I used to patronize CarX on Irving Park and would have been loyal to them had they maintained the great service I used to get. Unfortunately the wonderful manager who ran that location retired in 2020 and apparently the good customer service, value and everything else, went with him. In a pinch to get something fixed (that the Irving Park location did wrong), I turned to this CarX location. So happy to have found them! The manager Paul has been very helpful and very honest, and its much appreciated. He and his team are righting a wrong that the Irving location should have handled - but I will now bring all my future business to the Ashland location, and will refer people here as well. Glad to have found them!

Had a quick, easy experience getting my tires replaced - and then when a few weeks later I had a wiper blade emergency, the team was willing to not only help me right then, but to install wipers I had brought with me for no charge. Very appreciative of the kind and trustworthy team here!

Having recently moved into the neighborhood I made an appointment over a week in advance for oil change. Arrive five minutes early and when the guy shows up he says I don’t have an appointment and he has 16 people in front of me. He finally finds that I do have an appointment but makes it clear that he will have no time for me today. On what basis is he so rude? I am a professional and I live in the neighborhood could it be that he sees the 25% of me that’s black and the American Indian? Not the 75% of me that’s German

Ive been going here for awhile for basic service like oil changes. I also had my rear breaks replaced here. They have never tried to over sell me on anything or be pushy about a service that I dont need. I love that Ive found a car shop I can trust. I asked about my squeaky front breaks recently and I assumed they may say they need replaced but said they just needed a good cleaning! Praise Jesus! So they helped out with that and I didnt get a massive charge for new breaks I didnt need :)

Great work! They repaired our vehicle for half the price of the dealership and managed to finish it ahead of schedule! Super satisfied with their service.

Soka, Paul, and Joe provide fantastic service. They are always friendly and efficient. I appreciate their honesty and that they are not trying to hassle me into maintenance I dont need. I will continue to get my car serviced here because of them! I went to Jiffy Lube nearby and had a horrible experience. It is refreshing to know I can find a place conveniently by my house and with good service!

The staff is very friendly and explaining things about your car. They offer a lot of free extra services with oil change. And oils change was just $18.99! (it was a temporary deal but usually prices are reasonable here) definetely recommend

Have been looking for a new place to take my car for maintenance and then I had a major car problem. Had it towed to this CarX. It seems hard to find honest people but Paul and Daniel are truly great. They walked me through the process and taught me something about cars I didnt know. Paul and Daniel were great to work with. I came in with a flat tire and even though I was bummed the tire couldnt be repaired, I trusted their judgment and ended up needing to buy a new one and was glad they could squeeze in an oil change for me on the spot too. Would definitely recommend.

Anthony and his team at Car-X are great. They help me out of a jam when I needed my car fixed before a road trip. I explained my situation, and they were quick and reasonable with the estimate and the work. My car is running great and Im not looking for a new mechanic anytime soon.

These are great and honest guys. They have outstanding customer service. My transmission blew on my VW beetle, a horrible scenario for anyone. Scott, was quick to call me back and helpful on how to proceed. His customer service was far above and beyond any of my expectations. ** DO NOT GO HERE**Completely lied about a tire repair and told me the tire wasn’t patchable and it would be 300.00 for a new tire . I was fine with this as I thought it was my only option.After going in for my appointment they didn’t have the tire ready for my service and told me to “do whatever I needed to do” and they would call me .The next day I brought it to a tire repair shop and GOT THE TIRE PATCHED AND REPAIRED for less than $50 .- rip off- liars

It seems like there is new ownership at this Ashland location. The last time that I was in on Labor Day, the person at the front desk could not be bothered to greet me or recognize I was even there. When I asked if they could fit me in for an oil change, I got a frown and just a terse “I don’t think so.” I’ve been going here for years; previous staff may not have been able to accommodate me in a pinch, but were at least courteous. I’ve since gone to the Midas on Clybourn and find staff friendly (like former CarX staff). I would also recommend Ashland Tire for all around service.

Ordered tires online to save money, and called around to about 10 shops in the area. These guys were the cheapest and did a perfect job. I believe it was $15 a tire, balanced and installed, and they disposed of the old ones. Some shops add an annoying fee for that.Also, other shops in the past used the crappy pound on wheel weights and damaged my alloy wheels. These guys used the stick ons, which made me really happy.They were super nice, and accommodating. Ill be coming back here for sure.

I showed up late in the day with a broken tailpipe on my Honda Civic. Sokha handled the situation in a courteous and efficient manner. His staff was very professional. Rather than replace the entire exhaust system, Sokha suggested I only needed the tailpipe repaired. Very honest!! The repair was completed in about an hour. I would suggest this Car X to anyone that needs car repair . I was very pleased .

My fiancé brought our car to Car-X because we could feel something was off. Turned out we needed a new Catalytic converter, but unfortunately, we got much more than we asked for.We do not drive the car often. A week and a half after it was “fixed” I was on the highway in very slow traffic in the left lane. When this traffic became GO my car could not go over 20 mph on a 65mph highway. This was extremely dangerous to say the least, I was terrified. When I was finally able to get off of the highway, my car couldnt reach above 10 mph and it reeked of exhaust. I could not accelerate.I brought the car to my hometown mechanic and he immediately sent me extremely troubling pictures. As he has been my family’s go-to for many years, I trust him. But, don’t take my word for it. the pictures can actually tell the story.When Car-X replaced the converter, they broke 2 studs, in fact they snapped both of them. One of these snaps poked a hole in the manifold. This caused the manifold to leak very badly. Not only did this make the car not-drivable, now exhaust was leaking into my car. When exhaust leaks into the passenger compartment, this is carbon monoxide leaking into the car. Many symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include dizziness, headache, nausea, sleepiness, confusion and even unconsciousness. Carbon monoxide poisoning can also be fatal.They left the broken piece inside, which is really difficult to remove (a stud doesnt snap, and it was a clean break clearly done with a tool). This can happen, but we should never ever have been sent home with the car in this state. Especially when the damage you caused could have caused FATAL damage in MULTIPLE ways.As you can see in the image, there is an empty hole. The stud on the other side, where there was not a leak, had also been broken off. Additionally, the nuts were not tight anywhere where they should have been. I’m wondering what type of quality assurance occurs, never-mind, clearly none.I could have had my nephews or niece in the car, my dog, my fiancé. I am glad I was alone. I am glad we weren’t on our way to the wedding we have hours away next week. You should be so ashamed and disgusted you let someone drive off your lot with a car in that shape. Do not bring your car here.This Car-X has a “if we broke it, we will fix it within a year!” policy. No thanks. Youll be receiving my bill for the additional work, and the ubers I have had to take for when I was depending on my car.

I only go there on Tuesday coz manager Sohka is superb. Thats when you get the best customer service and the mechanics Bill, and Joe are very jovial They treat customer with the outmost respect. For those who have been there any other day try going on Tuesdays and I promise you you will not be disappointed. Tuesday staff keep up the good job!!

Ive been taking my cars here for years. I like being able to drop them off and come back in a few hours when they are done. Ive feel that Ive always gotten fair and honest work. mufflers, brakes, timing belts, thermostats, etc. and of course oil changes. My Acura from the year 2000 is still running great and Im trying the run it to the ground but these guys at Carx wont let that happen.

**DO NOT GO HERE**I went in to get an oil change . The manager Paul bizoukas assured me he had the oil filter. So I let them change the oil. Took it to my mechanic for exhaust repairs and saw the old jiffy lube filter from 6 months ago still on my vehicle.. total rip off.. Mechanics name was joe.

Fair price, helpful staff, and a very quick turnaround - less than 4 business hours of me dropping my car off without an appt to having 4 tires installed and an oil change performed.

Expensive but great/friendly staff. Im sure you could get a better price at a non-chain automotive repair company, but here you dont have to schedule any appointments and they get you in and out fairly quick.

5 Stars all the way! These guys are honest mechanics and I Love it! I work on cars and I took my car to the dealer to have them look at my suspension system (which I knew was bad) they said nothing was wrong with it I took it here Problem solved... I also knew my timeing chain went bad... YUP they fixed that too... They went out of the way to make sure that my car was safe which is why I didnt mind waiting an extra hour... If you were at the doctors office and he took an extra 30-40 min to make sure your ticker is workin because he thought he herd a few kinks... Youd be thankful... Well guess what same thing goes for your car... and what I love about this place is before they do anything to your car they jack it up and actually SHOW you whats wrong... Like I said i got a kick outta that because im a mechanic too and they didnt know.
