I called them right after my alternator went out while I was running errands. They were able to fit me in immediately they fixed it in time for me to go to work the next day. The price wasnt too bad, it was about average. I will definitely be using them again. They followed the timeline they gave me from the beginning. They were very nice, efficient and they kept me updated on my car.

No charge for a small follow-up repair after a brake job I got elsewhere. its honest work like this that speaks tomes in reliability. the 50 years of experience isnt anything to sneeze at either. Ive lived in the neighborhood for over a decade and glad theres still a small business mechanic holding it down, despite all of the growth. the service was quick and also friendly. very satisfied and will always recommend them to others.

Great customer service. I communicated my problem over the phone for a quick job (< 10 minutes) that I needed done immediately, and he told me to come in right away. When I arrived, the gentlemen was working on a car and stopped what he was doing to take care of me. Very fair and considerate. Thanks a ton!

My alternator stopped working in the middle of my work day. I dropped my car off at noon and it was fixed and ready to go by 5! The price was reasonable and I have a year warranty on my alternator! I’ll be taking my car back for any other issues I have!

Had our car towed here after it stopped running. They told us it would be $45 to look at it. Of we had repairs done that would be deducted from the balance. The engine had seized up. Because of the year and conditions of the car it would cost more to repair than worth. They were nice enough to not change us the fee. Saying it seemed we had enough to deal with at the moment. We didnt need a pointless charge from them. Just for looking at it.With everything else going on it was nice not to be changed. I know it was only $45. But ever little bit helps.

Took my car there dozens of times throughout and after college, great experiences all around. Not sure if operations changed hands in the family or what, but my last two visits were a huge departure from the good experiences I had before. Sucks, its hard to find a good shop too.

Ive been a customer of Evans for over 20 years.As a Road Warrior putting 30 to 50 thousand miles a year on the Road, it was reassuring that the team at Evans NEVER let me down.I once had my S-10 towed in from out-of-state simply because I knew that if it was possible to be fixed and be back on the road within a few hours, they would do it... and they did.They are honest about assessments and prices, and more than reasonable in most instances. If they cant do it, they know the people that can be trusted to get the job done at the best prices.Now retired and living 50 miles from Columbus, I find it more than worth the effort to drive the disitance for their unequaled quality of work.Only if there were no other way to have the work done would I consider another shop, but in my mind, no one can beat Evans Auto Repair.

They are extremely busy the reason is they do good work and the prices are reasonable but you got to get in there whenever you can your best bet is to make an appointment.

Took my car here as I live down the street and they are super close. Labor is reasonable, however parts are marked up. They did however fix my bumper for free!! I was so excited and my car was fixed right the first time!!

I had a problem with my AC, they promised to fix my problem, after a few days my AC was not working again, I called them to see what’s up with this and they said I have a leak and that they won’t fix my AC problem. No Refund No nothing just a Scam and they ripped me off I had paid over $90 just for my AC problem and they just took my money. So useless. Rip offs.

My car is older and has occasional issues and whenever it decides to give out I take it to Evans. They are so accommodating and have my car fixed in no time! Their prices are fair and everyone is really nice!

Ive been going to these mechanics for years now, and every time theyve provided quality service, honest opinions, and great prices. They dont try and sell you stuff you dont need. If you have an older vehicle then this is the place for you!

Had them replace my spark plugs and wires (very simple job)...everything seemed fine although it kinda seemed to idle a bit rougher....3 months later my check engine light comes on and I find out when they put in the new plug they stripped out the socket, causing misfires and now its costing me $400 to fix it. If they cant even replace spark plugs correctly Ill NEVER use them again or anyone I know.

I went to the shop to do safety inspection, and that guy named mike called me on the day and give me a list of things i need to do:1. change right rear tire: $702. needs rear brake adjustment: $803. trans. mounts: $300I took my car back to my home town and fix it for less than that price.however, the service is fast.

I have always had positive experiences with this shop over the past decade. Honest guys and priced fairly.

Dropped off my car for an oil change, and got a call an hour later saying they couldnt open the hood and asking me how to do it. I told them there should be a switch they can use. After another hour and a half, they gave me another call and told me that the hood was broken and that I would need to take it to a body shop. When I got there, I opened the hood within 5 minutes and showed them it was indeed not broken. After that, they did not prioritize my car at all (after I already wasted 2.5 hours of the day). They took another 2 hours to change the oil, at which point I was charged full price. A mechanic not being able to open a hood is laughable, and for them to not offer me a discount and to continue blowing off my car for another 2 hours is down right insulting. An oil change should never take four and a half hours, and any mechanic should be able to figure out how to open up a hood. I will never return to this mechanic.

This place is my mainstay for car repairs in Columbus. Why? THEY ARE HONEST! They dont tell you to repair extra things, they dont make unrealistic promises about completion time, they dont take advantage of you regardless of how mechanically inept you are.One thing to note: Due to their location, their insurance does not cover your car if it is left on the lot overnight. It has never been an issue for me, however.

Good honest repair shop. Had the exhaust pipe on my civic rusted through. Took it to some other chain stores and they wanted to replace my entire pipe and muffler. These guys said they could just repair the pipe for 1/4 of the cost of my other quotes. Took it in and they had it done in less than 2 hours. Dont let their location fool you, these guys are one of the honest auto repair shops in Columbus.

I can not say enough good things! My husband and I came down to Columbus for the OSU spring game from Toledo... On our way home our brakes started smoking...we pulled into Evans auto repair to try and figure out how to get home safe... The guys working gave us the sas news that they closed 15 minutes ago however they went above and beyond to find the parts and get us road worthy again to get us home safe! I highly recccomend them and will be coming back if in the Columbus area!

I tell all my friends and family to take their cars to Evans. They are family owned and operated since 1969. This means if someone working on your car doesnt know immediately whats wrong they have decades and decades of experience to turn to. Over and over theyve charged me LESS than their original estimate - how often does THAT happen elsewhere? I have a 17 year old Toyota RAV4 with 135,000 miles on it, so it needs both routine maintenance but also special repairs. Theyve always accurately described the problem and fixed it in a timely fashion. Better yet, several times theyve given me options - do I want a repair that will last for years or a less expensive alternative that will just get me by until later? They take the time to explain the problem, how theyll fix it, and what I can expect in the future. They get me in quickly and return my car on time. Most recently I had a flat, when I took the damaged tire to Firestone they told me I needed to replace it for $150, because the RAV4 carries a full size spare like most mini-SUVs (no donut). I postponed it and....wouldnt you know? Last week I had another flat, leaving me high and dry with no spare. I wasnt sure Evans did tire repair in addition to mechanical repair, but called them anyway. They towed my car in, and repaired BOTH tires for $20. The cost of the tow AND both tires was less than Firestone quoted me for one tire. The first time I went to them was because another repair shop had failed to find a slow oil leak but charged me for replacing a gasket anyway, and when that didnt work said the car was just old. Evans found the leak and fixed it. Theyve babied my car for years now and I wouldnt trust it with anyone else. I have no idea what the lady who gave the poor review was talking about - please note that the other 21 reviews are all positive. Evans is a wonderful shop with kind and courteous mechanics who know their stuff. I call when I need anything done, even if Im pretty sure they DONT do it, like body work, lol. I recently needed some minor body work and they sent me to a shop that did a great job on that, too. They are #1 in my book.

Called to make an appointment and the man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and short with me. I would not recommend this business.

Not impressed. brought my car there for them to look at because it was making an awful noise. the guy looked at it, said he did something and told me to turn it on and i said it still sounded like how it did and he insisted he fixed it... okay? so then, conveniently.... the tire he was bent down by had a nail in it. right in front of his face. not saying he put it there, but it was weird... whatever. so then the guy goes, theres a nail in your tire, ill fill it for $10 dollars. i said id be back the next day.so then the next day, i come, drop off my car. this was around 1PM, maybe 2. i was told theyd call me when it was done. i walked home, waited until 8 PM, waked back over there because i hadnt heard anything and didnt have their number. THEY WERE CLOSED. no one told me it was going to be kept over night. i needed my car in the morning to get to work. DUH. i was livid. i wrote a note saying i wasnt aware they were keeping it over night and i needed my car. i had my spare key, and took my car home.the next day, i get a call around 10 AM. the guy asked if i took my car, i said yes. he said that they wont be able to work on it that day because i took it and they were going to work on it in the morning. i said i wasnt told you were going to keep my car over night and i needed it. i asked if i should bring it the next day. he said they were closed until tuesday. so i said, should i bring it tuesday. and he said sure. i didnt. they suck.

Threr is a mechanic there that has a nasty disposition about him and is very snotty to people,and my wife seen a bottle of booze in his back pocket.iam not too happy with trained people like this one person working on my automobile..

1) I did car maintenance here: changed machine oil, air filter, brake pads and rotors. After that, I can hear some noise from the back wheel (the noise was coming from emergency brake, not the replaced parts). They fixed this problem without charging.

Didnt actually get serviced there. But the guy who answers the phone was rude as hell.

Dropped car off at 9:30 for an “hour estimate” to replace muffler; 5 hours later had to pick up car without an estimate.Solo Mufflers got me in and out within 25 minutes.
