I was recommended this place by doug at fresh designs. I love it . Dont bother with the porsche dealership unless your under warranty. Benchmark has saved me alot of money by being honest with me and not give me the porsche tax. They are always very professional and upfront with the costs. I will continue to take my cayenne here as long as I own it.
Called into make an appointment for tire balance, rotation and 4-wheel alignment for a BMW X3 and was scheduled in the next day morning. Dropped off at 9am and the prescribed work was completed by noon. During dropoff Dan was very kind to give me a ride back home. They called me when the work was completed. During pickup they explained in detail the results of the work and the price was reasonable. They were friendly and professional. Highly recommended.
Was told to bring my vehicle in on a specific day so they could take a look at it the following morning. Called to confirm before towing and they said that I would have to wait an additional week now. Dont know if they do good work but communication and reliability is a one star.
So many places would not evacuate my ac, and this was the only place that would do it. I planned on fixing the ac myself so I only needed refrigerant sucked out. I called them and they took me right away. The service was about 20 minutes and the customer service was outstanding. If I ever need any work done, I will not hesitate to return!

Danny and the entire Benchmark team continue to provide excellent work at a great value. They cared for my 2005 BMW 330i for years and today our 2006 Saab 9-3 is running better than she has in years thanks to their diagnosis and repair. Other shops had quoted us $3000.00 and up but Danny returned it running perfectly for a fraction of that. Highly recommend Benchmark for all of your automotive maintenance needs.
I brought my SUV in for an oil change and bulb replacement. The mechanic, Stuart, claimed he replaced the bulb but could not reset the warning light. I thought this was odd but assumed it would reset in a hour or so. Later that night I check and the light bulb still did not work. This would explain why the warning light would not reset. After paying for the repairs, I drove about 20 yards and hear a strange sound coming from under my vehicle. I immediately returned to the shop and told them about the sound. Stuart said he would look at it. He returned and said a part that connects the skid plates had broken. There was no mention of a broken part when I paid for the repair nor was there any info about this part included on my receipt. If a mechanic has problems performing simple repairs, I have little confidence they can satisfactory complete more complex repairs. I would avoid this repair shop.
Fantastic customer service. As a new customer, formerly taking my car to the dealership, the Benchmark team was able to save me several thousand dollars over the repair quoted by the dealer. They actually found the correct root of the problem, which was based in fixing several points where oil was leaking into the electrical system while restoring (rather than replacing) costly electrical components. Car runs great and now I will keep it and bring it to Benchmark for here on out. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Kevin kept me up to date on progress every step of the way.

I broke my passenger side mirror. I called the local dealership and they told me that it would cost me $400-$1000 to repair. I called Benchmark they told me that they’d call one of their sources and get back to me. They called the very next day and told me It would cost $92.00. It was in in a couple of days. I went in to have it fixed and Danny the owner came out and repaired it himself. Plus he touched up the scratch in my mirror. Call Benchmark for any of your repair or maintenance needs.

Two years later and 30,000 milesand no problems! Benchmark provides excellence service for my 2002 BMW M-3, 2006 BMW 325Iand a 2008 Honda Element! Also an Audi we sold! Good work done on my car. Lack of follow up with communication led to poor customer service. Very nice folks and set a good first impression, including meeting the owner. I had a lot of work performed on my BMW for almost a week and paid A LOT of money. However the status updates were lacking even when promised Id get a phone call. And then they lost my car key to another customer and despite promising to get me a new key ASAP, they took too long to get it back to me, again with no status updates. I had to call them to get updates. Im giving them 3 stars instead of 2 because they were nice enough to fix an issue in the repair area for no charge.

As always, over the past 10 years, Benchmark Motors has exceeded expectations. They have dutifully worked on my classic ‘88 MB560SL numerous times as well as two Lexus’. Always knowledgeable, pleasant and talented.....traits often not found in such establishments. Facility is great and waiting area is clean, comfortable and provides coffee. My sons 2003 MB C240 had an annoying issue: Windshield wipers continued to run. Had to take out a fuse to disable the wipers during a dry day and put it back when raining. Checked and found no issues with wiper motor, rain sensor and hood sensor. Followed suggestion online and replaced the combination switch. It did not help. Greg developed a simple and elegant solution. Problem solved. If he charged by the minutes like an attorney, I likely would need to take out a new mortgage to pay him. Fortunately, the final billing was very reasonable. Gracias to Greg.
We just started taking our vehicle to Benchmark. So far, we are very impressed with the thoroughness of the assessment of the problems and the help we received to rectify the problems. Freakin Fantastical. My 335 leaked out all the coolant at the 1:30 on Friday afternoon at the start of Labor Day weekend. I called and Greg said to bring it in ASAP. I brought my car in at 1:40 and Greg diagnosed the crack in the reserve tank. He ordered the part and drive me back to my office. My car was done by 5:30 and I’m in the road for the holiday weekend. If there were ten stars this place would get. They no how to do business at Benchmark and that’s exactly why they’ve been in business so long. GREAT JOB BENCHMARK!!!!
Absolutely top notch service. Its a really nice place, they obviously deal quite a bit with high end cars. I have a trip this weekend and my 2009 Subaru Forester was running rough so I called around and nobody could fit me in except for Benchmark Motors who took a look at the car while I waited in their waiting room, which was so comfortable I almost fell asleep in the chair. I requested an oil change while there, which they took care of fairly quickly, and they were able to make some minor repairs to my car to greatly improve how it ran. They also mentioned that the brakes just had a little rust but the pads were fine so I could hold off on expensive repairs. I just moved to the area and these guys are definitely going to be where I bring my car from now on.
I have been using Benchmark Motors for several years. This summer my BMW would not start so I used my BMW motor club and they towed the car to the Dealer on Route 40. I was told they could not tow it to my repair of choice. However this was wrong. My customer rep at the BMW dealer has always been great. However we came to a parting of ways when the bill came to over $5,500. I paid for a re- tow to Benchmark and ended up with GREAT SERVICE!! A BILL of $1800 for the same work the dealer was wanting to change over $5000 for. Granted I did not do everythin on the dealer list. Which by the way was not needed. I will continue to use Benchmark without hesitation. BMW motor club or not.Thanks so very much

We brought our vehicle in with a list of about 5 issues that we were having. Benchmark supposedly looked at every problem, but didnt resolve one issue. One particular issue we were having occurred every time the vehicle was driven, but Benchmark said that they couldnt replicate it. As soon as we picked up our vehicle the issue occurred within five minutes of driving. We also noted a large scratch on our drivers door. 500 dollars plus out of pocket later and NO resolution. My husband and I suspected what one of the problems was so we took our vehicle to have to have a diagnostic test, within seconds 2 error codes were retrieved from the memory. My husband bought $40 worth of parts and took 5 minutes of time to fix the issue. When we called to discuss this and the scratch we were treated in a very unprofessional manner. There are plenty of other service centers in our area, save yourself the time and money.
Everyone I have dealt with at Benchmark Motors has been really great. I feel like they know these cars (all of the German makes) very well and the cars get great attention because of it. I also feel like what needs to get done gets done rather than selling a long list of generic services.
Always very helpful and extremely knowledgable about both of my cars.Pricing is always lower than what I would spend at any of the local Benz dealers and I have been to and spent money at all of them. I would highly recommend Benchmark to anyone.

I got all my four tires and back brake pads and rotors replaced with the tires and brake parts I ordered from Tirerack for my BMW 335xi. Dropped of my car in the morning and collected it back in the evening. They even dropped me at my work in the morning and picked up in the evening as I didnt have anyone else to pick or drop me off. Although I had to come back for alignment as they forgot to recommend the four wheel alignment which is always needed whenever you get in new set of tires and I also forgot to ask. But other than everything went smoothly and I am very happy with them. Will definitely use them again.

Ive been a loyal Benchmark Motors customer for over two decades, as well as, referred multiple associates and neighbors. The mechanics have always done good work, their prices are fair and its convenient. However, when it comes to customer service they have failed! On the last several occasions, Greg R. the Service Manager has been outright combative and rude to my wife and myself. Its bad enough that you have to shell out $$$ for a busted vechicle, the last thing one would want to deal with is a disgruntled manager who clearly cant manage. Needless to say, until the owner does something about Greg R., I will be taking my bussiness elsewhere. And apparently Im not the only one.
I dont take my cars anywhere else now. Tried many places over the years but havent found anywhere else that comes close in terms of trust, integrity, knowledge and problem solving skills. So many other firms upsell unnecessarily, or even sometimes immorally. Never had any issue here with this team.

I have been going to this place over a decade. E320, 535xi and Porsche 911; the mercedes never really broke down so they did regular maintenance, which was fine. The BMW has some issues and their solution was the keep replacing parts, I ended up selling the BMW and the new owner fixed it by replacing one injector. Fast forward to today, my 911 threw a code and also the car had a gas smell. They replaced a part but never hooked up the witch so it would not vent and I could not fill with gas. Also another hose for cylinder one issues, they didnt know how to diagnose the problem and gave me what they thought was the issue, just replacing parts, I got frustrated because I didnt want to just throw parts at it and took it a Porsche shop and they found the problem immediately because they had the right equipment and a good understanding of how that car worked. So after spending $1500 here I had to go somewhere else that would have saved me $1500 and they fixed the switch that Benchmark didnt hook up. When I called Benchmark to let them know they automatically said it wasnt their fault and it was probably something else.
Benchmark is keeping my 2003 Saab convertible very road-worthy. I have found them to be very honest and skilled in what they do. And not just for BMW and Benz.

Danny is great, the crew is relaxed. You feel like they are not trying to hide anything. My favorite is Jani. (Pronounced Yahni), he really knows BMWs. They gave me ride home the last time and I am expecting they do the same today.
Not just BMWs and Mercedes! They serviced my trashy old 95 Tercel, and my Priuses! Honest, responsive service, Many the times Ive worried something was not right and would need replacement, so they could charge me big bucks, and nope, theyd tell me you dont need it. And the car has been fine.
I have been coming to Benchmark since the 4 year warranty expired on my ‘06 325Cic convertible. I purchased my car from VOB in Rockville, before the warranty expired, I went to a BMW dealer on Rt. 40 in Catonsville, another one off Rt. 29 in Silver Spring, and a third near the Branch Ave Metro in Marlo Heights. Not one of them compares favorably to the service I get today from Benchmark. My car will be 10 years old March 8th, it has a little over 100K miles, and it runs like a dream - even the mechanics say so. The best thing I ever did, was to bring it to Benchmark for all my after warranty service. They do a great job at a fair price; I wouldnt think about taking my car anywhere else.
I brought my 2004 Boxster in to be fitted for new tires. The wheels are painted and the tech was very careful and there were no stratches. The Roadforce balancer makes high speed motoring exceptionally smooth. The staff is friendly and knowledgible.
As always, Benchmark told us immediately what was wrong without a fee to check, they knew exactly how much it would cost us and offered us an option that was $400 less than the original quote. We love them!
