I can’t say enough great things about this place. Amazing, rotating nightly menu. Best Schnitzel I’ve had since living in Germany for 4 years. Great staff and very fairly priced. Would give more stars if I could!

If you’re plant based the only option for food is b+ fries or the vegetarian options on taco Tuesday (Make sure to specifically say “no dairy” and “plus salsa” or your “vegan” selection will include cheese and sour cream) Water is $1, remarkably, depending on your server. Tuesdays and Fridays are busiest. Mens’ room smells.

Authentic, top quality European cuisine and beer. Great casual atmosphere. Good, laid back people.

Great German food. Old school Cleveland and priced very reasonably. Amy the bartender/waitress does a great job. An entire liter of German beer is only $7.

Went for October fest. Had delicious dinner and good company. Be sure to try Grmpys potato salad if it is on menu.

Best taco tuesday Ive ever had! Its like normal $2.00 bar tacos, except the meat comes in several delicious seasoned varieties. Great deal on litres of beer too.

I grew up in this place when I was little. My parents were the caretakers. I witnessed so many happy memories in this building. A very amazing place.

Horrible experience for carry out on their taco Tuesday. Six of our 10 tacos were missing meat. Two of the tacos were shrimp which consisted of canned baby shrimp! Seriously? The 2 empanadas were nasty looking with a tablespoon of dried stringy meat filling. We called and spoke with management aka Grumpy, and he said they would refund our money. Which they never did. Finally, we had to come in with a receipt and wait 10 minutes while he talked to someone while watching us stand in the bar and wait for him. The restaurant was dead. The restaurant is run down and looks like a relic from the past. They were seven customers. The fact that the owner lied and made us go through multiple attempts to get a refund for what was clearly their wrongdoing says a lot that they are desperate and don’t care.We don’t agree with the good reviews. The eatablishment is unacceptable.

This place is absolutely fantastic, but is a total dive bar, so be prepared for the atmosphere! It is in NO way a dangerous or sketchy place - just relaxed and blue collar. They have amazing taco Tuesdays with an impressive selection of flavors that are good. The tacos are large and inexpensive, so you can stuff yourself for $6 (4 tacos) or eat a reasonable meal for $3 or $4.50, depending on how hungry you are/how much you eat.Taco warning: the Unlucky 7. They lable it as hot and they aint kidding! The thing so hot that once you eat you cannot taste anything else!Beer warning: they sell liters and 1/2 liters - but every once in a while if you order a liter, they bring you a 2 liter monstrosity! Those an good nights, haha.

Everything is great but I cant help but recommend the Schnitzel and German Potato salad 😍

I come here in taco Tuesdays mostly. What is there to say but that its a dive bar with cheap good beer that you can get by the liter, an amazingly large selection of tacos that are all delicious and empanadas too if you want something fried, and a no frills comfortable atmosphere. Most of the time people choose good music on the juke box and the service, while it can be slow, is friendly enough. You come here for what it is and nothing more and thats why it gets 5 stars from me. Always a good place to go on a Tuesday night.

I must say, though non-traditional, their Taco Tuesday is my favourite day to stop in.Say hi to Joy, have a litre (or two), and don’t skip the house hot sauce! Well, unless you’re a wimp.

I took my friends here tonight after playing shuffle board at Forest City shuffle board. They had never been to Sachsenheim, I told them they were in for a real treat. Our dinners were excellent and so was the service. Grumpy even waited on us and was a sweetheart! I am sure will be back soon. Thanks for the great evening!

Love this location. They did a great job on our wedding reception. The food was amazing and they kept me up to date on the on everything. Its not super updated which I feel is a part of its charm. If your looking for the super modern fancy look this is not it but it does have that old wooden charm, a great staff and great food.

It was the worst hall I’ve ever rented it was dirty and the customer service their sucks so outdated it’s a big no for me even if someone was given an event there I wouldn’t come🤦🏾‍♀️

Only in Cleveland can you find Taco Tuesday at a German beer hall! And its not just any Taco Tuesday. They have chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian options and four or five saucy flavors within those categories. Soft or crunchy tacos are $1.25 each. The beer selection is extensive and the energy level is high. You wont be disappointed.

Great and cheap food, with many meats to choose from for tacos. Though, the service was very slow. They told us to sit anywhere and then it took the waitress a half hr to come, even when we (table of 2) flagged her down, while theplace was not that busy ( a few tables .) Could have been better.

The tacos are great. No other Taco Tuesday has this variety of meats and they have a decent amount of vegetarian choices.

The bar and restaurant in Sachsenheim Hall is a hidden gem. Large portions of well made food with some of the lowest priced craft and import draft beer in the city. Daily food specials. The hall and catering business is also very reasonably priced.

Might be the best food and beer in Cleveland. Its worth the trip.

Service is hit or miss. Beer selection is appropriate for a German bar. No beer list available and bartender seems bothered to describe whats on tap. Food and drinks are affordable.

The fish here is top notch. However the atmosphere and service will leave something to be desired. Groups will order in sets and wait for food. A great place for a few beers and drink with close friends but groups and dates could do better elsewhere.

The food and service are much better than your initial reaction to the place will be. Thats because its straight out of 1960. Small, unchanged from its early days.

Unassuming place, but wonderful sausages and have fun social activities.

I have to say that I thought i found the goldmine for tacos...great tasty choices....but that was until a roach crawled across my plate at the bar...needless to say, i never went back. Too bad too..everyone that worked there was very nice as well.

Great service, barmaid waited our table, she was attentive & friendly. Had fish, perch was bland, battered cod, & baked cod were great as was the appetizers & sides.

Overwhelming scent of urine when sitting at the one table near the wall. Can make a vegan friendly taco on request for taco Tuesday and has massive mugs of beer.Edit: perhaps that was just a bad day. Nice little place for tacos and friends.

Taco Tuesdays...Service is lacking--werent asked even once if we needed refills. We just sat at the table with empty cups and bottles. They now charge $1 for a plastic party cup of tap water, even when youre buying food and other drinks. The tacos taste alright, but the service and the charge for tap water irritates me just enough to not go back.

If you are familiar with Grumpys in Tremont, you will be excited to hear that Grumpy himself is the proprietor of this fine establishment. I have never once been disappointed with my meal. They have Great European and Local Craft beers at amazing prices. And easily the Best Taco Tuesday in Cleveland! Bring the whole family.
