A friend and I took our bikes in for a tune up ($65 a piece, which already is pricier than many other bike shops). I typically put around 20 miles a day on my bike and during the summer, I bike 50+ a day regularly, so I was willing to spend the extra cash to make sure it was ready for the season.When I brought it in, I mentioned that my bike had been in an accident and I was worried about the fork because it was bent and interested in purchasing a new one if possible. He assured me it was fine and not necessary and he would have them tuned up in a few days.After picking them up, we discovered that my friends tire was completely flat. We called them and they said they must’ve forgotten and offered to do it if we brought it back in. That should absolutely be part of a $65 tune up. No accommodations for the fact that we had to spend more time and gas to get there. When we picked up the bikes again, the chain was off and my friend, annoyed with the whole situation, took his bike and decided to do it himself.But here’s where its gets worse and where I get livid.Not trusting this guys work, we took our bikes to a different shop who straight up told us that Bacardi basically robbed us. He also said that my fork is completely shot, showed me why it’s dangerous to ride in its current state and refused to do any work on my bike until I got a new fork.This man barely touched our bikes and was willing to let me take off on a bike that was dangerous to ride, after taking $130 of our money and even more of our time.I don’t know how this place runs a business.And if you’d like the number of the shop that actually helped us out, just message me, please don’t go to Bacardi

Above and beyond customer service! I came to Bacardi Bikes after visiting Cozy down the street telling me my bike was unrepairable and I would be better off buying a new bike. So because of the not so nice service I decided to go checkout Bacardi Bikes for new bikes, the owner asked me how he could help and I got to explain what happened earlier, he said that sounds odd why dont you bring in your bike and Ill take a look, he gave me an estimate from highest to lowest for what the repair expected to be. First round the repair worked for a few moments of riding but the problem happened again he said no problem bring it back in and Ill fix it, and he totally delivered! He saved my bike that I really enjoy riding and wasnt ready to depart with. The repair time was very reasonable, affordable, and best of all he fixed it unlike the other shop that pretty much told me out of luck. I highly recommend coming here for your bike needs as his passion for this industry shows and his compassion was very heartfelt. Thank you again so much for going above and beyond. Quality establishment run by a fair owner. Bought a used Cannondale but didn’t end up needing it. Let me return it with full refund, no problem. Will be going back!

Truly disappointed in the work from this shop. Not only was my bike not even cleaned for a tune up but the tires were not inflated. I had to bring it back. After bringing it back and addressing the tires I brought the bike home to find the chain off the crank.If they are missing these details who knows what else is overlooked.I am not returning a third time and I will be finding another shop. This is legit the most basic of services.

I just purchased a bike from Barcardi Bikes and Fidel was super helpful. I needed to raise my handlebars so he helped order the parts and did the work very promptly. Highly recommend visiting Barcardi. I checked out Kozy, but decided to purchase a used, more affordable road bike instead :)

Excellent family run bike shop. The prices are great. They have an ever changing selection of used bikes that very fairly priced. The people are really friendly. Plus, they do a Sunday morning bike ride every week. Anyone can join. I feel good about supporting local businesses like this.

I live in 60641, and I work in 60641. Ever since I moved in to Portage Park I wanted to ride a bike to work, but at the time I did not feel safe and I opted for using the CTA. That did not work either, so I finally gave it up and drove to work every day. I never felt good about it, because it is a disaster environmentally, and it really makes not much sense to me to drive to work for a couple of miles a day.Anyway, forward 8 years, and now I have a feeling the city is more prepared for bikes. A quick google showed me Bacardi Bikes, and I liked what I read, so I headed there and met FIDEL.I told Fidel what my situation was, and he showed me a couple of options that made sense and fit my budget. I tried several bikes and finally decided to get the Fyxation pixel. He did not have the color I wanted, so he ordered it for me, and in less than a week, the bike was ready to rock n roll.The whole experience with Fidel was very pleasant. He is very knowledgeable, kind and gentle, and does not try to sell you an expensive bike, but the bike you need. Also, although the shop is not huge, I must say the selection was very good and the bikes Fidel has at the store are really all good looking.I paid with cash and he gave me 5%, just FYI.I am happy with my new bike and confident this is the bike I need. I am also happy I purchased it at Bacardi Bikes and I strongly encourage anybody looking to get a bike to stop by and talk to Fidel.Thanks for reading!
