Open Post Covid Review:Since the Palace opened back up post Covid, I really like what they have done. Each section is separated with a glass partition and tables in that lanes section is roped off. Makes it all feel very VIPish. The only thing that would make it really VIP is if the ropes were velvet. After when you are done bowling, you leave your shoes and bowling balls in the lane. That way they can pick it up an clean it.I enjoyed the bowling experience and would definitely go back! The Palace has always been the best place to bowl!
A great place for a good time. They do a great job enforcing social distancing and the wearing of masks. The pizza is worth a regular carryout order! Its delicious.
This place was a ton of fun! Had been years since any of us had been bowling and even though I slipped and slid halfway down the lane, it was still tons of fun! I had more fun and made a bigger fool of myself than Ive done in years if ever. Staff was helpful, lanes were slick and smooth, and the polisher of the balls had a gentle touch and smooth finish on the balls!
This is one of the most classiest and nicest bowling alley. Their chairs and tables are very nice. They have good prices. They also have a nice selection of food and a nice area dedicated to it. They also had a bar in another section. There was a arcade too. We stayed there for about 3 hours since there was so much to do. I recommend it for big familys.
Very impressed with the safety and social distancing procedures in place due to covid! Entrances/exits are all one way, and everything is roped off in one way walkways to your designated lane to keep high traffic areas safe. Granted, we were the only ones in the alley during our time today (9:30am), had it of been busier, we would of felt very safe. They are running at half capacity with lanes. It was very cool, temperature wise, and we didnt feel stuffy at all wearing our masks (I had a 6 and 9 year old with me). All bowling balls are sanitized and given to you via an employee from behind a contained area. Once youre finished bowling, you leave your shoes/balls at your lane and they take care of sanitizing them for you. Again, very impressed with safety procedures and definitely will return again!
Felt awesome to get out and bowl. Clean place. Staff was nice. Nice spot to bring your children.
Good, large bowling center. Their $11/3 hours weekday deal can be a great deal for a small and ambitious group. The pizza and subs place was surprisingly slow on Black Friday: my son and I bowled a game and a half before our order of a hot sub came out. But in over 9 games each the equipment worked fine, with only a couple of pins miss-scored.
The best bowling spot in Columbus hands down. The food is great and they have excellent customer service. Good job guys, keep up the good work
This place is a joke.Ok so I understand new changes of service due to covid 19 and I have been following them. I abide by the rules with social distancing, wearing my mask, etc but the employees are not. It is posted masks required, and No mask no service is posted as well. Several employees had a mask but it was pulled down to their chin. The employees were not staying 6 feet apart. There are one way paths and no one was abiding by that either. Even several other customers not trying to stay 6 feet. I know that we are all tired of wearing masks etc but they have terrible work ethic. I have to follow the guidelines at my job and I do but it seems these people dont really care
Kids had a great time. Think the could clean the house balls a little better turned my daughters white nails grey. But stay was very nice.
Great customer service but it’s pretty obvious they don’t take COVID-19 seriously. They’ve closed down half the lanes, so everyone is forced to be in close quarters with everyone else. Social distancing was impossible and masks aren’t required when at the lane so the only thing protecting everyone was a few pieces of plexiglass place between each lane. I used to love this place but I will not be back.
Really friendly employees, clean facility. Fun all around for all ages
They are keeping covid safety policy very well! I could enjoy bowling time without worries.
For the price, GREAT deal! Open 24 hours as well which serves as a huge bonus. For a Friday night, it cost my group of 4 under $40 for shoe rental and bowling for an hour ($6 an hour and $3 shoe rental per person). We were able to get in right away since there are so many lanes here, 64!! However, not in the nicest location. I did not experience any troubles, but knowing the area have heard of all kinds of incidences happening. No issues with cleanliness or disorganization. Love that there is a local 24hr bowling alley. The food wasnt too bad either!
Ask to me moved from a lane because of poor conditions(slope in lane) and John(employee) rudely talked down to me and refused to move us lanes. Will not be coming back. Would not recommend this bowling alley to anyone. The staff needs to appreciate customers while they still have them.
Grew up in Columbus. Hadnt been back for about 25 years. Looked for bowling alley that was not around anymore. Ended up here and glad I did. Staff was vey friendly. Never being there before I could have been charged more. The gentleman behind counter explained the specials and suggested what would be the cheapest. Great lanes. Well kept. Wish bowling was as popular down south. Not much competition so it depends on proprietors on whether it stays in good condition. Will come again the next time Im in Columbus. Great job guys.
It was our 1st time here today. Took our nephew and granddaughters, they were the only bowling alley that had open lanes. A friend of mine and her granddaughter joined us too! We did have some issues with the lanes they put us on so in the middle of our game we had to move. It was something different and we all had a fun time together ☺ 🎳
We enjoy this place and it is pretty close to where we live. The guys are usually nice but tonight there was a lady with short red hair and she was so rude. It is a busy Sunday night for them and when we came to the counter she was chatting with friends till I said can you help us because the guy was on the phone. Our lane was not cleaned so I went back up to ask them to clear it. She responded rudely telling me shes in the middle of something . We wont be back here because of her. Its no tworth it dealing with rude people
Great place. Nice, clean facility with a great coach (Ron Hatfield) available. Snack bar was excellent as well. Had an Italian sub that beats any sandwich chain in the area. Nice lounge as well.
Nice bowling alley. I was there to watch my nephew bowl in the state tournament. My only complaint was that there was over 1,000 patrons, but just 2 people working in the restaurant. Those kids could not keep up with the crowd.
Great place they have really taken big steps with covid to keep customers safe
Went for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Event. It was fantastic! They do a great job of organizing the event and this was a great place to have it.
Nice bowling alley. They have a lot of different specials throughout the week. Will definitely be returning in the future!
Sweet place. Open 24/7 with tons of lanes. They run awesome specials on different days. Like Tuesday is two dollar Tuesday. Everything is two dollars. Two dollars per game. Two dollar shoe rental and two dollar pizza I believe. Wednesday you can rent a lane for 20 dollars for 2 hrs as much bowling as you want. They also have the standard other stuff there like arcade games and beer and food. Its standard but they have great prices. Better than any other place Ive been to in Columbus.
I love bowling here. The bars a little pricey.
Love this place when i go bowling i always come here an their Thursday special is awesome! Always clean an drinks are always great.
Pretty average experience. Not a bad thing by any means. Not bad. Not amazing. It was a serviceable alley with a decent price. The house balls were a bit jacked up though... As in very in some cases. But with a place this big, youre going to get a handful of those.
Great place for bowling! The entire place is clean, and they have a top-notch snack area with great food. We bowl for fun, in leagues, and have church bowling parties there. Always great staff.
Been going here since I was a little kid. Place has definitely gone down hill. Food is way too expensive. No free refills? Are you kidding me? Especially when I can go to Sawmill and spend the same, unlimited refills. My meal was burnt and the guy literally left it sitting there for over 10 mins. For what I got, it wasnt worth no 12 something. The two guys back there in the diner didnt seem to care at all to serve my friends and I. I love bowling there, but make some upgrades and changes to your menu and just MAYBE I will come back. Otherwise, Im staying at Sawmill, where the refills are unlimited, and the food tastes so much better.
Great place to have fun and reconnect with family.
Ive been going to the Palace weekly for the last year and a half as a weekend co-worker get together. This past weekend, we had a large group of 18 for a going away party for some coworkers. We spent around $500 between games, food and drinks for everyone that night. Around 1:15am, we had our lane shut down and were told to quiet down or else we would be kicked out. We were having fun and laughing, and would cheer when one of our group bowled a strike. It was a Friday night, and we were having fun. We were not interfering with any other patrons games, or hurting ourselves or equipment. We will likely be taking our outings to Gahanna Lanes from now on.
Im surprised it was clean for the size of the place. Friendly employees and a nice atmosphere. My family enjoyed it
No thrills bowling, a little pricey for what they offer in my opinion. All of their balls have cracks and chunks out of them. They do not have the interactive machines or good food like Sequoia Pro Bowling does. If you are trying to pick between the two go to Sequoia, or make sure to bring your own ball to Columbus Square.
Fun place to bowl in WCOL league. Seating leaves a bit to be desired. Same tables and chairs from 10+ years ago. Needs upgraded badly.
Open 24 hours a day. Staff is friendly! 64 lanes so no waiting around for leagues to finish.Very comfortable seating area with space to move around. Dave and Greg at the Pro Shop are outstanding and knowledgeable.Blue Sky Lounge has a great atmosphere and bartenders are great.Oh did I mention they are open 24 hours a day?Come get your bowl on!!
Finally, clean bathrooms. That was a huge plus for me. We had hours of fun here. The bar is a great addition and made our party even better. Yes, it is open 24/7. It was filled to the brim when we went, but so a great feeling. The music was very good and not dated.
Lots of lanes. Plenty of space for your group. The staff was very helpful, and they actually had shoes that fit me. Another issue that I have is finding a ball that fits my fingers, bit not here. I found three in quick succession.
Tons of lanes, this place will get the job done. Especially if its the weekend, the bars close, and you still want to be out with your friends at 3am - take an uber here, and *try* to bowl. Decent enough food and beer selection. Little pricey to bowl. But again, for being open 24/7, this place is awesome.
Good place to host a large group, or kids bday party. Facility is clean, and staff is kind. Pricing is very fair.
Fresh lanes and cold beers for the win
I love Columbus Square Bowling Palace. Theyre open 24 hours which is totally awesome. The food is decent. They do have a bar. The staff is also friendly which is definitely a plus. I would suggest this place for a party or group or a date or even alone. The lanes are never too dry or too oily. Oh, and they have a excellent really early weekender deal!
Here for the men’s state tournament. Great place! Excellent prices on food and beverages. Staff is also awesome! Donna (bar), Shannon (bar), and Anthony (front desk) are notable employees as they were very helpful, caring and polite.I don’t live here but would totally recommend this place to others.Awesome job guys.
Fun time. Would be nice if there were table service. Clean and safe feeling. Nice music. Nice staff
The people at the desk are always quick to resolve problems. Very nice and helpful. The cafe food is good and there is a bar. This is the best bowling alley!!
Such a good time with friends and family. And who knows you may run into someone famous. We did!
It was my first time there and it was impossible to slide. The approach was very sticky. Everything else was very nice. It was just impossible to slide (with rental shoes). I even tried a second pair and there was no change.
Enjoyed celebrating the end of my and the beginning of my nephews birthdays, we had a great time
The Palace is in need of an overhaul for sure. Now i know its a bowling alley but this was the place to go when i was younger. Renovate this place and make it presentable. The ceiling tiles look like they have been up there since smoking allowed inside businesses. I expect better from here.
This place will forever be the hangout spot for my work crew as well as the family. The lanes are well kept and the music is diverse enough to tough everyone’s tastes. There is good food and a nice bar area to enjoy a drink after a long work day. Top it off with a little competition in the arcade and you have yourself and amazing night any time of day since they’re 24 hours.
There are tons of lanes and we always have fun at the palace. The staff is helpful, and the weekday deal is a great deal if you want to have some fun for a reasonable price. The bar has decent selections as well for reasonable prices.
Very big and nice but it dont have changing tables in the ladies room to change a baby
My friends and I come here every Thursday night and we love it. The deals and bowling specials are fantastic, the food is good (maybe a little overpriced but what do you expect from a bowling alley) and the guys running the register for the bowling area and the restaurant are usually pretty cool. The only thing that is frustrating is the lanes are constantly breaking. Sometimes the guards do t raise back up or it keeps your ball or it even re racks your whole lane even after your first bowl no matter how many you knock down. If there was like a full maintenance check/update on all the lanes, that would be superb but even so, we still love coming here and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon
Great place to hold Bowl for Kids Sake - Big. Brothers Big Sisters event
Incredibly slow bar service. Poorly maintained and dated. Premises doesnt match the price.
When in Columbus Ohio and you are a bowler or you and your family/friends and looking for a fun night out... take you talent to the palace.
Large, well ran and well maintained facility!
Great atmosphere. I just wish there music was better. Went a Saturday night, it was about 9$ for shoes and a game... They dont have hour plays:( . But not to bad for a game I guess.
64 lanes and a super large concourse, so the center is large. Being open 24 hours a day makes the bowling center unique. The one hit is that the prices for lane time is the most expensive I have seen.
Friendly staff. Pretty clean establishment. Great bowling deals. I only took a star off because the food wasnt good. Eat before you go!
The Palace has wonderful service, great food, and a management team that truly cares about keeping this place clean and safe. It is my favorite bowling center in Ohio because of all of the space for your equipment. I love coming here. Id like to also thank manager, Julie Wells, for everything shes done, too!
Always fun to bowl and you have a bar on the side the Manager on the bar is so friendly you feel like going to friends and have fun yop place to go
The wife and a gang of friends spent an evening bowling here and it was blast. We took advantage of special where we could bowl as many games as possible within 3 hrs for $10.00 per person. Shoe rental was seperate, but not expensive.Food and drink was inexpensive. Standard domestic beer per pitcher was affordable, I believe it was $7.00 for Miller and Bud Lt. They had the standard assortment of bar food. The lanes were bright, clean, and well oiled. The automatic score system was simple to use. House balls were a little beat up, but I found a decent ball without issue.Great time to be had in groups. Very recommended, and completely 100% fun.
Great lanes with unbeatable open bowling prices. Theres a decent beer selection with awesome bartenders. The customer service is pretty solid, not the best but nothing to complain about.
Whenever I come home for visits I make it my best effort to come bowling and The Columbus Palace is always nice to come to. 24hrs and great specials.
Go here at least once a week 4 dollar Tuesday is great
Its fun with new auto score it shows ball speed goodtime
Great place to spend an afternoon/evening having fun!
Most fun my family had on vacation was here! Super friendly staff!
I had some much fun bowling here The pizza is big and Delicious
Played here for 3 hours and had a great experience. Did have to call ball return a few times. Didnt mind it tho.
Needed to kill an hour so we stopped in. Attendants were all helpful. Seemed pretty clean. Had to pay an atm few as the vending machine that sold socks only took cash. Arcade games had a pretty wide variety.
Great customer service very clean
Ive had the pleasure of coming here several times. I still cant believe its open 24/7. If you love to bowl this is the biggest bowling ally in Columbus. Dont get food here its a bit over priced, just hang out get drinks and bowl.
Always fun to bowl, but their prices went up a ton since I last went a few months prior. Also wish that theyd bring back the student discount. Other than that its a great place to go late at night.
So much fun, the daily pricing specials are so worth it
It a great place. I love the pizza
We paid for two games but the timer ran out and we werent able to complete our games.
Great place to have fun! Love bowling, this is the place! Especially for parties!
Really liked the service and great time. Will be going back. We even had a hiccup with the ball getting jammed but friendly staff fixed it in a flash.
Im a very well known bowler in the Columbus area, so I know a little about bowling alleys. This bowling alley has gone completely downhill. Unless you want to spend all your time waiting for them to fix your lane, or get your ball unstuck, I would find a different alley to go too.
Definitely a fun place.
Relaxing. I enjoy the bar. Atmosphere u can bring kids & adults u can still enjoy yourself.
Always a great time. Employees are very friendly. Facility is clean. Great music.
Great place to bowl! Also the Island Bar is great for watching sports. Its never packed and the service is great!
Always host good state tournament for my daughter
