Quick to respond after emailing them pictures of my projects needing fixed. Overall great work, will call back!
Used Columbus Handyman for a fence and steps job, at 1st there was some minor things I needed changed. When I called the owner (John) he personally got involved. He sent over a different guy, (Scott) who was promptly here, he did a fantastic job fixing what I required and was very professional in his work. I would definately use them again and depending on type of work, fence, deck, windows, etc. I would request Scott. Hell do a great job for you.Brian
Hired them for an electrical issue. Greg was great! Got the problem fixed and was efficient and responsive. Will have them out for other projects too.
This review is for Greg from Columbus Handyman, whom I hired to replace a light fixture in my bathroom with a combo light/fan in my circa 1940s house. Working on older homes can be a challenge, and I was a little nervous about the project before starting, but Greg did a great job. I wanted to pick out my own fan/light, so he gave me precise specs to use when selecting one. He showed up on time and went the extra mile (and hours) to make sure that things were done right. He even followed up extremely quickly when I had a question after the installation was finished (something very minor that was just an issue with my bulb selection). I was very pleased with my experience and would feel comfortable hiring him again as its clear that a lot of attention to detail was given to doing the job right.
We have used Columbus Handyman in the past for many smaller projects and were always pleased. We recently had our windows and doors replaced. From start to finish they did a great job. They gave us multiple options to choose from in order to meet our budget. They were able to complete the project much faster than other companies we spoke to. Mike, the installer did a fantastic job. We would definitely recommend this company for both small and larger projects.
We had Greg come out today to install some new outdoor lights for us and fix an inside electric problem. Greg was on time, very professional and very personable. If we need anymore electrical work in the future, we will be asking for Greg.
I had someone come out on 4/7 to give an estimate and was told it would be emailed to me. I called to follow up on 4/15 (left message because no one ever actually answers the phone there apparently). No one called back. Called again today and 4 hours later still no callback. Im not sure I even want to give them my business if they do finally follow through on an estimate. Poor customer service.
We were ultimately happy with the work completed by Columbus handyman, but did have some scheduling issues along the way. They rescheduled the work three times, and most of the time we had advanced notice, but one time was the day of (although the owner himself called to apologise, which I was impressed by and greatly appreciated). Once Jason came out to complete the electrical work (rewiring a bathroom fan and three way switch), he was courteous, professional, and completed the work more quickly than expected. I was very pleased with the final result, and would use Columbus handyman again.
Happy to SING the praises of Columbus Handyman! We are first-time homeowners and wanted to do a little kitchen re-fresh. New countertops, backsplash, sink/faucet, dishwasher, light fixtures. Columbus Handyman gave us a great quote in comparison to the others we got and after reading reviews I felt good about hiring them -- but obviously being new to this arena had no idea what to fully expect. But my gosh I just need to say how WONDERFUL Mike and Grant were to work with. Grant coordinated the project and responded to my many emails so kindly. And Mike did the actual work and he was *fantastic.* Not only a highly skilled handyman (his tile work is beautiful) -- but also a wonderful human. He was so sweet, considerate and accommodating throughout the week-long job. I am so grateful for him! One morning he literally scrapped the ice and snow off my windshield when he saw me sitting in my car warming it up (dont know where my scraper went...) Talk about above and beyond. (Our dog even *loved* him haha!!) Thank you Mike, Grant and the Columbus Handyman crew - we are in love with our new kitchen! I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
We recently had Columbus Handyman replace toilets, install flooring and replace our shower walls as well as putting up new shutters. All of the work was completed timely and the quality of the work was excellent. All of the workers were polite, competent and observed COVID-19 safety protocols. Would definitely recommend them.
Mike, clueless. Called several people for help. I helped find solution. Nice guy though.
I live in a college apartment and wanted my tv mounted, I thought this meant into the studs of the wall. The handyman came punched two huge holes in the wall that I will have to pay for when I leave. He was working so fast I had to tell him the mount was upside down the first time. I called Sean, the owner, who was so inconsiderate and quite frankly rude. Someone one on the other side of the line told me to leave the mount on the wall when I move out. This interaction was extremely unprofessional. They also tried to charge me $225 for the 15 minutes they were here. I wouldn’t think of using them ever again.
We have relied on Columbus Handyman for a variety of home projects, including installing handrails, mounting cabinets, and repairing drywall ceiling. We have had nothing but positive experiences. Everyone we have interacted with has been professional and courteous, and the work has been consistently outstanding. Columbus Handyman will definitely be our go-to for future projects.
Im a contractor with 20 years experience in all aspects of home construction. I called Columbus handyman to ask if they could install 2 pieces of crown molding (just make 4 cuts total). For someone who knows what theyre doing and does it regularly this is a 30 min job tops from start to finish. I explained the job to them and they said it would be about a 2 hour job. So while I cant give a review of their work, this is just to make people aware that it might be best to get multiple quotes from reputable contractors before getting ripped off by these guys. I hate to have to do this, but I hate more than anything to see people being treated unfairly just because they dont know any better.
First I had an appointment for Someone from CHM come out and quote installation of an exterior door and screen door. The morning someone was suppose to come out, John called and indicated the person had an emergency. We discussed the work and John gave me a verbal cost. I liked the cost and asked about some interior door installation. He asked me to send pics which I did, price came in higher than I expected. When I asked him to just do the exterior doors, he said he couldnt do the work for the price we discussed. I know its a tough business, but if you cant live up to what you say, come out and look at the job. One of the most important things I say about contractors is the feeling of trust. Moving on.
Had Scott from the Columbus handyman out to repair a leaning fence with three broken fenceposts. He gave a good fair estimate and did great work! Highly recommend him and the company. Thanks again.
I am a school principal and I needed a bathroom stall fixed. I didnt know who to turn to! The crew that was assigned to us came in, gave a quick quote. They were back within the week. They worked efficiently and did quality work. They stayed within the quote. I would reach out again.
The Electrician, Tom, just left my home and he corrected and repaired my outlet/wiring issue quickly and professionally. He knew exactly what to do and Im sure that saved me extra expense. Columbus Handyman is fortunate to have Tom on their team.
I had this company out to my house today to do some electrical work. Was very happy with their work. He did an excellent job and cleaned up after himself, too. Would definitely recommend and use again.
I have used Columbus Handyman for two different projects, one interior and one exterior. Both were completed with professionalism and I am completely satisfied with the results. I will definitely use them again.
Fast, friendly and capable service. We thought we would be repairing a ceiling fan but that proved impossible and the handyman and I managed to improvise to turn the job into replacing the fan as I ran out to purchase a new one while he took out the old one so he was ready to install the new one as soon as I got back with it. This way we got the problem solved and still kept to both of our scheduled. Im putting this service into my go-to-list.
We have used columbus handyman twice now and they provide great service and fair prices. Highly recommended!
As I called on a weekend, I recey a prompt call back to schedule an appointment. The gentlemen arrived as promised. They were polite, knowledgeable, and rather quick. The price for all that we had completed could not be beat. We are already planning on using them again for an upcoming project. Highly recommend!
Great people...”Sonya i need you!”😂 (i always call with that “open liner.”) I have only good words and good experiences.
I read the reviews and figured we would have a great experience but scheduled for an estimate on the 15th and no call no show- rescheduled for today and again no call no show.
Ok, so let me start by saying the rating is based on customer service, not work. I have hired this company a few times over the years, and the work, for the most part, has been good. (Electrical box issue, minor repairs before selling a home, minor home repairs in current home). But, this most recent experience was frustrating and, it seems, in line with the experience of some others. Arranged for someone to come do a task at my home, and that turned into three small tasks based on the total time needed to do them being under the hour that is the minimum charge. While working on the third task, the Handyman accidentally broke a part of my vertical blinds. (Accidents happen - I get that). He stated he would get replacement parts and return to fix it. A week later - still no word. I emailed the company, and the following day the guy showed up unannounced at my house with the parts (not exact replacements - a different color that hopefully will still work), left them on the porch, and then called to tell me he had been there. (He says he knocked, security cam doesnt show that, either way, I wasnt there because he never called to tell me he was coming.). Because of a disability, I cant climb a latter to fix the part myself, so I called to ask for him to come install the part. Office staff was friendly and scheduled a window of time for this morning. I schedule my day around that window so I can be available the whole period of time scheduled. He doesnt show and no call. I call the office to be told he had something happen and would be there shortly. However, I had a conflict with the time he might arrive and asked for a new window of time. I was sent on to the owner who only finally apologized by saying the office staff scheduled the appointment too early in the morning. (WHAT?). They wanted me to be available for the guy to come by at some indetermined point in the day. When I explained I had other appointments scheduled around the time, I was told they couldnt give me an exact time. Apparently, they dont have to be available to me at ay time, but I, the paying customer, have to be at their beck and call? Double standard. (And this expectation was implied both with regard to waiting for him to show up today and to try to justify the guy just leaving the parts on my porch last week.). Owner was going to call me back and did so at a time that I told him I was unavailable. I returned his call and left a message. 8 hours later, I still have not heard back. Bottom line - the company is unreliable. They seem to think customers time is less valuable than theirs and that appointment windows are just vague guidelines they can choose to follow or not. For that reason, I will no longer use them.
The (Handyman) showed up and took a hour to put together a ceiling fan. During this time he had to go to ace to get wire and clips. (I guess handymen dont bring items needed to the job). So after he gets back he put together the rest of the fan and leaves. Before he does he tells me I need another part so its still wasnt hanging. Then he charges me for the items he bought and takes these with him.I call the company and am told he was getting fired for poor work. (Why did you send him out then)I was going to give 3 stars, but after reading my review. Im giving 1 star. You might want to do stand up, your company is a joke.
John did a great job replacing the exterior trim around one of my windows. He was friendly, efficient and thorough. The work was professionally done and no mess was left behind. I would recommend Columbus Handyman and will hire them in the future.
Great company and great work performed at a great price! Tom was prompt and very friendly. Highly recommend any one looking for a handyman, give this company a call.
Columbus Handyman did the majority of our renovation and it turned out wonderfully. We received all new floors, a custom trap door (quite a challenging request), all new cabinets with pulls, counters, and countless other odds and ends. This was all done for a very reasonable price.Mike was our dedicated guy who we were fortunate enough to have getting things done. He knows his stuff and does QUALITY work! On top of that, hes a super nice and trustworthy guy (left him with my dog day after day and they became great friends). We definitely plan to use Columbus Handyman again for our next stage of reno projects. Go with Columbus Handyman and ask for Mike!
We have used Columbus Handyman for NUMEROUS projects including plumbing, fixing furniture, installing fans, installing new doors, painting, new windows, fence repair. We just completed 17 new windows and a new back door. We saved thousands from what other windows places wanted to charge and the windows are the same! I researched this for months. Plus, Mike and Bob were on time, worked quickly and did a fabulous job right down to the last details and clean up.Can’t recommend this company enough.
Another contractor that wasted my time. I had a lot of things I wanted to contract out to a handyman and these guys were the first to come out and take a look. I told them the scope of the project over the phone to make sure they could handle a larger project. They sent out an estimator and never gave me a quote back even after calling them several times over the course of a week. Im not sure why contractors cant be upfront and say theyre not interested in a larger project when they can take a bunch of smaller easier ones. Id be fine with that, Im not fine with people wasting my time and not being up-front.
Columbus Handyman provided our family with quality work and was available within a 24 hour period. As a family with young children, he was able to come in and complete our plumbing problem quickly, efficiently and at a low cost. I will definitely use Columbus Handyman in the future and would recommend them to family and friends. They are an honest company that does high quality work.
Did great work with the roof soffit. Only complaint was having to frequently call to schedule.
They just finished installing our master bath. Mike was fantastic and very professional. Always on time and work was completed in timely fashion. He ran into two issues but was able to adapt and push thru to completion despite the challenges . We will use for our next project!
Excellent choice for all types of jobs in your home. I’ve been using C.H. For 15 years!
Antoine gave us a beautiful tile bathroom floor and I highly recommend his work. He was very professional and extremely skilled! We have used Columbus Handyman several times and have not been disappointed!
We have used Columbus Handyman for many different types of jobs. They alwaydo a great job!!
Derek was prompt, efficient and did a terrific job . Will definitely call again.
Trent came to my house today as scheduled and on time. He was very courteous and polite. He was very good to my dog!😊Her completed his work in a timely manner and definitely did excellent work! I strongly recommend Trent from Columbus Handyman and will be using them for more work in the future!😊
Had an appointment scheduled between 9-11. No call no show. I call at 11:30 and leave a message. Finally get a call back 2 hours later at 1:30 saying they cant come today and need to reschedule. The receptionist was apologetic. I understand projects can run over or behind but its ridiculous to not call me till 2 hours after I called, and 2.5 hours after the scheduled time I had. I lost over half my day and they could have called much earlier.
Bill W. was assigned to my job of installing two pantries and a kitchen island. He was very friendly and respectful and did an amazing job in a timely manner (under 3 hours). This man could build an entire house from the ground up -- very knowledgeable on just about everything and gave all sorts of advice on other current and future projects Im planning. Id 100% recommend asking for him since they have a few handymen available!
I used CHM in May 2017 to install 2 cabinets on the wall in my office which required building out a 4 frame from the wall. Should have been a fairly simple job for a company that does these kind of things for a living.Paid $600 and had a $200 off coupon for 6hr of work, so paid $400 for being a 1st time customer. Fairly expensive in my opinion, most handymen Ive used in the past are about $50-60hr, but I thought based on the reviews it would be worth it.Anyway, I was there to assist to make the job go more smooth (make cuts etc). Cabinets were already put together so they just needed mounting and trim put on. After about 4hrs, only 1 cabinet was hung and while he was at lunch I managed to build the box by myself for the 2nd one. And when 6hrs was up, cabinets werent finished and he was ready to go, but not before attempting to cut my crown molding which he botched.Because I was unhappy that the project didnt get completed I contacted the company to get some money back, I asked for $175 and to replace the crown molding because thats about what I felt the amount of work he actually did. They did refund me $175 and attempted to replace the crown molding but failed to find a replacement even though I told them where I got it. So I said I would order it and for them to refund me for my purchase. It was $134.80 for the crown molding. After many attempts to collect they stopped taking my call. So in the end I ended up paying $360 for 3/5 of a job completed when 6hr should have easily been enough to complete the whole job to someone skilled in carpentry/handyman work. I would not use them again based on this experience.
I woke up to no hot water yesterday morning and called Columbus handyman. Sent pictures of the gas hot water tank and the plumber was here within a few hours, he bought the new tank at Beechwold Hardware, replaced the tank, and took the old one out. He did this all very quickly and I had hot water within 45 minutes after he left. Excellent work.
Excellent work, on time, very professional. They reinforced our 2 story deck and replaced the stairs. I could not be more pleased!
Little expensive but they have never disappointed me.. Bun is the guy you need to ask for quick plumbing needs...
Emailed me offering $25 off if I left a 5 star review. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Had multiple plumbing repairs needed. Called a plumbing company to schedule an appt. They gave me a 6 hour window on when to expect the tech. Didnt want to waste a day so on a whim called Columbus Handyman. I had used them on electrical and carpentry jobs in past and they had done a great job. Didnt know they did plumbing. They gave me a time when the plumber was to arrive and he showed 10 minutes early. Once he got here I explained the problems and found that he could do much more than I anticipated so we rescheduled him to come back the next day with the parts and time to complete all the plumbing repairs .He showed up again early and did not waste anytime in completing the projects. He even came in under quoted price. This plumber has experience, works fast, knows what he is doing and is friendly. Highly recommend him and Columbus Handyman.
Scam!!!!! Called for plumbing work. Agreed to the plumbing work. They took money from me deposit. Never showed up to do work. Called to get money back.Did not want to give money back after not doing absolutely nothing. Had to call cc company to get money back. And the receptionist Sonya act like she didnt know what to do. I have told all my landlord and real estate colleagues to not do business with this shady company.
They came right out and gave us a quote and now will be doing the job within 2 weeks.
Was just wondering what services they offered. Did work with the company.
With the professionalism, courtesy and excellent work they all provided. We will definitely be using Columbus Handyman for future projects.
Unfortunately, after I scheduled a work from home day so that I could meet the technician for an estimate, which was nearly 3 weeks after the appointment was scheduled, i received a phone call from the company 15 min after the appointment was to commence that the tech would not be coming because I’m outside if the range. Very very poor service. They couldn’t figure that out in advance?
This company is excellent for their commitment to technology, and the desire to constantly improve for their customers! Great to work with, ALL good people!
They did a great job!
I use Columbus Handyman for all my home projects, both large and small, and I have never been disappointed.
Great experience! Plumber was fast and efficient!
I cannot recommend. Their handyman did not seem very confident and the part they ordered too a signifixant amount of time to be delivered and when it did come it was not the correct size.
Great Experience, Great Service. Work done on vents and a window repair.
Extremely rude when answering and talking on the phone
Came back today to adjust a dishwasher they installed 6 months ago. They stand by their work!
We do great work
We do Great work
