Our family is a bit odd, we do a Christmas get together in early October before some of us go south for the winter and while others are on fall break. Rather than think us odd, the staff colored us a Christmas tree and hung it above the pile of presents for the gift exchange. Thank You! Absolutely wonderful experience.
Went to the Hofbrauhaus for the Ohio On Tap pint glass.Enjoyed the bocks and 4 pretzel snack.Short on the beer cheese so we asked for more.A bit surprised the little cup cost $3.Should have asked but it was disappointing, without the menu still at the table, of the extra charge.
Attended a friends retirement party. Well taken care of by the server; cant remember her name...First time Ive been here. Enjoyed it very much; cold beer, tasty food including the sampler brats with mashed and kraut. Yummy 😋...!The entire group enjoyed themselves. Well done!
We had a dinner for 20 in one of their private dining rooms. We were taken care of with professionalism while planning the dinner, and it went off without any issues. The wait staff was friendly and on top of every request. The room was clean and the perfect size for our needs. The food was absolutely perfect. It came out hot and all diners were served at the same time. I have eaten here several times in the dining room and had similar experiences. The Hofbrauhaus has my recommendation for dinner or a party - the rooms are kept clean, the food is wonderful and the staff is professional and friendly!
The German band was excellent. They played German and American music. The food was excellent and it came really fast. They were short staffed, so I asked twice for a refill on water and leftover dishes. Overall, good experience.
Great food, good service. Pretty authentic German cuisine.
Awesome! Great food! Beer was great!Like It better than the Newport KY location.Pretzels n Beir Cheese.... yummy
Had a great experience. Well set up for covid and had a great atmosphere like a real German beer hall in Munich. Loved the prices and the food. Just be aware the pork knuckle is only sold on the weekends and its first come first serve. We had a great server who was timely friendly and fun. Would definitely come back again
Food was fabulous and the service was great. No music Saturday night but its hard to talk/hear in there if music is playing. The apple streudel was delicious!!
Absolutely amazing! From the staff to the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
We sat on the patio and had a wonderful waitress Samantha who was very attentive but fun and energetic too. There was a mixed crowd of people who have visited before and who this was their first time. She took the time to explain dishes or give recommendations on food and beer sections. Food was amazing and huge portions. Everyone loved the beer they chose and ordered multiplies. It started to pour down rain and we were quickly moved under the tented patio portion. Can be a little pricey but worth it and you can definitely share apps or entrees. Cant wait to go back
One of the best most authentic German beer halls
Came here for my birthday. Food and beer were good but the experience was sub par. We were seated at a high top table by the bathroom and the front door. It was a weird location for a table. We asked to be moved and the host said that he could not move us because he had other reservations at the main tables (not sure why we couldn’t move there as no one was there yet?) but would follow up in 5 minutes. Of course there was no follow up and no effort to move us from the uncomfortable table. I was disappointed there was no live music but figured they would be playing German music. I think the music might have been playing in the main area but we could not hear any German music at all where we were sitting. You come here for the experience and it was extremely lacking. Very disappointed I had my birthday meal here and brought my friends here.
Good food. Good beer. A little pricey for two brats, taters, and kraut, IMO, but not outrageous, I guess.
Good food. Love the Bratwurst Chili. Very attentive staff.
Really good food, service, and atmosphere. I still prefer the Newport location but I had a good time.
We shared different entrees and desserts so we could sample different things. ALL were excellent!
Very good food and service an outstanding establishment wonderful theming and great employees. The beer is out of this world
This was my first visit. The service was fantastic, the food I had was vegan bratwurst,& my husband got veggie sandwich both were incredibly good and was served quickly. Beer is beyond amazing we like Dunkel Bier,We got back the next day day to get more beer to take home. Wait almost forgot the comforting jazz/ music I love so much. I can go on and on about this place is literally amazing. Can’t wait to go back
Kyle is a great server I appreciate for what she do for me she was very friendly and chatable and funny she was fast I am definitely coming back to this place for breakfast lunch and dinner every 5 day a week
The yard sampler was really good with potato pancakes, sauerkraut balls, mozzarella sticks and pretzel. My hot brown was good. The Munich sampler was ok the sauerkraut was mushy. If you like bierwurst it may have been good but we werent a fan of it. Our table was still dirty when we were seated but, our waiter took care of us and made sure to make things right. Over all it was a good experience but not the best German Ive had.
It was good, authentic German food and great beer in a warm welcoming atmosphere
Delicious. We enjoyed sitting outside under their canopies. A fun, relaxing atmosphere.
Food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful! The manager asked whos idea it was to come to the Hofbrauhaus. I explained that we were actually going to another German restaurant in the German Village area, however there was a 2 hr wait. We are so glad our 2nd choice was actually the better choice!
I went for the first time last night. My welcome at the host desk was not the best, but my waitress was fantastic. She made sure I understood the menu options and checked on me regularly. My main entree was ok. It lacked seasoning and spice. However, my sampler appetizer was great akin along with my drink. The live entertainment was wonderful as well. Id give it a go again. My pictures show a few bites and sips taken already, lol.
Delicious German fare in a really enjoyable setting. House brewed beers are good. Fun atmosphere for all.
Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great beer. What are you waiting for?
Highly recommend!! This place has very good food and beer.
This is a great restaurant! Excellent German styles food, great atmosphere and live music. Very fun time when live acts are playing. The beer is some of the best Ive had. The lager is one of my favorite all times beers. Definitely recommend this place!
Still a great place for lunch! First time back since the pandemic. Had the ham and cheese sandwich on pretzel bun with a side of fruit. Great atmosphere and attentive server. Tables spread out to meet distance requirements. Look forward to being back soon and having a favorite beer!
Easy in, easy out, great place to catch up with some friends. Tends to be a bit loud once the evening starts rolling.
Visited for the first time today and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, portions were generous, and it was all reasonably priced. Their beer was fantastic and is all brewed in-house. The atmosphere was great and it was very jovial and enjoyable. Our server, Brittney, was very energetic and an excellent host. She answered all of our questions happily, was extremely prompt in her service, and was very helpful in all regards. Based off the staff, atmosphere, food, and drinks, I couldnt possibly recommend this place more and am looking forward to my next visit.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is for their beers!!! The atmosphere is really good to hangout with your friends and I recommend Hofbräuhaus if you wanna throw a birthday party for your friends as we did before. I’ve been there several times, but one night their live music was way soooo loud that I couldn’t even hear my friend! But overly I recommend this place + their awesome beers!
The portions were huge, the food was authentically Bavarian. They made everything from scratch, spent a lot of time on making their dishes look unique, appetizing, and impressive. My waiter was a ginger guy, cannot remember his name, Matt I think? went above and beyond.
We will definitely be back to eat here. The beer mugs are fantastic and our waitress was excellent
Excellent service, excellent food.Vibrant and fun atmosphere.
Great soft pretzels and beer cheese.
Great food great German Beers and the service was great as well.
This place serves authenic German food. The onion rings are decadent.
I messaged them privately on FB to try and get an answer to this but they read my message and did not respond - but they are scamming people for tips.We went here for my husbands 30th birthday party this past weekend, and our bill as you can see was $68.95. As you can see, 68.95 x .20 (20% of a tip) would be $13.79, NOT the $16.83 they recommended for 20%.BE THOROUGH AND CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. YES, the restaurant industry has been hit hard this year from Covid, but so have we! I also work hard for my money, and when I see that they have read my message that I sent them on FB and chose to not respond, I am posting on here for everyone else to be aware and do your own math if you still continue to do business here (which we will not be, after being loyal customers for years).
Was not a huge fan of the creamy like sauerkraut. Rest of the mean was fine.
The food is wonderful. Excellent kraut and German potato salad. If you have never been, try the sampler for a nice variety.
This is a fun place. Neat experience that you should have at least once. They have a guy doing polka music and such (not right now b/c COVID) but the building and everything really makes you think your in an old German pub kind of a thing. The food is decent the beer is okay but outrageously overpriced. You dont really go hear for great food you go for the experience. This place is alright but Id probably go somewhere else better and cheaper if I had the option.
The Hofbräuhaus serves very authentic German food which is delicious, with large portions for the price. They also have live music at certain times which is great to listen to/watch. Overall it’s a great experience. With absolutely amazing food, super great staff and the whole environment, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Excellent food, fun decor. Live music was fun. They had hockey on the tvs (thank you!), families, couples, ladies/bro night groups all were present. Cream Puffs are the best in the city for sure.Update- Excellent service on 9-23-17. It was jam packed, including patio, but atmosphere was great, family from out of town are in love. More pics added.
This was our first time here, or any German restaurant for that matter. We ordered the pretzels with cheese as an appetizer and they were AMAZING. My husband ordered the schnitzel sandwich with a side of cheese spatzle and he enjoyed it. I got a Reuben with german potato salad. I LOVED the German potato salad but Ive had better reubens at Irish restaurants. They had so many dishes I wanted to try. Cant wait to go back.
The food and atmosphere was good. I dont drink beer so I cant rate that. I would have liked to see more German dishes. They had more traditional American items than German items.
Clay was an amazing server!!! Food was delicious!!! Try the Boston Cream Puff!!!
Awesome spot to try different foods you never knew you loved. If you have a taste for custom or indie beers, this is your spot. As soon as you think your happy with a beer, your server will say hold up, pour this into your drink and you will be rolling over the change in taste and flavor. My server was Brandon and he made my experience truly a 10/10. He was the Walter White of what I should put in my drinks his knowledge of the drinks I ordered and the additives to set it off was superb. I was forced by my own love of the experience to buy a growler pic below
Great food, great atmosphere, and great beer!
I lived In German and the food and atmosphere reminds me of being in Bavaria. The schnitzel was excellent.
When I called i was told a 30 to 45 minute wait. I was staying at the Courtyard Marriott OSU. I walked over and was asked if I had a reservation and I said no. I got seated immediately. Our server AJ went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I will definitely eat here again.
The food was good, BUT.... We went with friends and I requested a “birthday surprise” and it ended up being a giant nothing, even after I reminded the server a second time. I was more than happy to pay for a cake or whatever - the server said they had a birthday sundae; our friend is in his 70’s and with the pandemic he hasn’t been able to celebrate. VERY DISAPPOINTING!! I have a memory like an elephant and I won’t forget this.
Always good food. Try the cream puffs, theyre huge. Havent had live music the last few times Ive been there, which is a bummer, but with the pandemic its understandable.
