I came to Columbus, Ohio looking for a place but quickly I found it was a little different from NC. So I had to settle on the first place that was available at Heart and Home due to it was waiting lists for a lot of the places I wanted. Big mistake, I went to this unit and it was so dirty outside but the unit was clean inside. I later found out this was not such a great neighborhood. I didnt have a stove or refrigerator when I moved in and the office was very slow to get them to me. Most of the staff was pleasant when you enter the office but over the phone very unpleasant. I tried to stay my whole lease but soon found out I couldnt due to issues with the building. If you looking for a place please give yourself a month to check things and get on a waiting list. Trust me you wish you would had.
So im being kicked for not knowing with was on my home! And ofter to fix the the repairs and press charges against the one who were doing the problem! I also have pictures from when my swear backed up in to my basement, and the mold growing out of my celling!! Best believe the proper people will be notified!!

If I could give them a 0 star review I would. they suck so much they do not understand the concept of separate leases and tried serving us 2 eviction notices during the pandemic even though I was up to date on my rent and I had even paid off my rent for the remainder of the lease 4 months in advance! We had a backyard that they never cut the grass to until we went in and complained to them. I believe they try to take advantage of people that do not know their renters rights and should honestly not even be a business. They should be shut down. One of the worst in Columbus hands down.

They are very unprofessional and have not a clue how to deal with people. This place is only helpful if you know someone. If you are a friend you good. But if you donβt know anyone youβre going to get played . This place is very sad
I have lived under heart and home management since April 2019. I LOVE this rental. Kay (who is in the office) is awesome she is super nice, efficient, and always willing to help. Honestly when I first moved in there was one staff member That made me extremely skeptical because she was unprofessional, but Cheryl in upper management, stepped in! That shows attentiveness to details and I appreciate that, Lexy is also great, I needed answers today, and although she didnt know offhand, she didnt hang up until she had an answer for us. Maintenance also very nice people to work with.

I rent and apartment threw them on the north side of Columbus. They are VERY unprofessional! They do not respond or fix anything i always have to put my rent in escrow. Itβs lots of flooding, leaking roofs, maintenance people are from the streets. they are slum lords. The property manager never responds i always have to go into office to resolve issues.
I rented a property for them, never went to cut the yard . That was the least of my problems their rental had mice which I had to fix myself . Left their property cleaner there I received it on 8/2019 and still didnβt receive my deposit . They just giving me the turn around about they had sold the property so it was out of their hands . Do NoT Recommend.
Im hoping they can help their apartments get a little a little cleaner and get the maintenance man to start doing his job again

Ive never have had any bad issues with them or circumstances.. this is probably the nicest Place that Ive lived in. Matter of fact they worked closely with me during the pandemic and put together payment plans to help me get caught up on rent. The staff is always friendly with me and patient.. The house Im renting switched to this property management company right after I moved in. If I would have been dealing with heart and home from the start, I would have never moved in. I approach all people and situations being polite and respectful. Every single associate Ive spoken with has been extremely rude and immature. How are you going to make me feel like I did something wrong for following up on a mistake that your company made? They must be relatives of the owner because I cannot imagine any reputable company employing anybody that approached assisting tenants the way they do. They are unorganized and cannot even handle simple requests. I mean.. read the other reviews and that will tell you all you need to know about this ghetto company. If youre a prospective tenant thats not low income (I dont mean this to say that low income people deserve mistreatment and negligence, I mean that to say that they often dont have many options), I would avoid any properties they manage at all costs, I wish I would have.Update: the issue was eventually resolved and I spoke with someone that was extremely polite and nice. Not changing the star rating though, because my initial experience was shocking.
Buy far the worst place I ever try to rent from these people are a joke and only care about them selfs they are really no good we payed them 3 weeks ago and just keep playing with me and my family cant believe the dont care about us and my 1year old baby

They moved us into a rental that was infested with bed bugs for over 2 years. The customer service is horrible they hang up on you all the time its all reflective of their horrible manager Cheryl. Also never expect your deposit to come back within the 30 days they just dont care about The work that they do
Ive housed with them for 1 year only let me start off by the maintenance was very unprofessional. put two pieces of ply wood under my sink to fix a hole and cracked the mirror while doing so. I called them and told them about it they said they would take care of it and never did. I paid online payments somehow they lost my payment blamed me that I never paid after I repeatedly gave them proof the people on the phone repeatedly would hang up on me they called my bank told them I gave them fake statements gave me a 3 day eviction notice to leave. I had to go down to the office with a stack of proof to have me stress for them to find my money 3 weeks later. which cheryl kindly did I may add....they lost my payment. stressful place I ever lived at. not even the half of it. I hope someone else has better experiences but that was mine.

So after my incident this morning at 6:45 am, I have it on camera, about new roof and no notice. I called and they said notices were put on doors and they take pictures. LEXY told me she would check to see if pics were taken and call me back. After 7 hours, I call her back and she said they were put on wrong doors. There are only 4 doors to these units. How do you mess that up..... Lies !!!!!Do not rent from them !!!!!!!! All lies and will never respect your privacy !! WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH NOTICES. I suggested to just call us but Lexy said that would not be convenient for them. So they plan on the same old way of lying and saying they posted a notice on doors. There are only 4 of us here, sorry asking for 4 phones were too much for them. What a crock !!!!!!!
Homes are filled with mold and sewer issues that never get taken care of. I wouldnt recommend anyone to rent from them.
Cheryl is a amazing property manager if something happens she always sends out someone to fix it. Cheryl and her staff has always been good to me and my family. I have no complaints at all i have lived in my apartment for 2.5 years im my opinion if you need a property give Cheryl Morgan a call she is awsome and will help you find something for you and your family.
After working with for many years I had called in to get some info for a new tenant. After being put on hold multiple times and politely stating my questing to the receptionist I was told that it was not their problem and I promptly hung up on. It has been a long time since I have experienced such brazen disrespect. I was left stunned with their handling of my simple question. During a time when businesses are faced with uncertainty of the future you would think that common decency toward their clients would be of paramount importance.As a former hospitality manager I would not stand for such actions from my associates and it dumfounds me that they employ individuals of such poor character. My opinion of this operation is tarnished and it is embarrassing that I had held them in such high regards previously.Again, I am at a loss for the unparalleled disrespect that I have witnessed and do not feel my words here can even come close to describing the ineptitude of this individual. By being included in the species of homosapien along side her, I have lost some degree of respect for the human race in general.
Negligent owners I moved in February and the next day saw the kitchen window was broken so I told them which they said they would fix itβs now been 3 months and they have still not fixed the window or the basement bathroom which is full of peeling paint. Every time I call itβs the same B.S. we havenβt been able to find a company to fix the window. Iβm just about done here and will be filling a lawsuit, will update soon.
Our current lease with another company doesnt end until mid-March. Heart and Home Realty showed us a place on S. Ohio Ave. We were interested only if we didnt have to start paying rent at the beginning of February. They agreed so we filled out the application form and submitted $70 for application fees only to be told next day we would have to pay for all of February - and of course no refund for the application fee. Your mistake, my money.... Wont do business with them again.

We had been in contact over email for I had been recruited to the area from Cleveland. In my relocation process, Ms. Bridgette helped me with all my relocation and rehoming needs. She helped me find a home that fit my budget and I did not have to give up all the amenities I was used to. To go one step further, she met me and my family at the airport and personally escorted us to our new home. The process was fast and easy and I did not any problem during the process. Ms. Bridgette was so bright and cheerful and made us very happy. Please do contact her. You will be glad you did.
Worst property management Iβve ever had. There is black mold all over my bathroom and nothing ever gets done about it. And they continue to charge me a fee every month for a mistake they made on their ends with a billing error. When you call in, they talk over you and rush to get you off the phone. Extremely unapologetic and unhelpful. Iβve lived in my building 7 years and never had a single issue until they took over last year.
Management refuses to come in contact and respond to tenants who have literal raw sewage in their house and get displaced because of it! Abysmal company, choosing to lease from them will ensure your money is cared for but you will be left in the dust
Heart and homes just took my property over, without advanced notice of management changes/new ownership. Didnt reach us until the 2nd or 3rd of the month, and they threw us all onto the eviction list despite the old company being in contact with them and setting up a transfer of funds due to their negligence and are now pulling the same no answer bs regarding multiple complaints that make this place unlivable due to both safety and health issues. Once I find a lawyer for a class action lawsuit, Im going to edit this review again with the lawyers info.Edit 2: Today? I addressed it after I got the late notice telling me I was getting put on the list (Which I still have) and I called. I also addressed it two days later when I went in with a case worker relative to be a witness and the maintenance man even said he had already talked to me about it all on the phone in front of her, and we didnt get anything until after the majority of our rents due date. The majority of our due dates are on the 1st of the month. We didnt receive notice in our mailboxes until the 3rd, well after we had already sent our rent payments in to the former owners. You have until 4/14/2019 to deal with these issues before I get the state involved in an investigation into your companys practices. If you have not started addressing the security issues and the fact that I cant even shower thanks to the lack of warm/hot water. If you hold up your end of the lease, I am a very good, respectful tenant. Refuse to hold up your end, and face litigation as well as the wrath of the VA.

They allow their residents homes to be filled with raw sewage and demand that they be nice when the residents bring it up. They dont respond to emails, calls, or in-person visits to improve situations of home safety, their residents health, and break city code in refusing to fix their homes. It is disgraceful the way that they speak to and handle the needs of their residents.
Current tenate....Never would I recommend anyone to live with them. They dont do their maintenance in a timely manner. They allow their office team to be disrespectful to tenants. I have had several incidents dealing with them with rodents. 1 more month in my lease to rid myself of this hell hole situation. Please find somewhere else to live unless you want to deal with their unprofessional staff.

I am considering moving to Columbus and after hearing the experience of another renter, I am certain that I will not be seeking their services nor renting from them. I am not confident that when I choose to move they will be able to provide me with adequate housing. Should something go wrong with my housing situation, it is clear that their top priority is meeting their bottom line at the expense of their tenants. There appears to be little regard for the safety and health of the people who, even after communicating to management how unsafe, hazardous, and even toxic their living situation had become, are still living in these conditions and with seemingly no resolution in sight.I cant imagine the feeling of hopelessness to know that your home and property have been destroyed, by no fault of your own and to then come to the realization that the company you are paying to, at the very least, maintain a level of inhabitability, has little sense of urgency to get the problem resolved.Furthermore, the respectability politics that a nonbinary person of color has to navigate in order to have their problems addressed is outrageous. This tenant was told multiple times to clam down, to speak nicely, to be patient phrases that would never be considered when speaking to a white, cishet male.I hope that this problem gets resolved quickly and with the care that it deserves.From the tenant of Heart and Home Property Management:Recently, my next door neighbor and I have been experiencing sewage flooding our laundry rooms. I had to badger them multiple times over the course of the day after the first flood to have someone clean up the contaminated area. After neglecting to reach out to a cleaning service all day, they sent someone at the last minute who: 1) had no cleaning supplies or protective equipment (i.e. gloves, mask) of their own 2) handled the raw sewage with their bare hands and 3) poured raw sewage down my kitchen sink.Two days after this, my entire kitchen, living room, AND hall closet flooded with sewage water, incurring hundreds of dollars of damage to my personal items. With their usual lack of urgency, the property management company let the bacteria-laden water sit for a day and a half. They βhiredβ a cleaning company to come out and they didnβt show up when they were supposed to on Tuesday (2/12/2019). Cheryl Morgan, owner/property manager at Heart and Home, said she would send me pictures by the end of yesterday afternoon as verifiable proof that they ended up coming by. I have still yet to receive those pictures, leading me to believe that she still hasnβt found a proper professional cleaning company.Furthermore, in speaking with the damage expert from my insurance company, he let me know that all porous flooring materials β like the linoleum and wooden baseboards in my kitchen -- should have been ripped out and trashed immediately because of how quickly they absorb contaminated water. My kitchen flooring remains untouched to this day after a week has passed by.When speaking with Cheryl Bruce (Cheryl Morgan or Cheryl Dawn) in person yesterday after she dodged my emails, calls, and texts all day, she said it would be best for me to move out due to the structural repairs that must be done, yet in the same breath refused to provide me with further housing accommodations in the interim. Itβs her responsibility to ensure her tenants have a place to stay, especially when her faulty unit and lackadaisical attitude are the cause for all my recent problems. EDIT: She offered me to move to a different property of theirs but refused to answer any of my questions about the property in writing, after i asked her my questions MULTIPLE times over the day. I cannot move to a new place of theirs on faith that it will be any better, nor can i move from one apartment to the next immediately! she should be offering safe and clean accommodations during this transitional period, but instead she just stonewalled me with βi donβt have authorization to get you a hotel room.β thatβs all i got.
Will never be okay with a property manager who cant manage property at least to the point of livability. Incompetence in this field can mean life or death. Would not recommend to anyone.
Neglects tenants who are living in legally unlivable properties due to circumstances that the tenant could not have prevented. Saying this was simply incompetence would be flattery, this is discriminatory behavior and negligence on their behalf.
