Master Kim has taught me so much over the past year that I’ve been learning here. He always makes sure that all his students understand before moving on and helps with anything needed. He is a very kind person and makes learning fun. Thank you Master Kim!

Master Kim is an amazing instructor! He prides himself on discipline, self-respect and healthy instruction for his students. Our son competes nationally with Team One and it’s been wonderful. He treats the students and parents like family. We are so pleased with our sons progression in his sport and value the lessons he is learning.

I am a 3rd-degree black belt, and its hard to find a master who can and will participate in teaching the kids. I usually see younger students take over most of the time and do masters work. But not here in Iron Horse. Master Kim is there all the time to show and guide all ages of the students. Nowadays, it is tough to find a good quality taekwondo school, and its more of a business than teaching the kids discipline, confidence, self-control, and politeness. I have two kids, 6 and 14, and wanted to find a master that I could count on, and after four months of searching, I have discovered Iron Horse. This post is not about to give a good review but for parents who are serious about sending their kids or even taking the class on their own to let them know that I have searched and Iron Horse is my top and only pick.

Master Kim and coach Puno are amazing with the kids. They always put the kids first. They have great students who help one another and great team work. They have respect for their coaches and one another. Master Kim pushes the kids for greatness. We love coming to Iron Horse a decision that we’ll never regret.

My son has been attending Iron Horse Taekwondo for 2.5 years and Master Kim is a phenomenal instructor. He takes time to work with his students, cares about their forms AND also their attitude toward others. Master Kim is a genuine individual, teaching his students full life skills. Wonderful dojang!!

Master Kim is an incredible teacher, mentor, and Grand Master. My son earned his black belt at a very young age after starting at 5. He has loved the discipline, skills, mental and physical strength Taekwondo has taught him. We could not imagine belonging to a better Dojang.

Iron horse taekwondo is the single best place for martial arts and to learn respect for others, I’ve been here for some time and have really enjoyed it, also it is truly a welcoming family of people. To add Master Kim has truly dealt with pandemic incredibly well and I really recommend if you want to learn taekwondo you go here.

We were part of another Taekwondo Academy when we found Iron Horse 9 months ago. We have some very good Taekwondo Academies local to us, yet we drive an hour each way to train here. Since my son started, his confidence has soared as well as his desire to compete on a National and World level. Over these last 9 months, he has earned gold medals in Las Vegas, Colorado, Atlanta and most recently Utah. While Master Kims focus is not just on the kids earning a medal, he instills a confidence in them that they can if they work and strive for it. He spends personal time ensuring that the kids work on what they need to succeed and a plan for them to reach the goal. We have had some good coaches in the past, but none were as effective as Master Kim. He truly leads by example and this is the only place we will train because of it!

Our son started at Iron Horse about 9 months ago, but has been training in Taekwondo for over 6 years. There are several good Taekwondo schools around where we live in Highlands Ranch, CO, but we drive to Colorado Springs 3 times a week so he can train with Master Kim and the rest of the team. And, it is well worth the drive.He competes at the local, state and national level (he recently won gold at Nationals in Utah) and we simply have not found a better place to train. Not only from a competition stand-point, but just from the level of respect the team has for Master Kim and Master Kim has for the team.The old adage “It takes a village to raise a child”, holds true today more so than ever. We are truly blessed to have found Iron Horse Taekwondo Academy, Master Kim and the rest of the team to have as a part of our village.

A true master of the art! Master Kim is professional, caring and a wonderful instructor. My little girl has loved this school since the first day at Little Champions. Master Kims class has improved her self esteem and confidence 150%! She excels with her school responsibilities, seeks out learning opportunities on her own, and has been in advance proficiency with all her school curriculum. We have been attending this school for a little over a year now and my little one continues to love this class. I highly recommend this school to any and every parent out there!

I have trained under Grand Master Kim for almost nine years. He is the true meaning of a mentor, coach, teacher and friend. I am confident in the wisdom, skills and knowledge that he has taught me. Iron Horse Taekwondo is the place to practice Taekwondo in Colorado Springs. With an experienced instructor who has coached at the Olympic level you will get the best level of training in a fun atmosphere.Since joining Iron Horse Taekwondo my children have become physically fit, learned self defense, and most importantly gained self confidence in themselves. My son has been with this Academy for over 8 years and still enjoys it. He has been on several teams, has traveled, earned medals, is more disciplined; but most importantly has made friends that will probably last him a lifetime. My son started when it was 3 years 10 months old and I posted future black belt now he is 8 years old is one belt away for a black belt, which is not the goal. He have 2 gold medals and one silver in national and state championships, over all he is not scared to sparring bigger and older kids, due his confidence reason we have him practicing to be a super athlete and the goal to participate in a world championship. The school guided by Master Chulho Kim who experienced to be a World Championship have the ability to prepare Brandon for this goal.

I have been taking classes here for 5 months and my daughter has been here almost 3 years. We enjoy the atmosphere and the training. Master Kim has a great work ethic and personally teaches at least 80% of the classes, supervising the rest. He is a good teacher and is especially good at motivating the younger kids.

Wonderful experience. Our son has been attending Iron Horse Academy for just under three years and cannot think about ever being anywhere else. Iron Horse has been my sons first experience with Taekwondo, and my expectations have been exceeded both with the quality of instruction and the amount of attention given to my son. Iron Horse is very family friendly and the Master Kim is excellent with children of all ages. He truly cares about teaching Taekwondo as an art and lifestyle, and he, first and foremost, cares about his students and their growth in the sport of Taekwondo.

I have been attending Iron Horse Taekwondo Academy on and off (moved out of state) for several years. I really enjoy the school. He is very patient with all students (especially the children) as they work to learn/master their skills. The full body of knowledge required to learn is refreshing, not just sparring or just weapons. If you want a real taekwondo education as you advance, this is a great place. If you just want a Black Belt with no real knowledge or expectations, probably not the place for you.

My son has been trained about 10 years under Master Kim. There have been ups and downs in his long pursuit of TaeKwonDo. The masters real value shines when there were downs. With his willingness to help and guide, he could manage to navigate through the difficulties. This is a place not only learn TaeKwonDo, but also the wisdom to survive hardships.

If youre looking for a professional, experienced, Instructor for your kids or yourself you wont find anyone better in Colorado Springs.Be warned if choosing a different studio, not all will provide you with a Kukkiwon Certified Black belt upon completion like Iron Horses does. Their are many opportunities that are provided wih this school, Master Kim has been training and building an olympic team, which is now one of the strongest winning team in Colorado. They have been to state and the students all placed 10 golds, one silver, and one bronze. They have then moved on to nationals, and have medaled at nationals with one silver and two bronze. If you want your student to achieve something, gain discipline, respect, and proper skills, i recommend signing up with iron horse!
