I used Hortus for years doing tree trimming n removal n stone n stucco work. Last year they did some stucco work for me n I watched their workers closely. They were not using the chicken wire on the stucco n I told them it will crack. Tye, the owner, told me not to worry that I had a year warranty. Within 6 months, I had huge cracks along the stucco wall. Tye came out to look at it in January n said he’ll have to wait until it gets warmer to repair it. Summer came n I called them about 10 times n the woman that answers the phone, I believe to be his wife, said he will call me. He never did. I was going to make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau n was informed I would have to send a letter. When I looked up their address, it was a vacant lot. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I was driving down Galley heading East behind one of their trucks hauling a trailer with no tailgate. I decided it would be best to stay from behind them and no sooner than I switched lanes, a huge chunk of wood with nails and some broken pavestone pieces fly out when they hit a pothole. Seems like they dont understand how to clean and dispose of their junk. Poor work ethic.

I would definitely not recommend this Company. While trimming trees outside of my business, they put the equipment that grinds the trees right outside the window of my hair salon. Not only was the noise so loud that I could not hear my clients, the fumes were coming into the building. When I politely ask them if they could move their equipment, I was dismissed. The company will not return my calls.

Great guys doing great work

Pricing was fair to install ~1,400 sq ft of flagstone on sidewalk and back patio. Hortus treated our job with NO priority taking 3-4 months. Winter came so NO SEALER on the flagstone. We reluctantly paid the remaining installment with the understanding Hortus will return in the spring to apply the sealer. What a mistake. The owner Tayde signed the receipt writing will return, but Hortus was no show or did not return repeated phone calls. We are now stuck with the cost to seal the flagstone. Would never recommend this landscaper to anyone.

Did not get the opportunity to see how their workmanship was. They were supposed to be to my house at 1:00 no one showed up for no phone call so I called and the lady said he was running behind schedule and was on his way. Then the lady called back and changed her story. If it starts out like this Im sure the ending is not too good I would highly recommend other companies.

Very disappointed. Ive used them twice before for firewood, and never any problems. This year, my wife called and spoke to someone who stated that they would have another person call us. Never got that return call, so my wife called again, this time speaking to someone who stated that she would need to check the delivery schedule and call us back. Nope, didnt happen. The final straw? Called for a third time yesterday, was told that they would deliver to us TODAY at 11 (supposedly second on their list). Its past 2 already, no one in the office to call, and thinking we will not get the wood. Whatever happened to customer service? Shame...

I asked Hortus to come out and give me an estimate on a large pine tree removal. They did and set up a time Saturday, 8:30AM on Labor Day to have it done. I changed my weekend schedule to accommodate this time, but no one showed up to take down the tree. I left a message with the Hortus office and no one returned my call. I finally called them and got a person and they set up another appointment (without apologizing for missing the first one). It was another Saturday (today), so again, I changed my schedule to accommodate this. On the day before (yesterday), I called to ensure someone would be coming to cut down the tree and I was told, yes, they would be. But, no one showed again. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Please, find another company to do your work. Lets dont reward this type of customer non-service.

Not only was everyone very friendly, they did a great job. Very clean and quick. They even helped my neighbor by removing branches he had cut earlier in the week. Thanks Hortus...

We hired the company for leave clean up and trimmering of bushes. First told that would only there would only be 2 workers, so the job would go quockly. Three workers showed up and 5.5 hours later, equaled 90.00 an hrs instead of 60.00. So it cost 500.00 for job. This crew had none of the updated equipment, so may contribute to the length of time.

This guy stopped answering calls. Left without finishing work. I would not hire unless you feel like being robbed

Very happy with this company. They performed the work promised on time and on price.

Had some difficulty confirming time window for them to show. But after that was worked out, crew did a great job -- Im very happy with the result.
