I give it a one rating because... it wasnt the people but the companys fault I believe they had one guy working...the whole show... there was a line for people trying to get cars... there was no cars there ...the guy was by his self he was trying to serve people ...and he had to intake cars it was ugly I would definitely recommend calling and confirming with this location my buddy confirm the night before a car... and when he went to pick it up that day they didnt even have any cars
If you book a car reservation online, you have to call them to make sure they actually have the car type. Unfortunately, the Mitchell Ave location doesn’t seem to actually be able to pick up the phone and connect you to a person who can confirm reservation.Last week, I had a reservation for a car and 15 minutes before I was scheduled to pick it up, I got a text that said they had no cars. When I got to the Hertz, the employees said they only had passenger vans. I spent about an hour calling different rental places and almost got stuck with no car because no other company had rentals available. I eventually got a text message notifying me that a car had been brought in. The staff said I could avoid this problem by calling the day before to confirm that they had cars available.I have a second reservation for this weekend and I tried to call them twice to confirm the vehicle. Instead of giving confirmation, one of the employees answered the phone. In one call, he said the booking agent wasn’t available and took my number down for a callback. I never received a call. In the second call, he answered, put me on hold, and never came back to the phone. I really hope they have the car I reserved at the Hertz because nobody there seemed to be able to answer my questions by phone.
Great experience was able to rent a wonderful reliable car to go out of town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great place! If you need a car be sure to stop by they will help you.
I rented a car for my birthday. The car was not clean, the gas tank was not full and the oil was at 60% . Dwayne, the manager, apologized for not being able to price match as Brad told me to come down and they would match the price. I rented the car for 5 days and returned it on time. They waited 3 extra days before charging my card. So the $200 deposit that was supposed to be returned back to my card never happened!!!! I tried to call and talk to Dwayne but he kept avoiding me. He would put me on hold and never come back to the phone. I contacted their billing department and the told me that I was charged for 3 EXTRA days because Dwayne, the manager, failed to put in the system that I returned the car until 3 days later! It took over a month to get my deposit back and I still didn’t get all of it. Do not rent a car from this place!!! Go anywhere else but Hertz on Mitchel Ave.

Reservations apparently mean nothing here. Reserved my vehicle, arrived early, waited in line for 35 minutes once there only to find out that they had no cars available. Dont even chance going here.

Rented a SUV for three weeks. Got arbitrarily charged interior cleaning fee of $100 after returning the vehicle. Location seems to be closed. Phone transferred to another location when calling. Billing department refers to the web site. When submitting the form on the web site I get “internal server error”.

Excellent service from start to finish. I had to get a rental while my car was in the body shop across the lot. Even though they didnt really have any vehicles the day i showed up they found something for me. It was a monster pickup truck which i ended up having to bring back because i had so much trouble climbing in and out of it. Plus it scared me to drive it. No problem they got me in a Ford which was more my speed. I just dropped it off this evening. Again no problems at all. I had gone over what the insurance would pay so i did have to come out of pocket but the same 2 guys i dealt with day one were the same 2 there when i checked out. They both made everything quick and easy. I have no complaints only praise!
2020 Altima road wonderfully filled up once going to ATL and coming back home great price for 4days took it back a day early. My next driving trip Ill be back.

Ive read the reviews and Im shocked by the comments. Hertz has exceptional customer service!For several years Ive rented from Hertz, specifically, the Mitchell location because it is conveniently located in my neighborhood. I also choose them for their excellent customer service, expedient rental service, low daily rates, and their excellent rewards program, it is the best car rental option. Im able to pick up my rental car in less than 10 minutes.
Terrible service. Been waiting 16 min and they are just now on their way to pick me up. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again-and State Farm Insurance should reconsider doing business with them. If I could give them 0 stars I would.Update-they showed up 30 minutes late. Whe . I expressed my frustration, the driver gave me attitude. Really???
They are not the cheapest, but by far, have the best availability, best selection and best quality vehicles, with the most locations worldwide.My God. This sounds like an ad, but it is not.Just remind yourself that the bitterness of poor quality lasts longer than the sweetness of low price.

These guys did very well at identifying to the customer what would incur charges. This was very helpful to me. I did not have to wait and I got a brand new 2017 to drive that was very clean. If I ever need to rent a car in the future, I will definitely be returning here!
Go here for Insurance rentals. Staff always nice but only have one person there so they always seem to be juggling phones and people at counter.
Efficient, friendly service. Impossible to see from Mitchell Ave - look for the signs across from the BP gas station. Drive about 600 yards back behind the car dealership. (Again, follow yellow Hertz signs).This place does a lot of insurance vehicle replacement business- so they don’t always have a ton of cars in stock (reserve in advance in other words)
I purchased Nissans 2015 Sentra car was certified after owning the car one year and 3-months. Per Nissans Palm Springs CA, and Aamco Palm Springs CA, stated that the transmission needs to be replaced. I made complaint to my lender Chase Bank, they contact Hertz Corporate office which I was told to contact Hertz Riverside CA managerTo come to agreement....I have been talking to Hertz Riverside manager team from 11/18 to currently. Manager still continue to give me the run around. I will report Hertz car sales to the better business bureau.
This location used to have great customer service. Now not to sure... Better off going to Airport location. This location charges a $200 hold on your credit card on top of rental. Airport doesnt charge extra hold fees

I had to use them due to an insurance company reimbursement after an auto accident. While I was waiting to get an estimate and take my car into the shop Hertz would call everyday either after 5pm or before 9am to ask about a date for the reservation. Once I had the reservation to drop my car at the shop I had to call Hertz multiple times and leave my contact information with a promise to return my phone calls. Of course they never returned the phone call. Once I finally got the appointment with them set up I also needed to be picked up at the body shop. To no surprise they were not there to pick me up. When I called Hertz about the issues they said the appointment was not verified. I then asked why a call was not made to verify the appointment. I was told they called the body shop which could not release my information (good for the body shop). I then asked why I was not contacted and they replied they did not have my number on file. This clearly was not the case as I had left multiple messages with Hertz and then gave my number when I made the appointment. Theory is they did not have someone to dispatch to pick me up and they knew the body shop would provide great customer service and deliver me to Hertz. Before hanging up I was assured the rental car would be ready to go. However when I arrived there was a sign that said they were away from the desk and to call. It took another 20-30 minutes to be serviced despite just getting a promise from a Hertz representative that the car would be ready. This particular location is understaffed, provided poor communication and did not live up to their word. I have patience and understanding for being under staffed but do not make commitments to customers that you can not fulfill. That is frustrating and a waste of time.
The rental started out a little bumpy, not due to anything Hertz did. My Hertz agent Porsha stepped in and rectified the problem, she worked with me until I was able to secure a vehicle after having my car totaled in an accident. The car was nice and clean she explained how to use the gadgets in the rental. All the agents that worked with me were very helpful and courteous. Jason made the check-in easy and carefree. I highly recommend Hertz Rental and I must say that I would be hard pressed to rent from anyone else.

I DO NOT advocate renting from this Hertz branch.Ive had pleasant interactions with the Mitchell Ave location in the past (3+ years ago), but nearly anything but recently as the majority of the interactions I had with the employees demonstrated a lack of customer care, confusion, deception, and questionable practices.The good:The in and outside of the car provided was clean and drove well, outside of a few documented minor dings and scratches.The pick-up service driver was a delight to chat with.And now the bad...:Of the four times I called the branch twice I was asked if I could be placed on a short hold immediately upon calling. Short = five and eight minutes apparently; one being later answered up by a different employee that didnt acknowledge that I was on hold and the other being automatically transferred to voicemail after the eight minutes on hold.On July 10th, 2019 I called, requested, and received a confirmation for a pickup ride for the 11th. The pickup time came and went with no pickup nor communication. I called the branch inquiring as to if I was going to picked up and they employee has no record of my request and stated that no driver was scheduled/available that day. They did schedule a successful pickup the following day, but the employee failed to adjust the rental return date/time as requested as the reservation would now be starting on a different day. Additionally, while the pickup driver called me when they were outside, they did not call earlier to share their ETA/confirm the pickup.During the pre-rental inspection process I was asked to sign on a phone that was lacking any contractual text nor was I explained what I was signing for. When I asked the employee they stated that I was agreeing to acknowledging the dings and scratches that we had identified during the process, but I quickly realized that not only had the employee tapped through the contract verbiage that we meant for me, but they had also filled out the Customer Survey on my behalf, which, among others, included the question Do you feel like a valued customer for which they had answered Yes... THIS IS NOT OKAY.This rental was made as a personal rental, but was for a car accident (The reservation was made before the insurance of the at-fault party was identified). On July 23rd the insurance agent providing rental coverage made a three-way call to this location, which included me on the call. The insurance agent requested that the rental contract be transferred from me to the insurance company - a process that is requested and approved regularly with insurance companies through Hertz and other rental car companies, per the insurance agent. The call was transferred from an employee to the branch manager (Tevin Barksdale). Tevin stated that this could not be done because personal and insurance rentals are in different systems, but then later changed the justification to that the personal rental rate (higher) and the insurance rate (lower) are different and that the original higher rate must be paid. The insurance agent expressed their displacement over the outright deception.Lastly, after the rental I was provided with a website to provide feedback on my experience; I did so and relayed the above information. Hertz responded to my feedback via email but only with a templited response that did not address any of my concerns.

Fast and efficient. Picked me up at McClusky body shop and 30 minutes later I left their office in my rental. Car was not the best, pretty dirty but it drove OK.
The one in sharonville, ohio is atrocious. The customer service there was horrible. The didnt have my reserved car there when I arrived. She really didnt seem to care. She said all they had were Vans for rent and was completely unwilling to give any discount on one. After waiting 20 minutes, she located one for me. But I felt like I was totally putting her out. This was my 3rd rental from hertz. And certainly my last. I will definitely be shopping around next time.
Some of the worst customer service I have experienced, comparable to cable companies
Made an appointment to rent, was helped by Keith, who got me into the schedule same-day. When I arrived at appointed time, there was a car available in very clean condition and the paperwork was easy-peasy. While I have specific interests in what cars I drive (automatic trans and I dont get along), the reasons for why standard trans vehicles are not available were well elaborated and rational. To ice the cake, the service rep offered me a vehicle with slapstick function (not the same as a standard, but at least it is a good try), to which I was grateful (and later, more confused, considering the absence of a clutch pedal -- old habits die hard, folks). Nonetheless, the car was enjoyable and served the purpose for the time I needed it. AAA memberships work wonders. I had to retain the car for a couple of days longer than originally signed up for, and upon making a phone call to Hertz and working through Whitney, I found I only had to pay about 20 USD more than originally signed up for!Overall, customer service at the Mitchell Hertz leaves nothing amiss, the process of getting through the paperwork and getting into the car is fluid, and I will be returning to this branch for future business, should the need arise! A+, folks!
This place is a joke. Never has cars. Yet Hotwire shows plenty of availability. Seriously a joke. 2 attempts and zero cars. Yet a lot full of cars. Even with a Hotwire confirmation I couldn’t get a car.

I booked a compact car at the Sharonville, OH location and 1 hour before they called my daughter to tell her that they dont have a car for her but wanted to know if she wanted to be put on the waiting list. She asjed if they had anything and they had a Midsize Suv but would only give it to her for double the price of her original rental price. I asked why cant they give her that car complimentary since its not her fault that they didnt have a car for her. Other companies do it all the time, I have had this happen several times. So I take her there so I could talk to them and get her a car. Well they didnt have one and told us we could call corporate after I asked for a Manager. Kimber said she was the branch manager and she doesnt have a car for her and that they couldnt give her a car if they dont have a car. She told us we were the last reservation and they had been sold out since last Thursday. So I asked then why was I able to book it. She just said I dont know. Well I ended up asking the other agent to see if another location had one. He called and found one so we went to the Mitchell location and Matthew was great. Nothing like the Sharonville location.

Horrible service. Bad experiences with this location twice. Ridiculously long wait on both occasions. DONT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!! 1st bad rental: car was not clean, had underwear in it & needed to be serviced (shook horribly over 45mph & had service engine light on). Had to wait 1/2 hour to get served. 2nd bad experience 1 year later: Waited 1/2 hour again only to be told the couldnt fulfill our rental sent us to Elm St location. Will NEVER rent from this location again.
Scheduled to pick up my rental car at 9 AM and showed up around 10 AM because I didnt really know it would matter if I was an hour late. Well, I showed up and they told me there was no car and they marked me as a no show. They refused to let me get any rental car and put me on a waiting list but never called back later telling me they had a car. Very poor customer service and made me 2 hours late on a trip I was planning to go to Chicago.
