Installed a solar tube in master bath to let in more natural light. Did an excellant job and done in 3 hours. I checked after numerous rain storms and have no roof leaks, life is good.

In fact, we just recommended this company to one of our neighbors as he is looking to do an extension off the back of his house as well. Our project, an outdoor extension on our home was worked on in October 2020. First let me say, Chris Hill (Remodeling Consultant) was AMAZING to work with from my initial contact with him regarding an outdoor extension, to the very end. This company hit the mark when they hired Chris Hill to be a part of their team! Chris responsiveness was top notch anytime I or my husband had a question. He put us at ease every step of the way with anything, and everything regarding our job even when he was not the point of contact when the project started however, it was easier to get a hold of him, and response within a reasonable amount of time. Please note my pictures below of the outdoor extension. I would have loved to have the extension go a little further out, but being that our pool is so close to the house we simply couldnt do that. However, the extension does provide some relief from the sun which is what I wanted to accomplish with this job. Chris Williams (Director of Design- my husband said hes the project manager but the card says Director of Design). Anyway, Chris W. knocked it out of the park with the columns, as well as the rest of the extension along with his crew. At first Chris W., and I were not on the same page with what I wanted (not due to his fault), because what I originally wanted was simply not going to work with my size house, and extension, but Chris was diligent in working with me to get a design as close to the look as possible, asking my opinion on what he was building, showing me some things along the way to accomplish the look I was hoping to get, because he wanted to ensure that I was happy with the work. Well needless to say, I am 100% happy with what Chris Williams did with the columns! I love my column design! I am so very happy with the entire look of my outdoor extension on my house! The crew, and subcontractors (roofing, electrical, gutter, etc.) did a fabulous job with building the extension, adding on the frame, soffit (thank you Chris Hill) for helping me to decide on the awesome soffit, as he helped me to understand the differences, and the look as well to ensure I got what would looked best for the ceiling area, and Im 100% happy with that, as well as the wrap around all the wood, and the shingles on the roof. The guys cleaned up after themselves each day, and they even covered our pool (before the work began) to ensure nothing would fall into the pool, and ruin our liner. Everything looks great, and we have even had compliments from our neighbors on the look as well. Im enjoying sitting out there now, and then without getting wet from the rain, and cant wait for it to get a little warmer out so I can enjoy it every single day. We had called several contractors to get a quote to update our kitchen. We had worked with Jerry Harris Remodeling before to fix another contractors work and while they were not the cheapest they had the reputation and genuineness we felt comfortable with. There were a few bumps along the way but none of them were from Jerry Harris team but their vendors. While I would have preferred a schedule or timeline of the work so I could be prepared (WFH w/ pets) they were very communicative and kept us updated with everything. Everyone was very nice and didnt show their annoyance with all my questions or indecision when picking out pieces. Recommended. A neighbor had significant remodeling done inside their home and when we asked, they recommended Jerry Harris Remodeling to us. We wanted to replace our front door and also the transom window above it. We had previous issues with the window and water intrusion when the wind was driving rain directly into the front of the house, and I suspected we might discover damage from prior leaks that would have to be dealt with.While we interviewed two companies (the first specialized in doors and windows), we ultimately decided to go with a general contractor that did renovations in case issues were uncovered when the existing door was removed. I am glad we did.First off, we were assigned a Project Manager (Chris Hill) who was with the project from day one. Jerry Harris Remodeling has a direct relationship with various door manufacturers and were able to make recommendations on the right product for the application (we replaced the garage side door as well). Since we were looking for something specific in the glass and side lights, they were able to contact the factory and confirm that the door and transom window could be made to match, to include arranging an appointment at a local showroom that provided us with samples.As expected, we did find that water leaks over time had damaged the sub-flooring under the hardwood floor. Chris was able to recommend the repairs needed and was actually more conservative than I might have been to ensure that first all damage was uncovered and second that the repairs would restore the structural integrity needed to support the door and floor. Chris also arranged for all the trades to come in (drywall repair, painters) but his team did the repair and renovation.The installation took longer than planned due to the repair work, but they stuck with the job and saw it to the end.Perhaps the best comment was made by a neighbor who said that she couldnt tell that the door and window were not originally put in with the house or that repairs were made.

Needed a company to remove fireplace and cap off chimney. Received several bids. Jerry Harris Remodeling was the highest by about 10%. But I went with them anyway because a friend who I trust gave them a glowing recommendation. They made considerable efforts to do the work in a clean and professional manner. They sealed off the doorways and vents in the room they were working in with plastic to keep dust out of the rest of our house. They covered the floor to prevent damaging the carpet. Took the fireplace out, re- framed area and hung new drywall. Brought in professional plasterers. Disposed of all debris and cleaned up the work area thoroughly. When the room was finished, it looked like brand new construction. All the employees were friendly, hard working and professional. They started and finished the work on schedule. Took a little over a week to complete. Very pleased with the work that they did and their cleanliness ( they were constantly cleaning up after themselves during each stage of the project ). They went out of their way to minimize the disruption to our household while doing their work. I consider them a 1st class operation and would recommend their services to friends and family.

JH Remodeling provided a contract that was very detailed and professional. Offered many ideas and solutions to aid in decision making and what is best for the project. Payment increments-number of days are very precise with completion milestones. Need to ensure completion of each milestone is met otherwise write it on the sheet prior to signing and making payment as incomplete that way accountability. Project Manager was experienced and knowledgeable and managed the flow of work with contractors and ensured workmanship was met. Paying high prices for quality! Experienced a delay because tile contractor poor tile workmanship and required rework. All other trade contractors were professional and met every expectation. Overall a quality renovation was done.

I bought a dryer for the first time. I had to get it installed. I met the Jerry Harris rep at a Home Show and was impressed on how interested he was on helping me with my small job. As it was I needed a new circuit box to handle the dryer. I was worried that the wires in my house were also old but they checked it all out and said they would not leave until it was all safe and up to code. All my paperwork was up front including the costs. They were very friendly and efficient. Made me feel like I was their most important customer that they had even though my job was small. Jerry Harris remodeling recently replaced my tub/shower and surrounding tile with a new tub/shower with a surround (no tile). This was an unexpected replacement because the backer board in my old shower caved in and the shower was unusable. The whole job was very professional from start to finish and the clean up was perfect each day. It was a three day job. I selected Jerry Harris remodeling because they were able to get the work done in a very timely manner (within a couple of weeks of the estimate). Overall, the job was perfect, and it was a professional operation from start to finish.

We first met Chris, Remodeling Consultant, at a home show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. They provided a long list of references in their information packet and I contacted a few people I was acquainted with on the list.We had envisioned remodeling a bathroom and a master bathroom but wanted to add a laundry room. They worked with us on layout and design and created an addition with great imagination. Using some existing closets, adding an addition for the master bath and laundry room, we created a spectacular transformation to a 58 year old home. Once the plans were finalized, we waited a year before starting to develop a financing plan and plan to vacate as required for a portion of the remodel.Once we were ready to go, the on-site project manager, Rusty, was assigned, and now we have an upgraded home. We were extremely pleased with the quality. The entire team was a pleasure to work with.

We had a good experience working with Chris and Dan on our kitchen renovation. They did a good job on design and and were helpful in choosing all the products. Also, they were quick to respond to any glitches which came up, and made the appropriate changes. We had the advantage of not living on site during construction....which, I’m sure they liked as well. Actually got a little sloppy around the site, but everything cleaned up well. They also got along well with our condominium staff. We will certainly consider using them for future renovations.

How long does it take to send an estimate via email? I received the email confirming my appointment but no estimate. A gentleman came out to my home on Wednesday December 5th to look at several handyman projects. He informed my husband he would send an estimate to the SAME email address I provided to inquire about the handyman services but I have yet to receive that estimate email.UPDATE 12/19/2018I appreciate the numerous responses I have received since leaving my initial review. Josh Harris and Chris Hill both contacted me through phone calls and emails. So I will change my review from 2 stars to 4 (and im being generous) stars for their attempt to make it right. I have to be completely honest in regard to my whole experience though. Being asked countless times to update a review is annoying. I heard you the first time you requested it but since I did not move fast enough (I am assuming) they continued to email me with their request. Granted I may have been impatient with the estimate which could have been avoided if Chris would have informed my husband that it usually takes a week to complete the estimate. I would have never left my initial review if this information was given at the end of the appointment. Hopefully, this review is satifactory to their liking.

I was fearful that I’d have so many of the problems and delays one normally hears about when undertaking a major room remodeling, but my experience with Jerry Harris Remodeling was pretty painless and fairly quick. My husband and I met them at the Mid-Atlantic Home & Garden Show this past April where they appeared down-to-earth and practical. Jerry Harris was someone you wanted to work with. They also had a wonderful display. When we called them for an estimate they were quick to come out. We liked what we heard, signed a contract, and they came out the next day to take measurements. We had a preliminary plan within less than a week. The actual work, from tear-out to the last detail, took only 8 weeks.We did spend more money than we originally planned, but overages were my fault since I selected extra details and upgrades. I only plan to do one kitchen remodel in this lifetime and since it’s the room most heavily used and should last until they put me six feet under, it was justified.The cabinetry was made by Waypoint and although they didn’t have quite all the options or colors I wanted (I can be quite particular), I was still able to come away with a kitchen that I absolutely love. The cabinetry is solid wood with dove-tail joints and soft-close doors/drawers. We especially love the trash/recycling cabinet and the glass doors look fantastic!All of the subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, plasterers, cabinet installers, and granite fabricators) were courteous and easy to work with. Each one of them did an excellent job and we were particularly impressed with the plasterers who performed miracles on our wonky ceiling.Every employee was polite and helpful. They were professional, knowledgeable, and considerate with answering our many questions or concerns, as well as in taking care of our home. They were consistent in performing daily clean-up.Kelly was so patient with me during the design process while I slowly worked out all the details. Did I mention that I’m rather particular? I’m also detailed-oriented down to the very last inch. He was creative when I needed solutions to one problem or another and even came up with a couple ideas I’d never thought of – and that’s saying something seeing as I’d spent the last ten years designing this kitchen in my head.Hunter did so many things from tear-out to the backsplash tile. He did a fantastic tile job even though my design had him cutting 8-10 tiles for every 2 uncut ones. He never complained about how much more work it made for him and even seemed to enjoy it. Chad did an awesome job with all the minute details of my punch list and the shelving I had installed over my bay windows really looks fantastic. Now if I could only figure out a better decorating plan for it.Dan was our project manager and he was very understanding with any concerns we had and made sure everything went to plan and flowed smoothly. The one issue we had with a corner cabinet was resolved easily with minimal stress. He always put me at ease and I really enjoyed working with him.All the behind-the-scenes folks at the office must have also done an incredible job considering how well everything went. Without reservation we recommend them and their exceptional team. They performed superbly for us and we wouldn’t hesitate to call Jerry Harris Remodeling again for any future projects that we’re not comfortable doing ourselves.

Our #DowntownNorfolkVA condo building was built in 2002-2003, so it was time to update! On the recommendation of a friend we chose Jerry Harris Remodeling. Jerry was personable, professional and had great suggestions to accomplish my goals... Not to mention his quote was straightforward and covered everything, unlike other contractors I interviewed. The most important selection factors to me: #Honesty and #transparency. Jerry assigned us a project manager who kept us informed every step of the way. #Communication is important! Jerry gave me good ranges for material selection; he didn’t lowball pricing to #getthejob. In some cases, I actually #savedmoney. His suggested vendors were a delight to work with as well. I’d highly recommend JHR to everyone. They delivered as promised: #ontime, #onbudget, #ontask! I’ve already used JHR again, updating #lighting, renovating our guest #bathroom and #kitchen. We know that keeping your home updated in a competitive market is key to #maintainingvalue.

The work was fine, but the project manager was aggressive and anxious—he made the experience very difficult. I do not recommend this company.

Work done by employees was excellent, however we had problems with the sub they use to do the bulk of the job.
