I cant say enough good things about this place. By far, the most inclusive and welcoming gym in Chicago-proper. The coaches are top-notch and the building is clean and spacious. Definitely drop in, you wont be disappointed!

The friendliest gym I’ve been to since starting CrossFit in Texas 10+ years ago. Great coaching and programming, lots of community events, and super friendly members. The gym space is huge and clean also, plenty of indoor and outdoor space to follow distancing protocol when needed.

This gym is truly a place for ALL (levels, experiences, backgrounds, identities). The facilities are wonderful (10,000 square feet) and they are in the process of expanding and adding more (kids zone space, massage/physical therapist). Coaches are caring, attentive and knowledgeable. This place feels like home.

I have been working out here for the past three months or so and I really really like this gym. The coaches are attentive and encouraging and my fellow athletes are some of the friendliest people I have met in Chicago.I am totally new to CrossFit and I love how all of the workouts are adaptable for all people in the room. Everyone works at their level and gets a great workout every time.

Drop in! Sign in! Come in!It’s a review! A long one, but still a review! Stick with me! 👊♥️I’ve been a Hardware Crossfit member for a little over two years and I absolutely love this place. I love every single aspect of this Box. Great programming, amazing coaches and a very incredible welcoming community to be part of.None of that held me back from e-mailing the owner asking to cancel my membership a few months ago.I’m human and life got hard. I hurt my back badly, I was in way too much pain to be able to properly workout. I got sad for not achieving the results that I was used to have. I started missing classes. I got frustrated and discounted all on food. From being an active 5am/6 days week person to 2 very uncomfortable days. I isolated myself and I thought stoping would be better than bothering anyone with my personal problems. With my heart in pieces, I emailed the Head Coach saying that I was going to take some time off, hoping they would understand. For my surprised, I didn’t get an email reply. I got a call. The owner of Hardware called me to say he wouldn’t let me quit. He spent almost 1 hour talking to me. I’m an international student, with 0 family in Chicago and the people at Hardware CrossFit are the ones that I got to call family here. George, the owner, patiently heard me cry out about my physical pain and took the time to make me feel that I was not alone. After that call I went back to Hardware. We talked and I followed the advices of the head coaches.I took several steps back and crawled my way back to my fitness life in order to get my body healthy.Started a treatment for my back pain, slowed down in every single way. I focused on my nutrition and on taking a day at the time. I joined an in-house Wellness challenge to hold me accountable.I got so much support on my recovery process! ♥️From living with pain and holding everything alone for almost 4 months to an one hour call and around 3 months of dedication, I’m stronger today than when I was in my best shape last year. Comparing numbers, I’m lifting more weights than before. Kind slower still, not moving as fast as I would like to, but I’m moving 100% pain free.I don’t regret sending that cancellation email at all. On the hardest season of my life, the owner of the place I go every morning to could have simply canceled a “problematic” account. But instead, George raised the flag and Hardware CrossFit massively showed up.Not only I got customized help for my specific problem, but I also got the opportunity to keep being part of this place! But back to the review, if you are not sure if this is your place, I’m glad to say that Hardware CrossFit is a place for hurt, foreign, temporary weak people who is looking for opportunities to get healthier/stronger.To be able to get your body healthy you will need some help to keep your mind in the right place! The coaches will do their part, so everyone else here!Drop in, sign in, come in!You’re so welcome here!

This is gym is easiest one of the best CrossFit gyms in Chicago. It tough to find a gym that has both thought out and intentional workout plans and intelligent coaching. George and his team provide amazing insight to the proper way to do movements and have developed WODs suitable for all athletic abilities. Plus you get to workout with some pretty kickass people!

George and Jess (the owners) are intentional in making Hardware CrossFit an incredibly welcoming, diverse box. Ive been a member of HWCF for a year now and Im definitely sticking with it. Members from other boxes constantly comment how clean and friendly and incredibly competent HWCF is - and a lot of our members switched from other boxes! If you are curious and want to give CrossFit a try - this is definitely a great place for you.

Hardware CrossFit is a solid gym and the best one around for medium-sized CF boxes. The coaches are excellent as owner and head coach George forges them from competent athletes into exceptional trainers. I greatly enjoy the inclusive community that HWCF fosters and often find myself caught in intriguing conversations outside of the WODs (Workout Of the Day). HWCF: Recess for Adults.
