What a Joke!! Bad Communication. Knew a week before hand that closing was a Mail Out and needed a Notary. They then charged a full closing fee on top of Notary fee and never scheduled a notary until last minute which delayed Funding. 4hour time difference and Notary never called client to schedule. I was having to make sure closing was a go at midnight my time and then acted like they were unaware. They have then Held on to Funding checks for over a week and again acted like they didn’t know where to send. TERRIBLE SERVICE

Needed help executing a lease and Empire made it happen. I was able to call and drop in without an appointment. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back!

EDIT: Bill, the owner, has worked with me to make this situation right. Will be refunding part of my closing costs and retraining his staff to make sure my experience wont happen again. I have changed my star rate from 1 to 3 because Bill has been responsive, empathetic, and willing to make it right. I do believe this whole situation could have been avoided but I can appreciate an owner trying to make this right.If I could leave a 0 zero stars I would. Here is the scene: Two days before closing my lender calls and tells me that we needed cheaper insurance and he already found some. Its better insurance for $300 less. I sign and we send the information to Empire Title. The morning of closing (drive in closing) the closer tells me it looks like we got you cheaper insurance. I ask how that will effect the certified check. She tells me I will receive a check for the difference. The original insurance was State Farm ($1645) and the new insurance is Safeco ($1391). The title company gave the correct amount ($1391) to the WRONG company (State Farm). Safeco even sent me my insurance policy since I signed their documentation. So I, 7 weeks later am getting letters stating I will not have insurance on my home because the TITLE company never paid it. So I call Empire Title and get sent to Jamie Hensleys office where I encounter Jennifer. I call on a Monday and explain my situation. She tells me she needs to gather some information and get back to me. Tuesday no call. So I call and she explains that they sent they sent a check to State Farm like my closing documents stated. I inform her of the closer made a remark on the change the DAY my loan closed and page 66 of my closing documents there is a loan distribution schedule with SAFECO as my insurance. Jennifer tells me she needs to confer with her closer. So I wait until Wednesday, still no call. I call and again Jennifer is the person whom I speak to. She informs me that they will not do anything because State Farm cashed the check. So now I get to choose whether I pay my mortgage or I pay my insurance because they cant follow simple instructions. I could have managed the WHOLE closing myself and still sent the correct check to the right insurance.

Ive bought and sold several properties and this is the first title company that Ive had any issues with. Good luck reaching people at their office, they will transfer you until you get disconnected or youll just get a vm and no one will ever call you back.

We are moving out of state and they told us everything was a go no problems. My husband goes down there this morning and signed then they wanted to wire our bank account this afternoon but we wanted a check now there’s problems. My husband has been sitting there for two hours while I’m sitting in a van with all my animals and kids waiting so we can have money to go on our way. They are shady as hell

My mortgage broker Alexa is awesome! She helped me thoroughly throughout the whole time and was able to offer me the best rates! I’d recommend her 100%!

As the pandemic affected all businesses, it also affected our closing on our refinance. After waiting weeks for updates, we were asked to rush through to closing to complete the process in order to maintain committed rates. We found Empire didnt follow their documented process to provide documents to review early and had to reach out numerous times to get copies of the final documents after signature/closure. The most concerning part of the process is that all of our closing documents and financial information were sent to a gmail account without security. When I called to challenge the process, their executive responded with a commitment to follow up and stated that the communication is secure and that the only security concern would be on my personal computer - they didnt seem to understand that the documentation was sent to a gmail account and that is not sent directly to any computer. I did find they used some tools but they dont seem to have them configured correctly and they never followed up on my questions.

Closed today with ease. I debated some on the 5 stars ⭐️ since there was something that could’ve been handled better at the closing table. However, overall experience was a smooth process. The front office people were super kind and fun. Laura was our first point of contact for our closing, and did an excellent job! Thank you for the cookie and hospitality.

Great service on our home sale. Agent went out of his way to communicate any difficulties in the closing and the owner addressed any concerns brought to his attention. Would recommend them to any military member looking to sell their home while out of state.

This wasnt a pleasant, easy experience. Our home had been delayed multiple times due to NOVA home loans getting our estimate for the house incorrect, and it worsened with Empire. Upon arriving there the staff were friendly with greeting my wife and I as we waited. However, when our title officer came in, C.J. Ruggard, she was not friendly, welcoming, or comforting at all. She said our loan estimate was off my 2k and that we should just expect to pay 2k out of pocket that we will never see again. We looked into it and fixed it despite what she suggested. The whole time we were signing papers it was as if we were wasting her time even though she was making money off of our deal, not sincere at all, as if we personally did something to upset her. Finally, she made it very specific that we need to make our payments to the slips that she provided into our folder, we sent our payments to the address on the slips, it was the wrong address and now were looking at late fees. Completely worthless, I dont know why they have such high reviews on google, must be their own employees.
