Kevin, the owner has no remorse when not showing up for a scheduled appointment. Forgets his appointments, doesnt call the owner. What a way to run a business.Cabinets do not get painted in the time frame promised. Partial install because workers never painted the cabinets. We paid Kevin $3100.00 only to have to FIRE him. My husband finished the job he started and much better. You would have thought Kevin would deliver our property to us, but nope. We had to head to his house to collect our property. He is a poor excuse for a businessman. Save your money, save your valuable time and do not go with Resurrected Cabinets. Too many headaches. If I could give a minus star rating this business would get it.
I used Resurrected Cabinet Coatings to refinish the cabinets in my kitchen. The finished product looks nice, but it required constant monitoring as well as several arguments with the owner, and additional costs to redo work Resurrected Cabinets was unwilling to do as promised (i.e. professional looking paint finish on the existing cabinet boxes) - in the end, the kitchen looks as nice and professionally done. But, I am annoyed so much supervision was needed to get there. I give three stars because working with a contractor should not be that difficult, and because, although the doors, trim, and door handle installation was very nicely done and finished, the paint work on the base boxes was a nightmare. The biggest pain point was that they tried to paint the old cabinet boxes directly over the old finish, without sanding or sanding down enough to allow the primer and new paint to adhere correctly. They painted with rollers and brushes, which left streak marks and drip marks all over (see attached pictures). This forced me hire to another contractor to redo the paint work professionally (i.e sanding everything down and painting with a sprayer to provide the expected, smooth and blemish free professional finish). I was able to get Resurrected Cabinets to pay for half of the other contractors fees (good gesture on their part), but still, I ended up paying for additional work which they guaranteed they would do professionally as part of our contact.I found working with Resurrected Cabinets exhausting. My opinion is that they provide poor workmanship in various aspects of their work (some are very good, however). Another example, I paid for two new boxes, and they tried to install boxes made from what appeared to be used materials, and the boxes didnt even match the existing boxes. I had to argue with the owner to get him to replace the boxes with new boxes, and to ensure they matched the existing boxes, as agreed in our contract. The replacement boxes installed the second time around were very nice! Finally, communication with this company is difficult (they are not forthcoming, not necessarily on purpose), but that leaves the customer exposed to poor decision making (by them) regarding the work to be done.
Kevin does some amazing work! He took my old blah 90s oak cabinets and made them modern looking for a fraction of the price as new. I had multiple estimates and Resurrected was the best price by far and he even refaces with real wood doors not the cheap particle board ones like the other guys. He showed up on time, got the work done on time and I felt comfortable leaving him in my house when I wasnt there. Great guy, great job. Thanks!
This was the WORST experience we have ever had with a contractor. Our kitchen cabinets were supposed to take 3 days from Feb 7-10. It is mid-May and Im just posting this because the job took 3 months to complete! Kevin Chapman (owner) lost our cabinet measurements and paint selections multiple times, forgot what day he confirmed the installation and needed reminders, mis-measured the doors and had to install them one-by-one once he got the sizes correct, and drilled the door handles into the wrong sides and wrong sizes of multiple doors, resulting in delayed repairs. This project was an absolute nightmare and we would NEVER recommend this company to our worst enemy. The only positive reviews seem to have been left by family and friends. Beware - you may have to go to BBB to get your project completed!!!
The cabinet refacing and painting turned out nice. However, I feel the communication was not very good. Attention to detail was not the best. I think if the owner took notes for each customer it greatly help. For example, I requested the pantry door handle in the middle of the door, I mentioned it twice. The day of door install the door handle was on the top of door. Ordered wrong size glass for one door so had to wait to reorder correct size. Forgot about my large painted spice rack, had to remind him. I thought maybe he lost it because he said he already delivered it. The wine holder was installed but left a scratch in the new paint job, never said anything about it. I think he just didn’t care. The project took several months to finally complete. Ended up paying more, had to re-order pantry door that matched the other shaker doors. Price a little high.
Kevin did a very nice job painting kitchen cabinets - they look great and we saved a ton of money in comparison to replacing. He removed all the door & drawer fronts for treatment at his shop - the result was excellent. He is meticulous and very skilled.
