While having your car sideswiped is never a happy experience I cannot be more thankful for Arts Auto Rebuilders. They were located in my area and in my insurance network which is why I initially chose them and I am happy I did. The office staff was polite and courteous, I received regular text updates every step of the way and they actually finished the repairs a day ahead of schedule. The repairs look amazing and they went above and beyond by detailing my car! I definitely have found my new go to spot for any body work and would happily recommend them to anyone in need.
I took my car to get the back bumper painted, fix the quarter panel and paint the car. They did none of that! They charged me for something I did not ask for! They also put the wrong front bumper on the car! I also noticed white paint on the hood of the car and windshield! I would not recommend arts rebuilders to anyone!!!! Especially a cash paying customer!!!!! They are not a good company!!!!!
This business was previously known as Arts Undercoating, I had three other vehicles done here in prior years.Apparently, they focus on bodywork now, and the old employee that did rustproofing and undercoat retired.I purchased a new 2017 Chevy van, made an appointment for rustproofing and undercoat, then drove from the dealer lot directly to Arts. The owner said they would have to steam clean the underside for the undercoat to stick. There was some mud and grass from the Chevy dealership lot on the tires that ended up on the wheel wells. They kept the van all day, the employee promised he would remove the plastic body plugs behind the body panels, to get rustproofing in everwhere. When I came to pick it up, I noticed there was no undercoat sprayed in the wheel well lip, where rust starts. No rustproofing was coming out of the door drains. Instead it was applied under the hood and door jambs, where it could be seen. When I pointed it out, the employee grabbed a spray gun and started shooting it in the door panel access holes, where it started coming out of the door lock. When I got home I crawled underneath to see they never steam cleaned, sprayed right over clumps of grass and mud, didnt even brush off big clumps. I pulled the body plugs to find they never took them off or applied rustproof inside. They used an oily substance that looked like dirty trans fluid as rustproofing, the undercoat was so thin on the chassis, you could see through it, and missed most of the seems where rust starts.I called to complain, they just said bring it back. I said you had eight hours to do it right, but didnt, and the employee was a liar, had no idea what he was doing. Also, my radio antenna had been broken either in the shop, or by a passerby, in the lot.I contested the charge on my credit card, but the owner claimed I was trying to get a free job, and the credit card dispute dept. could not tell by my pics, and said Id have to have another shop verify the poor work.So do not ever consider undercoat or rustproofing here, they dont need your money anyway. They have an inside deal with Chgo. repairing city vehicles doing mediocre bodywork.
Office personnel professional and courteous. Arts Auto mechanics did a great job. I was referred by Marquette Frame on 59th Street at Western.
Wanted to thank Melissa for taking on my case with state farm. Customer service was awesome and while my car is in she has called me every time with every new updates on the repairs. I recommend

I love the work they did on my truck. Very please with there work. The manger was really helpful he explain all the things they were going to do on my truck. Great job guys..
I had my vehicle repaired there couple yrs ago through my insurance. They did good job, so recommended a relative. They had his car since appox. Mid Dec.2019. They dont communicate well, and basically holding his car hostage, cause put on parts without consulting Insur.company. Then kept sending his calls to voicemail. Wont let him talk 2manager. Basically giving run around. Not customer fault or responsible for your error. A Good Business would know that. Hopefully Management will make amends. FOLLOW-UP That relative I referred after finally getting car back, had problems with car that wasnt previously there. Took back of course they denied was their doing🤔 Car I got repaired year ago here, hit someone in rear and my car was totaled, other vehicle just a dent!!. In my opinion the bumper put on my car was obviously Defected! Never again will I recommend
I went to Arts Auto today and had my right front tire repair. The low air pressure Gage light came on for the right front tire. Arts Auto Repair it In 5 minutes. Very good help very good help I highly recommend Arts Auto.
Very nice people and service. I appreciate their care and consideration.
Art’s always does a great job with my car! Have brought it there multiple times for issues and will continue to bring it there

My 2009 Dodge Caliber was making a noise that sounded like dragging. I took it to Arts Auto Rebuilders. The team informed me that my alternator, idler pulley, tensioner, power steering pump were all bad. I decided to allow Arts Auto Rebuilders to complete the repairs. It was about $900.Lets fast forward three weeks. I am driving to Naperville, which is where I work. I am on I88 when suddenly my dashboard battery lights, temperature gauge light, check engine light and ABS all come on in the span of 1 minute. I notice that my temperature gauge is climbing all the way to H. I am really worried that my car will overheat. As I am about to get off the expressway my power steering goes out. I was able to steer to get on the exit ramp. I park in a Hilton Hotel parking lot and wait for the car to cool down. I go to Yelp and find Clarks Car Care. I am only 8 minutes away so slowly drive there. I talked to Jason and he guesses that its the Serpentine belt system. 30 minutes later he says that my Serpentine Belt, my idler pulley and tensioner all need to be replaced. There was coolant all over the engine because it overheated. When I informed Jason that I had the idler and tensioner replaced three weeks prior he stared at me in disbelief. He asked me if I was sure? I told him that I spent $900 on a host of repairs, those among them. He said he couldnt speak to what another shop had done but he did have to fix those parts. I gave my consent to start working on the car. He flushed the coolant system because of air bubbles and then he replaced the idler, tensioner and drive belt. I got the repairs, paid and went to work.I called Arts Auto Rebuilders and speak with Larry. When I tell him that my power steering goes out he says, Oh my God. I continue on to say that I had to get the car fixed at a Naperville shop and would he be willing to compensate me for the bill. I told him that I did not have the parts. His tone completely changed. He said he didnt care if I went out of the solar system, Milky Way or universe he would still need the parts to send to the manufacturer. I asked him if I was in Naperville how I would have gotten the car back to him? He suggested that I should have used teleportation.I tell him that if he wants further proof of my story that perhaps he could call the Naperville shop. At this point he says the next sentence very nasally and in a whining tone, So you think we should have a little talky-talk or a pow wow? He tells me how I am childish and I remind him that not a minute ago he referred to talking to a fellow automotive expert as a talky-talk.When we ended our conversation Larry had finally agreed to send me something. About a week and half later I receive a package. The check was for $25 and a sarcastic letter was attached. He wrote on the check, Education on auto repairs. In my opinion Larry didnt do a great job of explaining his side of things in the letter. Instead he offered such jewels of wisdom as, No car, no warranty. Before you get upset over this comment I would suggest you test this same principle the next time you buy clothes. No matter where you purchase them march over to Niemen Marcus and demand a refund. Or conversely, purchase a hamburger at McDonalds but go to Burger King and demand a refund because they are closerThose are the worst analogies I have ever read. I laughed.Listen, I dont know what happened but after you pay $900 you shouldnt have to replace the same parts in under a month. Given the seriousness, I expected professionalism but I received - sarcasm, nasally voices and teleportation references. I only write this as an analysis of my experiences. I personally will never do business again with Arts Auto Rebuilders, but you may feel differently. The choice is truly up to you.
Had an appointment to get my engine steam cleaned,in and out! Good customer service! They honored my groupon coupon!😀
They are a great body shop they do great work and a great job with your car I took two cars there great service had no problems but if theres a problem I can say they try to solve it I made a review earlier I want to make a apology to the owner because my review was not meant for you I work a lot of hours was very tired my thoughts was mixed up with prefer Auto Body on 69th and Ashland as far as Arts Auto rebuilders they do very excellent work and is very caring free estimates they did a great excellent job with both of my cars I will always recommend them to someone and will be taking someone car there again because I was satisfied with their work so I owe the owner a great apology for putting the wrong reference with their company accept my apology I recanted my review with the real truth and words that is really meant for Arts Auto Rebuilders on 74th and Western I feel comfortable taking my cars to them and preferring them two people
Amazing service great prices
They do great insurance repair work. Also steam clean engines.
Please do not take your car to these idiots. I took my 1998 Riviera to Arts for a simple engine steam cleaning and interior detailing. I was told that interior detailing included shampooing the carpet and my leather seats. When I returned to pick up my car I noticed they had left my park lights on. I asked to inspect the car before I paid and was very disappointed. The interior had not even been vacuumed and it looked the same as when I dropped it off. When I started to sum up all the things that had not been done the OWNER LARRY stated he didnt know what else I wanted them to do and went inside the office. Upon further inspection I discovered that the engine had not been cleaned properly as they didnt even take of the super charge covering to steam clean the valve cover. When I went inside the office and started to complain the owner threw my keys to me and stated I would have to take my car elsewhere as they could not help me. Fine with me because they wanted to charge me $110 for the interior cleaning and $20 for the steam engine cleaning. I had to get a jump start for my car because they had left my lights on and after getting a jump start I noticed my check engine light was on. I go back inside to inform him that my check engine light was on and I was told that I would have to leave my car or bring my car back on Monday of the following week because he had other commitments that he couldnt break. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! TODAY IS WEDNESDAY. He looked at me and said I gave you two choices to leave it here or bring it back Monday which one do you want. I left furious and took my car to another auto shop and was informed that my check engine light was on because when they steamed cleaned the engine they did not cover the ignition coyle pack and water got inside and shorted out the first cylinder. So my car was running on only 5 cyclinders when I have a V6. I had to pay $75 to have this part replaced plus labor when all I wanted was a clean car.
Terrible Customer Service; All State auto insurance brought my fathers truck here after a car accident. The replacement parts were cheap and not factory. It started to come apart after a month. They werent properly installed. The mechanics uninstalled fathers alarm and wouldnt install it back. I spoke with the manager and the manager started getting an attitude with us and stated that it wasnt his fault. Avoid this this place at all costs. I am surprised its still open. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, save your money.
NEVER NEVER go here. Theyve have my car makes 2 weeks today they keep giving me the run around I gave them 88 dollars for a diagnosis that goes toward the car final payment after having my car for two weeks telling me it would be 300 they now say its 600 because I have to get a factory part and the 88 dollars now doesnt cover the final cost and then after all that I tried to pay with a CC over the phone cause clearly I dont have a car and supposedly they dont do that either. The owner Larry talked to me and was beyond rude and told me he didnt need my services after having my car for weeks!! youd a thought I had his car for two weeks but it has been the worst experience I have ever had with any business please save your money and never go there. I put my car in there 2 weeks ago and paid them 88 dollars and I will be to pick my car up tomorrow with a tow truck so yea dont risk it
I took my audi their to have fixed and they kept the car for around a week only to tell me that they didnt fix that type of car. The only thing they offered me was a steam cleaning fee on the engine. Something that should not be done in that type of car especially by a place that doesnt know how to fix it. A complete wast en of time and money
You Could Have Used TeleportationThe events that I describe involve Larry, the owner of Arts Auto Rebuilders, actually telling me that even though my car broke down in Naperville perhaps I could have used teleportation to send my car back to his shop. He suggested this about 2 minutes into our conversation, you read correctly - teleportation. And then Larry paid me $25 for an Education on auto repairs. Its a great story. But Im getting ahead of myself so lets start at the beginning.(I offer the disclaimer that my experiences may not be representative of others interactions with Arts Auto Rebuilders. I only offer my opinion and my viewpoint. Draw your own conclusions. I did not have a good auto mechanic experience with Arts Auto Rebuilders.)My 2009 Dodge Caliber was making a noise that sounded like dragging. I took it to Arts Auto Rebuilders. Terrible service from the owner larry.....I had a minor accident and I dropped my car off on the 17th of December 2011. My car was drivable. Its the 13th of Jan 2012, and I still dont have my car, and they keep giving me the run around. Now they are telling me I will get it back only on the 20th of Jan. Apparently, my insurance company told me that no body got in touch with them from the body shop until the 29th of December. Because of their lax service, I have reached the end of my period with my rental, and now I have to pay out of pocket to keep the rental. To make matters worse, not once did they make an effort to call me and give me any updates about my car even once. Lets see how the repairs come out, and accordingly I will update my review.
Do not take your vehicle to Arts Auto Rebuilders, theyll scam you. Got ripped off when I took my Escalade in for their undercoating package. It honestly looks like they applied it with their eyes closed. Absolute terrible job. The owner, Larry, was incredibly rude and very short when I called in to complain, its like I was talking to a child. Do not trust these idiots with your car.
I put 1 star just to write a comment.......now this place is horrible with fixing cars....my car was shaking and the mechanics on strike and I took my car to Arts.....they had my car a week only to give me a bottle and said contaminated gas....then after dropping the tank they told me my car would be ready by 12....i called them at 2 just for the owner to say oh we have a problem you have syrup in your tank.....Now how you give me a bottle with water and a bucket wit syrup.....and it looked like dirty oil....so they charged me 450 and now they want another 500 to change my fuel injectors.....i took my car off that lot because they dont know how to really fix cars,so trust me when i say they Suck....the ladies at the desk didnt even call to update me and they dumb as a box if3 rocks...the owner is rude as hell ...and I really think they need to stick to fender benders......im gonna take them to small claim cause they tried to get over on me...and he made me pay cash but they take credit cards....they petty and they mechanic suck.....
The owner claims he openly discriminates against LGBTQ people.
Awesome service and very dependable.
Do not take your vehicle here they will hack it up with sketchy junk yard parts and if you dont have any mechanical experience they will try to give you your vehicle back in very poor comdition plus if there are things that you have to remove to replace they will leave my vehicle had damage under the bumper cover the door wasnt properly aligned horn didnt work sway bars end links were broken this was all charged on my bill
AMAZING work and customer service!!!!
