My exam was re-scheduled twice only two weeks ahead of my exam. I understand circumstances are changing these days but the last minute changes added an incredible amount of stress onto an already stressful event. I will say though, on the day of the exam the experience almost made up for it. Everything was well organized, streamlined and i started my exam even earlier than planned. The staff was friendly and helpful and the environment was perfect. I could hear the front desk ladies laughing sometimes, but there were noise cancelling headphones at my desk and earplugs available if i needed them. Im been to other Pearson locations and this one was the best by far. Everything was clean, the lockers were a good size and everything was cleaned prior to me getting to my spot. Overall the in-person experience made up for the incredibly unprofessional last minute changes.
Friendly, prompt, organized, sanitized, provided great instruction.... great experience. Thanks for the smooth sail in this place.
This is an update to my last review. The staff returned my phone call and was very kind and explained everything very well. I’m happy with this location and the professionals that addressed my concerns.
A woman that I had meet her she is supper good and very nice voice I feel very comfortable
The building location is exceptionally convenient to get to; just a short walk from Union Station and plenty of parking in the area as well. The main lobby has a Starbucks that you can sit in and wait if you are accompanying someone to the exam. Its worth noting that the staff in the lobby of the main building are incredibly kind and helpful. The review below is specifically in regards to the staff employed by Pearson in the test center. However, that is about the only positive to this review. While waiting for my fiancee to place her items in the locker so I could return to the lower lobby with her coat during the exam (since there was just an open coat rack and no locker space), I was notified by the two staff members at the desk that I was not allowed in the area. Even if waiting for a coat so I could leave.Their attitude from the moment you walked in the door set the tone for exactly what I expected to happen. There is a thats not my job attitude and what appears to be irritation with even having to do the very basic task they appear to have. There is only one way I can describe their overall demeanor and that would be highly unprofessional with no regards to others.Quite frankly, it would be worth the drive to go to another location so to not deal with this ignorance, attitude, and overall lack of enthusiasm from an employee.
Very nice, quiet, well run testing center. The location is easy to get to via public transportation or car service. The front lobby staff directed me to the elevators. The staff at Pearson are professional. the women’s bathroom is clean and close to the entranceway of the testing office. They are super serious about security.
Pearson testing center doesn’t do any scheduling, cancellations or rescheduling. You will have to contact your exam sponsor or Pearson VUE for that. In most cases, if you’re late, you won’t be allowed to test. Most exams get 15 or 30 mins to be late. After that you are turned away. This is the rule from your test sponsor, not Pearson. Pearson is sometimes able to test late candidates if they have a seat available and that only happens if someone else didn’t show up for their exam. If it’s the end of the day you probably won’t be tested at all if you are late since that would put the people who work there late for going home at the end of day. They have lives, too, you know? Not to mention Pearson needs at least 2 employees there working and if one person doesn’t want to stay because a candidate arrived late then no one will be able to test you.Yes, security is tight, but you can thank people who try and cheat and hide notes. Pearson does a pat down procedure where you, the candidate, pat yourself down and roll your sleeves up and turn your pockets inside out. This is done every time you go inside the exam room. If you don’t want to do it all the time, just decline your break! The only people allowed inside Pearson are the people testing! Please don’t bring your spouse, kids, friends etc. it doesn’t matter why, they will have to wait downstairs in the lobby. After testing you can’t wait in the room for another candidate, either. Especially during covid Pearson wants less people as possible in the room.
*My issue was resolved. I have not been to this center tbh. I am updating my review accordingly.*I am leaving this review as a result of how I was planning to take another exam and during the pandemic changed my plans. I want people who see these reviews to know what to expect from Pearson Vue in the US in the middle of a global pandemic, and if I find other locations to post my review, be assured, I will.I called to cancel my exam *a MONTH in advance.* I was placed on hold 45 minutes minimally on 4 separate occasions to initiate this request. The representatives say they are going to place me on hold to transfer to someone who can help me cancel the exam. Then they ask me for my number. During the transfer the call is somehow “disconnected”. No one follows up to confirm the request was processed properly. In their email they say they hold card information for 3 months for security reasons. Yet, I know I am not the only individual who is cancelling outside of an arbitrary 3 month window. I was not told that information when I signed up for the exam. It is not appropriate to tell me action is required and the only way I can cancel is by using the card I had on file when I scheduled my exam, especially considering my login information, address and phone number have not changed. What is preventing you from mailing the check? People all over the world are validating customer identity to the best of technical capability online.Computer systems have been used for decades to update a credit card number tied to a specific account. I find it shocking Pearson does not extend that option in 2020 during the middle of a pandemic, for online accounts. The option was there for the exam but when one needs to update and cancel you have to wait on the phone for hours at a time only to be hung up on during the “transfer”.Companies know this causes an undue burden on testing candidates. They should be held accountable for providing everyone with bare minimum reasonable accommodations to update their credit card information online. It would save us all time we could use to adjust to caring for ourselves, our jobs, our family’s and to the extent possible our community during this time. If they were reasonable, they would make this a priority instead of dodging customers by using time wasting tactics so the customers give up on canceling their exams. Telling me to keep calling is not resolving my request to cancel the exam. This can be managed with authentication services.I know it is highly likely that they are not staffed to handle the volume of requests they having coming in at this time. Most are not. However, they are staffed well enough to simplify this process. This is a choice. One that I will consider when I pursue my next certification and you should too.
I recently took the GMAT here and my experience was horrible. This center uses 10 year-old monitors, keyboards, and computer mice. The resolution on the screen was so low and blurry, it literally made my eyes hurt throughout my test.Of the 2 black markers I was given to do my work, one did not work at all. The 2nd one barely worked and you had to press hard to make it write anything. There is heavy security during the test. While some of this is warranted, they make you frisk yourself every time you enter and leave the test room. Furthermore, the security checks were so slow and the bathroom so far from the test room, I missed 20 seconds on one of my sections because I couldnt make it there and back in time.Pearson just wants your money, they could care less about the quality of service they are providing. I have been trying to get in touch with their customer service and its designed like an impenetrable barrier. Their automated system will hang up on you abruptly and put you in circles before letting you speak with a real person.
I found the staff here to be rude and intolerant of others, especially those who work hard to get a degree despite overcoming challenging circumstances. They were unwilling to allow me to test because Id arrived 13 minutes late because Id been nearly hit by a car and fallen off my bike on my way over. I tried calling Pearson, but couldnt get through so I biked through Chicago as fast as I could to get to this important, expensive exam. When I came in, I had everything ready to go and the others were still in the lobby on their way back. One employee was sitting in the lobby while the other was standing and taking other testers back. I felt relieved- they hadnt even started. Then, I realized the seated employee was glaring at me, and I tried she was one of those people who love telling others bad news, and is so simple-minded and rule-abiding that it stands in the way of normal empathic response. She said I was too late (13 minutes) and they closed in four hours so it wasnt enough time. Now, Id taken the practice same-length version of this exam and that took me 55 minutes. She was very rude and continued to repeat that they closed in four hours and I have to go online to reschedule and repay the gargantuan deposit. This entire experience made me want to cry. I would not recommend to others to use this test center if you want to be treated with dignity and respect on the day of your important test
I took the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam there last year. It was a pleasant experience (not the exam). The staff was friendly and helpful. Im sure they have rules to follow, and their jobs could be on the line if they start breaking rules for you because you came in late. Get there on time and follow the rules. If your exam is important, consider not biking there. Try public transportation or an Uber.
Imagine that I showed up ontime and they let me take the test! If you can barley afford to take one test, then shoot for being an hour early. Education is expensive, ontime is being early. Its quite simple really.
GMAC SHOULD CHECK THE HORRIBLE REVIEWS AND FIX THE PROBLEM.
Very professional
Why arent the damn hours of operation on this things. Also why is everything on an automated voice mail they do t even say on the voicemail what the hours of operations are. I dont have time to wait for a call back 24 hours later. Just let me schedule and be done with it.
