This company was a pleasure to work with. We had a special event and booked the boat last minute. We arrived before they opened and hung out at the tables. The woman who worked there at the counter was extremely nice and checked me in an hour early. She would come back every 15-20 minutes and check on us and see if we were ready to go, but you never felt rushed. She made us feel welcome. When we were ready, they showed us the boat, how to drive it, gave us a map and directions. We went out on the water and it was a great time. They helped us with the return and it worked great! Thank you to your entire team.

Hands down one of the best boat rental companies out there!!My family and I rented one of the pontoons on July 4th,from the start to finish the process was easy. We arrived and Angela was there to great us. The crew was helpful and went over the boat and process which was easy. The boat was clean no issues our family enjoyed the view. We were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the city, the landscaping and landmarks. It was breathtaking.I packed snacks brought a cooler with drinks. It was a great time !! I will definitely be returning for more amazing memories.Highly recommended!!!

Let me just say that the actual boat was excellent and our experience on the water was great. This review is on the instructor before we stated our rental. The guy was condescending and treated us like kids who will destroy his boat. He spent most time telling us how we will be charged thousands of dollars if we ruin his boat and spent little time actually explaining how to function it. We had a 3 year old child on the boat — like does he actually think we were going to be reckless? Just not customer friendly and welcoming. For $350 spend, it felt like he was doing us a huge favor. It just made a mockery out of their business. Advice: Be welcoming to your customers, don’t talk down to them and trust the fact that they’re risking their own lives on your boat. There is a better way to message this. Focus on teaching how to use the boat rather than talking down at the people and threatening/scaring them. People come here to have fun. People are responsible. Read the room, dude.

Angela and her team at Chicago Boat Rentals are amazing! I have gone out on the river with a few different friends groups now and each time it is incredible. The staff bends over backwards to make the experience awesome and the pontoons themselves are super comfortable and make for an awesome few hours on the river. I highly recommend booking a fun group and getting out on the water thru Chicago Boat Rental!

This boat ride is by far the best way to see the city! The sights from the River are absolutely stunning! We had such a fun day on the river with just the girls! I recommend this to anyone who is considering taking a trip to Chicago!. The pontoon boat was comfortable and so spacious. The best day I have had in Chicago! Thank you!

Excellent boats and the gas powered engines are better for sure than electric powered. You can take it all the way to Navy Pier, then back down the south branch to past Ping Tom park and still make it back in 2 hours. Always a great time, boats in great condition and staff is great.

What a great experience. The boat was easy to drive and the folks who gave the instructions could not have been nicer. I will do this again.

Fantastic Day! McKenna checked us in with great vibes and was able to get us onto the boat immediately. Matt was harbor director and gave great direct directions of what to do and what not to do. Perfect outing and unique viewing of Chicago. I have been with Chicago Boat Rentals a few times, and each visit is more thriving than the last.

The absolute best time ever

Rented the 8 person pontoon for 2 hours. We lucked out with a beautiful summer day. Got set up and moving very quickly for a solid afternoon on the river. The boat was easy to drive, and moved smoothly over the water aside from hitting the wakes of tour boats. Would definitely recommend if you’ve done the larger cruises and are looking to set your own pace.

Rented out their 12 person pontoon with their one day flash sale. They were very helpful with the different routes you were able to take. We had a blast! Thank you for the great time.

Do not use for big groups! I needed to book a reservation for two boats as my group was greater than 12 people. I communicated clearly from the get-go that thats what I needed and was told that would no problem. Not the case! Since I had been clear about my group size and had even talked to them on phone, I went ahead made a reservation online, as they had instructed me to do. Only one boat could be reserved at a time but considering the continued communication Id had with CBR, I just emailed/called them to make sure the second boat could be reserved. Not only did they not have another boat available as they had previously assured, they refused to issue a refund for the boat I had reserved under false pretenses. When I was trying to resolve this issue, the manager was incredibly rude to me. So not only did I lose money but a boat rental that would work for my group. If you have a group bigger than 12, LOOK ELSEWHERE.

A horrible experience. They gave us a boat that had a broken motor/system. We were stuck on the river with no wire to dock us and had to ask the Chicago police to help us dock. We waited another 30 minutes for them to pick us up. The motor still didn’t work on the way back. Waiting to hear back about our refund. GO TO ANOTHER RENTAL.
