Peters Wood Refinishing was terrific! Exceptional quality of wood restoration and cabinet painting, along with custom cabinet drawers. We have vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and one beam was originally covered with a soffit which had a lot of cosmetic damages and cut-outs when the house was built. Peter and his team completely restored the beams to a beautiful finish. See photos from before & after. Job well done and I would highly recommend them. We are very happy with our new kitchen.
I hired Peter and team to refinish my original mahogany from door (1903). The door was not in the best shape - it had water damage, pieces of wood broken off, the color had faded and was in bad shape. I hired Peters Wood Refinishing and am so glad that I did! They arrived when they said, finished the job in two days, sanded, fixed, stained it perfectly. I highly recommend them! You will have to wait because they are booked - but now I know why.WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Follow-up: Peter came out and repaired the door.Extremely disappointing. Have been waiting patiently for more than 3 months. I keep getting told that next Saturday they will come and fix the door (the door needs repair but is working). A few times they have called back 3-4 days after they should have been here, apologizing for not showing up and explaining that they are busy BUT in 2 more weeks they WILL come by. They have never once called to let us know that they were not going to show up on the day they had promised. Initially I was trying to be understanding but this is beyond any reasonable treatment of a customer!
I got in touch during 2020 after looking at my sad half striped desk day after day. There was a gap in communication (due to pandemic) but once I reached out again, they sent a quote and the desk was picked up. A month later it was returned in beautiful condition. They even contacted me with stain color tests since the desk was mahogany. I dont think this piece has ever looked so good. I would definitely work with them again.
Peter’s Wood Refinishing did a FABULOUS job on five vintage wooden doors for me. I live in a 1903 condo, and the doors had been painted over with thick white paint for years. After Peter’s Wood Refinishing had worked their magic, the doors looked amazing. Tiny holes from old nails and screws were repaired, the antique doorknobs were stripped and burnished, and the restored wood looks perfect. Communication with the shop was easy, prompt, and professional. Not cheap but worth it. Highly recommended.
I have used Peters Wood Refinishing twice now - and been extremely pleased with both projects. Seven years ago, they refinished the outer wooden doors on our circa 1890 condo building - and just a few months ago someone stopped to ask if we had just had them done because they look so good. Last month I had them back to refinish the mantle of my fireplace - and it looks fantastic! They are lovely to deal with, do beautiful work, and leave your place in great shape when they are done.
Peters has refinished several pieces of furniture for us. They always do a good job. They pick up the pieces and drop them off, which is a huge help. Everyone on the staff is very pleasant and responsive. Peters Wood Refinishing is a pleasure to work with and we are very happy with the quality of their work.
Peters crew refinished our old oak front entryway and managed to squeeze us in at the end of the 2019 season. Although they were more expensive than wed planned on, the work looks excellent, and wed certainly use them again.
I looked for a stain refinisher after my kitchen was started by a painter and it was obvious he wouldnt be able to do the job. I literally had interviewed 10 candidates and I trusted these guys to do the job. Yet I was still worried as their website doesnt have anything close as extensive as my job. In the end I couldnt have been happier with their work. They were amazing through the whole process. Not only was Peter hands on but his employees were meticulous and never complained. If you are on the fence, go with these guys. You will be happy you did!
Hired them to stain and finish a hand rail made from old newel posts. New railing.
