This is the best mechanic I have ever experienced. Kris and Dan are so honest and communicative about the process. Absolute value pricing considering the warranties and peace of mind they offer. This shop stands behind their word and work. They also have a drop off/ pick up service if you don’t have transportation available. This is the only place I will have my vehicle worked on from here out.

I have used this shop several times for different things. Had a new transmission put in a truck recently and Shifflet Auto did a great job. Also had a raccoon get in an engine bay and did some damage, they fixed it up in no time. I would recommend them anytime

I went here to see why my heater wasnt coming on. They quoted me a $500 fix. I always take it to a second mechanic when its that high. The second mechanic fixed it for $100. My heater works great now. When I called them to see if I could get back my money since they didnt even quote me for what was wrong, Dan said he couldnt give me back my money cuz he had employees that needed my money for not even finding what was wrong with my car. So you took money from a new mother instead. Its good to know what kind of people you are n what kind of people you employ. I will be letting everybody know.

Shifflet Auto Care is an excellent family run business that really does things the right way! Ive trust Mike and his staff with my vehicle fully from initially meeting him. They are honest, straight forward and overall do great work at reasonable prices. They have awesome flyers with great coupons and they have great oil change customer loyalty program. I highly recommend these guys.

Great service and work was definitely up to par. I am very mechanically inclined and just didnt have the tools needed for the job on my car. I outsourced the work to them and they exceeded every expectation. Even when problems arose, which when working on cars they always do, they kept me informed and advised me of the course they would take with it. The work was done correctly and with high quality parts, not the garbage you get if you walk into a parts store yourself. Prices were competitive. Something a wise old man said that I will always remember you may not always get what you pay for, but you will NEVER get what you dont pay for. Id rather pay more to get the job done once the right way and thats exactly what they did. To those who look at the previous reviews, remember, this is a business. As someone involved in the automotive field I get to see firsthand the stuff shops have to deal with. They must make a profit. Everyone wants the work done for free but that isnt how it works. I personally, had a great experience and will return in the future!

Im giving them 5 stars though full disclosure it did take a little less than a week to get my car repaired. The good things about Shifflet though far outweigh the wait time. For one everyone that I interacted with were extremely professional. My wifes car was going to have a fairly complex repair (in my estimation) and they offered to let us take it back for the weekend so we wouldnt be without a car. We left it with them and they finished it up in a couple of days. Secondly, their prices are FAR more fair than a dealership. We took this car to the dealership and they wanted to repair several things to resolve a rattling noise for $600 and that wouldnt have resolved the problem anyway. It turned out Shifflet got it right and we spent less than what the dealer would have charged for fixing the wrong thing. Finally I was happy to see they had some advertising for the local high schools in their office. Talking to them they said they like to invest in the community. Kudos all around.

These folks are technically solid and transactionally honest. I have used them 3-4 times now, and I have been very happy with their work. The boss, Mike, is a very trustworthy guy and will give you as much detail as you need up-front to make an informed decision about repairs. Dan and the other folks at the front desk are also knowledgable and easy to work with. I highly recommend Shifflet Auto Care.

I cant recommend this place enough. I was driving home a few weeks ago and had a deer run out in front of my truck. The good thing was really no body damage, but it did bust a headlight.After driving for a few days I began to notice the truck pulling to one side. I took it to Shifflet to check it out.Turns out that the way that deer hit my tire was like hitting a pot hole. So, it needed an alignment. They got me taken care of in no time & fixed the busted light.

There has never been any pressure about trying to get work done if having to prioritize, along with some helpful insight at times about what to prioritize in a certain order for multiple repairs that need to be taken care of!

Best overall experience ever. Everyone was so nice and caring to my situation. I had an issue with the warranty company but Mike was able to call on his personal time to get it worked out for me. This shop gave me the best experience I’ve ever had. They fixed my car in a day (electrical problems), called me 3 times to make sure I knew what was going on, picked me up and dropped me off at work and the customer service was outstanding. I’m definitely going back for any work they can do. Outstanding job.

Would like to leave a better review but i cant. I had an issue with my parking light and my local mechanic in London, Ohio recommended this place for electrical work. I had an electric diagnostic test done at this place and they told me it would cost around $600+ (including the test) to fix my parking light and fog light. They said that the wires in the back would need replaced as well as a 4-way Flasher switch. $600 to fix a parking light?!?! Well i took it to another trusted local mechanic and he took apart my front end and told me that my lights werent even plugged in!!! The connection wires were just laying there unplugged, that someone must have unplugged them and not plugged them back in!! All my mechanic had to do was plug in my lights and they started working!! He only charged me $30!! i paid $123 for an electronic test at Shifflet and they couldnt tell me that my lights werent plugged in?! Instead they wanted me to pay $600 to fix my parking light and FOG light?! What if i would have paid that?! All they had to do was plug them in.. What if i was stupid enough to pay $600?! I am now telling my local mechanics about what happened so they will no longer recommend this place to customers!! They ripped me off. Period.

If you go in with one issue, you will leave with 2 and still need to go to a second shop to finally fix everything. Left with a spark plug loose the first time then a flat tire the second. I would highly recommend avoiding this place for car repairs.

Took my car here for an inspection, they charged me $60. Ive never been charged for an inspection/estimate. They told me $1900 to fix my car. It needs front end work. I get home and order the parts myself, $150. I called them and the person I talked to admitted to up-pricing the parts. Also said it would take 8 hours to fix it and labor is $107/hr. Someone, please tell me what I am missing here. Will be reporting them to AAA and the BBB. ZERO STARS!!!!UPDATE: Parts and labor $400 from a small town shop 😁. This is why Ill always be a country girl!

I have been going to Shifflet Auto Care since I started driving 9 years ago, and I will not trust my car to any other mechanic. If it is just a simple oil change, brakes, tires, or a major repair this is the place to go. Fair pricing and it will be fixed right the first time. The most important part of choosing a place to have your car serviced is finding a place that wont tell you that you need work done thats doesnt really need done. I tried to start my cadillac deville several times but the solenoid would not engage. Battery was working. I had it towed to Shifflet Auto Care on a friday night. On monday when they tried to start the car it started. They suggested that they should check the car over and start it through out the day. Much to everyones surprise everything in the engine was fine. They recommended a few things to be done in the near future that were not engine related. They had completely checked out my car from top to bottom. I was impressed with how thorough Shifflet is.

I was very pleased with the services that me and my son got when ever we had a question we would call they would tell us every time and we did. not have to wait that long at all to get our car back. Excellent Customer Service!! My father has been a loyal customer for over 3 years and recently reccommended them to me. The staff here has always been honest and knowledgeable with any issues we have had. Repairs are made quickly and they do quality work with care. They have helped with rides when dropping off our vehicles. In particular Charlie and Mike are great guys who are always willing to help.

They came highly recommended to me when I had an axel break. They were very professional. Before ordering the parts they told me the full cost of fixing the issue. Once the parts came in (2 days), they fixed my car. The mechanic wasnt happy with how the parts made my car sound even though my car was completely safe and whole again, so he ordered new parts and did the replacement again at no charge. He still didnt like it, so he ordered a different manufacturer and did it again, also at no charge. Again, he didnt like it so he ordered the more expensive Ford parts and did the replacement, also at no charge. Michael Shifflet oversaw the project and took care of me and my car every step of the way. I have never come across a business that put in this much effort and with such amazing customer service! I appreciated being treated like family. I wont be taking my car anywhere else!

At first I was impressed they give you an option of taking you home and bringing you back instead of having to wait if the services takes a while. Then I though their diagnosis was pretty high, around $130. After it was diagnosed, I was told the issue was my ignition cylinder that was making my car not turn over and it needed replaced that it would cost me $700. I got a estimate at 4 other shops it was no more than $400, then I took it into a shop that I found a good deal, they diagnose my car at NO charge and it was the ignition cylinder. Charged me $350, and a month later my car is running fine. So yes they may find the issue of your car but expect them to charge you double.

Had my car towed to them for a water pump replacement and that might have been the best part of my experience.Over the course of the 28(!) days they had my car, the quote went from 1000 to 2200 to 3200 before the final charge of 3500. Part of which came from them breaking a bolt and needing to tear apart more of the engine to fix their mistake. All the while their time estimation was always end of the week.Its worth noting their hours because thats the most you might get out of them. While waiting on my car I would regularly call around 9:00 AM to check on the status and was met with well, the mechanic isnt here yet coupled with we usually break for lunch around 12. But dont worry, theyre out of there at 5:00 PM on the dot.I came here on the recommendation of my grandfather, but I now have the tough job of informing him that the upstanding and good mechanic he knew owned the place has apparently completely lost both his skills and morals.Oh and my car smells like stale cigarettes now too.

First off right when I called the shop he quickly told me to hold on without any acknowledgement & all I asked for was a price estimate on swapping my transmission out for a used one. He gave me an Outrageously Overpriced quote which was starting off at 2,500!!😐 I didnt even ask for a rebuild,which should be 1,500 at the most going off of what all these other shops have told me in Columbus, but really??just for a JunkYard transmission....anybody who falls for that Scam is an Idiot. They should change their company name to Shifty these people are Crooks.

Very disappointed. I try to shop local so I took a car in for estimate to fix a window motor and check the AC. quoted over 400 for the window and over 1600 for the AC and had to pay over 100 just for the check out. Went to another local shop and got the window motor replaced and the AC pressure tested, only to find it has a small leak, he recharged and put in dye to find the leak. All this for $240 and both the AC and window working fine. This place owes me $111.56 and should be ashamed of themselves

Yet another Air conditioning complaint. Against my better judgment my wife took her car in to have the ac fixed. They said they would fill it with a dye and freon for $150. If it leaked out... notice the if then they would be able to find and repair the leak. Also the $150 would go towards the second fix. Well guess what didnt happen. Im with the other guy and will fix it myself and will never be back here. Also the guy was an a**. Would of rated zero stares if I could have.

A month ago I got brand new tires, brakes and rotors from these guys, they did a great job, fast forward a month later i ran over a screw and my new tire went flat in 15 mins these guys had me back out on the road free of charge since i had JUST gotten the tires best customer service i highly recommend them!

This store is not honest. If you are not a mechanic yourself, you will certainly be ripped off by 40% or more.One time I got a dirty cheap Groupon and wanted to give this shop a try. My car had some noises and I wanted them to have a check and estimation. The estimation was not cheap, around $50. I got a call and astonished that, my car needs something around $900+ for repair. I humbly requested to take a look why my 10 years old car justify such an expensive repair.One work is a bearing replacement. They charged $350 and refused to discount the $50 inspection fee, because the wheel has been put back and they cannot discount it any more. I went back to my regular mechanic and they charged me only $250.If this 40% higher price ripping off is not surprising you, the next $600+ work they recommended was to replace all my cooling tank because it leaked. When I showed the slightest skepticism, they threatened back, they could not recommend me to drive this out of city because the engine would overheat. With the tiny leak at an extremely high location, the coolant level is normally high and I never noticed any overheat. Instead I found that, it is nothing more than a plastic pipe leak. I dont need to replace the metal part at all. I put some pepper into the coolant and the tiny leak stopped.I have drove the car happily ever since. This dishonest store is so impressively ripping off that one month after their work, I still remember to spend half an hour bad mouthing them here. :)

We went to Shifflet to support the local neighborhood. We had a truck, older, in great condition, with air that wouldnt work. They repaired it, at great cost, and the air worked for all of 2 days. We brought the truck back, they said it was a different leak or issue, and they would have to repair it again. At great cost. Against our better judgement, we went ahead and had the work done, and paid AGAIN. That was the fall. The air worked for the week more we needed it. We just tried it again, as it is spring. Dead. No air. We will NEVER go back. The first job should have been fixed, not done again and charged again. They were rude, and frankly, disrespectful when we tried to get answers after the first repair.Do not go to SHIFFLET. Overpriced, rude, and they do not stand behind their work

They are crooks!! I can not believe how unprofessional this company is, or how they are staying in business! My Grandfather took his classic car that is in amazing condition, to get fixed. This company charged them $600 in Labor fees. Then said they wanted to put in a new water pump, the cost for the water pump is $30. They wanted to charge an additional $400 on top of the $600. Not to mention whatever they did to the car, it now runs 10 times worse. Shifflet now says that they wouldnt even drive the car in the condition they put it in. This company is a huge Scam. Instead of fixing the problems they caused to the car they decide to yell at you through the phone, and charge you full price instead of doing the job. Also taking advantage of people is WRONG!

On a scale of 1-10 with one being the worst I would rate them at -100 and should actually be no starsCharged to say the transmission needed repaired ( something that was already known) then quoted $5-6000 over and above the diagnostic rip off plus the unneeded repairs (800.00) they done. Car went to a reputable transmission shop (Central Ohio Transmission) on the east side and was quoted less than 1/4 of Shiftys price without even telling them about Shiftys quote. They did not even know the car had been at Shiftlesss place. Car is fixed now, it was done in a day and a half, runs great and even has a warranty, something you dont get from Shifty Shiftless.Places like this give honest repair shops a bad name, they really should not be allowed to be in business. they need to be turned over to the A.G. office or change their name to Shifty and Shiftless Criminal Enterprise.One of the biggest rip offs in the city, all that can be said is BEWARE.

Horrible Business Practice “Why bad reviews are true”The business practice here is crazy, they are more eager to tell you off and rip you off then “”help you””. I got a 3 pack of free oil changes. That turns out to be free + hidden fees. I couldn’t imagine trying to get something fixed or repaired here that they had to look at or was a $100+ fix. It would probably cost triple. So I try to get my 2nd of the 3 free oil changes I am supposed to get “because I paid for it”, but they want to pull some crap about it being a different vehicle not my wife’s original vehicle. Who cares I get 5 quarts of oil, 1 filter and wait an hour and a half, to still pay them 8 bucks for my free oil change, I already purchased.The worst thing about it, they are more than happy to tell me off and send me out then try to work something out. No 5 bucks more for the confusion difference whatever, no anything tuff **** go away. This is ridiculous who really cares what car had the first oil change I paid for 3 oil changes already, the horrible deal of a free oil change pack plus hidden fees and grief on getting something legitimate. I feel sorry for anyone who feels they have to go here to get repairs. I’m sure they can muster up some friends, family and co-workers to bury me review but this is why bad reviews are true.

Spoke to Charlie several times about the problem before bringing in the vehicle. Although we spoke and I was specific pertaining to instructions on diagnosing what the problem was. He still worked and charged me like we never had a prior conversation. Basically ripping me off for....no fix, no real diagnosis.. just charged me for nothing. At any rate, Ive dealt with auto mechanics and I wouldnt trust this shop if it was the last shop in town. Cant recommend.

These people are crooks. Absolutely 100% crooks. How dare them, they quoted my grandmother $1300 for a pcm to be replaced. PCM is a Power Control Module. I priced them around $200 and about $100 to get it programmed at the dealership. My grandmother told them her situation as well which means these people have no heart. We are currently trying to get my grand father through chemo and radiation and she needs the vehicle to get back and forth to treatment. By the way did i mention once the PCM is programmed it take about 1/2 hour to replace. CROOKS, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They try to take advantage of people in bad situations. They are trying to charge $1000 for a 1/2 hour of labor.

Took moms 92 lincoln for an ac compressor.They want to change three other parts because they said they were bad sight unseen $720.And I already had the compressor.Did it myself for $170 including online compressor,works fine without changing any of the parts they said were bad sight unseen.

These people are straight crooks as previously mentioned in other reviews. I was in town and went out to my truck and it wouldnt start. I found this place close so I had my Blazer towed in there. I called because nobody had called me to let me know whats going on. They tried telling me that it was my starter and my ignition switch, I became suspect right when they told me this. So I called my dad out of state who works on cars and he said he would just go with the starter and go from there. So I called them back and asked them how much it would be to just replace the starter, they told me $587, I was floored by this pricing so I went and paid their $60 they charged me for diagnostic. Found a guy to do the starter, the starter cost me $125 and it literally took him less than 5 mins to get the starter off and 10 mins to put it in. These people are straight crooks and would not recommend them to my worst enemy
