If you havent been there before and want to rent a sailboat, be prepared. After taking a 30 question multiple choice test about sailing (I missed one question!) I was able to rent a 17 Hobiecat for an hour with my daughter. You dont have to take it again if you return. We also rented a couple stand up paddle boards and paddled out to the little sand island in the bay. They have a great variety of boats to take out, just call and make sure they are available first.

I took a summer camp here a couple years ago and came back after a while to the staff being even cooler than I remember. This place is so cool it has everything you can think of, everyone is friendly and it’s overall just a great environment to learn and to chill. We’ll be here year round, but I’m more than excited to keep coming back :)

Excellent service and staff. I enjoy taking a boat out, every other weekend. They are excellent when it comes to safety but not overbearing in allowing you freedom to go out and do it yourself if you demonstrate your knowledge.10/10 would sail with them anytime. For those that are new, they do offer lessons.

Im sure this place is generally fine. I’m personally not a guest, but my friend is, so this was my only experience with them.Yesterday I went out on a hobie cat from this place and the winds went from 9 knots to 19 knots in the 30 minutes we were out. The boat ended up flipping in the marina and then floated away, pulled by the sails in the strong winds.A rental club like this should have a lookout and in a situation like this, and should send someone out immediately when a sailboat flips to make sure everyone was fine. This particular day, we found out after this whole ordeal that there were too many reservations and they were too busy to have a lookout. So my two friends and I were stranded for an hour in 60 degree water trying desperately to get a boat’s attention to pick us up. A human being can only last in 60 degree water for 1-3 hours without dying. Finally, after an hour, the little toot drove by us and spotted us and rescued us! By this time, I personally could not even stand or climb up the ladder to the boat because I was shivering too much and had a small case of hypothermia so my legs weren’t working. (Not to mention I had just spent the last hour fearing for mine and my friend’s lives) The coast guard had to carry me to the ambulance and it took me two hours of violent shivering trying to warm up to even be able to walk. This all could have been avoided if the lookout that was supposed to be looking out from the Clearwater Community Sailing was doing what he was supposed to be doing and sent someone to rescue us immediately.THANK YOU to the crew and passengers of the Little Toot for spotting us and giving us jackets and blankets before the coast guard came to bring us to the ambulances.

Very nice experience. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that is was a little hike to the water, and once you get there, It cost $25 a day to rent an umbrella and chair. Also lots and lots of kids. If you want an adult vacation, this is not it. You also need to take a trolley or drive most places. Otherwise, very friendly staff and nice stay.

Event 06/23/18I would not recommend this venue to anyone. If at all possible, I’d provide a 0-star review. I was very unsatisfied with the professionalism and candor of this establishment. I relayed to the venue that I would have a maximum of 190 guest. They informed me that they could only provide 130 chairs as that was all that they had. We agreed, per our contract 150 quest would attend. Additionally, we paid $200 to have 70 more chairs delivered. Upon arrival, there were only 90 chairs provided for my guest, however, this establishment has in total 250 plus chairs and the remainder were locked in storage. When asked why I was only told there were only 130, their response was because in the instance there are damaged chairs. Although, this was upsetting to find out that customers pay extra for chairs when the venue has them, my biggest upset was the lack of chairs provided for my event. Not only was it an embarrassment for me, but they disregarded our contractual agreement and I paid for a service that was not provided in full. Do not use this venue or any of its services!

We were very pleased by our experience working with the Clearwater Community Sailing Center for our wedding reception. The space was beautiful, the set-up was exactly what we asked for, and I especially appreciated Erins flexibility with the timing for deliveries and pick-ups of the items we ordered for the space.

The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Boats and equipment are well kept and most often ready with little or no setup. Safety of their sailors and patrons is top of mind as they continually monitor radar and weather and check on the younger users. Wish we had found this place years ago. Justin gave a great sailing lesson.

My son started sailing at a summer camp 5 years ago and ever since, Clearwater Community Sailing Center has become our second home. We met great people and are led by great coaches which have inspired all our youth to be competitive while maintaining the best sportsmanship. Our kids have made friends all around the world and we met people from many different states and countries. CCSC does formidable service to the community including camp awesome (for kids in the autística spectrum), disable kids and adults - contact Sailsbilty: a great group of folks that do all for getting disable people to sail in a safe environment -. CCSC also host the anual never say never foundation camp with 50 kids with different disabilities and their families, fully supported by Paralympic Silver Medalist: Brad Kendall. Adults can rent boats but for the value (great), it’s best to become member and have unlimited access to all boats. You don’t know how to sail? There are classes for adults. Last, you are more into paddling? We have a great paddle group - Kai Aniani - and recreational paddle boards and kayaksGreat great place!!!

CCSC is the gem of Tampa Bay! We love coming here to sail and really enjoy what Clearwater-Tampa really is best known for, its water and beaches! At CCSC, the staff is always so helpful and friendly and the choice of sailing boats and windsurfers cannot be beat! We sail the Getaawy 16 catamaran mostly, but sometimes take out the trimaran Weta, and windsurf also when winds are heavier. This place is so convenient nestled in Sand Key and its facilities make it so enjoyable with showers and changing rooms to be able to change into dry clothes and go out on the town!
