I have been working out on and off for more than 45 years in various gyms in several states.This is the only place I would highly recommend. Its economical, extremely clean, well maintained and a plethora of equipment and weights. However what I appreciate is the harmonious atmosphere of non-judgemental vibe.

Called to cancel twice because I moved out of state, never cancelled, charged my account still, when I called asking for specific details woman told me to send letter to address and google it, yes for the location that SHE is at. I used to work in retail and it was never that hard to read the address to a concerned customer whose still being CHARGED. When I asked her for her name so I can notate my letter she hung up on me. Called back immediately and a man answered and asked me for my name and information when I just asked for the name of the lady I had just spoken to. Now I’m going to corporate and BBB.

It’s a nice environment. People are nice and helpful. I’m at ease there. I am coming back to the gym after a hip injury and have gained some weight with that and being a remote worker since COVID-19. So to be comfortable is important to me. Thank you.

Really enjoy the state of art well kept new and clean equipment. It is inexpensive yet has great quality and professional. Friendly low key atmosphere.i come in and enjoy doing my own thing at my own pace.there r classes i can sign up for and a free personal trainer too if i want/ need!

Its a great gym. I would have given a five if the equipment was a little bit more upgraded like Ive seen in other PFs.

I prefer to visit this gym after 9:30 pm because there are fewer people in the building. This way I can get in, workout and get out.

Staff is great here. Mr Ham took the time to show me, and my daughter some equipment that would help strengthen our arms and abdomen. We felt comfortable, and didn’t feel like anyone was judging us.

Love the gym. Staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the showers are small especially when compared to Dutch Square facility.

Actually I forgot to bring mask today 2:40pm and sometime i use to get from the front desk but today the gentleman(I won’t mention his name) didn’t give me and he said he got mask only for next shift staffs also he not letting me inside to workout!! Then I went to dollar general to get a mask and came back to workout...I accept everything and I’ll take it as my mistake but the thing is inside the gym almost half the people’s are not wearing the mask and no one is following social distancing if you want know see the cameras !! I asked reason to the gentleman and he said only to come in we need mask not to required to do workout and all...my question is for what they’re following this rules? What logic in that??If you want us to follow the sanitation rules you guys must be follow up!!

I exercised in a friendly, clean, safe environment that was inviting enough for me to invite my friends. Planet Fitness employees, are patient and helpful which meets the Wellness training guidelines....

I like to give credit where it’s due. I’ve been to multiple locations in Houston, TX, Austin, Illinois and in or near Atlanta. This location is the best. It has the largest variety of machines I’ve seen (& plenty of each), it’s clean, updated and the staff is great. I was most impressed with the shower area since I often hit the gym right before work. The double stalls that allow you to disrobe before entering the shower without being exposed, made my normally arduous routine so much simpler and faster. I can tell that a lot of thought went into designing this gym and I am very appreciative. Great work guys!

Just got a membership. My galsays its dark in there. Maybe we can find one not so dark

This is not my home gym my boyfriend and I came up to South Carolina for work well I want to tan now I’ve already been here for at least an hr. And as I stand here now and have for the lasy 15 mins and the guy still isn’t here

Would mind a friendlier staff and stocked hand sanitizer/ soap / paper towels.

This gym is extremely clean and has very new equipment. It also is very large and provides plenty of room for all occupants to work out and maintain social distancing. I love the 30-minute express workout!

As a blackcard member, I visit alot of different clubs in my travels. Tonight I met an exceptional planet fitness employee by the name of Joshua.He was busy the entire time I was at the gym. He was all over the gym cleaning and organizing equipment. Spray bottles were made available in locker rooms by Joshua so members could easily spray showers and as I was leaving he didnt hesitate to wish me a goodnight.I really hope the franchise owner recognizethe efforts of this young man, I didnt hesitate to thank him for providing a clean environment for members who workout at this locationThank you Joshua 👍

We recently moved to the area and this was our first time at this location. Great equipment, plenty of space clean and friendly!!! I will be making this my home location!!!

This gym is GREAT. even at the busiest times, theres plenty of space for everyone to stay apart but get a workout in.I had an issue with a man staring at me and other women, the staff and manager made a point to not only handle it well and ban the offender, but talked to me afterwards. They take that kind of issue very seriously here, and it has made me feel very safe working out here.Queen, the trainer here, is awesome. She took the time to show me what to focus on for my workouts, how to use the machines, etc. I see her every time I go now, and shes so encouraging.The hydromassage is sooo nice after a hard workout. Theres lot of different settings and adjustments, as well as games, books and music to keep you busy during it.I signed up for the Black Card due to a promotion, and i definitely do NOT regret it. I use it every time I come- whether its the hydromassage, the guest pass, using other locations, etc it has been a great deal that is worth the cost.Overall, I definitely recommend this gym to anyone! Great staff, good machines, good client base, good all around.

This is a great Gym. The facilities are second to none. The sanitation efforts are unbelievable and I feel very safe working out in the environment they have created. There is adequate room for everyone to socially distance and get a good workout.

Clean, not overly crowded.Showers are awesome. It has a derobing area in front of the shower. Kudos to the designer.

Beautiful showers! So clean and they are the only ones that offer sanitary supplies such as lysol for the showers and disinfectants. The front desk people were so polite and helpful the parking lot was huge and they seem to be awesome

Ive noticed they dont have hand sanitizer at the cleaning stations as before. When compared to other ones(PF) in the area, Ive noticed they have taken the least amount of precautions during COVID.

I liked them until they started requiring face masks while working out. I did a lot of cardio stuff so that makes it difficult to get proper oxygen amounts. I had to stop going and change gyms which doesn’t require masks while working out and practices social distancing to prevent issues

Great low cost big box gym with friendly staff. Equipment appears to be well taken care of and Covid precautions are in place and followed. Im usually a local gym guy and tend to be what PF refers to as a lunk but have had no problems here thus far. Happy to endorse this location!

I go at night it’s very chilled and clean

This location does not have the arc trainer model that I prefer although it did look like they had a wide variety of equipment. Masks are to be worn when entering gym, which I think is great and made me feel comfortable. For some reason, guy at front desk pointed out that I had an overdue balance even though my home gym in NYC is still closed due to virus, so I thought that was a bit rude. He cannot see the balance or anything or give me any additional information, but my membership Is active, so I’m not sure what the purpose of that exchange was about and I’m not certain that they are friendly to black card members. Seemed like there was a lot of space and facility looked clean, location is a bit shady.

Great workout place to go

The weekday staff are very unfriendly. I’ve never seen them cleaning or disinfecting any of the equipment. Today when I was there, the paper towel dispensers were empty while 3 staff members stood around talking.In comparison, the facilities downtown and in Lexington are far superior. It’s to the point where I’d rather travel miles out of my way than to go to the gym just down the road.

Don’t plan to come here, it’s 8:30 am when they open at 5 and the staff doesn’t know how to open the gym apparently.

Why is this location never opened on time. It says is 24hrs and yet its never open. 1

The gym is extremely clean. Its large and the equipment/hydro beds are well spaced, so you dont feel cramped. There are numerous TVs which is nice because sometimes i forget my headphones! I love the treadmills and the 30 minute express workout area.

Needs SERIOUS improvement!!I travel, I go to PFs all over the state.This one ranks a 2* (40%)Located on the backside of what I call SAD MALL - Behind what looks like an abandoned Nordstroms1) No attendant at front desk, 5 people milling around waiting.2) Showers are in disgusting condition.2a) Handicapped one is out of order with a janitor mop&bucket in its place.Im going to take a guess and say this is a violation of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act)2b) Mop is ironic since the stall next to it hasnt been cleaned in AT LEAST a week...my first thought was ATHLETES FOOT.Someones old hairy soap on the corner shelf. Hairs all over, thought it was a Kardashian bathroom.2c) Water pressure was less than the sprayer in your kitchen sink - wait for the flush of a toilet, drops 25% lower. And the handle is all wobbly.2d) The place hasnt been painted or repaired for a while now - the gym is supposedly open 24hrs a day...what does the staff DO???YOU GOT TIME, SCRUB IT DOWN, FIX IT, CALL A PLUMBER.No lunks? No grunting?There was a guy in the shower next to me who grunted on every breath - weird!Based on Jared S comment, theyre moving soon...which explains the apathy in current facility condition.Is that the PRE-REGISTERING facility closer to town? ... They should take a tour of this location and see what they think before signing up.WiFi sucks too!Why pay for wifi if it wont connect??Pay shxt wages, get shxt employees.

The management for the Planet Fitness in the Sc area deliberately created an account for my wife that she didn’t sign up for. They billed us over $200 and refuse to issue a credit because “of a corporate policy”. Don’t go here. They will lie to you and cheat you. The worst most unethical gym around.

I’ve been a member since 1/14/16. I’ve never had any real issues and for the most part loved the gym as well as the associates. But for some reason seems lately that the manager has been targeting me for the most petty reasons. One instance I had a curl bar on its side and he made it a point to go out of his way to come over to me and tell me not to do this because it could danger other members and I tried to explain the only reason I did stand it up was because the floor is uneven and it rolls when I lay it down, which I assumed would be a greater danger to members to have a metal bar that rolls in the middle of the floor. But I let it go. So today 10/6/2020. I came with a shirt I’ve been wearing since 2016. The manager stopped me and asked do I have another shirt to wear? It caught me off guard because I’ve been wearing this shirt since 2016. And the reason I know I have been wearing this shirt is because I have photo evidence of me wearing it at the previous location before they moved next door. I said yes and proceeded to ask why the shirt was a problem 4 years later? He said they don’t allow shirts that display your open chest. So I went outside and put on another shirt and upon retry I proceeded to ask why this is an issue now? The TRAINER(not the same person who brought up this concern) kindly explained to me that they don’t allow shirts that allow nipples to be shown. Now this is not the explanation he gave, he just said they don’t allow exposed chest. Now this shirt does not display my nipples. Today I had a backpack on and it made my shirt display my chest upon walking in. So I agreed with the information I was given but I also addressed my concerns about this hopefully not being targeted individual issue. So I continued to work out and noticed a gym member with a similar shirt. I asked him did the manager say anything to him about his shirt, he said not at all. So I then saw another member who had even less of a shirt. I proceeded to ask him the same question and even showed him the shirt I was going to wear. He laughed in disbelief and claimed that he wears shirts with less cover than that. I also talked to an associate, who claimed they didn’t understand the issue either, because I always wear that shirt and they always see me in the shirt. While writing this I asked another member who I spotted in the parking lot who has his nipples FULLY exposed, has he ever wore that shirt before? He answered yes. I asked him has anyone ever asked him to wear another shirt, he answered no. Me now realizing that this must be some type of targeting exercise, I have no other choice but to cancel my membership. I refuse to give my money to a company that picks and chooses the rules as they see fit or should I say as management sees fit. I’ve worn this shirt since 2016 and today it’s a problem. Someone suggested that I wear it when he’s not there or just change once I get into the locker room, but I don’t pay a monthly/annual fee to be hiding from a desk dictator. It’s sad that this is what ends our relationship/business because all the other associates are really great but I refuse to let someone pick and choose the rules, they want me to follow and not mandate them to anyone else. My problem is not the rule itself(even though my shirt didn’t qualify for per explanation I was given) my problem is it’s not equally being distributed throughout the gym. They say we ALL must wear mask while walking around the gym. And so, I wear my mask. But you can’t pick me out and say what I’m wearing is inappropriate and at least three others that day had similar attire and even stated it was never even mentioned it to them at all. This is supposed to a judgment free-zone but why am the only who was addressed for my attire? If what I had on, was in fact inappropriate, why wasn’t it inappropriate in 2016,2017,2018,2019 and now with three months left in 2020 it’s now a problem. I recommended this gym to so many people throughout these almost five years but now I know I cant anymore.

I enjoy all the time I spend here. It’s been my partner in losing weight and feeling better. I go almost every day. It’s always been very clean. Long before being clean was a big thing. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s a huge gym so you never have to wait for equipment. And like their ads say—everyone is welcome. If you think you’re too weak—too big— too out of shape—you can start a new life of healthy living here and feel right at home. JOIN US! It’s FUN!!

One of my favorite places in Columbia. Friendly staff, updated machines, and I rarely, if ever, have to wait on a workout station.

Friendly staff in a judgement free zone. Cleaned often with cleaning supplies well stocked and mask protocol is adhered to. Altogether am glad to be back at the gym and glad its Planet Fitness

The staff is always friendly and very helpful. Planet Fitness has taken the pandemic and its precautions serious, but with skillful marketing and attention to detail they have made it fun and Cleansiderate in its marketing approach. Everyone is looking for a sense of normal, and physical activity and working out is not only a great stress reliever, but it also gives members a chance to see life, to share in weight loss or weight gain (in my case, muscle mass), and more importantly see others striving to accomplish goals and celebrate victories even in the times of trouble and uncertainty.Sanitation stations are always fully stocked and the return to 24 hours operation is a welcomed sight for those of us that like to work out at odd times, or when we can feel more secure in this pandemic.Kudos for your dedication to sound business practices, and give your marketing department a raise!

Really great gym! They’ve kept it incredibly clean and there’s always a cleaning station a few feet away. There’s tons of machines available as well!

Dont be fooled by any deals that this gym has. They tell you that it is only ten a month to go to this gym, but there is a hidden annual fee that they hide in the fine print.

David Cuntz is very rude and unprofessional. He followed me into the locker room to confront me as well. This guy should not be in any customer or client environment!

The place is as clean as can be, its warm and inviting on the inside and plenty of tvs to keep you busy. Never met anyone unfriendly between the patrons and the crew, but I especially want to acknowledge staff member Riley. Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership due to work dominating my time, but he he was energetic, fun, and balanced getting me handled and guiding multiple other customers along without making me feel shunned. No guilt trip for canceling and it was ultimately a less than five minute process. Thank you Riley and PF, I hope to return when life suits the situation a little better!

Super clean, plenty of equipment so easy to social distance! Employees are professional, attentive, & just plain kind/nice! I also 😍 that theyre open 24/5, just shorter hours on weekends due to COVID19. **Also accepts insurance pmts, my Medicare Advantage Humana PAYS FOR MY MEMBERSHIP!!!I chose Planet Fitness based on 24/5 availability, COVID protocols, access to large variety & quantity of equipment! (I chose to upgrade a level for unlimited: use of other locations, bring a guest along, & use of tanning beds..less than $15/mo cost to me!) Super kind, friendly yet professional Asst Manager (I think) was patient to answer all my questions & actually listen to me talk! Facility was super clean, witnessed pandemic cleaning protocols & tried a stand-up tanning bed for the 1st time (was easy to use even without my glasses, I really liked that it had voice assist to walk me through my whole session! I havent been in any type tanning bed in years, but my depression getting bad & running out of viable options - and the beds are so much better now!) I made a free appt with a trainer to go over my goals & issues before she helps set me up a program to best reach said goals. Really looking forward to starting on losing this extra 75 pounds for good!

The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. There is never a shortage of workout equipment. Seldom will you find an inoperable machine; if you do the staff will fix it immediately. If you need assistance the staff will come to your assistance.

Absolutely no judgement here! Its a great and convenient place to go and workout at any time of day any day of the week! The machines have easy-to-read instructions if your not sure how to work a specific machine, and there is always someone there to help if you need it! I love going to this Gym, Planet Fitness is amazing!

I came in today to cancel my membership. Ive been a member there I think close to 2 years now. Ive had a few issues here and there but never that important to make a complaint. I would say Ive always been a content customer with them until today. Today as I canceled set a mood and a decision that I will never return as a member in the future due to unprofessionalism by an employee. As I was canceling my membership, I had an employee there call me Petey. I do not know this gentlemen nor have I ever had a conversation with him for him to be giving me nicknames. I have worked in customer service as a hairstylist, server and with insurance. I have 11 years of experience with customers never in my life would I ever give a customer a nick name of any sort as that. I would call them by their first name or by Ms. and their last name. I feel completely disrespected. My advice would be for Planet Fitness is to teach your employees the proper greetings and goodbyes to their customers or you will lose a lot of customers.

Upset they took the scale out of the bathroom. It was convenient to be able to weigh myself from time to time.

I attend the Dutch Square PF which I enjoy. When you walk in KiAndre greets you with a great smile. There is plenty of machines & big variety of fitness machine.

Im glad the Planet is open again and they are doing their best to keep thing very sanitized and clean.

Love this PF. Its clean, easy to see when driving by so you know exactly where it is. The staff is great with answering questions and takes care of any concerns I may have. Thank you Planet Fitness!

Its a great gym. The new location offers plenty of space and options. I would like some afternoon classes and weekend ( not sure if planet fitness has branched into all that yet.). other than that its great!

Rude front desk staff....very unsanitary.....scales are always broken......and they keep taking your money even after you request to cancel.....this gym makes me never want to rejoin the planet fitness brand......i give them 5 thumbs down

The facility is always neat and clean and I never feel like its over crowded when I go there the equipment is always clean and everything works as it supposed to.

Great gym. They moved to a different location around a year ago, and it’s big and has tons of stuff. The staff is courteous and friendly. I’ve only ever had one complaint; I left it on a survey they sent out, and within 24 hours I got an actual phone call from them telling me they were remedying it. Highly recommended, especially if you live nearby.

Have adequate equipment and water fountains to refill water. Downside is always come at a decent time because people sit at the free weights location forever (as always). So not after 4pm on work days and peak weekend time

The convent location is a plus for me, a nice amount of equipment for cardio workouts. I normally go later if Im doing any free weights. The staff seems nice and helpful but Ive never really spoken to them, and its very clean for a gym.

Clean and good attentive staff

Huge gym with two rows of TVs that you can see from everywhere in the gym. There are so many machines, you will almost always find what you are looking for open. The patrons and staff are always friendly and keep the place clean and organized.

Its very comforting watching the staff actually cleaning the equipment.

Planet fitness rocks

Not the best Planet Fitness I have been to. When I went to the hydro massage room I walked in to find a man sleeping in the chair. That was not the best feeling. I reported it to the staff who asked the man to leave. I was provided a different room while they cleaned it. My biggest concern is that those areas are not monitored.

Glad to see this gym has a new location......used to be tiny....congratulations!!

Its ok missing a few things others have staff is cool however its not always clean or restocked in the bathroom and if you ask no one will make a move to stock it or clean it. Even offered to do it myself when I noticed they were understaffed on a Saturday.

Even with it being a small gym, it is a great gym. The employees are so friendly and always great you with a smile. I had an issue where another member blocked my car door and Tyler, an employee of planet fitness for my car out for me. He didnt gripe or complain, he actually was very nice the entire time. I appreciate great customer service and that is what I am always given everytime I go to planet fitness at Dutch square. I appreciate them for being so helpful and polite.

All staff have been very nice and welcoming. Who cares about size? You can only work out in one area at a time. The staff must have a schedule for cleaning, as most times Im there, they are going around cleaning or checking their facility. The only thing that would help, is instructions on how to get the machines to the televisions. Also, the showers are small. Most men do not care about one big shower, unless yall are back to worrying about size again? Ha! Good job, overall, Dutch Square.

Doesnt match any of the Planet Fitness facilities in the RDU. Needs an overhaul on professional customer service and environmental compliance activities outside of routine hours.

Very friendly staff and a big spacious place to workout with plenty of equipment. It does tend to get a little crowded around rush hour in the evening Mon-Thurs, but it’s not difficult to still get your workout in during those times.

Great place to go. The facility is typically clean and well organized. Occasionally you’ll find a rude individual (patron) who’ll talk endlessly on their phone, despite several postings to keep phone conversations in the lobby. Can get busy around 4-6pm, but they’re moving to a larger space soon which should help. Staff is friendly and even greets me by name.

My experience here has been great friendly helpful staff, place is clean and well kept. No issues since I been with Planet Fitness in the last 4yrs and the pricing fits my budget.

Much better now that they are in the bells old building. I wish they would replace the heel cups for the all machines. Clean nice amenities for black cats members. Just watch what time you go, gets busy between 6 and 7

Better to go between 9am -2pm to avoid the crowds. Just a typical woman trying to workout, I daily deal with harassment from black men at this location. Membership canceled.

Inflexible and poor customer service!!! I will never return as a customer. cancelled service 2 months ago and found that account was never cancelled after all. Frankie the GM refused to honor the cancel date and refund me any money. The evidence was clear and he decided to ignore my account, notes from employee on my account when I cancelled and decided his iron clad contract and the extra $40 was worth more than the negative pub and lost customer for life. Thank you Frankie for making my future gym membership decisions that much easier.

This location has improved since I was last a member (about a year ago). Im glad to return. They open right on-time now and have courteous staff.I wish they had at least a few kettle bells... but they do have a fairly nice layout and you cant beat the price.
