Loved the French onion soup! I think this might have been my favorite soup! For appetizer we had the rib/fry combo - the ribs were great...plenty of meat and a great sauce. The fries were probably the biggest let down...just regular greasy pub fries. The garlic parm wings were fantastic tho!I had the Perch which was really good - flaky and plenty of it. Taste was great, loved every bite!My daughter had the Carolina chicken and absolutely loved it as well!We werent crazy about the cucumber ranch - the cucumber taste was too strong, it was good, but might have been a little better if it was toned down...but that might just be us.The server was very friendly and attentive - unfortunately I dont recall her name.Overall I would highly recommend Flat Iron!!
Quaint old bar with some cool illustrations on the walls, a friendly staff, excitable patrons (the Browns we’re winning at half), and fantastic food. Prices were really great to boot!We only had time for a super quick bite pre-show. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their more interesting menu options!Hey, Flat Iron Cafe, who did those neat pencil sketches of famous authors?
Wings were great. Wednesday is wing day. Bartender friendly beer was cold. Nice place
Great place even better service. This is one of your local watering holes that has amazing service and a well kept secret on how their food is. Their burgers are amazing, I personally like the bourbon bacon burger, and the salads are out of this world, they make their own ranch dressing which is their secret ingredient its the most delicious dressing I have ever had. The perch platter is pretty good too. Drinks are cheaper than most places as well.
Oldest Irish Pub in Cleveland, Ohio. The owner David is an awesome guy and supports his local community. You can find him often tending the bar with a smile. Food is always amazing. Fish & chips ...wow the size. Wife got a wrap that was huge. Great value. Perfect spot to stop before a game or event with quick access to the stadiums and surrounding area. They even have a shuttle during Indians game (not sure about Browns) Beer & beverage selection excellent. Small outdoor patio for standing and chilling. Historic and just a great spot you have to see. Cheers!!
Had the M.O.M. burger, it was very good. Good service, reasonable prices. I recommend giving them a try.
The food was OK but wasnt as great as the reviews. The fish was overcooked and the meat loaf had sweetest bbq sauce and had to scrape it off and eat with a fork. The service was perfect. Friendly staff and nice clean atmosphere. Would go back would try something else though.
The wings are mighty big .I thought delicious .Flat iron rules
The stuff was totally rude. We stopped by on Wednesday afternoon. The were no people at all except for two customers at the bar. There was no wheat beer on draft as well. So we ended up getting a couple of drinks. In a couple of minutes the waitress offered us food. After we said no, she came again saying “your kids can’t go upstairs, they bother our customers”. I had to take the kids out and wait outside for my husband to finish the drink. So if you don’t spend a fortune there your business is not appreciated. At all.
Good food. Lucky to get a parking spot near by.
We arrived about 3:30 and not too crowded. I know the server must have been new, but she knew very little about the menu and drinks. The four of us ordered just basic burgers...took longer than should have. The burgers were very average. I only got the burger, but not the vegetables until much later. The pubs motif was good with nice wall decoration. Sorry that this wasnt better...my first time..no real reason to return.
Here from out of town. Great meal! French onion soup was excellent, grilled chicken salad was gigantic with house dressing thats second to none! My son had wings and fries which were very good. My other 2 dining companions had chicken fingers and fries (best ever) and shepherds pie which was phenomenal. 2 local drafts accompanied our meals which were excellent as well. Great staff earns this place 5++ stars!!
4.5 out of 5. Mostly typical Irish Pub food but quality/quantity is very good. Good selection of wraps, sandwiches, burgers and other American fair as well as some Irish/Brit dishes. Soups are excellent. Very good daily specials for food and brews. Many options for drinks in general. Have a classic (cheap) “Dad” beer night that rocks. Great spot for a casual meal and/or a few drinks. Good service also!
Family went to rock and roll hall of fame and looking for dinner. This place was very good local place. If we are ever thru Cleveland again we will stop again.
I waited for 10 minutes in the entry to get seated. We had so looked forward to eating here. As I was waiting a bus load of loud obnoxious people walked in, pushed past me and crowded around the bar. We still were never approached There were a lot of empty clean tables and numerous dirty ones. In fact there were very few tables with patrons. I was very disappointed in this experience. We ended up at Lindys and were seated and served almost immediately.
Food was delicious! Mozzarella sticks were perfect, wings were crispy and flavorful- although the fried perch had some bones in it which was not too pleasant. Server was not great. Looked miserable to be at work. Did not do much to be in the satisfactory customer service area.
I have to say I have not been here in years and tried it out before a Tribe game and what a great idea. Great appetizers and main courses. I dont care for perch but the rest of the table said it was to die for. The service was friendly and accurate. Great old Cleveland feel. Nice job.
Great corn beef not dry very juicy love it and the drinks were wonderful will be back
Stopped by The Flat Iron cafe since we were just down the road looking at the Cleveland Script sign at The Foundry. We were looking for a sit down restaurant that was family friendly. And it had to serve some kid friendly meals. The Flat Iron fit the bill according to the reviews I saw.Glad we went here. Food was very good and the service was super friendly! I ordered the Flat Iron sandwich which was loaded with corned beef. My 8 year old opted for chicken fingers... which he could not finish! Prices were very family friendly as well! We dont make it up to Cleveland often... but I will keep this on my list of places to eat at when I am in the area.
Best kept secret in the Flats! Easy parking. Great food. Great drinks. Even better staff. Great prices too. Nothing like really getting what you pay for and not because of the location. Lots of great food for your buck! Will be back for sure again!!
The food here is AMAZING! If you like chicken wings, this is your spot! The staff is wonderful as well :)
Food was awesome, beer on tap was delicious and service was impeccable! Best dining experience we had while in Cleveland! Worth every dollar!
The perch plate was great. Lots of perch and a good helping of fries. Our waitress was very nice.
This has been my neighborhood spot for years now. I havent had anything on the menu I do not like. The pasta salad, cajun fries are great sides. The chicken caesar wrap is delicious if you want something light. But let me get to the point of this review. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST WINGS IN CLEVELAND. I am not lying to you. This is not an exaggeration. I ordered 120 of these wings for my brothers bachelor party last summer. The group of men from all over OH agreed unanimously. Seriously. GO and order the wings and see for yourself. You cant go wrong with the house iron sauce. My girlfriend was vegan when I met her, she gave that up after these wings (and some other pressure, but the wings played a part).
Delicious food, friendly service and great environment. On our way to a concert and it was the perfect place to stop and eat.
My boys said these are the best wings they’ve ever had. I’m anticipating the best wing meal of my life exactly two weeks from now. I will update the review accordingly. Let’s go Cleveland!
Food was great and big portions. Our waitress was very nice and the place definitely has charm!
Absolutely fantastic burger, and bar. Cooked perfectly, meat was clearly fresh and not frozen. Staff was really kind and acomidating. Better then Johnny littles bar burger by far!Close to the river and a metro park the flat iron is a must visit! There is some construction but they are open and serving up some of the best food in the neighborhood!
Oldest Irish pub in Cleveland. Great food and beer. The staff was very nice and quick.
Fantastic Reuben Sandwich and Corned Beef Platter. Service was great; we were very happy we ventured out away from our hotel while we were in town. We will be back next time we are in Cleveland!
Loved the iron burger! Good food with a chill vibe.
An hour wait for a bowl of clam chowder that was not very good. Waitstaff was as attentive as she could be given the circumstances.
Great food..great service..fish and chips you get so much.best meatloaf ever had at a restaurant
Fish is Way overpriced for the amount you get on a platter. 5 very small pieces for $23.99 plus an additional $2 to share. French onion soup had a weird taste. Our server was very nice, not her fault
Brittani was EXTRA cool. The bacon burger was SMACKING!!I apologize no photos..I was hungry..
Been here numerous times and never had a bad experience. Very friendly staff. Chicken wings with Iron sauce are absolutely incredible.
Wonderful staff and the best food. Its the little spot I never knew about until now.
Great mealoat! And wonderful service
Great burgers. Very friendly service.
One of my fav Irish pubs. I was first there years ago b4 the pandemic with live music . Drinks and food are amazing . Just visited a few weeks ago and everything was still delish.
Good food. The staff was awesome. Very friendly. My guy and I had the pleasure of speaking with the head chef/cook.
Really fun evening of live music (Fridays) friendly service and good food. Fun evening
Came in for burger week with a party of 8.Great burgers, amazing appetizers and fast and friendly service.
Service was great. Food was great.
Service was ok.First time visit and not sure if will be back.Had the corned beef platter. The corned beef was extremely dry and 3 small chunks of the corned beef. GREAT mashed potatoes and the cabbage was good. For a restaurant that sports an Irish theme, I hope the corned beef on St. Patrick Day.
Service was good, food was great, it is not handicapped accessible.
We ate at the Flat Iron during a company party. They had a buffet set up for us upstairs and we had the entire 2nd floor. The food and service was good and the restaurant and restrooms seemed clean enough. They had sliced turkey and baked chicken with potato wedges. Dessert was some frozen patries from GFS, not very impressive. As we were leaving, I saw they had a live musician performing in the main bar.
Cant quit coming back for this French onion soup, and the menu has so many delightful sounding eats! Meatloaf today, on point! Next its the ribs and the steak and the call chowder and the chili! Laundry list of things I have to try, if its anything like the French onion soup itll be amazing!
Great food and great service...ohh yeah great location too
Always a favorite. Great food!
Theres a reason Flat Iron has been around for this long. Consistently great food. Today we tried their kickin ranch wings, which were excellent. We also tried the chicken farfalle which was excellent. Our burger was cooked medium rare and tasted awesome. We love their mashed potatoes and gravy as a substitute for the fries for carry out. Highly recommend flat iron!
Expect traditional Irish Pierogi dishes in a very laid-back no commitment middle if the road restaraunt that is almost a stroll back in time in terms of service, selection and humble verbal exchanges.Area is super industrial with HUGE 5 story plus tall steel bridge structures blocking the waterfront view, almost feels like the wrong side of the tracks but the contrast & atmosphere is surprisingly pleasant with elders and children.Try the crispy Philly Cheese steak specialty hard taco fried with home-made soft meaty queso center. They are only available on Taco Tuesday is what Shannon said.Honest people, good food, decent prices.
Ryan kindly let us make reservations for the upstairs area which was great. Shelby was our waitress who was not only attentive but she made good recommendations for what to select off of the menu. The pierogies, wings, fries and donut-sized onion rings were all fantastic. And both Shelby and Dave answered our questions about the haunted history of the building including the fire which took 3 lives when it took the upper 2 floors and the finding of dimes from someone beyond wanting to communicate. All in all would highly recommend going to this historic pub!
Had the Irish flight. Awesome beer choices.
The food here was great. Everyone was so nice here. This is a family place were you can sit and eat with your kids.
Good food. Classic bar. Serves guineas draft and angels envy bourbon.
Great news great food. Friendly staff members😎
Their wings are awesome! Highly recommend the chipotle cinnamon and the kickin bourbon. Quick service and reasonable prices, you cant go wrong here.
Great food at moderate prices! Free shuttle to the Cleveland Indians baseball games.
Planned a visit to museum in Cleveland. My family and I arrived an hour early so decided to have lunch first. I called ahead to see if they were open and how busy it was. Person on phone assured us we could eat within an hour. We were seated and given menus and drinks. I indicated that we have one hour to dine. 25 min later, server asked if we needed anything. Well, food would be nice, but at that point, we only had 30 minutes left. She recommended the soup du jour as it could be served in minutes. So, thats what we did, 5 bowls of shrimp bisque, which was delicious and we were content. After ordering soup and drinks, paying our bill, and leaving, the chef from kitchen came out to doorway shouting in my face to never come back and to go to McDonalds if we want fast food. I tried to ask what was wrong, but was met by his finger in my face and shout McDonalds repeatedly. We had planned a day exploring Cleveland and this restaurant put a few of us in tears, especially since we never even complained to anyone about the slow service at all! Very bizarre! My daughter and her friend have autism. My brother has a traumatic brain injury. They were upset and quite frightened! I would NOT recommend this place. The most awful restaurant experience ever!
Good food, beer and service. Give it a try if youre out that way.
Very unfortunate. 4pm on a Saturday. Hour and 1 and 10 minutes for what turned out to be an awful sandwich. Skimpy on the Rubbery corned beef with raw fries. The greasy nachos took 40 minutes to arrive with the cold chili. Not even a sorry for the delay or a lets make it right for you Never again.
The burgers was pretty good, didnt enjoy the onions at all. Our waitress was really nice though.
My wife and I went to the Flat Iron Cafe to have dinner and see some live music (guitar duo). The Flat Iron is a charming smaller Cafe that has some history in Cleveland. The FIC has a great feel to it and the food, drinks and service were excellent. Very happy to have been introduced by friends to this place and will definitely be going back.
Family outing great food and the service was great.
Had a couple appetizers. Not bad.
Food is terrible I had Perch and Cole slaw and Ruben it was disgusting
Food is great and very reasonable.
