Awful place with no working amenities, very very unfriendly and helpful staff, and a front office that harasses you till you change to a 5 star review, and basically said “it’s very dumb to leave a bad review for a place you currently live.” Sounds like a threat to me. Not to mention we were told that the gym would be finished “very soon” and they have made no apparent progress in two months. An ex renter here told us it has been “coming soon” for several months. Love being lied to about AND paying for amenities that aren’t available! Not to mention several of our appliances including our fridge, oven hood, kitchen under cabinet lights, and our bathtub drain were all non/poor functioning when we moved in. On night one we had a carbon monoxide scare that was due to a faulty alarm, and the broken stove hood. Fire department showed up at 1am before we could contact ANYONE from fox and hounds, via any of the phone numbers available to us.Update 1: pool randomly closed during operating hours no one will tell us why.Update 2: people from other complexes use the pool daily. I’ve met more people from hearthstone or the place across Kenny than from F&H.Update 3: posted about “working out in 24/7 gym” with photos of so called “gym” that is not complete yet. The post was august 26th, and it’s currently September 16 and we still don’t have a completed gymUpdate 4: we were charged double for our utilities and it took them over two weeks and several emails to fix it.Update 5: our building is LITERALLY falling apart. See photosF&H if you want that 5 star review so badly, fix your place
I did not want to write a review before I left this place. But I thought it would be too late then. So I would not recommend this place to anyone. I already regret my decision to renew my lease for another year. The manager told me they have started charging tenants with a fixed charge for utilities. The number was way higher than what I had normally paid for utilities. However, despite them charging me the fixed amount, they kept charging me extra, which I did not realize until two months after renewing my lease. When I noticed that they were overcharging me, I contacted the manager, asking her to explain. She said all these charges were leftover from the previous lease (which I do not believe was true). But even then, they kept charging me until I messaged the manager one more time, asking why this did not stop as she had told me. I asked her to take out that amount from my next months rent. However, as I had expected, I never heard back from her. Also, when I found a tiny cockroach in my apartment, I was worried they might multiply and scatter everywhere, and I emailed the office people to let me know. I never heard back from them. I called the office the following Monday, again, I never heard back from them. I also see rats running around my apartment all the time now. I am so lucky I dont live on the first floor. Their pest control sucks, and they dont care at all. All they care about is to run the whole facility below the minimum cost and take as much money as they can from you. That is their primary business principle. The management is terrible here. So I look forward to the end of my lease or even breaking my lease.
Loved our time at Fox and Hounds! We got a great price for a 2 bedroom, and I miss the bark park dearly. Appliances were new and worked great, and there is a lot of green space to walk around the complex. Its also very close to OSU with a lot of other students in the area but much less congested than by campus.
My husband and I lived at Fox and Hounds for 1 year, and we have 2 corgis. We loved going to the dog park and loved how dog friendly the apartment complex is. We never had a problem with maintenance or using the clubhouse for working out/using the computers.
I love my apartment and feel at home here at Fox and Hounds. It is truly a community. Jen is extremely professional and takes interest in the tenants. Mike the leasing agent helped me in a situation with my rent payment. He remained very calm, patient, and attentive. I truly appreciate his help! Jenny
I heard they retaliate against current residents that give bad reviews. Cant do anything to me so heres an honest opinion. I just moved out 2 months ago.Its loud, smelly, and pretends to be nice on the inside but you can tell it was slapped together. They shut down the clubhouse for 3 months then tried to get me to renew while it was still closed. I did a year there and wish I hadnt. My neighbor continuously smoked inside the apartment and it came into mine no matter how many times I complained. The HVAC was old and the pool is basically a frat party all the time. If you like to smoke and have parties, thats the place to be. If youre clean and like quiet, avoid at all cost.
Great apartments. It’s very quiet here. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
I have been living here at Fox and Hounds for three years and love my home. The maintaintence are great and staff. Wish they would get the Club House completed soonExcited too see how its going too look.
My experience with my last apartment complex was extremely stressful, i knew right when I walked into the leasing office for my tour that I wanted to live here. The staff in the leasing office was so kind and welcoming. Samantha is great. I had some trouble with the lock on my front door and they took care of it immediately. The appliances are new and updated, and the flooring and carpet is super nice. I have moved a lot over the last 7 years and I can tell already that I’m going to be staying here for awhile!
There are not enough words to explain the service and to be honest, friendship that I have experienced from the management at Fox & Hounds. They have gone above and beyond to work with me and help me in every way they can. I have lived in many apartment communities and to be afforded this kind of professionalism and courtesy is unheard of. I would recommend this community anytime and to anyone who is looking for a staff and management team that cares about their renters. A personal thank you to Heather for her kindness and professionalism; she is a treasure to be had for sure.
I am currently in search of a apartment for rent in this area. As I drove around the property to take a look you see stacked up dirty mattresses near the dumpsters which instantly is a turn off along with other miscellaneous furniture just sitting out. The grass is pretty overgrown in most areas and it doesn’t look as if there has been much landscape done or at least not well maintained. After reading the reviews about people having issues with bugs and seeing those mattresses stacked up it makes me not even want to inquire about living there. Appearance is what sells and maybe if I had caught it on a better day I would have potentially looked into the place as the picture online look very nice.
It’s been two years since I lived here and I’m still angry about it. There were several times people were in my apartment to “fix” things with no notice at all (this was when things were getting “remodeled”. It’s eerie to see a mans dirty shoe prints in your apartment when you had no knowledge of someone being there) I complained and they said they wrote a note on my file saying I’d prefer a notice before anyone was there as if that wasn’t standard practice already. One time we got an eviction notice because my roommate had forgotten to write out our address on the front of the envelope. I paid a exorbitant amount of money in electric to keep my dehumidifier going all the time because I lived in a basement unit that flooded whenever there was rain, ruined two rugs and a couch because if it. Just hope that Jen is no longer working there. She’d ride around in a golf cart, quietly posting notes on your door, then would dash away before you could catch her to ask questions. For instance, she posted a note saying we were short on our rent and we’d be evicted (yes another eviction notice- Jen loved to hand these out any time there was an issue which would alarm anyone) which was odd. Luckily, I was able to catch her before she dodged me. She said we should’ve known about the increase as she had sent “multiple” letters before. There was also never any new lease signed with a new amount owed either. I even had to contact my lawyer at one point because I knew many of my rights has a renter were being trampled. It’s just bad business. I’ve never had issues before or after from other landlords and would rate any of them 5 stars compared to fox and hound.
The apartments are lovely and the people are very friendly! Maintenance is quick to respond and takes good care of the property. Cant wait to see the new clubhouse/gym renovations this summer.
You live here for the price, but I think there are better value options near by. We have roaches and lamp post fell outside my window and started sparking for months until it was replaced. The pool was nice, but that hot tub is nasty when it even works. Our apt ceiling was cracked in the middle and basically collapsing. But the kitchen did look nice i guess.
I lived there 6 months and all of my tires were stolen from my car. Two neighbors had broken car windows on two separate incidents. I addressed concerns with management and they were incredibly defensive. It’s simply not a safe place to live.
If you are old like myself please do not move here. I live with my son but he is very young and can get around just fine but not me. The snow in the winter time is only shoveled to your door. They could careless of the sheet of ice in the parking lot (unsalted). Even going to the mailbox takes me a good 30 minutes poor mailman has to work with nothing but ice on the ground.
I absolutely love living at Fox and Hounds!! Not only are the apartments beautiful, but the amenities like the pool, gym, computer lab, and movie theater are spectacular. The office staff is beyond friendly and made the entire moving process smooth and easy, and the maintenance staff has been the fastest to respond of any apartment community I have lived in before. I am so excited to call this place my home!
Terrible customer service. My brother and I tried applying for a lease takeover at this apartment. The office staff told us that our applications looked great (we both have great credit, rental history, and more then 3x rental income). It took 3 weeks for them to get back to us on the status of our applications and that was only AFTER I called twice. Finally they sent me an email to begin setting up our utilities and internet. I assumed that meant our applications were approved and began the process of transferring. A few days after receiving that email, my brother and I both received an email saying our applications were denied. Confused, I called in to see why our applications were denied. I spoke with the assistant manager and she couldn’t even give me the reason why our applications were denied. She said it was “confidential” information even though the office staff had to type in all of the information on our applications. She offered no help in figuring this situation out and showed no compassion at all. I should also note that this all happened AFTER the took the application fees and “reservation” fees from the woman we were trying to sublet from. These people are money hungry and DO NOT care about customer service. I’m baffled at the lack of care that came with this process. They wasted nearly a month of my time and resources and couldn’t even apologize for it. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
Nice and quiet place. There aren’t too many college students, so it’s much quieter than living near campus. Maintenance takes care of requests in a timely manner as well. Management is nice as well.
‘It’s what’s on the inside that counts’... after multiple calls (6-7), this damage from a leaking roof has still not been resolved. Initially, we were told that nobody could fix it immediately, due to the weather and icy conditions on the roof. I understand the safety hazards associated with such a repair. What I don’t understand is saying someone is coming over to check it out when NO ONE has attempted to come over and fix this mess. I’ve had to throw out a nice piece of carpet due to accumulated water soiling it. Gone through multiple towels to dry up the mess and cleaning up dry wall. Don’t get me wrong, for the area and accommodations, such as in-unit washer/dryer, it’s super affordable. Maybe the saying should be, ‘You get what you pay for’.
I lived at Fox & Hound for a year and had a great experience. The staff in the office were very helpful and friendly. I had few issues with the apartment and maintenance came out and addressed the issues I did have. They opened the pool with safety restrictions last summer during Covid and it was so nice, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed being able to enjoy sunny days while social distancing from others. The apartments have really nice updated kitchens, great for cooking. Bedrooms and closets are spacious. Overall the location felt safe and never had a car break-in or concern compared to Short North area. The location is also really convenient and close to Bethel, Sawmill, and Henderson for easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, et cetera. Highly recommend!
Thank you for doing such outstanding job in the office along with maintenance team. I will be signing another year because i love living here. The best place i have lived. Well keep up the good customer service.
I could write a novel about how terrible my experiences were here. Beware!
Be very careful signing a lease with this place. Water, gas and sewage utilities used to be included in the rent as a flat fee. They changed this in the middle of our lease to start metering through a company called YES Utility Billing, and we were not given any option to opt out of this change.Edit: Around 6 months after this change, I was informed that we would be allowed to switch back to the original utility billing.
So far, so good. I’ll try to provide an accurate account of my time here as a lot of reviews can dissuade you from missing out on a decent community. As with most communities there are inconveniences that arise. Sometimes due to other residents or outside residents, as someone else attested to on Yelp. It is not uncommon to see non-residents in the pool area and especially the dog park, naturally, it’s a little frustrating to see non-paying folks using amenities that F&H residents pay for, but I imagine this is a little difficult to enforce.Moved to F&H in AU 19 and I’m coming to the end of my 2nd lease and moving into a third(different unit). The move in process and application was fairly smooth. The walls are thin, this is true but isn’t too overbearing if your neighbors are respectful. Communities seems to be mostly working working professionals, small families(I rarely see young kids), and university students. Night owls and heavy steppers can make for a bad time but mostly okay. Not a huge issue with heating and cooling on the bottom floor and not much maintenance issues in my unit besides normal wear and tear. Maintenance is pretty decent and took proper precautions during pandemic, turn around time for low priority stuff is about a week. The utility switch from flat rate to sub-metering(gas, water, sewage)is a negative and the transition was not smooth but you’ll save a few bucks with proper usage.Mail access is decent, never had a package stolen from my front door, the property advertised package handling but never used.Parking is a free-for-all but can always find a close parking spot and there’s an overspill lot.Great access to bus lines, that run to OSU(15-20 minute ride), nearby grocery stores and to downtown Columbus. Walking distance to a vet, pharmacy and dentist if that’s your jam. They offer lower cost storage than the nearby storage company, also walking distance. Gym/clubhouse is key guarded(haven’t used either since pandemic started) and they’re both clean and efficient(last time I was in the gym the dumbbells were a little sketch .Chief complaints: the company doesn’t utilize electronic communication enough and relies on paper notes taped to the door to communicate important information, not great for people who travel for work or who may be away from home. Not a lot of enforcement for dog poop around the community, even though they provide doggie bags stations over the complex. It’s not uncommon to see dog poop everywhere.TL;DR: good place is you’re not a person who needs to lavish in luxuries like torches at the front gate, or a Starbucks coffee center in the clubhouse. Great access to bus lines and living essentials. Units have thin walls but isn’t unbearable with decent neighbors. Amenities are okay could use updating(heard they’re doing it). Units are obviously a little older with some reno done but the updated units are so good. Staff is good, no complaints yet. Will update review this after we switch units/ move out as needed.
Great management, and maintenance! Everyone is so quick if there is ever an issue or problem! We love it here!!
Nice apartments tucked a bit back from the road within 5 minutes of everything you could need. The maintenance staff and Heather at the office have always been very kind and helpful whenever issues arise and have addressed them promptly. Facility is very pet friendly which is a big bonus for me.
Cant praise the office staff highly enough, they go above and beyond!
I lived there in my early 20’s, so 11 years ago. It definitely didn’t have the look it apparently has now so, good work! I definitely caused a ruckus having parties and all of us sneaking into the pool & hot tub to skinny dip and have drunk fun, with cops showing up and jumping the fences. Oh the memories. I moved back home to Oregon. I was reminiscing about the place and decided to look it up, I’m impressed with the new look! Had to write review.
Pros--Overall the interior of the apartment is updated and high quality-Nice area of town with everything you need in close proximity.-Close drive/Uber to campus-Very clean when moved into the unitCons:-Put in multiple requests and phone calls to fix air conditioning. Luckily it was at the end of the lease so we didn’t have to live in the 90 degree heat for too many days.- Downstairs apartment was rented as an AirBnb and had loud tenants. Loud parties were thrown during the weekday and weekend.- Neighbors would smoke in their apartments and the smell of smoke would linger into our apartment
This is a great community. There was a horrible paint job ( didnt paint the full walls and paint on floor Cabinets and fan.) There was scratches and dents in my fridge when I moved in. Extremely loud fan in bathroom. Other than that this is a great place. Its close to train tracks but not many go by. I thought gym theater and game room where open anytime but only 9am-6pm everyday. Glad Im here andLooking forward to having a great year.
The maintenance man and the people in a professional manner I like but the apartments Im very disappointed with I have been living here since October and I have had a consistent water problem my toilet backing up into my bathtub my kitchen sink leaking underneath still not fixed I put in a work order in October no one still has never came out the painting 😡 Im a professional painter and its embarrassing when friends and family come cuz the paint job in my house is so bad its embarrassing Im very upset with the apartments its like they just dont want to put money into them 100% not apartments I would recommend I rather rent a house on the hilltop
The kitchen is beautiful. Every aspect of this apartment has met every expectation plus more. The community has shown nothing but love and I dont see myself anywhere else for the next 5 plus years.
Great apartments to live in! Nice quiet area and the best thing for me is the pool! My neighbors are great and the staff is always helpful. If I have an emergency the maintenance team is always there to help.
Horrible communication takes days to get a response about an application. Save the headache!
Living here has not been the experience I had hoped for. My apartment required a radon mitigation system to be installed while I was not home, leaving a large pipe running through my bedroom. Communication from management about that topic was not great, and they would not disclose the levels of radon that they found within the apartment. It was also discovered that I did not have an air filter in my apartment after living there for more than a year, so they just bent an oversized one and stuck it in my air system. I also had the hot water tank in the unit above me break open, resulting in water plummeting from my ceiling into my apartment. The storage rack in my closet fell- breaking my furniture beneath it. My ceiling ALSO caved in from water damage, and needed to be partially replaced. The apartment floods when it rains, attracting bugs. Not what I expected when I moved in.
Whatever you do DO NOT move into here. This complex just got new owners and the staff is awful, they have been very rude every time I’ve had to contact them. My AC is broken so when I cook (gas oven) it becomes 80 degrees real quick it could only be in the mid 60s outside and I’d leave my ac running nonstop and it still didnt get below 72 until the temp outside when down to the 50s. I emailed them to see what they could do to help and they said they aren’t fixing units right now and to “open a window.” Not to mention the units are run down and WAY overpriced. You can find a much better place with kinder staff for cheaper literally anywhere else.
There have been several ongoing issues, but otherwise as a first time place, this has been great to stay in. I like all of the office staff and the maintenance crew
Love it here moved in 2 weeks ago and it’s been a dream ever since
I am so excited to move here in May! When I took the tour I instantly felt at home! I was shown a unit specifically for dogs it was even decorated with dog stuff. As a groomer dogs are my entire life and finding a location so dog friendly was very important to me! My friend Taylor hooked me up with Al Harvey’s contact info. Al Harvey is an all around amazing guy to work with! He is so welcoming and found me the right place that fits my budget! I love him & The Fox and Hound Community!
Myself and two others lived at Fox and Hounds from 2018-2019. The majority of the year there was fine, serviceable but nothing special. Though partway through our time there the apartment complex was sold, and new owners took over. After this maintenance especially became near impossible to get done, often we waited weeks to even hear back on issues, calling back multiple times. But none of that is why I am writing this review. I am writing this review because of what it was like to move out of Fox and Hounds. Almost two months after we moved out, they send us an exorbitant move out bill totally nearly $500 for replacing all the carpet, including carpet in a room that never had a pet in it, and had no damage, something they dont contest. They insist that they had to do so to keep them all the same, but yet in the same conversation they admitted by accident when they mistook me for someone else that another tenant has an outstanding bill for barely $200 for replacing only some of the carpet, thereby proving they only replaced all the carpet because they knew they could get away with charging us for it.But the bill and the carpet arent the biggest issue. The BIGGEST issue is that they send us the letter, with no mention in the letter of how to pay the bill. Our login doesnt work anymore to the tenant portal. We call, no one answers. We leave messages, no one calls us back. We send emails, we send messages via the mechanism on their website and no one ever responds to us. We swing by the office multiple times and no one is ever there in the middle of the day.Fast forward months to now, were getting harassed by debt collectors (which is now dinging our credit, during an economic recession and pandemic where were partially on unemployment mind you) and so I have had enough. I am usually very patient and level headed, but I swing by and finally someone is there! We have a long conversation where I outline all of this. They ignore and dont respond to my comments that they never gave information in the letter on how to pay, they blame the phone issues on technological issues on my end, insisting they are always there. Now I understand its no one persons fault and am/was careful to make it clear I blame no one particular person in their office. Hence the review, because the issue is clearly systemic with how they handle their business. So if youre seriously considering Fox and Hounds because of the newer kitchens, the islands, the carpet? And theyre offering it all with no deposit or down payment? Consider how those things get paid for, and what theyll charge you when you move out. We were fairly meticulous with cleaning our carpet, with scrubbing down things immediately and never letting stains set- but even I can admit that sure, maybe one room needed new carpet. But ripping everything out and charging us $500 for all the carpet, even carpet that never had a single stain because the pets were never even in the room. I would encourage people to read this, understand its not coming from an emotional place, but a place of cool logic and consider looking elsewhere. There are well priced duplexes in the Columbus area nearby for less a month that are rented out by individuals, not organizations who wont answer the phone. Fox and Hounds will gaslight you, ignore you, and blame you for their indifference.Another example of the need for rent control and renter protections. If youve reached the end of this review, thank you and have a nice day.
Units are okay but they try to pressure you into signing the lease before viewing the apartment. If you’re lucky enough to view before signing I urge you to take a closer look at the walls and outlets and such and don’t get distracted by the shiny appliances. We also had a first floor unit originally that developed mold a month after living there. The maintenance guy said the issue was that the rain was accumulating by the window because of the gutter even though the gutter wasn’t near the spot so they clearly had a foundation leak. They fixed this problem by spraying mold killer and that’s it. A week later the whole unit flooded from a storm which isn’t their fault except they had no one on site to help the people that lost their homes. When they showed up the next day at noon Al told me to rent a hotel room for the next couple days because they wouldn’t have a unit available til then so I did. A few hours later I call the office and they say they won’t be paying for the hotel because they magically found a unit that I could move into that day. I saw a paper on their desk saying the previous tenant moved out the day before. So I lost a couple hundred dollars through the hotel reservation but they didn’t care because they just filled a new unit. This didn’t happen to just me but everyone that was affected by the flood which I know were at least four other units. They need to quit renovating the apartments and renovate management. I recommend looking elsewhere because it’s not worth the headache.
Fox and Hounds is a good place to reside for college students and young adults. It’s in a very convenient location with plenty of shopping plazas to fulfill pretty much all the needs you may have. Working with the staff is a luxury in itself, as they are very quick to respond to concerns. Al, specifically is my guy, very nice gentleman looking to help you resolve any issue you may have quickly! The only issue I have with the place is the maintenance around the complex could be more firm, other than no complaints.
We have been staying in the Fox & Hounds Apartments for about 2 years. It is a well maintained society, good club house and a big dog park. Mr. Al Harvey and his team are very prompt in addressing issues. The apartments are recently renovated, proving a modern kitchen with gas stove as well as a brand new washer and dryer units.
I wrote to them after my visit, that I re-explained my needs repeatedly because they never actually paid attention, that my host was speeding through the community, that the unit I viewed was only accessible through a cloud of pot smoke (which didnt matter much because I told her private entrance is a must), and ultimately is a great place to live in youre 20 years old and your parents are paying for it because you have no job. But they never responded to it. Just like dismissing my requests, they never actually follow through.
Have loved living at fox and hounds ! Al at the leasing office is great! Everything here is top quality. Every morning when it snows theres salt on the stairs and that is so helpful for me. I would refer this place to everyone!
Fox and Hounds and Al Harvey, are extremely helpful and polite. They give you all the information that you need to make sure you’re making the correct decision by leasing with them. There are also a lot of great features as well!
I recently moved to Fox & Hounds Apartments, and I would like to thank the staff for working so hard to get me approved. The apartments are amazing, with stainless steel appliances, brand new washer and dryers, and spacious rooms. We have weekly events, like taco Tuesday, wine down Wednesday, furry friend Friday, and many more. The staff and community make it such a great experience. Could not recommend it more!
We have been living in this apartment for two years now and the experience has been nothing but excellent. The new Staff are friendly and responsive. The renovation looks very modern. The living room, kitchen and dining room is very spacious. The bedroom windows allow in a good amount of natural light and the bathrooms now have big mirrors and enough closet space. Overall Fox and Hounds seems less of an apartment to us and more of a home. The newly renovated clubhouse is packed with entertainment! Also every now and then the management hosts awesome parties for the tenants. The management takes their reputation very seriously and does a good job at keeping the tenants happy. The location is especially great for Ohio State students like me and my sister. Its a 10 minute drive and about 17 minute free COTA bus ride to campus. The bus stop is right outside the apartment complex which is very convenient. Id recommend it to anyone looking for a excellent apartment at a decent price in a good location.
I was searching for Apartments to live in for a few months until my lease was up. Decided on Fox and Hounds and I couldnt be happier. So conveniently located, close to work and anything else you could want. Updated appliances, nice, clean look. Al Harvey has been the man to talk too. Hes really kind and personable, see him if you need anything. All of the staff have been a pleasure. No complaints from me!
New staff seems great! Very pleasant community. Definitely would recommend to a friend.
Absolutely loved our stay since last one and half year. The kitchen area is very spacious and have all brand new appliances. The community is so quite. The leasing manager Mr.AI Harvey is so prompt and very cooperative always.
Slightly convenient. Lack of extermination for ants and spiders.
Have loved the apartment since we have moved here. However, two months into my lease I received a phone call from a female staff member while on vacation telling us that our apartment smells like smoke. We haven’t been home in 6 days so this makes no sense. Did they call my surrounding neighbors with this accusation too? This is not the first time this particular staff member has been rude, but the rest of the staff, especially Al, have been very considerate and easy to work with. Overall great experience besides these few interactions. Clean, updated and homey.
You hear a lot of great things about Al, but has anyone ever wondered why not anybody else? what about Laura or Jen? Well thats because theyre...not very pleasant. I never got the chance to actually move in and although they scammed me out of $99, its really a blessing in disguise. The apartment was underwhelming compared to the clubhouse but I figured Id go for it. After putting my deposit of $99 down (which goes towards your security deposit that is refundable--- or so I was told) I emailed and called Laura the next day that I no longer wished to move forward. Left a voicemail -- no call back.long story short, when I went back a couple days later and no longer wished to move forward, I was told by Laura that I was already assigned an apartment and that I was already approved. Then in the same conversation she said that I was not approved as my income wasnt verified. I was told I was approved and assigned an apartment the day I applied (which is DEFINITELY) a lie. Then I was told that the $99 is a holding fee that is non-refundable, yet NOT A SOUL at that property could provide me with a written document that stated that! Its not even listed on the application!Long story short, your income doesnt matter, your background check doesnt matter either. Just put down $99 and talk to Laura or Jen Young (shes a peach) and youll be instantly approved and assigned an apartment even before any of the information you put on you application is verified =).Crazy thing is, they said I was approved but refused to show me anything stating that and Jen admitted to keeping the deposit simply because I didnt want to live there when she got frustrated! Go figure! The application process is a pure scam lol
Apartment felt just like home. Al was extremely helpful and professional. Location is great, a lot of nice places around, felt very safe in this area. The apartment was clean, all necessities were there. Perfect for me I would totally recommend!
I love these apartments. Al Harvey is a wonderful leasing agent who takes care of his customers and is really great with my kids. The apartments themselves are beautiful and in a nice neighborhood with access to good schools. I would recommend this place to everyone
5-Star Update - Ive waited to see how the recent shift in management would shake out and am happy to report a return to form for Fox and Hounds. All of the pros I laid out in my older comments hold firm about and now the new management has made further renovations to the dog park, basketball courts, and the club house. All of the leasing staff are great and always go the extra step to address any issue or question. As a 3 yr resident at Fox and Hounds, I havent personally experienced a drastic change in my living situation since the recent change in management that many others have either praised or heavily critiqued. All of the same perks of this apartment complex have remained intact: it is a comfortable distance from the university, but is on COTA route 18, it features an excellent dog park and is very pet friendly, the complex is safe, clean, and well maintained, and all of my neighbors are friendly and courteous. The renovations that many other reviews have described have been underway since the beginning of summer and look to be continuing on into winter. There have been some complaints in other reviews about noise and about the construction crews, but again I havent personally experienced these issues. Our apartment was renovated not long ago and we are very happy with the newly designed apartment. The kitchen appliances in particular were in drastic need of an upgrade and I love our new oven/stove. Im a bit of a cook and the new oven and stove top are clean, well-made, and look great. The new management staff is friendly and Ive only had positive interactions with them. Overall, its proven to be a comfortable place to live and has remained that way so far.
Fox and Hounds is quickly becoming one of the best places to live in this area. I will admit that at first, I wasnt the happiest person around. However, the management team, and especially the front office team, including Al and Jen, have stepped up big time. Every issue I have had has been taken care of in 24 hours. They have so many resident events and appreciation offers ..Ive lost count. They are extremely pet friendly..and in the 2 BR units, I have yet to find a kitchen I like better. Theyve been sinking dollar after dollar into making this complex more and more desirable. After the last few months of only great experiences, I am confident that this is and will be a great place to live.
This has been probably the best and effortless experience Ive had moving to an apartment complex (Im military, so I move A LOT). I chose this complex over several in the area that were a little cheaper because of the superior customer service. The staff is very friendly and has promptly solved any issues that have come up since I moved in last month. Im definitely happy I chose Fox & Hound.
I came in 2 weeks ago found that there were bed bugs all in the apartment after I moved everything in then I went to complain and ask for compensation for the difficulty and all they had to say was it’s your fault and that there’s no chance they had bed bugs when clearly they had been there for a bit I can’t express how absurd this whole situation is and how horrible they are with communication 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Hate this place and don’t wish anyone would stay here
Was so excited to move into my first off campus home- now I almost wish I was still living on campus. Ive had maintenance men walk into my apartment accidentally more than once. I understand the process of renovation is not going to be all sunshine and rainbows, but for goodness sake, give the people who have to live here during that time cheaper rent or something to make up for it being a construction site. Its also hard to ignore the maintenance workers when they have a team meeting ON AND AROUND your car every morning. I have walked out to people SITTING on my car, and when I come out, it still does not phase them. I have literally started my car with someone sitting on it. - just plain unacceptable. I have also been late to work because trucks are blocking me in my spot.I have come home Friday nights after a long work week excited to sleep in Saturday- NOPE, theyve got other plans for you. Whether its the smoke coming through the vents from cigarettes or the blaring music from the repair men downstairs, they will make sure you are awake just as long as they are there (which if you havent caught on, is always- which might I add is uncomfortable.) We were promised a new pool deck, a new fitness center, everything before the season was over, and I have honestly yet to see much change. I love the area, dont get me wrong, but I will not be re-leasing. There are definitely nicer places out there for less. We should literally be refunded for a chunk of our lease each month.
Beautiful apartments and great people. Al Harvey helped me thought the process and made the work easy for me. I will recommend this place any time to anyone. Thanks again.
Decent renovations in the apartment. Brand new kitchen and living room and, of course, more rent. But I think its worthy. The people here are nice, but I hope they can increase their work efficiency. The renovation should be done within one week, it takes two weeks actually. Overall, I love living in a quiet environment like here.
Fox and hounds is one of the best apartments I have ever been too:) Everyone is super nice and willing to help. They have a pool, weight room, and game room. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs an apartment.
Don’t move in if you value privacy. There are inspections about it 1-2 times per month. This is not told to you upfront or included in the lease. It’s always something different. At first it just started as an “inspection”, now it’s for electrical, water, radon, etc. something new each week. They generally give 24 hours notice but not always. Might not seem like a big deal to some but for me it always happens on my days off of work so they disrupt your sleep or just rest. Please don’t rent from them unless you want random visitors a couple times a month.
Fox and Hounds is a great apartment complex. I am a student at the Ohio State University which makes the Fox and Hound an ideal commute for those who are looking to be apart of the campus community, but do not want to be fully indulged on campus. I worked with Al when I was apartment hunting and he sold me on the place with all the great deals and amenities they offer to their residents. Fox and Hounds isn’t the prettiest of places when looking at the exterior, but definitely a steal when we are looking at the inside of the home. Overall great community, friendly folks and staff. The only con I have is/are maintenance. They are kind of slow at fixing certain issues, but when they do come and fix the issue it is very quick and efficient. I would recommend calling to remind them on what you need done. No further complaints.
Move in recently. Apartment is great, Location is great, price is great. So much great. But nothing is as great as Al Harvey. My man Al helped me every step of the way from day one. If you check this place out (which you should) ask for Al. -- Tell them Panch sent you!
I went and viewed Fox and Hound on May 3rd and I worked with Ben. He was very knowledgeable of Fox and Hounds and provided great customer service. The whole staff was very friendly. I view the one bedroom apartment and I really loved it. The updated appliances are nice, especially the kitchen. Good job Ben, TJ, and Al.I did decide not to live here, I LOVE Canal Winchester so I will be going to that area. I do recommend Fox and Hounds for anyone looking for any reason. Its a beautiful area close to everything.
The place was amazing. The area is very diverse, apartment included everything to make you never want to leave. Al was very welcoming. 5 star recommendation.
I enjoyed living here, but they nickel and dime you wherever they can. I was charged $20 removal fee for food that I left in the refrigerator, even though I remembered a few minutes after checkout and removed them before we left the property. It was a nice place to live, but beware that they are out to get your money.
Fox and Hounds is a great location to live in Columbus! I take the #1 bus to campus and it is right outside of the apartment which is very helpful. The new upgrades to the kitchen looks great and it is very dog friendly!
Ive recently moved into Fox and Hound, and I couldnt be happier with my experience. My last residence left much to be desired. All of the staff are professional and charismatic, especially Al made the whole process as stress free as it could be. Ive looked around for a couple months and this is the place I chose to spend my money. The location is close to everything, so I go to new places every weekend if I wanted to. All of the amenities such as the on-site gym and pool are very well maintained. I would recommend this place to anyone who was looking for an apartment in the area.
Thanks to Al, I am in a lovely to die for apartment. The process was quick and he made it a lot smoother for me. I love my area and the features that comes with. Couldn’t be happier.
Ive been living at Fox and Hounds for two years and have largely enjoyed my stay at the Apartment Complex. They are very pet friendly, and after recent renovations have very nice amenities. The complex is in a good location, is safe, and the people here are friendly.Rent is expensive (the area itself is for the most part), and my interactions with management have all been well received. Construction is currently overwhelming, but after its completion I can see the neighborhood being very nice.
Needs improvement a lot of improvements, but Ms Jennifer was very nice and understanding I really liked her she’s calm. The management is not reliable but it’s a home. It was my first apartment in Ohio I relocated for work and the apartment interior is very nice. My first moved to Ohio and the people are friendly. Management just need to try to be more caring to the residents apart from that it’s not bad.
My roommate and I moved in here in August of 2018. Al helped us find the perfect place. We have loved every aspect of living here and don’t plan on moving. Al and the rest of the staff are always very helpful and willing to go the extra mile.
Al helped me out in a tough situation & it was very fast and easy! I move in November and I’m very excited and pleased with what this apartment complex has to offer ! Thank you Al you are awesome! Great customer service
Fox and Hounds has been an awesome and affordable place to live! Al is always the best and very helpful! Would definitely recommend!
I absolutely love our newly renovated apartment!!!! It is hands down the nicest apartment myself & my boyfriend have ever shared. The kitchen is gorgeous & the hardwood floors are beautiful. The office staff is always super helpful & friendly. Plus we have a dog and having a dog park in the complex is a huge plus. We have lived here for almost 2 years and were able to transfer to one of the newly renovated units & the office staff made the transition a very smooth & exciting process. We love it here ! Especially our new kitchen!
Great place to live and great people to live by. They offer a lot of free food and stuff on certain days and Al Harvey helps you out a lot. Never has been a problem always good vibes and a nice clubhouse with wifi.
Im very excited to move here! I have been living in Dayton for the past two years and wanted to move back to Columbus. My previous apartment was too expensive for me to afford on my own so I did some research and saw all the great reviews about this complex. I went in and was helped by Cody Kindle. He was fantastic, answered all of my questions right off the bat, showed me the one and two bedroom layouts because I couldnt decide which unit I wanted, and was very nice and personable. He also texted me after I had toward the apartment and let me know I could ask him questions at any time. I had so many questions because I like to double check things and he always answered my questions quickly. I greatly appreciate all the help and the complex is beautiful.
Great apartments! Great Prices. Kind and caring Staff. Al, the property manager is great with getting request done on time.
I looked for apartments around this area for about 2 months before deciding on fox and hounds. This place is by far the best. Our whole wing of the complex just got remodeled. Ask for Al, he was a great contact threw the whole process, even waived our pet deposit!
This place is great! I enjoy the apartment and the amenities are great is you don’t have a gym membership. Al is a great person to work with as is the whole fox and hounds team.
Great place, ask for Al he will hook you up. I have been here for the last 9 months and have loved it. Great location, clubhouse, and communication from staff.
Al Harvey is a helpful guy who provides great service. He always in a good mood and makes you feel welcome every time you walk in the door. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GUY!!
Great place to live and great people to live by. They offer a lot of free food and stuff on certain days and Al Harvey helps you out a lot. Never has been a problem always good vibes and a nice clubhouse with wifi.
I had put a 5 Star review but this place isn’t all that cracked up to be. I thought I could ignore the other reviews about how the office staff not really knowing much, but they don’t. We were told a price and come the day to sign the lease it was all of these hidden fees and double our budget for rent. They don’t really know what to tell possible renters. They tell you one thing and another says different
Erica and Aaron were totally amazing. I work in sales my self, and I was not an easy customer at all. Because of the reviews I was highly skeptical. Those leasing agents were beyond amazing not pushy at all. If you are looking for a place. Go to Fox and Hounds. At least for the service. I tried all the local apartment complex and they all have horrible attitude and service. We literally spent 2 hours with the agents and they were super professional and an over all amazing experience.
I have been a resident for a year and it has been a great experience. The staff is extremely hospitable and friendly. I love my newly renovated apartment. The amenities are awesome. It is a great place to live and great location. Overall it has been a great experience.
I heard complaints about this apartment complex before new management took over. The new staff is amazing--very friendly and professional. In particular, Cara helped me choose between apartments and answered my numerous questions patiently and with great knowledge. The renovations to the apartments are beautiful and the location is great. Throughly happy!
I see a lot of people complaining about problems on day one, etc. Me and my guys have several apartments here and none of us have had an issue. Our man AL Harvey got us taken care of and is the dude to see. If youre sensable, responsible, and have reasonable expectations you can live anywhere problem free. Fox and Hounds is definitely better than the other apartments nearby.
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MOVING HERE. The only reason this place is even getting one star is because I suppose the kitchen was nice. 1) when we toured the apartment we asked about their policy for breaking the lease (my boyfriend may have potentially had to move for his job) and we were told that we would have to pay 2 months rent upfront if we had to break the lease, but ultimately that we could. When the time came when we thought we would have to break the lease we were told that we were “mistaken” and were not allowed to break the lease at all (luckily we ended up not having to move). 2) Our washer was broken when we moved in and it took them over month to fix it. When we called the first time to see when it would get fixed, the manager said that she couldn’t prove we didn’t break it ourselves. Nice lady, really top notch. 3) They told us they would give 24 hour notice before entering the apartment for any reason. NEVER ONCE DID THAT HAPPEN. We came home on at least three separate occasions to a note saying they had entered. 4) We moved out a few weeks ago and about a week later we received a bill for $220. $200 for “pet damage” when we didn’t even have a pet (which could have been proved by all of their impromptu visits). However, we knew the charge was referring to a patch of carpet by the front door that was slightly torn up. Yet, this occurred because the heavy front door scraped against the carpet and caused wear and tear. Then the additional $20, which made us the most upset, was due to “general grime” when we spent hours cleaning that apartment and left it more than clean. We didn’t even bother fighting it, given our previous interactions with the staff. I even waited to write this until we paid the money, knowing that they would likely be petty enough to retaliate. And if anyone there is reading this, assuming anyone there gives a damn (which I highly doubt) Al was the only pleasant person we ever dealt with, so I guess thank you to him.
This would be an okay place to live if it werent WAY overpriced. Not to mention they had the nerve to charge me $50 for additional cleaning which is total bullshit since I cleaned the hell out of it before leaving. Also, it was impossible to keep the stink bugs out during the warmer months. The only positive I can say is they have a decent pool and gym. Overall, this place is definitely not worth the small fortune youll be paying to live here.
I have been a resident here for a few years now and Ive been through all the drama of the renovation. I am so happy the old management is gone. The new company that is here is great. I was talking with Cara in the office and she connected me with Matt, the new manager, and they helped me get everything settled that didnt get done with the last company. I am glad they now have a staff that cares.
Making a delivery to this apartment complex and all I know is that they didnt spend good money on the contractors use to do the upgradesNever seen so many standing around cigarette smoking alcoholic in one place and no alcohol being served....Upgrades No...Definitely not...Cover up patch work definitely...Pretty sure none of these guys are licensed to do the work their doingJust the guy that won the work bid....Best wishes to all that lease here.....U are definitely not getting what u are paying for thats for sure.
I could not be happier with these apartments. The clubhouse is beautiful and totally eliminates the need to go to the library printing, or go to the Y to swim, or go to the movies for movies, or got starbucks for coffee, or to the pool hall for pool, or Lifetime fitness for a gym. It eliminates the need to travel or spend money in so many ways during the Cold winter Al Harvey and the rest of the staff really know how to take care of their tenants
Its my turn to host movie night and I cannot wait for my friends to see my newly renovated apartment! The kitchen feels so open and inviting. I love the backsplash and the white granite counter tops. Its been fun to rearrange my belongings and I think it turned out cozy and beautiful.I decided to stay and live through the construction, and as stressful and challenging as it was it was, it was so well worth it. The neighborhood is quiet and very friendly. I had never even known my neighbors had dogs until Ive seen them walking them.Im happy to call this my home. I have a feeling I will be hosting movie night from now on!
The move in process was simple and fast. There were a handful of communication issues in the beginning but now all have been resolved. The new renovations are really nice and I would most likely recommend to a friend if they are looking for a place to live.
