We were supposed to get a phone call and text before the repair person arrived. We never got either. The repair person apparently showed up 3 minutes after the earliest time he was supposed to show up. There were two people at home in our house. The repair person then reported to the scheduling service that no one was home and apparently went to the next call. We received an email that no one was home. We called the scheduler and asked them to turn the repair person around. We got promises via a chat and from our several phone calls to a live person that they regretted our problem. We waited for five hours and called numerous times. No one ever showed up and no one ever rescheduled our appointment. No one ever called us. We are never using Sears Appliance Repair again.

Needed a new compressor for our under 5 year old Kenmore fridge. The service man did not have the compressor and would have to order it which would take another week. Plus the compressor that was going to be put into my fridge was inferior to the one that originally came with the fridge AND it would only have a 90 day warranty. The service to tell us this cost over $150. The cost of the repair would be almost as much as a new fridge. So we bought a new fridge.

Ramon was very professional, courteous, friendly and arrived early in the time window. He had the part needed and fixed our washer quickly. The repair was reasonably priced and for a little extra he cleaned the dryer as well. The washer is still running perfectly.

The representative was personable, efficient, and took his time to do the job right. He was the first representative that had equipment for our refrigerator that was updated and correct for our refrigerator. We have had to replace this ice machine before and they never had the updated equipment that this gentleman had. It was actually an insulated icemaker so the fan doesn’t get frozen over again. I was very impressed with his work he spent a lot of time and we were the last ones on his route. So it was about 830 before he was finished. He called us to let us know when he was going to show up. We were scheduled the Friday before and the repairman that night never called, never text messaged and let us know when he was going to show up. It also was a three to 6 o’clock appointment and I had to call Sears twice once at 6 o’clock and once at 7:45 to find out where that repair man on Friday where was. Again this repair man on Monday, September 24 was very courteous called us let us know where he was on his route and when he was going to be at our house. I was again very impressed with his work with and his courteousness. I would recommend him again to anyone. Thank you Sears for hiring such a competent individual!

**Please note this is for an out-of-warranty service**We purchased a Kenmore washer/dryer from Sears about four years ago. We recently moved and took both appliances with us, as theyre both in great shape.When I scheduled my Sears service appointment, I clearly explained that our washer/dryer needed to be re-installed after the move. However, in the moving process, the dryer vent was damaged, so this was both an installation and a repair process. I was reminded that our appliances were out of warranty but agreed to move forward because, with a baby, we just needed laundry services ASAP.On the day of the appointment, a very nice Sears repairman came to our house. However, he was confused when I said the appliances werent installed because he was here for a repair. I explained the situation and he really went the extra mile, calling the main office to get job codes for installations (his code book was only for repairs). I was really pleased that everything was neat, tidy and operational when he left.I dont have a single complaint about the actual service. I do, however, feel like we paid a hideous amount for the service, especially after the repairman explained there are different fee structures for installs vs. repairs. I nearly choked when the final tab came to just over $400. But there was absolutely nothing we could do since the service was already performed and this wasnt the repairmans fault.I will never use Sears for another out-of-warranty repair again.

I bought the riding mower on line from Sears in 2011By 2013 the engine was running very poorly and had been for a whileso I called Sears before my warranty ran out to have someone come out and see is they could fix the problem. A technician from Sears came out, went over the machine and could find nothing wrong, and it was left at that.For the next two years I applied all my mechanical know how, down to cleaning the carburetor, with no improvement. In fact finally the mower deck would not run without stalling the engine.So I called up Sears again, this time on my dime.The man came out and said it was a bad carburetor and proceeded to fix my lawn mower. A few hours later he comes to the door and explains the engine is blown. Then explains that he cannot take the carburetor back as it is now used. So he charged me $200 (estimate was $300) wanted to give me a break and went on his way.Now I have a lawn tractor with a new carburetor (installed at a discount) with a totally dead engine.Sears has promised to not charge me the cost of the carburetor ($200 down to $100)but would hear nothing of my complaint of the engine not working from the get-go and someone from their repair shop saying while on warranty the engine is fine.I was truly screwed

My microwave was arcing. I got a ridicules lecture about putting spoons in it while cooking. I told him that I would never do that. He cleaned the burnt spot, tested it by heating a glass of water for 1 minute, and left. After he left I heated something for 2 minutes and it arced again and stopped working altogether. It will take a week to get a technician out for another attempt at fixing it. My recommendation: If you need your microwave repaired, call someone else.

After a month, the repair of my refrigerator is complete, I hope. The new compressor that was installed is much louder than the previous one, so I am hoping this is not an issue. I give three stars because I had the diagnostic done, then had to wait 2 weeks to have someone come out to put the parts in. One of the parts either was no good, or the tech installed it wrong, and left without checking to ensure the fridge had started to cool. He told me to give it 24 hours, and after that time, the fridge hadnt cooled at all. I was able to get another tech out that day, who ordered another replacement part. After waiting another week, the fridge is finally working, albeit, more loudly than before.

Our New Kenmore Elite dryer has not been drying clothes without putting extra time or running twice or three times to get clothes dry. Our repair man was very thorough and checked everything. He discovered our dry vent was clogged. He was extremely helpful in explaining how this effects the dryer and explained what we needed to do next to fix the problem. The only problem was it took Sears six days to get the repair man to our house. I’m still giving 5 stars because our repair man was awesome.

Had to be rescheduled when the technician got a flat tire. Thats okay, and I understand that type of thing cannot be helped. However, in re-scheduling three of the warrantied appliances were scheduled for on day and the fourth on a different day. Fortunately I called to double check and was able to schedule all four for the following day. The technician was prompt, professional and got the job done beautifully. I think the issue is a poor scheduling and communication system. Four star rating is for the customer service representative that fixed the scheduling issue and the technicians expertise and caring attitude.

The repair service was fine but the prior week I was told that if I bought the one year home warranty I would receive half off the repair. At first the repair person said the discount would only be on one of the machines but then he spoke with someone on the phone who approved 50% off on both machines. I paid the repair for both machines less the discount as well as the first month payment for the home warranty. A week later on this repair I was told there was an outstanding amount due which was the other half of the repair on the second machine. I explained that it was approved for both machines. The repair person called and spoke with someone who would only approve it for 25% so I had to pay the difference. As far as Im concerned this is a bait and switch. Exceptionally poor customer service on the part of Sears and I am extremely unhappy. The home warranty isnt that great of a deal and I wouldnt have done it if Id known.

I appreciated the easy appointment scheduling online, complete with increasingly accurate ETAs so I knew when to expect the technician. Our technician was courteous and professional. He found the issue with our dryer and already had the parts! Once I agreed to the estimate, he replaced the part and got the dryer up and running. The overall cost was less than we thought it would be. We would definitely use Sears Appliance Repair again.

I had two different technicians come to my home on the same day. One for my GE washer that was not working right an one for my annual checkup on my GE stove top and double ovens. Both techs were very knowledgeable and helpful. They took care of my issues and answered questions I had. I highly recommend Sears repair service.

Propbably not really the techs fault, he did check the convection fan and i told him it wasnt working and had been noisy - he started it up and it was only trivially noisy - an hour after he left, the fan sounded like a propeller striking the fuselage, so loud we called and made another appointment for the same issue - the thing to do is replace the darn thing

Window was 1-5 PM. Was notified by phone, but tech showed up at 6:15. After 1 1/2 hours and $330 later he declared the washing machine was good to go. Next morning tried to wash a load of clothes....SAME PROBLEM,... PLUS, now it also leaks water on the floor. You would think I would be a propriety for a reschedule, but I have to wait 5 days for another service call! For 27 years we have been loyal Sears customers, buying appliances, tools, tires, etc. We will now re-think ANY purchase from Sears. Tech just came out AGAIN and guess what??!! Its now a NEW problem and, of course, he does not have the part so I had to pre-pay another $130 and now have to wait another week!! GOOD BY SEARS! Well get this repaired, but...NEVER AGAIN will I step inside a sears store. NEVER!!!

The technician arrived on time and was courteous. I had made the call because my freezer was at 14 degrees instead of zero, as displayed as the set temperature on the front panel. He said that my thermometer was not accurate, but he did not have a thermometer with him. He suggested that I buy a target thermometer that read instantly and accurately. I did purchase one and measured the temperature and it read 10 degrees, instead of zero, as set on the display on the front panel.I will not bother calling again unless it looses more coolness.

It took forever on the phone to get an appointment to have my water heater installed. Scheduling the installation didnt work at all. I did it twice and never got a response. The work done by Preferred Plumbing is good and the plumber helped me get a couple of discounts (why the rating is three rather than two stars), but he was supposed to show up today to complete the work and he didnt. I didnt receive any communication for why he couldnt come either.

The work was done on time and the technicians were friendly. They repaired our dryer. Very disappointed, however, that the venting hose was somehow disconnected and not reconnected properly. Our laundry room is now like New Orleans in August. I will have to climb back there and fix it when I have the time. Would have been a 5 star review if not for that.

Our dryer repair technician was top notch. However, Sears repair dispatch was disorganized, unhelpful, and really frustrating to deal with both online and over the phone.We scheduled a regular maintenance for both the washer and dryer to be done at the same time. That was not what happened without significant hassle and effort on the part of myself and the repair tech.When our technician arrived a short conversation signaled he was unaware that he was to service both machines. He explained that he was diverted in lieu of the scheduled tech. Without a work order, he was not allowed to do the maintenence on the washer.It took over 45 minutes on the phone with dispatch, plus two calls to his manager to try to get the mess straightened out. The tech was on the phone to his manager while I was on the phone to dispatch!The tech did an excellent job and certainly went above the call of duty in having 45 minutes of his day wasted on phone calls for a service call which could have been completed seamlessly.Sears dispatch, both the online and phone scheduling, needs some major upgrades to be competitive with local service companies.

Repair was not successful. Repairman said parts were not available for anoven this old. Recommended buying a new one and not using the self-cleaning function because its high heat would cause it to fail sooner. Mightas well keep the one I have. Everything works except the self cleaning function.

My dryer broke the evening of July 3rd and I called to schedule a repair. I was a little frustrated that I could not get it scheduled before July 12th, but that was the earliest available. Repair was scheduled between 8am and noon. When no one arrived by 12:45 I called to find that it had been changed to estimated arrival of 1:45. I would have liked to have been called and fortunately I had not scheduled anything immediately after that. He actually arrived at about 1:15.However, once the repairman arrived, he worked quickly and had my machine torn apart in minutes, located the problem, and though he didnt have the exact part, he knew enough about the machine and the parts he was carrying to be able to make the repair with an alternate part right away. The dryer was back up and running again and even quieter than ever in about 45 min!Over all, except the scheduling and late arrival, I was happy with the actual repair. So far its working well. Im hoping it continues that way!!

In general the service with Sears is good, however regarding garbage disposal appliance Im disappointed, two times they have come to review the unit and the two times they told me the unit needs to be replaced however as they dont provide installation on the units then they seem to not be able to resolve my issue. I paid for the protection but when I need it it is so hard to make it effective and have my issue resolved. They asked me to call another party because there was a recall on the device, I called and the unit is not part of the recall, so not sure where this will end up.

Lawn tractor wouldnt start. Technician cleaned the carburetor and got it to start by jumping it with a battery pack. He tested my (brand new) battery, and it showed at the proper 12.5V, but still wouldnt start it on its own. Then he billed $70 for labor, and told me not to tell Sears what he had done or hed have to charge even more. Now my mower wont start again and Im afraid to call and get bullied into paying when I feel like my extended warranty should cover it.

Called for an appointment, the soonest they could come out was a few weeks later. Once they came out, they couldnt fix the problem, so they came back a few weeks later to do the actual repair after they had the correct parts. The total charge for the repair was $500 for parts and labor. Unfortunately the repair wasnt done correctly, so we had to call them back a third time, but they couldnt come back for a few more weeks. We are now almost 2 months since we first called for a repair and have been charged almost $500 and we still dont have a working dishwasher. Maybe the worst part is the dishwasher was 1 year and 1 day old when it broke, so Sears wont consider this a warranty repair even though we originally bought this from Sears. So much for Sears long standing high quality customer service.

Previous repair tech ordered a new, (cosmetic) piece of trim which had come UN(double-sided) taped from the microwave. The tech, who came to install, refused to place the part on without charging me. I have just purchased an extended warranty - the best extended warranty available (fix or replace) - costing me $3,000.00 for 4 appliances...and they cant install a simple piece of trim, which has already been paid for by SEARS??? If I could give no stars I would! Most unprofessional technician ever! Before even looking at the issue or hearing me out the tech quoted me $600 for repair.. he told me his job is to charge me for as much as he can and get as much money from me as possible!! He insisted that all the bearings were bad even though I told him it had been making this noise since it was delivered and set up by Sears. I told him I barely had 40 hrs clocked on the machine. The tech told me to just use it anyway because Im lightweight. He stayed oil on it which did nothing! He was here a total of 5 minutes for $99. A total rip off

My refrigerator started making a noise and the ice maker stopped working, the technicians solution was to unplug the refrigerator for 72 hours and it should fix-it. Ridiculous! What caused the problem to begin with? I paid over $3000 for this refrigerator and have had it about 2 1/2 years and it needs to be unplugged for 3 days to fix it. Now I need to call them back to find out what was really wrong with it. Wasted my time.

Absolutely disgusted with their customer service!!! Its been over three weeks since they misdiagnosed our problem with our trash compactor and they then ordered the incorrect part. Message after message was sent through their customer service department to their parts department (which is the only solution they offer) and we still dont have a working trash compactor. We asked for a refund since it was misdiagnosed and the wrong part was ordered and we are now told to wait for an email with regards to the possibility of a refund. It was their screw up and they expect their customers to pay the price!! We move out in three days and now have to start all over with a new company and we are out our money for the first incorrect diagnosis and repair! Their customer service is HORRIBLE!! ABSOLUTELY would not recommend this company to anyone!!!!!

The technician ordered parts and charged me for my dishwasher repair. When the parts did not arrive after eight business days I called to see what their status was. I was told by customer service that parts were already installed on my dishwasher and my repair was complete. My receipt is VERY clear. The parts are on order and another appointment (that I already paid for) is necessary before my dishwasher will function properly. Sears now promises to send a different tech to investigate. Hopefully that tech will bring the part and actually do the repair!

Hit and MIss Repair Service Because Sears contracts with other repair companies, you do not know what you are getting. This last time we had a wonderful repair experience, but the time before (a different contractor) it was the worst experience of all. The first repair on the dryer only lasted an hour or two. The call-back got sent to the bill to address, not the dryer location address (two different cities!!). But Sears was really apologetic and made every effort to get it right the third time, and they did. So Im giving them 4-Stars due to effort and attitude, also known as Customer Service. Remember when we had Customer Service? 2nd repair seems to be holding.

The tech came and did a good job. Dryer was repaired quickly. I although I use sears for most of our appliance repair that are under warranty... This time dryer had none.Most other companies either have free estimates or the fees are use towards the repair. The$79.00 was too steep, just to come look to see what needs to be one...with additional cost for the repair. Total was 154.00 because I used 20°/° coupon I found online. rollers that need to be replaced. Felt we overpaid for a simple service. Probably not going g to use them again.

I just dont understand why theres always two visits: one to assess the problem, and order parts if needed; and, the second one to do the actual work; it always seems like an awful waste of time and money --- both mine and yours --- how do you make any money doing it like this...shouldnt you try to anticipate what parts you need ahead of time based on what the customer says is wrong with their appliance and stock the truck with them so you only have to make one trip? GEEZ!

Probably the worst Sears experience ever. This bad experience was worse than the last worst Sears experience. Sears is horrible. The worst customer service, the worst scheduling system, and people that absolutely do not care. Unbelievable at how bad the support is from this company that may be going out of business.The people answering the 800 call center are in the Philipines.Then your work gets subcontracted to a no-name fly-by-night worker.Then, the subcontractor is a no-show.Then, you cant reach the subcontractor because they have no office.Then, Sears doesnt know what sub is doing the work nor do they know how to reach the sub.Do Not do business with Sears!

The website is Okay but local in home repair staff was not compatent. Installed water heater burner and controller crimping 2 small gas lines which you can see in the picture causing system to shut off every 15 minutes.

The tech was ontime and fixed the loose freezer hand in five minutes. I think $318 is a bit much for 5 minutes, expecially when i already diagnosed the problem, but lacked the tool to tighten the screw that was loose.

Refrigerator went out. Called but it was three days before I could get a Tech out ... BUT I had the 3 year repair service contract including insurance on spoiled food, so I put in a claim and was sent a check immediately.PLUS, the tech showed on time and fixed the problem within the hour of arrival.So, I was compensated for the wait and given excellent service upon arrival. Cant beat that.

We made a appt and they never showed up. We called and the repair tech called in sick. A phone call would have been nice,telling us so,as we waited ALL day. On the other hand, the next day when the tech showed up, he was prompt, courteous and got the job done. Jim is a great tech!

When I made the appt I told Sears it was for washer and dryer. When the repairman arrived he told me he was only here to look at the dryer. I told him that was crazy because I made the spot for both and I shouldnt have to wait for another repair person. He called Sears and was then able to look at both.

When the tech arrived the washer worked fine it was just loud during the spin cycle . The tech replaced the transmission and now the spin cycle will not work at all. He said he was sorry and left us high and dry. He did leave us a phone number to call which we tried several times and left a message. No one has ever returned our calls. What a way to run a business. I may never buy from Sears again.

I was not pleased at all with the level of service until the 2nd serviceman came to my house. The issue was related to my dishwasher which would start up then drain and stop. The first serviceman came out ran it once and said you need a new motor and quoted a $350 total price. I was kind of stuck so I agreed and paid for a new motor and we scheduled a date/time for him to come and replace it. When I didnt get a confirmation email, as promised, I called and received very uninterested and unhelpful service from the customer service rep who ultimately verified the date and time. When the day came, a different serviceman came out who immediately took the existing motor apart and found a piece of plastic that was causing the issue. He also found that the drain was clogged and fixed that. He was extremely helpful and took care of the issue in less than an hour. Unfortunately, I had to use a full vacation day to have something done in less than an hour.
