They have had $1500 bath tub I ordered for weeks 3 different times it was supposed to be delivered and its not here. Their phones are always down and you can not get a straight answer from anyone. At this point I could have just gone to get it but cannot get a hold of anyone to even schedule that. Extremely frustrating and disappointing.
Residential delivery, nobody called to schedule tracking said delivery was scheduled between 8am and 5pm. I called them the day of, at about 8:10am and was told they couldnt narrow it down at this time, as the driver had not shown up to sign in to his route. If I wanted to sign up for email delivery alerts or would give me a 3-4 hour delivery window once the driver signed in. I received an alert immediately saying delivery scheduled and thats it, no freigh, no email, no contact. I called back at 5:30pm to say Im still here and no delivery. I was assured the driver was still out that his ETA was 7 minutes. Its two days later still no freight. I was informed that it didnt fit on the truck, you have an oversized piece ITS A BUMPER FOR MY PICKUP! I told them of they cant get it to me today then just send it back. I cant deal with incompetence and lies. I just told the company I bought from to look out for the return.
I work for Saia, as a part time employee. Jermaine Moses is a great guy to work for. The forklifts may need some fine tuning. But overall, its a great place to work.
I booked a time sensitive load on a Tuesday evening that needed to be delivered by Monday. According to the booking it is a two day travel time. On Wednesday we waited for the load to be picked up, no call no show. So I called them and they said that they didnt have a truck in the area on Wednesday but guaranteed that it would be picked up on Thursday. Well again no pickup no call no show. I called them again and spoke with customer service and they checked with the dispatcher and he stated they were not going to pickup the load. I asked to speak with the dispatcher and customer service transferred me and the dispatcher picked up the phone and immediately hung it up. I called back 2 more times and the same thing happened again. I ended up paying almost triple the price and the load wasnt able to make it until Tuesday. And I ended up having to rebate the customer back over $3000 for being late. I have called the corporate office and no one has called me back. I wouldnt recommend using this company for you logistical needs ever.
I had a freight shipment sent from CA to my home in Chesapeake. The SAIA tracking site was awesome as I could track my shipment from departure in CA all the way to the warehouse in VA. The local warehouse called me to set up a delivery appointment several days out (called on a FRI for delivery on WED). The warehouse had not received the shipment yet, but it was on track according to the site. I had to change the time for a work commitment and the person I talked to was able to move it easily. The delivery driver called me 30 minutes out and arrived right at the delivery time we set up. I could not have been happier with the overall experience as this was the first freight shipment I have received directly.
The delivery man himself was awesome and customer service in Ga was nice. However, the company as far as scheduling and communication and timeliness was awful. If you have a choice, choose another company!
I just wanted to publicly thank the driver who assisted me with my delivery today 4/30/20 about 1:30pm. I forgot to get his name but the number on the back of his truck read 487983. He was amazing. Made the delivery in the pouring rain while being polite to a rude random person. Hats off to you my friend. You guys are true heroes in my book. To be able to get outta bed during this crazy time and go to work, then to perform with limited PPE, and do it all while the world tries to find fault in everything you do takes a special kind of person. Thank you SAIA. Its companies like yours that demonstrate what true customer service really means.
Was told on 9/30/19 that I had a scheduled delivery. At 4:30 PM truck hadnt showed up - called and was told truck would be on site in 20 min. NEVER arrived. Called when they opened at 7:30 AM on 10/1/19. Told I needed an AM delivery. Dispatch would not work with me for their mistake in putting my shipment on the wrong trailer the previous day. Had to send someone one hour away to get from terminal in Chesapeake. Dispatch could care less about their customers. THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHER TRUCKING COMPANIES OUT THERE - DONT CHOOSE THESE GUYS - THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because their customer service call center in GA were more understanding and did try to get results. Unfortunately for them they dont have the same in their dispatchers.
UPDATE: My son received his 4 wheeler in time for Christmas but only because after hours of back and forth with someone over the phone (to determine if the freight was at the terminal specified in the tracking info) I was able to drive to the Richmond terminal and pick it up myself. So all said and done, I spent over $200.00 for shipping for this item and had to drive 140 miles to pick it up myself. I was called at 6:00 PM and told I could pick it up and the terminal closes at 8:00.
NEVER use this company. They had a delivery for me sitting on their docks for two weeks. They kept pushing back the delivery date. I called THREE times each time they said they would deliver it and never did!!! I wish they had a negative star rating because one star is way too good for this company.
I was scheduled to have a ATV delivered on a Friday for my daughters Birthday the following day. Everything was going as schedule. Tracking showed it had arrived at the local terminal. Someone called me Thursday afternoon to confirm a delivery time. They told me between 1-5:30pm on Friday, and someone had to be home to sign for it. I had to work and so did my wife so my wife took off of work to be home for delivery. Friday rolls around, I get a phone call from the Norfolk terminal saying hes pretty sure they forgot to load it on the truck so it wouldnt be delivered until the following Monday. No explanation, no apology. I make numerous phone calls, everyone blows me off, doesnt return phone calls. Now we are out a days worth of pay from my wifes job, wasted her time waiting all day for delivery. Didnt have the atv for my daughter birthday today. Not to mention I payed $150 for the delivery. Do not do business with this company. They do not care about wasting their customers time and money. My guess is they did not load it because it was a Friday and they wanted to go home early.

The absolute worst customer service. 2 separate shipments. Never called on either to say they would not be coming when scheduled. When shipment finally arrived they gave a 15 minute heads up before my $20k appliance package was dropped at the curb. Smh. Absolutely awful.
I would never use this company if I didnt have to. Not only do they not keep their promises with deliveries, the drivers also falsify attempting to drop off the packages. Not once but twice the company attempted to deliver to which I found out that they falsified attempting to come to my house with nobody home during time I was home.Then when I call their 1-800 number the lady just apologizes like its nothing. Not only does the delay of this package result in me having to reschedule my day, it also delays my schedule for what the package is used for.

Missed a delivery 3 days in a row. Had to go to their terminal to pick up material. Never apologized. Never explained.
This company is not reliable, takes several days longer to receive and they deliver space available Sometimes my freight sits at their terminal 3-6 days
