Was told to park and go inside then once inside I waited while one guy was on the phone and the other was enjoying lunch ...after a 20 minute wait I was FINALLY talked to and was informed I needed a weight ticket ....$14 by the way.....then after weighing I was given paper work and was told to proceed out the gate turn left get to underpass and wait for the parking marshall .....tried to leave but it was $40 for the use of parking lot .......what a joke...... after exiting the lot and turning left and reaching the underpass and waiting another 20 minutes was ready to give up started to drive away and seen the parking marshall sitting in a chair up the ramp .....he sent me to the wrong dock .....after getting to the correct dock and getting unloaded went to leave and followed the exit sign .....big surprise someone flipped the sign and I had to get my truck turned around ....would not recommend this place to any truck driver
Opening Lot. If you have a RV, van and trailer truck you are okay to park in the truck Marshall. If you are a truck driver and you need a safe place to park. The truck Marshall is a safe place to park. Its not free you do have to pay. I dont know how much
Prime example of Extortion! You dont unload there but they charge you $25 to pull on the lot to go in the office to get their paperwork so you can get unloaded. They also force you to use their scale twice at $11 each time for a total of $47 for them just to tell you what dock to go to. Oh and they hold your BOL whole you ate getting unloaded so to make sure you come back and scale that second time! I thought Extortion and racketeering was illegal... apparently its ok in Chicago
Dont know anything about the trucking side, but I parked an RV there and couldnt have felt safer. To see the Chicago skyline and know Im within 3 miles of downtown was great. 24 hour security. Plenty of lighting. Very few trucks came in and out so those that talk about having to wait forever, I simply didnt see it during my stay.Word of caution....call Uber or taxi. Do not even attempt to walk to find a bus stop. Nearest bus stop is 7/10 a mile away which means 7/10 mile up and 7/10 mile back. If you dont mind the walking, ok. Nice beach 2/10 walking distance.
Great to be back again doing shows and Deborah at ges is still.here cool ladie always smiling
Everything is not so bad as it seems. Let me give you an advice. If you have morning appointment, better to drive there in the evening, pay 23$ for parking and park your truck as close to the scales as possible. Why - you’ll check it out when you will try to get out ;) Wake up at 5.00 AM and walk to check in shack and take a lane. They start at 6.00 AM, just give them all the information grab paperwork and drive the buildings. There are should be a couple of security guys in your way, ask them route. Proceed to the destination and get loaded or unloaded. If you will be so lucky and get to the first 20 trucks, you should be free before 10.00 AM. In my case: 5.00 AM - Shack, 6.00 AM - Checked in; 7.00 AM - back in dock; 8.00 AM - start loading, 8.45 AM - full truck loaded. 9.00 AM - Out. Good luck!!!
RV parking in the city with safety and easy local transportation.
Busy as always, something wrong with empty and heavy weight tickets,so I have to scale myself three times instead two.
Cool place for an RV to stay while passing through Chi! $35 for a safe, monitored lot nearish everything!
Safe RV parking in Chicago
You will be here all day long trying to just get to the docks when they are holding convention/shows. I am delivering for the NRA show with a 6am appointment. It is 10am now and I am still waiting to go to the docks. Has to be over 100 trucks here waiting to deliver. Will not be back!
Nice
This place is close for semi trucks right now, call before you go there
A Nice Place Overall....Needs To Be A Little More Organized To Keep Trucks Going In And Out In A Better Paced Matter... Employee Lunch Hours Need To Be Separated So Trucks Can Still Be Loaded And Unloaded And On Their Way
I praise this place . As a out of country motorcoach driver its good to know I have a place to park, getting a cab is a challenge but that isnt relevant to the truck marshalling . Easy to get to .
Good
Came in handy to park my truck and my boat overnight. If you are rolling through Chicago with a trailer and want to spend the night, its your only option. Security could be better but everything went well and remained safe.
Make sure you have all youre info.... And if you doing a deliver make sure you got a scale ticket 🎫.
Be aware drivers. Check in at 5am. Now it’s 1pm still waiting for the phone call. Parking lot always busy. Hard to find a spot if you drive a semi truck. Potholes anywhere.
Great for RV parking. Book online ahead to guarantee a spot or pay at the booth. 24 hour security and restrooms. No shower. Easy uber or taxi to downtown. Very easy bike share location close by with access to the lake front trail. Less than 3 miles to Millennium park. Will return.
I parked my motorhome here when visited Chicago. It can be very hot on the cement pad, and can be very noisy if there are trucks or bus running air conditioners during night. You alway can hear traffic noise coming from the highway and train. It’s very convenient to visit downtown.
Pay truck parking 23$ per day. But security ll not give y any receipt, and put money to own pocket. When youll be leaving, security ll ask receipt)) if y dont have, y ll pay again( or they ll call police. Good place to park, but security sucks!
A lot of places to park, I paid 45$ to enter, i had a delivery in here i came for McCormick place the check in opens at 4 am i got there 3:35, I stayed in the line to get checked in like in 1 hour, there were like 100 truck drivers in front of me, and once I checked in they told me to wait for the a call to go back at the window, I received the call after 4 and a half hours, and one more hour to get into the door at McCormick place west building, I suggest to came earlier to check in to be first in the line and one they open you can be first.Owners I suggest not to come to deliver here you will lose like 6 to 10 hours
Not the best run yard in the convention circuit, but also by far not the worst. Overall not a bad place to unload
It should be called Truck bottlenecking yard for McCormick Convention Center. What an enormous joke! There is no reason for the existence of such utterly mismanaged complex of clowns. Exorbitantly long wait times, pothole riddled parking lot, high parking rates, incompetent security personnel (guides around the lot) are some of the reasons one should consider before ever coming here. Word of advice, prepare to waste time and get plenty of food before you come here. Good luck and dont make the mistake others have made before you!
We parked here for a night before making a delivery. seems to also be a popular place for tailgating prior to the games. it has toilet facilities which is a big plus and also has security so you feel safe as well.
We considered staying at Walmart but the neighborhoods were kind of rough. Found truck marshalling to be a good safe option at $35 a night. No hookups just an asphalt lot. Bathrooms available but no showers.
3rd time staying here, very unpleasant and can’t believe the lot can not be improved!! Last year we had portable toilets this year nothing. 35 drivers have to spend 3 days in this yard with no facilities!!! The money this facility receives they could put some sort of facility in and fix the parking lot!!!
Convenient cheap place to park in the city if you have a trailer or oversized vehicle
Dependable careful drivers and very trustworthy. Different prices depending on where you are going to move so make sure to ask how much they charge..
Had to meet my friend there. Remember its a Truck Marshalling Yard for a convention center. Lots of trucks at times.
I dont like the fact that i had to pay $23 to enter so i can make a delivery in a semi truck. Also have to scale. Extortion at its best.
Great place for parking a big rig in the city! We were in a tour bus & it was only $35. However I have to warm you there is no shore power that I am aware of or restrooms, showers ect.. just for parking!
It takes awhile if youre delivering or picking up. $23 for parking and $11 if youre using the truck scale.
Parking lot is a disaster with thousands of huge potholes! This is just wrong! At least fill the potholes! Lot needs to be completely redone. This includes area that is designated for parking for people visiting and working at the tradeshows!
This is a parking lot for commercial trucks. And it totally delivers! You bring your truck and wait here until its your turn at the docks. I highly recommend bringing snacks, and a few long form podcasts downloaded on your phone.
Safe place to leave your larger vehicles. If lot B was gated it would be perfect.
B.S. you gotta go here to deliver..and pay 23 to get in.....gotta pay em 11 to scale in and 11 to scale out....their motto..F**K YOU pay me, suprised they dont have coin slots on the Porto potties...bunch of con artists. .I just wanna deliver and leave this hell hole of a city not sit here n get screwed
Stayed here in our RV. Great spot to be downtown Chicago.
It is a good place to park any large vehicle. Reasonable rates. No washrooms!
Plenty of parking. At McCormick Place. No frills, no amenities come prepared to camp out. Dont have to pay to park if you have the password.
OK so its not posh but it is a lot that you can park in for about $30 in an RV IN CHICAGO!Drop the mic.- no hookups, no water. Boondocking in a parking space but an easy $9 UBER ride to Michigan Ave. We felt saf and secure with the many security guards watching the yard all night.
My truck was there when I returned. 5 stars
This is a very convenient place to park an RV to explore Chicago. Its $35 per day for an RV. The lot is gated, well lit, and has security patrolling the lot. I feel safe while I stayed here for 2 days with my family in a our motorhome. There were about 15 other RVs around me. I was here during the weekend of July 28th and there was a concert at the nearby Soldier Field. The Lakeshore bike trail is very close by and you can bike to all the museums, the city, and Chinatown. It is, however, a bit noisy with the train tracks near by and the car traffic. Other than that, its great place to park an RV while one is exploring Chicago. They have a water hose at main entrance, I was able to fill up my small water tank once I got in. I want to thank the gentleman at the gate on Friday (7/27) for helping me with the hose and the water spigot. It was much appreciated to be able to fill my water tank. Thank you, sir.
Great place to store a trailer and truck if needed too. Great spot for boaters!
When you come to the marshaling yard be prepared to wait . Its $23 and up to park in the yard, if your going to the McCormick place via the marshaling yard, make sure you have a booth number, also show shows make you weigh in and out that will cost you an additional $11 each time . My advice pack a lunch, bring money, make sure you have a booth number AND BE PATIENT., there is a good chance you will be there a while
Wonderful place to have access to, in the sprawling, congested city of Chicago, to park my rig/trailer when Im visiting for a few days. Its secure, well lit,(very important for girly girls who drive big rigs), the attendants are pleasant, and so far, over the last couple of years of use, there have been no incidents of any kind, i.e. no damage to my equipment, or theft, and most of all NO COSTLY, GREEDY CHICAGO PARKING TICKETS!! All this AND the very reasonable daily rate. Cant beat it. I highly recommend it.
This place is full of idiots. If I ever have to deliver here again, Ill give the load back. Ridiculous, unprofessional and unaware of whats going on in their own operation.
Easy in and out. The traffic aides were outstanding
They have one heck of a job. They seem to try to do it well. All night bathroom! Vending machines if you run out of food in the truck
It is a staging area for trucks picking up and delivering to Mccormick place convention center. it costs $21.00 to park there for 24 hours. what a scam. god help you if you use the restroom provided. i prefer the porta potty.
Safe and secured parking with in and out privilege, and a great location to boondock as its within cycling distance of Navy Pier, restaurants, and other attractions in Chicago.
Nice organised Marshalling field, waited cople hours to deliver load, finished before there predicted time.Only thing didnt like $25 parking fee
This is a very good place to park your rig, and buses because of having nowhere to park them in the Chicago area.
Got here at10:15am ans still no phone call to go to Convention center.
Short term parking free, 20 overnight, scale in and out required for conventions.
Another chicago scam. Save yourself the $45 fleecing and lots of downtime. There are better loads in and out of chicago.
That gate clerk should know that eating and talking at the same time doesnt work well when talking to customer. Generally this is poor, out dated facility. On the good side, working ppl over ther are nice and polite. Except this Gate Clerk.
$23 fee for picking up a load at the McCormick Convention Center. Really?? They require you to pay the $23 fee to park at the Marshalling yard or they wont let you check in. This is outright extortion. Illinois corruption at it finest, no wonder their last two governors are in prison!!!
Big mess getting check in out
Pay$23.00 to park to register to pick up machinery from show drive thru potholes in parking aera than walk to the pothole parking to office wait in line for hard card than go to truck and wait for phone call to walk back thru potholes.parking to pick up papers to then walk back to truck to drive to McCormack placs to wait in line again than wait to get loaded
Great place to park when visiting Mike & Sophia in Chicago.
Best place to park a large vehicle in Chi-Raq.
Very busy place. But at least Connies Pizza delivering pizza here makes it better
Loads of space for parking coaches and trucks. easy to get to
ThanxYOU for Sharing 🇺🇸 #BearsFans
Paid parking. But its quiet with facilities
Id youre into BDSM, youll love the truck marshalling at McCormick Place! Paying extra to be teased and then screwed!!!
These young poeple dont remember when it was a sea of mud and deep potholes. They just complain about everything. It was free back then unless you had to call a tow truck to get you unstuck. Count your blessings and pay the 23.00 and quit your bitchen.
Its a big place for trucks, easy access, especially for big vehicles but the price is too high, if you spend a long amount of time there. $23, daily.
If u have delivery to Mccormick place check in here in office. Ask direction Cuz they think u born here. rat in security house will try to make money on you for entrance to parking lot. 2 stars Cuz been here 2 times, first time I had good experience in office but security wanted to make money on me. Second time, and office and security were not helpful. Hopefully never be back here.
Friendly staff at GES, always smiling and laughing
I was caught off guard about the $23 fee for parking where they make you park outside of that all in all not bad to unload at this place.
Yeah its a parking lot. Park here to deliver at mc cormick. Theres port a poties and a restroom at the driver check in building. The people here are friendly and helpful
The security guard who sometimes lets me park for free..... he is my superhero.
I can park my rig there, and its close to downtown! ¥@¥!!!
Tailgated over here! Fun spot
If you are in an RV like we were there is no better place to stay. It is just a basic parking lot for trucks, buses and Rvs. There is no water or power so you need to be self contained. But the lot is secure, they patrol it day and night and there are several cameras. The best part is, it is just across the highway from Lake Michigan and just a quick bus, train or drive from downtown. The people that work there are fantastic and friendly. It does cost $30.00 a night to stay there but it is worth every penny. To stay at the nearest campground (45 min. away in good traffic) it is $75.00 a night. During our stay there was a Bears game, this lot hosts parking during the games. These are some die hard fans! They showed up at 6am with Rvs and set up their BBQs and were ready for some fun lol. They were loud and proud but very friendly, courteous and really no bother. It was only 1 day and we were out exploring most the time anyways.
I am only giving McCormick Marshalling Yard one star because I cant give it zero. I brought a charter bus group here for a Bears game. It was like spending the afternoon in a third world country, replete with angry, booze-filled people, many of whom partied all day and never went to the game and a complete lack of security. The facility was totally ill-prepared to accommodate buses and other large vehicles. I personally witnessed an angry mob chasing a car through the over-crowded lot and a knock-down fight between two men wearing Bears jerseys. In a word this place is scary...seriously scary. It is a tragedy waiting to happen. Stay away!
$23 to pull into the yard, to check in. Make sure you figure this into your load. Incidentally, the yard is asphalt, and you can park overnight, but its a horror show during big or multiple shows.
$21.00 to check in for McCormick place at Truck Marshalling. You check in the day before and the day of loading they make you wait on BOLs that they dont have, coming from somewhere else. Whats the point of checking in on time if youre not going to have any drivervs BOLs READY? What kind of Mickey Mouse place is this? Mind you, its for United Van Lines. What a joke down at this office. Their system is probably one of the worse ones Ive seen yet. Lots of frustrated drivers from other companies outside while the moving company drivers sit around and bs all morning. A complete joke!
Awesome people...safe and secure
23.50 to park even if your there a show
Never get a load from them. 2 days waiting and still did not get loaded. Terrible place.
Worth place in the world...slow moving line to be loaded..at least a 100 trucks staying in line..truckers don’t waste you time...first and last time here...p.s before pay $23 at the gate, park u truck on side and go to the office, brown building at left hand side, probably you don’t need to get inside the parking lot..and you can safe $23 of you money...
This place needs a renovation baaaad.P.S. if its your first time here follow the other trucks or risk being yelled at.
I have always had good experience with this place
Cheap place to safely park a tractor trailer. Entrance lines can get backed up.
Huge lot, for McCormick place deliveries, I delivered here many oversize loads with no issues
May b outdated as sum 1 said, but VERY adequate, with Super Friendly helpful people.
Nothing more than robbery. It makes me sick that people will go to these low levels to extort money from truck drivers.
Heres a tip for those of you just trying to pick up. You dont need to park in the yard to go to the driver check-in building so save yourself $23 and park on street, check-in, and then drive down the street to get in the line to be told where to go when its your turn.
First marshalling area Ive been to where you get charged to park and check in to pick of a load from the convention center $23 to park...smh
