Newkirks is easily the best place in Cincinnati to get your haircut. Jim and Donna are two of the friendliest people you’ll meet and the prices are great. I’ve been coming here for almost three years now and have left a happy customer every time. If you live downtown and need to get a haircut, support the local mom-and-pop barber shop walk over to Newkirks.

Additionally, they provide a friendly, family style atmosphere that is welcoming. Go to this place with a sense of humor because these are two of the nicest people youll meet and they love a good laugh. More importantly, they provide a very professional haircut for discerning people.

5 stars aint enough, best haircut experience Ive ever had. I had the pleasure of sitting in Jims chair (the owner) and while we discussed travel, motorcycles and world affairs, my head was being carefully crafted by a true artist. I simply cant say enough good things about my experience at Newkirks. The old school look of the shop, the fragrances, the music, the atmosphere. I should have been charged double what I was for my experience. I will most certainly be back, 100% positive reviews didnt happen by chance. Newkirks is the absolute best in the business.

Its a great mom-and-pop barber shop all the way downtown. They do accept walk-ins, but you should make a reservation anyway. Both of the owners are super nice and friendly, and I got a very good haircut, too. Expect to pay about $25 with a tip, though, and be aware that its cash only.

I recently relocated to work in downtown and was looking for a barber shop that I am familiar with, the old school style. I came in asking for a regular haircut and didnt have to explain further. My haircut came out as expected and I had a great conversation. Will be back again.

Excellent haircut but a bit pricey at $25. This is run by a couple who do the hair cuts themselves. They are characters.Also reservations are recommended - their schedule gets filled up.

Having been a customer to chain barbers and hair salons most of my life Ive recently found myself wondering if a real barbershop existed anywhere in Cincinnati. Newkirks is just that. The owners are very friendly and seem to be friends to most of their clients. I very much recommend to any man in need of a cut or shave.

BE ADVISED. This establishment doesn’t accept walk-in’s don’t be like me and feed a meter for an hour. Previous local guides stated that walk-in’s were accepted but reservations are recommend is inaccurate which leaves me wondering about the “so said” quality haircut for price also stated by the guides... *Thumbs up if this review was helpful*

Tried to call and schedule an appointment and get their prices a guy and a woman both told me they was busy and they did not have time to talk and a very rudely hung up on me when I tried to call back they said there’s nothing we can help you with come in and see if we have an available spot other than that we got to go and they hung up again this is a veryUnprofessional and nasty place they have trash covering their door and they are very racist for people that are not Italian or white nasty in varmint nasty place nasty people I advise you never to go there and waste your money you’ll be very unsatisfied there is a Other places downtown that will treat you better don’t ever go here please

Nothing like a great haircut and some spirited conversation. They will get to know your name because you will keep coming back.

This is a clean, well-organised barber shop, slightly off the main drag, that makes you feel welcomed when you first walk in. The prices are fair and you dont feel rushed, but are given full attention. Would def go back.
