Military friendly? Absolutely not. I placed my order on 7/6 and was promised a top quality experience. I paid extra for the guaranteed delivery dates and expedited shipping. Containers were scheduled to be delivered on 7/14 (made sure to have a leave day put in to be there) and I was NEVER contacted by pack rat. I had to call multiple times throughout the day to constantly be put on hold and be told “the driver has not updated your ETA but they will be there. They have until 10pm to finish deliveries.” Well 10 pm came and went and as you can see by the pictures, no containers. It is now 7/15 and I even went to the local facility. Only 2 drivers were actually there and neither had me on their delivery schedule for today. I was then told by the driver “we should be able to get to you by Saturday.” 3 days late! I ordered x 1 16ft and x1 8ft container and was then told that they dont even have any 8ft containers! I am beyond livid and am at the point that i will most likely be contacting the BBB. I am literally on hold as I type this (it’s been 40 minutes). This has literally been the worst moving experience I have had over the past 10 years in the military and would never recommend this company to any service member.UPDATE!!!! After literally going to the physical place where the pods are stored and the drivers are, I managed to get my pods a day late. Only a day late, no big deal right? Well it’s now the day of pick up and guess what’s still in my driveway? My glorious pods! You guessed it!! Called multiple times to see when they might get picked up to get the exact same runaround that I got for getting them delivered. Again, they have until 10pm to pick them up. I live in a condo and the driver has to use other peoples driveways to get the pods which means I’ll be having to ask my neighbors to potentially move their cars at 10pm. It’s now almost 7pm and I have very little faith that they will be picked up today. I honest to god can not stand this. How can a company stay in business and treat customers like this? If I could give negative stars I absolutely would. I will be talking to military house hold goods, seeing as they are the ones that recommended this company, to ensure that they are taken off the recommendation list.

Shipping containers scheduled for 6/30 never arrived! Called the company multiple times throughout the day and up to 9:30pm. We were assured by 3 different people the containers were on there way and the drivers had until 10pm for delivery (which we were never told it could be as late as 10pm for delivery on the containers). On our last check back with their customer service at 9:30pm we were told the delivery had be rescheduled for two days later because the drivers hit their maximum hours for the day. From the salesperson to the multiple customer service representatives contacted us to let us know about a delay. Furthermore, no one can give us a good reason for not being on the schedule the next day. We have movers scheduled and don’t have any shipping containers. If you have deadlines to be meet or expect at least the decency of a phone call letting you know the status this is not the company for you. Not a single manager has reached out from the company to try and rectify the situation. We are now being held hostage, as it’s too late to get someone else out in the short period of time needed.Update as of 7/9 . It took an additional 3 days of calling into the call center to get two of the three containers we ordered and an additional 2 days to get the third container. So our movers only had two containers to work with and we had to schedule movers again for another day. Pickup has not been any better! The containers were not picked up on the day scheduled, which has now run into the closing of the selling of our house. Again, we were told it would be picked up on 7/8 but only two containers have been picked up on the 7/9. We have not heard anything about when the 3rd container will be picked up. The future does not look good for receiving containers at our new home in another state.The company has only reached out through this google review, which should tell you all you need to know about their customer service

If I could give this company a big fat zero, I would. Customer service is great as they solicit your business, but once you become a customer EVERYTHING GOES TO HELL! Three plus hour wait times to request any service other than billing. They will charge you erroneously, so pay close attention and they will abandon their pod on your property when youre ready for pickup. Dont store your merchandise at their facility... thats another nightmare. In summation STAY CLEAR

I booked this delivery almost 3 months in advance of my move. Pickup went great! My full pod was supposed to be re-delivered yesterday so we could move into our home. I took off work and waited in my empty house all day. No call, no email, no text...and no pod. When I called, I was told a manager would call me back. No call. The next day I waited on hold for 45 minutes for someone to tell me it might be delivered the following day and that to be honest, even if I put in a request, no manager will call you back. My family is now living in an airbnb, Ive missed work, and I have no idea when all of my belongings will be returned to me. Im disappointed, out hundreds of dollars, and havent received so much as a call. A $20 delivery refund is hardly going to fix this. Still no pod, still no call, and I have no idea when to expect it. The common courtesy of a call would go a long way here.

This company should not be in business! They clearly feed the same BS line to everyone about their trucks breaking down. They strung my husband along for an entire week telling him their trucks were down but they promised our pods would arrive and now we’re on day 7 of no pods and we now need to hire movers to go get our stuff at their facilities. My small kids have had to sleep on the floor for an entire week because we have no furniture, not to mention any of our possessions and we had our delivery scheduled a month in advance. You try calling someone and you’re on hold for easily 1-2 hours. This company is a sham. What an absolute nightmare this move has been for my family because they can’t deliver a pod 12 minutes away!

POOR MANAGEMENT. POOR COMMUNICATION.DID NOT DELIVER or PICK UP ON TIME..They can put you on HOLD FOR HOURS or hang up.Also, WATCH OUT FOR THE GAS SURCHARGE. it can be a big amountGiving us a lot of HEADACHE!(ADD ON: supervisor Richard P promised us for inconvenience claim but nothing. And now his not responding to emails. )They never called or contact us about the no delivery on time. And i have to call their 1800 number to be waiting for hours on hold looking for answers. and said they can not contact the local office to get answers. have to get off from work on the supposedly day of delivery. but just wasted it waiting for unknown certainty. Since the delay, they also have to reschedule the pick up.Until the 3rd day... only the 1st container arrived. then 2nd container came the next day.Somewhere in between, they emailed me a $200 balance for due? didnt say for what? they are really testing my patience. i have to call them and credit it back.Aug 3 was the original pick up date. Since the delay delivery, they have to reschedule for Aug 11. Day came, no updates and no pick up happened. AGAIN, NO nothing. Nobody came, no truck to pick up their containers. Been days again, waiting to be picked up. Calling 1800 again and again, just to be put on hold for hours. Some calls gets cut off.Aug 15, got an email that our container is scheduled for pick up Aug18Aug 18 came, no nothing. no updates and no pick up again.So, we have to call and waited long again and was told its gonna be pick up the next day. Same thing seems to happen. And then the next several days. Until the pick up was completed Aug 23..

Not for the military mover ! spent a total of $1450.20 on two containers for 30 days storage and delivery. Pack RAT, changed delivery of containers with any out notice, on the day of my scheduled move in we were stuck with movers (@ 172 hr ) awaiting a container that was supposed to arrive, even after we paid the fee for guaranteed delivery. The warehouse also put random locks on our shipping containersAs a consolation prize. My advice when using Pack Rat.1. dont make plans to move in on a particular day as your container arrives at the rims of the PACK RAT gods. Even if you pay the guarantee fee.2. Buy bolt cutters for the random locks that are put on your container3. Customer service is non-existent 2hr plus wait times

Great little moving company that took care of all my needs. I usually don’t leave online reviews but I felt the need to go out of my way and leave one this time around. You just don’t find good customer service nowadays. Pack Rat is the exception.

The wait time on the phone to get any answer is totally ridiculous! We waited almost 2 houts begote someone answered .Ee had scheduled ascheduled a pickup date and no one showed up to pick ip the container.We did not receive a phone CallToTo notify us they would not be coming.Will not use again.

Where to begin! Storage Containers never showed up on the 20th. Not a single phone call from the company telling me they couldn’t come out. I call customer service at 9:30pm she said that there was no reason that the containers could not have been delivered and that the schedule was open for the delivery day. Next morning I call Customer Service and they tell me they are backed up until the 29th my pick up is the 27th. This company is very quick to take your money. When you try and cancel they put you in a continuous loop of holds and people to cancel your order. This warehouse is poorly managed and dispatched. If you don’t have enough drivers or people then don’t take on more business or make promises you can’t deliver on.This is a perfect case of you get what you pay for. Don’t use this company go with someone more reputable.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst facility ever. August 7th we were supposed to receive our container (which was scheduled for delivery weeks if not a month in advance). I’m almost 9 months pregnant and there’s baby items that we need to get ready before baby is here. The day comes and I don’t hear anything, go online to see that they’ve rescheduled it (without informing us) to the 11th, fine. The 11th rolls by and *shocker* they don’t show up, and while I’m on the phone waiting for customer service to answer, I see the date change to the 14th! Well, the 14th rolls by and do you think they show up or call?? Nope! Called customer service AGAIN and they rescheduled it for the 19th with an AM delivery timeframe that I paid for. Well here we are on the 19th, no phone call about delivery, can’t get ahold of customer service. We were expecting this container weeks ago and now I’m worried we won’t get the baby items in time like we had planned! I don’t mean to sound like a Karen, but this place is an absolute joke and we will NEVER use them again after this. Oh, and to top it all off? They have no issues charging me hundreds of dollars (including rental fees when I’ve should’ve received my container and not paid these rental fees) for a container that we haven’t even received!We have not received ONE call FROM Pack Rat about our deliveries being rescheduled. The only time we get information from them is when we call them.UPDATE: while on the phone with customer service again, the facility moved the scheduled date to the 20th in the AM!! This is absolutely ridiculous. I see other reviews about them driving to the facility and that’s what I’m going to have to do at this point. Now I have to take more time off of work to deal with this while being almost 9 months pregnant. Thanks Pack Rat! So great! :) I’ve never dealt with something so ridiculous in my life. We should’ve just paid the extra money for PODS instead of using Pack Rat.It’s past the AM drop off time and still no container :) I’m not paying for an AM delivery time when it’s not going to be delivered in the AM. I’ve never been so frustrated and angry with a company before, it’s insane. They’ve taken $500+ for a container and delivery that I haven’t even received.

Multiple dates for delivery and pick up were not honored causing moving delays and for me to take excessive days off of work. I had to reschedule movers at the last minute and was only very lucky I was able to.I was erroneously charged for an entire month after the pod pick up date was not honored and I had previously been promised I would not be charged. When I called to have the $400+ reimbursed, they instead accidentally took another $400+ from my account.

My sister has 2 containers at this facility from Texas that have been stored since February. She arranged to have them delivered on Saturday 7/10 and now it is Monday7/12 and no containers have been delivered. Countless phone calls, conversations and waiting on hold assured her they were scheduled to be delivered that Saturday7/10 and they delivered until 8pm. Was on the phone with agents until 11pm and noone could give an answer of what happened and what is happening. Had unloaders come to unload and ended up paying them $500 for no work. never have received a call from the facility or Pack rat about the disposiiton of the delivery. On Sunday 7/11 we finally got through to a resolution agent that is going to call the facility on Monday morning7/12. This has to be delivered Monday. I would assume that the first deleveries on Monday will be the deleveries left o ff of prior days. There was no problem in Texas facility. What kind of management supports the fact that you just dont deliver someones household goods and offers no communication? This isnt right something has got to be done.Update as of Thursday July 15thno delivery or phone call- have been on phone and get assurance my containers will arrive everyday. Countless phone calls I have made and for a waiting time of over 7 hrs. Everytime I am told that they are arriving I schedule unpackers and then no containers. I would like for the owner/manager of the Chesapeake to call me. You know my name and contact #. I can arrange to have a MOVING company come unload my stuff from the containers. I have small children and all of our immediate living needs that we needed are in those containers (blankets,pillows etc...) We have no place to sleep but in a hotel room and eat out every meal. I have spoken to the resolution supervisor (Kimberly) and she confirmed a second delivery date of 7/12, not even. This is beyond unprofessional

I have NEVER worked with a company so bad as this one. Ordered a pod 3 weeks in advance and even called the day before to confirm becasue i never received one from them, They stated everything was a go. Well the delivery date came and went and after many phone calls even up to 10 pm no one knew anything. Well for 4 days now im still dealing with this company and no POD. They certainly didntt have any trouble taking my money but cant seen to get a POD from Chesapeake to VB. Im starting to wonder if this company is even a cpmpany or just a way to take peoples hard working money. DONT USE THEM.......

2 Zippy Shells were supposed to be delivered yesterday. You cannot get through directly to the site and they don’t call to let you know what’s going on. Oh and I’ve been charged for the service already.

Im so furious with this company. It seem as though they are only about money but no service. They 1st tired to withdraw double the money, which froze my bank account then they held my container without shipping it out for 25 days. I had to call to ask where my container was. Then they are slow to compensate for their errors. DO NOT USE THEM.Update as of 7/6/20: Still no pod. I have been speaking with a Supervisor by the name of Ryan (great guy) his hands are tied, but he has been updating me. I have not be issued a refund as of yet and dont know when a refund will be issued. Was told I could not get information about refund until pod is delivered. Ryan stated that my pod should be here by 7/8/20, lets hope so.

Not only did they bring it after they said they didnt have a unit available, they put at the wrong address. It was there 2 days before I found out it was there, then they came and moved it to the new spot empty. The service sucks really bad..

The container is really well built with sealed doors and easy to load and I thought the prices were reasonable. However their service leaves something to be desired.Went online to schedule my container to be moved and the soonest I can get is almost a month out! Called and they extended my contract so I didnt have to pay for the extra time but its still blocking my driveway, preventing me from accessing things Ive packed, and hindering my ability to move stuff I didnt put in the container. At this rate the container is actually slowing my move down not speeding it up.

Do not use pack rat if your wife or husband is in the military they will leave the pod in your drive way or wherever you tell them to put it and will not come and get it until they feel like it. If you call they will hang up in your face after they tell you that you arent on the account to say anything about the account. Even if you schedule the removal of the pack rat pod online they will not come and remove it on time or deliver ontime very unprofessional, untruthful thats why its easy to get. Bad business very unprofessional dont make a mistake like I did

Do not use this packing company. They told me I would have my pod first thing in the morning. I didnt get my pod till the afternoon. I had people lined up to help me load the pod. Being that I didnt get the pod till the afternoon. I didnt have any help moving my belongings. Go with aboanot company.

30 days ago I was going to give this company a review because I was beyond pleased with the pricing and service rendered however when my husband and myself set up to have a unit delivered to us we were told that we would be notified ahead of time when it would be delivered. We had a rude driver give us a call and tell us that he was only 10 minutes from our home and that we needed to be there to sign papers, we werent even home and it was such a inconvenience. We let it slide and kept moving. Next we received a email that our rates were going up within the first 45 days of having the unit and the prices were different from what we were quoted so I decided to contact Packrat to get a clear understanding. A young man by the name of Franklin took our call and began to talk over me and couldnt break down our charges and because we had no invoice we were just looking for some clarification. Upon me requesting to speak with a Supervisor the young man kept trying to talk over me and deny me of speaking with a Supervisor after 3 times of requesting a Supervisor he finally put one on the line who sounded as if he was high because he had the most nonchalant attitude while on the phone!!! I have never been so disrespected by a customer service representative and I do not recomend this company. I do not care about the rates being change but the inconsistency and respect is a no go for me. I am so disappointed and we will be moving our items.

Wish I would have read the reviews before using them. Company is absolutely terrible! They dont communicate with each other, drivers lie about dropping containers off on time when they are hours late and also changed my pickup date 4 days. All of this was done before the container even arrived.
