Great gym with four or five sets Of free weights and two full sets of machines, plus plenty of space to spread out and extremely clean. Only bummer is they are closed on Sunday. They are doing a great job with sanitation and they are always extremely efficient.

Awesome! Went here to play racquet ball with my brother. After several attempts during covid without any luck. (Safety regulations) we finally got to play last week. The courts are awesome and very secluded so there isnt alot of traffic behind the glass. They do close for a few hours for dependents so we didnt stay as long as we wanted but overall great experience

Only the Air Force would limit the gym to only Peterson and Schreiber personnel. You dont see this with the gyms on Fort Carson.

Li
Review №22

The equipment is nice & the gym is usually clean. However, the layout is strange. The weight floor is split up into so many different rooms that it makes it difficult to superset (especially if you don’t want to bring equipment into different rooms). It also makes it difficult to spot open spaces for equipment that you’re waiting to use. Lastly, I think the weight rooms being so separated from every other part of the gym makes lifting more intimidating for people who are new to it—especially women (I see fewer there than I have at other base gyms).

Da
Review №23

Im sorry respectfully to limit use to only those living on base goes against what we stand for as a service. Why not limit the number of people, limit the time you can stay in the gym, follow public health guidelines. A medical professional wasnt consulted when this decision was made. We are all part of one military team and we all need to stay fit physically and mentally and the leaders at Peterson are denying that privilege for all U.S Air Force and other Military members. Shame

This fitness center offers 2 floors of weight machines, a 1/12-mile indoor walk/run track, Cross fit area, free weight area, 2 basketball courts, and 2 cardio rooms (with a variety of treadmills, elliptical, exercise bikes, & stair climbers). During good weather, one can also use the outdoor track.Daily use lockers are available (bring your own padlock) & the locker room has a sauna & ample showers. There is also a juice bar concession offering a variety of smoothies & protein shakes.Early morning, lunch time, and early evening can be crowded. I usually get there 0900-1000 to avoid the crowds and waiting times for the more popular machines.

Its free, but half of the machines are OOC. The fact that it is free means its always crowded. I would recommend purchasing a pool membership. It has a few working cross trainers, dry sauna, hot tub and Olympic size pool for swim lapping enthusiast. Small price to pay for staying fit. Its next door to the gym.

This is a medium size (compared to other DOD gyms), well kept gym inside Peterson Airforce Base. If you are lucky enough to have a military credential or authorization to use this gym, do not pass on the opportunity. It has all you need to stay fit. The swimming pools are in an adjacent building and the bowling center as well, so in reality it is in a complex. It has all kind of machines, weight rooms, climbing room, running, steps, climbing, stretching machines and equipment, and there are a shakes bar in the first floor, second floor has a running track and some offices for nutrition consultation / advise (by medical referral is my understanding) and other rooms for other purposes. It is well organized and I believe that they conduct different classes as well (like yoga, zumba, etc), but I never have taken one, however they have fliers and documentation as soon as you enter. They have a big help desk at the front where they help you and will check your identification to ensure you can use the facilities. Bring your own towel. I did not see a sauna room ( they might have one, but I did not see it). Ive seen bigger gyms in the Army, but this one is ok as well. Right outside they have tracks for running and exercise. Some hours are busier than others. It is a well rounded facility. Sometimes the base conduct exercises and simulations and they will lock you inside, so be prepared.

I really like the set up. And theres a lot of machines and areas to work out in. I recommend avoiding the peak hours which are on the morning around 7:30am, 12ish and 4:30ish. Thats when most people go do it does get pretty busy. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Review №48

Gym is well kept, sometimes its overly crowded but its to be expected during peak hours. Only reason giving it a 4 out of 5 is the lack of 24hr access. Most bases Ive been stationed at or been TDY have had a 24 hour CAC access gym.

Not a lot of space and the amenities need to be updated the floor in the racquet ball courts are falling apart and the gym equipment is cramped and they dont have a great variety. Its a 10 minute walk from my house to this free gym so I guess thats nice and the pool is right next door. They do have a nice track and astroturf field out back.

The gym is very large and it encompasses two buildings, both 560 and 570. My first time going there was tonight and I was very impressed at the cleanliness first and foremost. Everyone cleaned after themselves and there was also a hired cleaning crew on a rotational schedule the whole time I was there. I loved that the layout had multiple levels and had at least two cardio rooms with treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, and other things of that nature; two weight rooms, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and lastly they have an outside area that was closed due to snow and an indoor 1/12 mile track.
