicemail. It’s christmas break so I answer and schedule their maintenance. Guy comes out, spends a few minutes up in my attic. Comes down with, you guessed it, a bunch of pictures of my furnace. Tells me it’s short cycling and overheating. Tells me the capacitor has too much capacity (?). Says it’s a difficult access so he has to charge me extra if I want my condenser cleaned out. Nothing specific really, but says it’ll be about $900 to replace the capacitor and do the ‘difficult’ refresh. I say, if you say the capacitor is dead just replace that, the system has been working fine for us and Id rather save $ for the imminent system replacement y’all keep saying I’ll need. He goes back up, charges almost $300 for a new capacitor. Ok. Checks the AC, tells me it’s gonna die soon. Ok. Leaves the house. It’s very cold outside. Since the moment he left, my furnace cannot heat the house past 66F! I’ll set it at 90F, it can’t heat past 66F. My family is cold. My furnace has never once had trouble heating our house to whatever temperature I set. Now, they come out to do “maintenance”, tell me they should spend a grand on repairs, replace a capacitor, and now my heater can’t heat my home. That very same day. At this point, I could call them back out to figure out what’s wrong- but I do not any longer trust this company at all. It feels like they are only trying to push a new system or overpriced repairs on you whenever they get their hands on your system... and i don’t trust them anymore. I still have a pre-paid maintenance contract with them and will instead be finding another company to take a look at my furnace, preferably a small family run type of operation. And when I do have to buy a whole new system, likely in about 5 years, I would not even consider getting a quote from certified solar heating and air.

I feel very comfortable with her coming into home. Being a very private person she was very easy to trust.

This review is pending a resolution from Certified HVAC. Ill gladly edit it on resolution.Last year, we had a big problem with certain rooms in our house not heating or cooling appropriately, never quite heating or cooling as much as we wanted, with one room never heating or cooling at all. We had Certified come out, and they quoted us what they said would be a solution - replacing the ductwork in the house in its entirety, which was quite expensive. On completion, the result was certain rooms overheated - our kitchen scorches, other rooms freeze, thermostats that used to control certain zones no longer do. Furthermore, the new ducts rattle like there are ghosts in them.They came back in to fix this to tell us that, in fact, the balancing was off, but refrained from actually changing said balance. They came back again to say that, well, actually its the furnace, the furnace is too small, which...even if it was, it doesnt explain why the heat is so unbalanced. My wife mostly dealt with them, and theyve been nothing but condescending and unreliable.They have since basically gone dead on us, despite a 5-figure bill and, what Id argue, a totally useless job done. I feel defrauded, and I am so uncertain of their willingness to help that Ive retained legal counsel.

Not only was technician Lucas able to come out on a Saturday, he followed up with me promptly so we could get the unit repaired ASAP.. He diagnosed it correctly the first time with no hard sell for any “extras”. Very honest and customer oriented. Highly recommend!!

I woke up to an 85 degree house a couple weeks ago with the A/C system fan blowing warm air. My wife told me to do everything in my power to get it fixed since the next couple of days were going to be in the 100s. Everywhere I called was busy and didnt even seem to care that I was in dire need.I contacted Certified Heating and Air Conditioning further down my call list because of the amount of reviews they had at the time and was told that they were extremely busy as well but would be happy to help and that they would do what they could and call me back. In 5 mins they called back saying that someone would be there later that afternoon to help out.The service tech arrived later that day looking very professional and was really friendly. I explained everything that was going on and he had it diagnosed within 15 mins. When I asked how long it would take to get the repair part, he walked out to his work truck and walked back in with replacement part out of his work truck. He said these fail all the time and that they carry certain parts with them to help with efficient repairs for the customer. He had it installed and back up and running within 20 mins. I was blown away!When I asked about the small amount of reviews they had, he said that they were a new company and were just developing their relationships with their customers. I highly recommend this company to any one in the east bay or bay area. Great customer service, very knowledgeable, and perfect example of a professional.
